Greg sacks he's not planning on getting out of the race car he said darrell waltrip the owner went back to Nashville I gotta hang in there for 200 miles what happened folks practicing practicing the tide Chevrolet Thursday morning for the high in southern 500 he cracked and broke three bones in his foot it was so painful press the accelerator they had to put this a piece of aluminum on the sole of his foot so he could press the accelerator it must have worked pretty well because Greg sacks is on the pole piece of aluminum and all Greg sacks in the SuperFlow Chevrolet starting up front is pole sitting speed 155 point oh five six mile per hour let's take a look at the starting line of the Sears diehard starting grid to take our first break there are 41 cars in the field a lot of veterans back in the pack will be check we cut back for the green flag after this current point standings in the Busch grand national series show Chuck Bown the point leader over Jimmy Hensley Bobby Labonte the youngster impressive Tommy Huston and Steve Grissom where these top five starting in the field only one in the top ten Hensley starting seventh three the top five starting outside the top 20 after work cut out more to maintain their point standing today getting set for the green flag field two by two 41 straw on the one point three six six mild granddaddy of all Super Speedway headed on a turn for peak bath getting ready to wave that green flag and get the Gatorade 200 underway green flag flies and they head to turn one and Jared look at Dale Earnhardt he has dropped all the way back to the back of the pack our 22nd position we see him as a black car coming into the on these good range Chevrolet so he chose to start at the back as to not foul up anybody it's heating up up front of the hurry back to the car number 17 pulls in front of Rick last our winner we could go and there's Mark Martin on the bottom of the racetrack getting pad for the car number 25 Oh Jimmy Hensley speeds of over 165 approaching 1 or 270 miles an hour down this 1300 foot back straightaway coming out of turn two Greg sacks subbing for Darrell Waltrip in the Busch grand national series here dropping a super flow Chevy it comes to be like a Rick mast and Sega sponsor a rookie driver now an impressive run for the driver the car number 34 Jack Sprague this is his first time running at Hensley there's a hundred Detroit gasket car later earlier this year Bristol Tennessee and now mark because of getting out turn four think we're unable be inside we got a good run off that's where we will tell that that see that four know his they got a little loose going into the turn Tim trying to trying to go up on the outside of Jimmy Hensley taking advantage of that little clip that Hensley made going into the party ever we would get on the break to keep them running over I'm trying to pay that forward of Mark Martin really gets through the turnstile the battle that's Ottinger in the picture the card number to Kenny Schrader's in the Kodiak Chevrolet Monte Carlo and is not alumina is sticking with the Monte Carlo for remainder of the year traders car really loose up it turns one he's wagging the tail a little bit there he gathers it back in in front of the jimmy hensley car traitors best minutes of the year came here in the spring when he finished third and some cards back in right in front of the Gockel robbing the car the Dick Trickle normally with driven the car number 92 Dale Garrett and the crunch Pontiacs trying to pull down better evidence a single file a tough racetrack here and now Jarrett just trying to sneak policing the turn three that's urban behind them in the black guitar zoobel card number 75 Garrett goes around Sawyer now urban will make a move out of turn four that was a good move iron your urban he got speed coming off of the turn and moved right around here brick mass trying to put a move on do it if it came off of turn two devil am Rick back in the Buick the wave and boat spirit called Rick man who won at Bristol Timothy and there's trouble that is the car number 27 of Elton Sawyer the Gwaltney meets Buick and he has spun out a turn to caution flag on the team when you see a couple of tires having been cut down and Sawyer will make his way around the pit road there's Elton Sawyer Virginia's Robert in the Gwaltney meets next new area car number 48 of Sterling Marlin apparently was involved as well he was coming up through the pack along with Michael Waltrip Ernie Irvan and Dale Jarrett but he apparently hit the cardinal between he's there you see the smoke coming from the Motorsports design star number 48 let's see if we can see what tests there's Marlin down on the inside it looks like the right front of his car just clipped Elton so you're a little bit and thin so you're around and it did damage to both cars saw your spins to the inside of the racetrack doesn't look like he hit the inside wall so the baby should be minor we're under caution for the first time today here in Darlington South