2 Nights Winter Bushcraft Camping & Fire Cooking 🔥 Building & Sleeping in a Natural Debris Shelter

hello world ones i'm here on a freezing day in the woods in january and i'm going to try to build my own shelter this weekend i'm really excited i think this is going to be really hard work day i'm going to try and make some sort of a frame there's lots of deadpool about you know i am such a newbie with this stuff i really don't know how it's going to go it's very cold the days are short so i'm going to get started on this see how i go i think i'm going to use some wood from this deadpool to make my frame [Music] i'm just using my toilet trowel to dig little holes to put the ends of the tripod into make it nice and sturdy okay i'm quite happy with that for my like tripod frame i'm gonna lash this together up here um and then look for some bits to go down the side i'm just making some support ribs little forked ones like that so just go in there and i'll sort of wedge it into the ground [Music] [Music] i'm quite pleased perhaps going so far i've got most of the main like ribs down so that will support the rest of the stuff i'm going to chuck on it which is you know small life in branches leaves i suppose it's only three hours daylight left now so it goes really quick in the winter [Music] so what i'm doing is with the big branches i've made like a frame to support the little branches and the little branches are going to act like a frame to support leaves moss basically anything i can get hold off to try and fill the gaps a little bit and give a nice bit shower [Music] yay i'm going to focus on this side first because there is a slight breeze coming from this direction and i only know that because [Music] you can see my breath it's going that way so here it is this side to keep the breeze [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so this is a bushcraft shelter made entirely of logs sticks leaves a little bit of paracord and lots of deer so i guess i'm gonna move my stuff in in a minute i love this let me try laying down [Music] perfect just making a little notch so i can hang my light up and be dark soon i'm moving in hey i'm in i'm gonna get a little fire going my bush box i am hungry that was hungry work today got lovely lamb steaks so i need to get some nice coals go in ah i forgot i bought this i got a wine so [Applause] i think this one's good i've got amazing oh my god honestly this night i could not get any about it's just perfect [Music] so cozy in here i've had the most gorgeous food that lamb was absolutely gorgeous got a nice hot drink just spoiling up on the little fire now and it's just the most perfect night i think this is one of my favorite things i've done in the woods actually i really love it i'm so excited i've got a whole day tomorrow and another night as well so the plan for tomorrow is i'm gonna source some water i know there is water a few hundred meters that way it's standing water though so i'm gonna have to filter it and boil it i wanna get some firewood i wanna try and start a fire with birch bark because i haven't done that in a while and i want to see if i can make it like a little fire shield reflector windshield type thing so that'll be really fun as well temperature wise it is 2.6 degrees out there in here it is 5.1 at the moment so you can see the fire and you know the heat coming in the little showers making quite a difference at the moment so that's really nice so it'll be interesting to see actually later when the fire's out what the temperature difference is between in here and out there so i'm going to do that little experiment and on monday morning when i take this shelter down i really want to see how strong it is so i'm going to throw some really big heavy looks at it and let's see what happens see how destructible or indestructible really is so that'll be fun i'm gonna get ready for bed now get all cozy i think i have a lovely warm snuggly night and i'll see you guys in the morning night night guys [Music] [Music] morning you guys it's such a gorgeous still morning i love it i've just had a nice breakfast of porridge and chocolate coffee and i'm ready to get going for the day so i think the first priority is to go find some water i've taken the temperatures this morning of outside and inside and outside was 4.5 degrees c and in here was 6.1 which is quite a difference i think i found that really cool right let's go get some water i've got my water i went back and did a second trip so i've got more than enough to last me all the way through until tomorrow morning it's been filtered and now it's having a rolling ball so i'll be absolutely fine i think next i'm going to try and sort some wood for a little firewall so [Laughter] the sun's out hey sunshine i wonder if i can make something with this oh look at that i don't know if it'll actually do anything because it's so gappy but i love it it makes it so cozy i feel like i've got a little garden now [Music] i'm going looking for some birch bark to get the fire going in a bit look it's my little house very cute [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] finally got my dinner on so well excited about love a bit chilly it just feels so cozy in here i just can't believe that i made this it feels like a proper little house i love it when it gets dark especially with the fire going and even though my firewall's kind of a bit wonky donkey i really love her so now i just get to keep my fire going just be warm and cozy and enjoy my last night in the woods and then tomorrow you've got to take it all down that's okay it'll be fun to see how destructible it is i'm quite looking forward to that actually see what it takes to knock it down or if it will just you know collapse like a pancake never know [Applause] all right i'm clocking off now you guys there see morning for some shelter destroying [Music] morning guys i've had such a lovely night's sleep about seven or eight hours i think lovely and toasty and warm so it's been amazing i've got my breakfast on the go i'm gonna have that and then i'm gonna get packed away this is definitely one of my favorite things i've ever done in the woods and it's definitely my most ambitious i really didn't think it was going to go this well so i'm really really pleased and it just goes to show if you're not sure if you can do something or not just give it a go and you'll probably surprise yourself so i'm gonna say bye now
