[Music] it's still a cool truck somebody built it somebody put a lot of time and effort somebody was crying a lot with me grinding all the gears more than you in the comments where's this from originally not lately originally all right we are back with jason who uh we've had a couple of his toys on the channel already we got the two-stroke detroit fire truck we got the lowered uh ford and then both of those are gone yep yeah fire truck went to bc oh nice month and a half ago and the ford is uh local they found new homes that people are very happy with them so this isn't one that's going to be on the video but it leads into the next one this one i bought two years ago a year and a half ago and i went out to meet the guy at his uh house and uh when i drove up there was nobody home and we're standing there wondering when's this guy going to show up because the truck was sitting there so i'm looking through the truck and waiting and waiting and all of a sudden i hear this obnoxious noise like like a train a freight train or something and i'm like what the hell is that and it was like two minutes later this thing this truck we're gonna show you today pulls up and i'm like ah i kind of like that truck a lot better than this one and he's like oh no no it's not for sale not for sale i just got this truck and i'm having fun with it and just scaring people in town and stuff six months later it was on kijiji and i phoned them up i said you son of a bugger i'll be up there this weekend so i went out and bought it so if you guys are really into this one we can make a video on this one but this one just like so people are gonna ask this one is just a generic stock safety just a cool old northern saskatchewan logging truck the old school the condensers were on the roof for the to cool the [Music] just a little turtle yeah it's a little baby one factory 375 horse and it's still the original engine yes it has 25 000 miles on it really i think it's been around i think that's what the gauge treats zero two five one three it might have been around twice [Music] man that is cool even the colors and everything so this this was it this is the peterbilt that i bought from the guy i bought the kenworth from um six months later after he told me when i was buying the kenworth he didn't want to sell this he had just bought it from a guy who drag raced this truck in st thomas [Music] [Music] um and then prior to that you can still see the name on the fender it's called the continental cadillac yep that company's still in business oh nice and they move buildings so you didn't build this track no you didn't do anything no uh other than get it up the park yeah for road legal so that i don't get any hassles even though it's historic vehicle i don't use it for work there's no towing apparatus on the back yeah but the frame was aluminum from the factory i didn't even know they made aluminum frames for these trucks and to be sold in canada was a big mistake because the frame got all pitted what i did to the truck by paying a guy to do it is he insert a new steel frame inside the old aluminum one to strengthen it up because he was very leery about putting a safety on this the way it was we reinforced the frame new brakes the steering box needed to be rebuilt and while it was in the shop getting all these things done one of his test drives it ran away oh legitimate interesting ran away and this one has an air shut off on it we flick the switch and it shuts it so it shut it down right real quick and he called me up he goes uh i know you have experience with this but it ran away on me i'm like oh it'll be fine you got it shut off pretty quick yeah yeah it'll be fine so then he did some more work to it ran it again and uh he said okay it's done come on pick it up he has a video from his surveillance camera of me driving away and as i'm driving away it just smoke everywhere and it screams up again it runs away so now we're like okay we need to draw i thought it was just a fluke we need to address this so back in the shop it goes um we whip out all eight injectors send them away to a place in cambridge they rebuild them they're they're big injectors i don't know exactly the number on them but they're they're they're not stock they're not stock got them rebuilt brought it back put it back together running it it's now it's using antifreeze ah the intake valves were cracked and uh so now we're into a motor build ah so to say that i haven't done anything to it is is not this i haven't done anything cool to it i just did that yeah we can only find one cylinder head in canada new so we had to send the other one up to get machined and rebuilt okay repaired which we didn't want to do and while the motor was sitting there naked i said just leave it put new rod bearings in it like that the whole nine yards oh so so it is good to go again now oh yeah oh nice oh yeah no messing around no no just do it it's already half apart the heads are costing me like 12 grand so let's let's carry on then two months turned into six months and then i finally picked up the truck and thought well this was crap so this is the beast i guess originally it was a twin turtle but now it's just a single um so yeah new heads bearings sleeves the whole shoot in nine nine yards electric fans are in stock how many how many horses now we don't know what the horsepower is looking at the videos from the guy that drag raced it he was running around the 15s for high-fifteens but he's spinning the whole track so yeah yeah it's hard i was gonna say there's no weight over the back how do you hook it's hard to imagine i did the numbers because sean who did the motor said it's around 750 to 800. so i punched in the weight which surprisingly i weighed this at vnr yep vnr and it's 12 500 pounds which is a lot heavier than i thought and uh i did the calculations on 750 it should run a 14.9 okay based on if you hook right but you if you search this truck for the st thomas big rig nationals you can see it's just spinning all the way down the eighth mile he had the regular uh duels on the back yeah these seem to hook a little bit better than what the duals did but in the rain this is crazy scary like you're on a wet ice rink no good in the rain um no wait not even a fifth wheel though anyways took it to cuga um got in line and they came over and said that you can't run this truck here we don't let big trucks run because it chews up the track blah blah blah go to st thomas so maybe one day i'll get a time for it but uh it does scoot along it might surprise a lot of people what's the trend it's a it's a high low five speed within overdrive okay so i think they call it a 13 speed i think so i did customize the passenger seat it was a bench so i had to put that in for the wife because this is not her most favorite truck to drive in nice so you haven't started it in three weeks i honestly maybe four maybe four weeks so this is a true cold start it's about 10 celsius yep yeah i'm thinking it's going to give us a hard time let's see what it does [Music] it's not even that cold yet [Music] [Applause] nervous not hit him yeah that's the hardest part [Music] sometimes [Music] is yeah so how's she running mechanic sounds good i hope after a fresh build that she was is there a pole or just keep turn the key secret [Music] that's that's the air uh yeah yeah the air valve oh nice is the air shut off yep yep so if you have a runaway that's the one you think but that's also the theft oh now we're on camera now everyone knows everyone knows how to start my truck that's why i say this is dangerous to drive because you can't keep your foot out of that it it it's very tempting to just mash it was the first thing i did was just put to the floor right i was like no no it's not like the the the fire truck where you yeah you're not going anywhere no no going somewhere yeah yeah so you gotta you really gotta take it easy and you gotta chef before you max out yeah but right so not not not an extra not my best driving but we didn't die so that was good there's always that so nice jason thank you very