Carolina for the Gator HD thunder stay with us we'll be back after this showing the way in tow Rick MasterCard number 22 there's the carnival 34 gets fragged a rookie driver an impressive run early on for him but he's getting some pressure now from the veteran Martin Martin Martin start just going through the turn the boy from the dress so he'll put the pressure on trying to make the move now going into turn one but don't believe you make it this time lot of muscle is Frank's car that's a Ron hunter v6 Martin in the Don Kowalski Ford v6 car number one that's the battle for third spot meanwhile Kenny Schrader sitting back there in fifth watching that battle in front of him there's crater in the Kodiak Chevrolet one lap September of and over net car and Dale Jarrett now great battle back in the patch chair at the carnival 32 that Harrigan and Ernie Irvan coming up in the Charlie Henderson Cardinals call the Henderson was the fellow clover in Abingdon Virginia that allowed us to use his vintage cars of the the last week now seeing his car come up through the pack Ernie Irvan started 31st and that moves him into he's been making his passes coming out of turn four left watching this timing to go into turn three here's Mark Martin now trying to pick over third and Debbie made a move out of turn four but looking again here to here at lumic the 31 car Bristol here's Ernie Irvan trying to make a move by Haring it'll make it three wide it's Michael Waltrip somebody left to give Michael Waltrip inside the better be going into turn one because there's not room for three cars side by side Mongol news or any urban find a broom on the inside again car not as good as we normal to see that car running on this racetrack his car not handling well early on they'll have to get that to Arya to get a pit stop and make some changes but now battle for second spot Marv the tanning oil are almost effortlessly goes by the rich man's car and Ernie Irvan show the movie around the Steve Grissom machine urban that big black in our circle you can rent Olaf Oh bill making a move now on the outside of Dale Jarrett in turn one Earvin doing some very gutsy driving here arrogant now tiptoeing dental needs play by Grissom and getting a little bit of pressure now a lot of pressure from Michael Waltrip in the Spitfire party at khartoum 92 we walk back and forth trying to hold off the challenge of Mark Martin Whitmarsh justices Rambla take the lead and turn one and rick map now tried to take advantage of that but facts shut the door on him so mark puts the forward in front he has won victory so far this year Myrtle Beach South Carolina Mark Martin driving the Carolina Ford dealers car prepared by Bill Davis Andrew showing the way early on and the car number five a tough break for Ward Burton the older of the birth road report says Jeff Burton's older brother 28 years of age from Virginia a lot of smoke came out of that car and he brings it down pit road had a good qualifying run here Jerry started in the 11th position and was running pit when he had the problem Challenge back in the pack again that straighter trying to make a move inside a sprig there is Michael Waltrip economy 19 moving round Otakon watch the car number 70 so he should get into ramble a little bit and drop back for a while trying to pick back up some of those bazinga a lot of veteran drivers back in the pack having the chip so early on against the car number seven Morgan Shepherd behind him in the car number nine Tommy used to the veterans Robinson Busch Series racing in the chart number six and you see that is Michael Walker moving bothers Gant and Shepherd to veteran Winston Cup campaigners grew up on the short track race Carolina area that's it barrier in front up in the car number 33 the Pharaohs truck stop entry and LD Ottinger to the court gasket car which area you can see that you can't pass on this racetrack ago the Ernie Irvan has moved from 31st to 13th position and 21 players 30 men with no sign of deadly the ain't guys be ready they've nicknamed him squirm and Ervin down in the garage area but he certainly puts on a show and now a model again here's Barry you're making a move underneath Ottinger hearing it can't quite get by Morgan Shepherd Texas pizzas car the roses stores Buick for Tommy Houston beckon at the car number six the blue white and red nervous Gephart sliding up high and turns one and two used to trying to get beneath him we'll make a move down the back straightaway using some of that Jim Ruggles v6 pile of the slide beneath the car number two of LD Audigier our teacher had a very good qualifying run starting in the fourth position but he they're 30 urban on his way to the front Ernie just turns in hard left a Charlie Henderson all and you can read old mobile taking over 12 position goodbye Jeff Burton at the armor meets Carlos am hard compared car there's the car number 12 Burton had a great run here in the spring state in the top five or six all afternoon at trouble late in the race a