what's up guys today we're at the Dollar Tree I've got a twenty dollar budget in my shopping list and I want to know can I build an entire survival kit for the cost of an overpriced salad and a cup of coffee [Applause] [Music] I saw it here now the benefit is that everything is actually only one dollar the hard part is actually finding items that are going to be suitable and every location is gonna vary like this one does it exactly bode a lot of promise but we're still gonna hunt down and see we can come up with alright so right here we've got a ton of flashlights there's a few options even for a dollar kind of sketchy though but I think this might end up being a really good light option because we could actually strap this to ourselves but we can go hands-free and have more of a lantern I think it'll give us more options especially for a dollar all right so it's been a very long time since I've been here but there's some promising options so for our cutting tool we've got a utility knife which is not the ideal you want something a little bit better we've got a folding knife and then we've got this kind of multi-tool gizmo in here so it offers us scissors knife blade can opener Phillips true man if this thing even halfway works I think this would be a gold miner might I be ideal for me to kind of splurge and do $2 worth for cutting tools get this and something else all right so we have some fixed blade and kitchen cutlery in here and this one looks pretty promising it's a full 7 inch blade they're not very thick but having a non folding cutting implement I think will be extremely useful alright so for combustion we've got some lighters you've got a 2-pack for $0.99 which is awesome and we've got these strike on the box matches 300 matches for a dollar that's awesome also if those matches and those small letters don't do it for you they do sell these longer ones you can keep your hands with the flame that's pretty cool speaking of fire starters the sponsor of today's episode is pro camp tech they are the creators of some of the most powerful all-weather fire tender offer your next outdoor adventure offering wax-based blends that are resistant to the elements easy to use and they work when you need them the most head on over to pro camp tech comm to find a retailer in your neck of the woods that link will be down in the video description so this is a cool find about 50 Cent's piece we've got two bandanas for a dollar that'll be very useful very very very handy now we're looking for a shower Kurt in yes Oh plain green one that'll work so we could use this as an improvised shelter just like a tarp shelter not ideal but keep in mind we're at the dollar store we got a twenty dollar budget so I'm looking for metal containers and right now all I see is foil and there's plastic now there probably are dollar trees somewhere that might have a metal container so we're gonna have to get a little bit creative because I want a metal container that can handle being put in the fire so we could boil and purify water given the fact that we don't have water filters in this store alright so in this store there's no easy solution but I've got one solution out of many possible ideas so we use this bread pan that could definitely hold about 24 ounces of water and for a lid so we could boil water effectively we use these metal lid covers put it on top but to be able to gather our water we can use freezer bags so we can also use them for a ton of other things and on top of that once we have our water boiled and clean it to store it and carry it around you can use this little $1 32 ounce bottle what I think is not a horrible $4 solution alright so the next on our list is cordage now we have a few options we've got a diamond braided rope we've got 25 feet of it then we've got paracord now this is not 550 if you understand that however it will have inner strands which gives us some versatility for shelter building but also if we need to sew anything repair tools or also using this fishing line this could be a very good improvised tool so I think because we have a 20 dollar budget we should splurge and get 50 feet of cordage for two dollars all right so we've got duct tape this gives us 10 yards it's not a whole lot but four dollars not too bad now we can use this for fire starting we can use this as just utility tape we can use it to repair our shelter since we are using a shower curtain we can use it to seal up a wound or help us create a splint if we break our leg out now you know it's a foul situation this is infinitely useful so there are a few options here but keep in mind we are limited with a twenty dollar budget but we do have a twenty one piece first-aid kit for some algae boo-boos but I think it's because we have our duct tape if you run into something a little more serious we can get some gauze pad kind of have that just in case we need it so I'm gonna be pulling inaudible we need actual water to start out with because of the fact we'd have no way to filter the water so it's kind of a smart move so we're gonna be getting rid of this thermos and swapping it out for this because one this is a container we get our extra container but we also get water to start out with and 50 ounces is an excellent trade-off that's an awesome awesome supply so I'm going through the food aisle because we're trying to concentrate on nutrition because we want stuff to start out with keep in mind this is like a short-term survival situation this is like seven days or less just to keep us physically alive so I think of this back sixty one-pound bag of lentils and this section of rice this will definitely give us three to four days of food if we ration it out it's only two bucks now we do have some extra money left over and we could actually spring for one other item and that one other item I think we should do vienna bites because it's a ten ounce can and that kind of bolsters us so we get starches proteins fats we get a little bit of everything and built inside now I think the last thing we're gonna get thirty gallon trash bags this will kind of be our storage container our backpack back up the shelter if we need it this will these eleven will give us a lot of ammunition or some of the things we need this is an awesome last item so we're at twenty total items for a dollar it's time to check out [Music] you know that gonna actually alright guys so we're done with our twenty dollar survival kit trip and if you guys want us to see us actually take this out into the field for ten days a twenty dollar survival kit make sure this video gets to these five thousand likes and if it does I'll take this out into the field for seven days and see if I can make it with three normal minimal tools literally twenty bucks do you want to see it happen 5,000 likes baby but that just about does it for now super excited there's an awesome shopping trip see on the next one [Music] alright guys well it has been a couple days if you guys want to see like I said see this survival kit I'm super excited to be able to take this out and this would definitely be for me a challenge because I've never been so restricted on tools before or the types of tools like I said this is just an individual challenge just to push myself individually as an outdoorsman it kind of see how much I can learn in innovate and improvise while out on the field using tools that I would never choose to bring if I could ahead of time normally without doing a challenge keep in mind it's a challenge it's all for fun and it's just yeah so if you guys want to see this man 5,000 likes we get that it's on
