what it's like to play for the NFL title two teams that believe anything less would be considered an unsuccessful season but thus far the Dallas Cowboys have not lived up to expectations at 1 & 2 they are still trying to overcome adversity last week Dallas led an 18 point lead slip away today they look to regain confidence in this crucial early season matchup despite your initial wins it has not been an easy journey for the buffalo bill Monday night Jim Kelly looks beastly and ultimately was this week an injured hamstring has sidelined the veteran quarterback today buffalo looks to overcome there was no defense there and he pulls the hamstrings but he's not now that happened on Thursday so so Todd Collins didn't have a long time to get ready Marv levy didn't have a long time to get him ready but Marva says they weren't going to use no huddle this week anyway they're with Todd Collins what they're going to do is they're going to use more formations more two running backs in the backfield instead of three wide receivers are going to use more to tight and keep things solid run the ball and we know one thing the Dallas Cowboys are going to go after Todd Collins the Cowboys are want to do they blue lead last week against the Colts and what's sane right now well they're not a very good say to resign attorneys am pleased we offer and support and he says we haven't been in sync all year we weren't thinking preseason we haven't been in sync this year and part of it is Michael Irvin but they're going to have to make up for that somehow they would like to do it with the running game they would like to get out there and pound the running game but Emmett Smith isn't healthy either I mean he has an act he has the back he has the left knee and we found out yesterday he also has a bad right ankle not say those are the two offenses but I think the area that really has to step up for both these teams are their defenses and they have to tackle a lot better than they did last week the tackling on both teams last week against Pittsburgh for Buffalo was atrocious and Dallas might have been even worse against Indianapolis we'll see if they improve and we'll be ready for the night game where he got the neck in the back illegal formation on the offense six men on the line of scrimmage 5-yard repeat second down you can see what is this in it right here that this tight end wasn't up on the line of scrimmage and then they didn't have enough men on the line of scrimmage because they were okay up on top so it had to be the tight end was lined up in the backfield not having enough men you have to have seven men on the line of scrimmage check it out Mathur again [Applause] it's been raining all morning all day that's about and did all night last night the carpet on a rich Stadium is wet and as I'm sure if you follow the NFL the Dallas Cowboys you know that toy Aikman doesn't like to throw and this is something he's not in sync with you see it in and if a guy falls down and flips and plays like beyond Sanders did like what happened Troy Aikman probably saw that you're going to go to beyond we fought beyond flip he just threw it away three wide receivers third long taken back to throw going deep the chambers in context [Applause] number five Thomas Smith [Applause] this is always an interesting one now because it's not always against the defense the Nexus what here isn't this is offensive pass interference so when the guys are going for the ball it can be the wide receiver in this case Deion Sanders you see him push right there with his right hand that's offensive pass interference he kept the defender off of his right in but that in doing so he got the penalty but he also didn't catch the ball because he didn't get his two hands back together and the had blown the whistle and Claud Collins was coming over there to make sure that they had the right play because I think at first they fun they had a first down and then then it started to look a little long and then it was really I think they change the play a couple times three tide in this the Thurman Thomas is exploding today he exploded on that plate before that way where a lot of cowboys misted tackles then he exploded on this one right here see they're going to pull both the guard and the tackle to lead with him dissing I formation see the right guard and right tackle both pull in here that's a counter tray you usually don't run that in short yardage when you get those big guys pulling like that and the on site doesn't get penetration it can be a short yardage play two tight ends - I doubt this time Thurman Thomas Woodson made the initial contact well you know that's always we always talking about that eight men and they say well they get eight men up eight-minute a box eight men all that stuff and what eight men means is you got your your four defensive linemen and then you bring your three linebackers and then you bring a safety up here so you have eight men up in this area right here and that's what they did and that's why Woodson made the tackle right at the line of scrimmage three wide receiver set up this time for Buffalo look right then went back left and picked up about for your Todd Collins was saying yesterday he's really nervous and he was nervous and today they can deep breaths and do it all that stuff and he said it probably won't come out of me until one or two things happen one I want to complete a pass and then to take a good hit he hasn't done either yet okay Jim Kelly and he said baby and what he said we like to get them on one play down they run it in short yardage they ran it to Thurman Thomas they run it to Derrick home that's a play that the bills like plus they must think can be effective against the Cowboys bills only have three running backs Tyndale Thomason home so if anybody gets hurt they get the job Holmes is alarm set back this time Collins back to throw [Applause] not enough fur first down but there's this first pass completion those are the two platens where we talked about the two things that he wanted and you can just feel even if you watch his body just he just kind of relaxed a little right there he got his first hit then right there he got his first pass completion to his high ten Lonnie Johnson would pay to get you started and now he has a little rhythm going he has a little running game going they're mixing their formations and he's gotten his hit and he's got his completed pass in three wide receivers maybe it was an advantage that Kelly didn't get hurt and fell further columns didn't have all week to be nervous when the Buffalo Bills that have a short week anyway and then they and then Kelly gets heard on Thursday now like this is just to look in it's just going to be a three because of what Buffalo's done to them by controlling the ball and playing so well it looks like they have the Cowboys pressing now and they're starting to press on offense and this isn't a relaxed offense but of course it's hard to be a relaxed offense when you want to get a sense of urgency so then you start to prep maybe too much agency and then they're just they're just not doing the things that they used to do yes mark is a Danville hopefully fits to the pony gets one block and that works in it we've always done so well on special teams along with bill Bates make the stop 55 yard punt 8 Cowboys are still getting knocked off the line what they're going to get their eighth man up they're going to get Darren whips it up he still gets the block it's that same counter see number 28 they they knock them out there and then Thurman Thomas just gets the push his blockers keep blocking the Cowboys keep going back and they're just getting block them in this the Buffalo Bill offensive line and backed and blockers are handling that stick cowboy defense third one three tight end set up for the bills this time Derrick Holmes and he gets another bill first down Rock Mary and had to make the stop - because he's in safety yeah that was Corey Lucci again me the right backer we thought John Cena make a couple of blocks Corey Lucci makes that block you're going to see the right tackle in the right guard you see him pull there now that time Thurman Thomas couldn't wait he just had outrun things he said the heck with it because it's short yardage if he waits too long for his off tackle somewhere he just has to take off that was Derek Holmes he just he just had to take off he couldn't wait for his right tackle at Holmes and motion by Darren Smith when we talked to Marv levy yesterday that see that the Buffalo Bills wanted to do was use more formations you know when they were going no-huddle in the decay gun and Jim Kelly he felt that they were staying in one formation too much there was one back three wide receivers and not being able to get to like the formation we got here were two backs to tight ends of these kinds of things so they were going to use this game plan against the Cowboys even if Jim Kelly did play Deion Sanders and caught by Deion Sanders inside the can the bills will have a person goal this trip blocking and terrible a queen bed account worse that's that same play pad again it was the counter it's the counter to the left and you see it where he's just going to take the counter set and then he's going to get in behind his right guard right