nun family pit stop cost him a lap but had a tremendous effort the youngster from Virginia in the Samoyed repaired machine looks like a mail mission he is making his way to the front having started back in 31st spot trying to crack the top ten trying to reel in some of the cars in front of him there's one in the back dress we're going to pull out and show you where the lead cars are and they are just exiting turn four Mark Martin's Ford just coming out of turn four and headed down the front stretch we're in the early laps Darlington Raceway in the gatorade 200 the top 15 cars mark bars and showing the way in pursuit Greg sacks Rick mast Jack Sprague and Ken Schrader top 15 here it's going to be a bar suppose grand national racing action coming up players will be back don't lead an international race playing for the Gatorade 200 foot grand national series of in I'm Jerry punch along with Ned Jarrett and Benny Parsons and there's the man who's showing the way Carolina Ford dealers Ford Thunderbird for Mark Martin behind him there's Greg sacks SuperFlow Chevy something for Darrell Waltrip and Rick mast a winner a week ago in Bristol Tennessee on the high banks Martin now pulling away down to about ten o'clock darling he has built a good lead since he got in Friday just gradually pulling away and he's doing bunch of that in the turns as well and there's a driver who's but on the move since the green flag dropped come on a turn for right at you the old low bail for Ernie Irvan Salinas California driver Ernie Irvan started way back in the pack does not have a particularly good qualifying effort in the car really slipping and sliding on him there he started back in 31st pod currently being shown in 10 this racetrack there is because it is not easy to pass out there but when he catches him he passes adjust motors all around the Charlie Henderson already did not drive this car at the first race of the year hit girls in the car was driven by brick Brad teak urban now closing in on the car number 56 has days later 2/3 the four-time all-american Challenge Series champion mater was impressive last week at Bristol Tennessee has trouble late the race when he got against they'll battle up front Sprague slowing car number 34 Jack Sprague completely completely moved over Jerry and that ken Schrader go by and there's the later beginning to lap some cars the regulars Busch Series competition complete 147 combines a Gatorade 200 Mark Martin trying to pick up a Speedway with the Chevrolet Rick mass in the Buick Raven both Buicks for Rick man Ernie Irvan now making a move underneath mater he has made that move taking away the night spot they are tasty Rafaela 1988 Series champion the dews clustered Gilligan develops his Davey Allison of the car number 28 the hummingbird Timberlake slip-sliding that Ellis has seen urban coming he's going to try to make a move and get my navy Allison Davis cars beginning to slip and slide a little bit in the turns it was fast at the beginning in the race but it looks like I'm getting very loose on him right now the Olmecs fan look he's gonna come on around Tommy elephant coming off at turn four or he's got to try to but elephant no not this time big boy you got to work a little bit harder than that remember the Winston Cup race back in the spring it was turned for that Ernie Irvan dough would eat the skinny Schrader car and they had that major crash at massive melee apparently he backed off a little bit that time and learned a lesson now I go to the outside of Tommy I look down the back stretch Tommy just a continuation room this race he knows that our a turbine is faster than here so he didn't badly much he just gave him running now in seventh spot ernie irvan's all the way from 31st number 98 they're one of the lab sergeant al Goodson from Darlington South Carolina and the next target for Ernie Irvan on his ascent toward the front the fast fair car the Oldsmobile where Jimmy Hensley Italy currently second in the Busch grand national series point standings had a great qualifying Enver started in seventh spot there's a look at a lockable horse pastors Virginia drivers give me Hensley two-time most popular driver in this series anslee currently being shown in the sixth position they can pick up a lot of for today because of course the point leader has started back in the back isn't much to say in the top 10 and you've got to get a top-five finish he's a good handy driver back up front there's Hensley and six moving back up and we'll pick up our lead car that's Martin Martin the Carolina Ford dealer star Martin is really starting to put some rounds with himself in the second place car Greg sacks there is sax and mass second in third and close in on the rear deck of rich he's been working on him Jerry but he just hasn't been able to he's had a nose that the batter every song is back look how you run going into Perry comes on the third floor adil in the top 10 now the battle for ninth spot they've made her MacArthur 56 and Dale Jarrett now tie the bait move beneath him to take away nine Jared's 28th position in the neste stretch Pontiac so he like Ernie Irvan as we they come up through the back we talked about how important experience would be and a lot of experience there jump right they later the rookie driver forty-two that is Bobby Hillin Pal pity normally ground they asked Bobby Hillin the driving here a little bit later Michael Walters this behind him in the car number 92 uncle Walters stopping for dick tricks on the Motorsports designs Pontiac thank you spot away mark mark be showing the way here on lap 40 of 147 which comprised the Gatorade 200 a great crowd on hand for exciting foot series that should stay with we'll be back back in Darlington South Carolina for the Gatorade 200 foot transactional series event and the Carolina port dealers Thunderbird for Mark Martin showing the way still upfront and pulling away a little bit dead from the feel a strong feel the cars but they're dicing it up back in the back yes they are hearing gaps he'll the heaviest traffic there's favors in his car number 79 as they get around the car number 44 Bobby Labonte there again having won three in a row here like Anakin but I'm president fourth consecutive victory here at Darlington Golic and there is bobby labonte the car number 44 now moving around dangers and there's a 79 now resented that just passed him and watch can't go by with the inside Kenny Wallace and and the armor meets all right yeah advantage the Carcetti very slow and turns three or four it's a little slippery up there and they're sliding up and Dan took advantage that moves down to the inside cut himself out of all that track here comes Kenny Schrader's moving around the car number 22 at Rick mast that'll be for third late greater the car-bombing and leaving a little vanity cabinet back in as he takes third spot away from mass door number 79 we saw Resendez getting passed apparently he has a problem in the engine department that's why he suddenly slowed and was repast by Bobby Labonte a minute ago he's riding at 7:00 he was running at 17th position here Joe Nemechek making a three wide going into turn three brick man back down to single file that was Gary Balu in the car number four who was a meet in that sandwich the Queen man standing the check here's Ernie Irvan now who is reeled in jimmy hensley Ernie Irvan 275 starting away back in 30 for a spot of his sources see Jimmy massive hensley head to turn one moves into six position so he had picked up 25 position not aggressive at all not known for qualifying real well but apparently he runs a car just in a ragged edge in the laughs noxious what kind of laughs he's turning remember they're just about 50 laps here in the book wolf walked in you can rent Oldsmobile Charlie Henderson's car was an Ernie Irvan aboard flipping the slide instead of wondering if needed use those hard they they got to be going away well he has abuse of no question about it but but as we saw in flight up and turns one and two that's the normal case here at Darlington for the last several years after the race get started further left into if they do fight up into the car so characteristically our the way that the dropps truck the urban coming out of turn four is last time thirty 4.2 seconds 34 - that's 143 point seven miles an hour not a panel all laugh mark bomback stopwatch we'll talk to him officially here on the ESPN path I hate him at about a 3394 you better go with the Bulls barbacoa mark mark the ports on the birds get a laugh on him he is running away upfront right now being chased by Sachs and Kenny Schrader's a lot of veteran drivers we talked about at the top of the show how much experience how important experiences here in the tough track like Charlie could remember Ernie Irvan has climbed into the top ten is laughs with 30 4.2 seconds Martin Martin now coming out of turn four Dale Earnhardt slows down the front straightaway he had moved up to 19th position from about the rear 34.1 so a tenth of a second winter then what we got Ernie Irvan the last lap by there's her on the bottom of the track as Martin goes around him then turned to tough break with a Goodwrench Chevrolet Robert and Weiss a winner this year in Busch Series competition eres Saxon straighter they mix it up back there at his second third and fourth back to the car number 17 Greg sacks Ken Schrader in the 52 Rick mast in the Buick car number 22 the raisin boats beauty we understand the Dale Earnhardt has parked a good range they had a clutch problem our clutch pedal problem at the 20 seconds qualifying positions back to the rear of the field that had worked his way back up to 19 something went wrong talk to us or you gonna watch the rest the top 5 he is second right now he started on the pole a great qualifying lap 155 for an old 5 6 miles per hour but you got to be wondering remember he had the accident on Thursday and broke three bones in his foot the metatarsals they call him the long weight bearing balls of the foot now he's run over 50 left let's see how he's doing let's check in the pit with Benny Parsons a crew chief on the super blue Chevrolet he said Greg is feeling condition right now a car a little bit as soon as they make a cause of pit stop well Greg sex hang it all you'll have a lot of racing a new one a weekend here come with his Busch Series racing Winston Cup racing but he's doing fine right now and it's evidence for the fact that he's keeping the super flow Chevrolet in the second spot and there's the current Busch grand national series point leader the Nescafe classic Pontiac for Chuck Bown he is gone a lap down he is now being shown in twenty-six pot in one lap down so certainly Jimmy Hensley who his second in points could gain a lot of ground today there's Chuck Bown 36 years of age from Portland Oregon currently been shown a lap down and six wins to his credit the 1990 season got a pretty healthy lead at the points and he lifted out there's a good point late and he started 20,000 this year so he's gay he moved up one position that could be they learn hard but there Detroit get these car Mark Martin showing away holding away from the Reg sacks we have brought almost 60 laps here now these are v6 engines 270 core carburetor there is to try number 72 52 there is Saxon straighter company second third and fourth we said they're small carburetors 390 cubic foot carburetors and of course with 274 cubic inch pieces how far will they be able to go on the tank of fuel well you know we felt Bobby Hamilton here maybe lose this race a year ago he went a hundred laps but that was really stretching it too far but I've been taking mid-journey I just talked to Bill Davis the owner and crew chief on the Mark Martin from the one caring for didn't scar he 775 on the racecar because as you've noticed the cars car engine running that's a good point or stop but they need to go at least to the halfway point in case of things should go green the rest of the way well half way would be 74 laps of 147 which comprised the Gatorade 200 and there's Ernie Irvan he just took the 5th place away here and so urban is on his way to the hunt Mark Martin showing the way here in the Gatorade 200 lots of racing laps to come your way stay with us I'm gonna race way Mark Martin showing the way just passing some of the car that sterling Marling behind him but now Goodson he's go around the car number 98 approaching the halfway mark Rex accent superb Lowe's Chevrolet slowing down a turn for if the open shut into the wall let's take a look here is it came off of turn four swing into turn three they're down we're falling one around but the lap before he got awfully high let's see if he fits the wall I believe he did yes he did indeed clipped the wall coming off before he did a good job holding it there skinny straighter coming back into position at RIT fast moving around Joe Nemechek Rex was definitely off the pace he has lost a couple of spots later in second spot in Saks barely having been offender he will make his way on to pit road Betty Parsons it's got the hemispheric water and the front fender are not been against the tires because they have a hammer to knock down the middle making sure there's some difference between the time good so pizza and he will go a lap down to leader the next four or five last year crew chief will appear before leaders guard the last 74 which is just five laps away Padma let's go a little further on filled with it I want to risk you he's running we watching mark mark there Dale there's just loop around Ernie Irvan insect over the field position flawlessly around here no problem with that board load as everybody else has everyone I'm wanting to get the power goes goes higher heat it up here Stan getting right-side tires someone about to make a chassis adjustment in his trailer coming in will see fray their traitor coming right by and they too will go to the right side kimiko on one side tires Chris carrier Nimitz chains right side tires and made an adjustment on the sole Buick traitor as best finish of the year came here in the spring they pulled the jack out sixteen point six seconds Cohutta the group laughs down Gary and it's pretty hard to do here make it stop it James too tired to knock to a lap down Mark Martin anyway and so that was just enough with the cushion pardon me did you put him a lap down the BART will have a pit stop coming up here shortly laughs just two more laps and B to the halfway point and expect you want to go at least to the halfway point Mark Martin 7 pushed here in the master at Darlington Raceway in best finish the second Beckett get the wind and push they're in competition here audience begin at walking in look here way back in the spring of 88 looking for Mark Martin to make an entry on the pit row remember under caution you're only allowed to change two tires Busch Series competition but under the grading change as many as you want if you just have time when you got proof mark martin now coming to turn three down 73 Rick bass coming into the pits he was the second-place car The Raven votes viewing the winner in Bristol four tires on their own looking at right side man a person pig pace in the crew now changing right-side tires on the Raven boats Buick for Rick mast clock running there they have the tires own fuel going as a car cleaning the grill there comes Jimmy Hindley getting to confront Oh bass as the fast fare crew foil his Oldsmobile and our leader coming out of turn four Mark Martin heads for the pitch Bill Davis is there for servicing Martin's Marlin four tires on this automobile to be sure and they are Cajun for tires Jack comes around seconds here's the carnauba Donnie - that is the michael waltrip driver he is driving of course subbing for Dick Trickle the air changing tires but it's on the backstretch drive way back in the pack when to come drivers have to they'll Gerry has become a leader of this race or monetary so part did stay in the partners still in the lead lap with poor the LG rat the Nazis trunks Pontiac Garrity's run here a number of times over the years in question Ares competition zach has run fifteen times here the every single race the Busch Series cars have been here he's finished third twice he makes a move inside the Robert Pressley car down the back straightaway that's Bobby Hamilton the car number eight there's Dale Jarrett Robert and Hensley's crunch car number 32 33 years of age from Hickory North Carolina he's gonna have to stop for gas before too long for a pit stop he needs tires as bad as in his death in fact he's going to do it right now here he's pitting on the backstretch he slows down to get the car under control hit it into the pits on the backstretch John Irvin Kenny can up mark shook and the crew hood of work now on the Nestle's crunch Pontiac is it's getting busy here in the pit he's in the back kitchen behind him it looks like Ernie Irvan is also coming in so jarred and urban two veteran drivers getting served into the back fin now the jarrett crew one v proof championship pitstop championship event annapolis Indiana during the running of the fervor 200 they have quickly getting out of the 50 here then they can make the tire chains awfully quick there is the back time to put the fuel and you got to be sure to get it full of fuel but knowing you might not have another caution then you need to go have enough fuel to go the rest of the way they change the tires that are already moved away they were waiting on that fuel can there's Ernie Irvan now and a lady stopped in the backstretch and they you can rent ullevÄl but the way Ernie comes in the back that's just a challenge to him the Atlanta new tires on the hill take off here's Mark Parton now trying to move around Tommy elephant he's going to have the advantage he had them his family's already he was running out front but then to get four tires and everybody else just taking on two that's going to give him even of course he could afford to clean on those four tires because he had a pretty good lead he was not going to go a lap down the others had to be concerned about going a lap down two tires so that was a good smart move on their part couple drivers have yet to pit the car number 42 at Bobby Hillin driving for Ted Condor and relief of Kyle Petty Kyle Petty who had his foot fired last week at Bristol and was banged up at an accident he has yet to pit the split fire Pontiac well we understand that he'll be coming in the next lap Tom Peck is in the pits on the front straightaway getting right-side tires will follow there's Ernie Irvan going around Bobby Hillin he has fresh tires on the boy really makes a difference I'm already urban moving on the inside a hill a hill will slow down and let some of that traffic clear so we can get a clean entry on the pit road Gary Kenan and the crew will be waiting for the car number 42 this quickfire potty act now he's one of the Winston Cup drivers that's hitting on the French vegetarian throws had a good wall of mine here Bobby Hillin 25 in 13th position they'll go to work changing right-side tires back beneath the car dead Condor own machine Hillen of course instead seven for Kyle Petty Gary Kenan through teams they're making a serious chassis adjustment on the right side of that star right rear tires on 17 seconds flat pretty good stop for a Busch Series crew yeah when you consider all they did to the car and again they had to take extra time to fill it up with the ethylene and also make a chassis adjustment so that was and for the Tommy Houston fans don't mostly documented it or not but his Rosie stores Buick is behind the wall and Tommy of course up there in the bush grand national park standings in fourth position in the park standing so it's going to be a tough break for Tommy Houston on history after win his first ever pritch era Sterling Marlin coming down pit road in the car number 48 he was being shown as a leader we'll come in for his pit stop hitting on the backstretch involved in an early service for the only culture that we had helping soldier got together will become the leader now once again that's the Fred Turner on car enter greens for early Olds Cutlass Ron hunter engine inside the car that Sterling Marlin is driving Motorsports design Sunoco sponsored car Mark Martin now coming out of turn two he will head his way and sterling now forgets the car now the neck and heads back out 20 point four seconds we can get out and stay in the lead left which I doubt if he will be able to compartment if he has the speed up I'm on the left down though series of leader pit stops have taken place on pit road we're back where we started from with Mark Martin is showing the way here in the Gatorade 200 stay with us you watch a stock car race on TV car comes charging into the pits they thought Jack Gunners start jacking up to change stars look how far the front is off the ground that's because there's a stabilizer bar that runs across the front that pulls this tire off the ground no such luck in the rear look how close to the ground this tire is how the mechanics compensate for this is by taking the tire off hook in the chain to the rear axle house and attach it to the frame so that when you Jack the car up the rear comes off the ground equal to the front do you think these race cars are complicated but wasn't that simple indeed it was Benny Parsons and it's simply a great day for Martin Martin here is after 93 of 147 left he's showing the way Rick mast trying to hold on the second spot straighter Michael Waltrip and Dale Jarrett and hit we hit it on the nail early on the experience paying off if it has certainly paid off the Winston Cup drivers and Rick mast is the only one in the top five that has run all with the Busch grand national races so far this year now he's running a lot of races we were here 75 Ernie Irvan coming into the pits this would be an unscheduled pit stop for him he looks like he's one behind the wall into the garage area and out of the race Ernie Irvan was running in eighth position he hadn't read the lawn green flag pit stop when he came in tough break for the Salinas California driver there's a battle back for four spots Kenny Schrader in the Kodiak Chevrolet running on the high groove right up against the wall Dale Jarrett Nestle's crunch putty I can straighter and curly slipping and sliding Garret now trying to pull his rear deck here now the back straightaway the turn three about three laps ago Bothell Walter plan around trainer who comes Jarrett now Jerry takes the position moving in the coal handle having gone away from Kenny Schrader's in the Kodiak Monte Carlo Chevrolet now flies back to fifth spot Garrett takes the fourth position away look how high straighter goes in to return I said a moment ago you know that that can come through the grooves not that high boys look at it fast that car he is breathing heaven Carlos that's one of the waiting and the race car that he doesn't have to getting loose every time he touches the throttle a rear of the car trying to break away this moments ago in turn four Neddy touch this Laughlin here's what happened yeah the back end just comes around and he did a great job of saving that car to keep him from going all the way around thank goodness handle or he wouldn't when he overcorrected it or he could have over corrected and got in the door there's Kenny Schrader's editor driver coming from the open-wheel ranks abuse that competition is certainly an accomplished Winston Cup competitor you saw what kind of experience he had together that car back in their tail Garret an impressive front last week in Bristol Tennessee in both the bush race where he 30 seconds and the Whiston Cup event worried led for a number of laps there in the Wood Brothers car there's Michael Walter Pontiac the John McKenzie sponsored car he's subbing for the injured Dick Trickle who wouldn't normally have driven that car trickle and sit on the pole that cars Charlotte early 20 seconds to Dale Jarrett there in the West for international series of it right now there are 14 cars on the label the third plate course leading his Mark Martin in second Rick man 13 sokoloff repeat forces Dale Jarrett Kenny Schrader well here six here's Rick bass and the Raven boasts Buick and last of course currently a second spot picking up his first win of the year the 33 year old rock bridge bass Virginia driver Mark Martin remember Martin came in and changed four tires under green bombers and then some of the folks who work on his Winston Cup crew the top five of course Martin the leader so I would expect in a lot of these drivers like mast and Dale Jarrett it doesn't love to see a yellow flag I come in to get some prints left my brother well here even though some of those drivers like Gerry and mauka Walter for hitting on the backstretch they would have to hit after all of those that are pitting on the front stretch but still with only 14 cars in the lead lap we get goodness crowd on hand here is Mark Martin is showing the ways of Darlington Raceway the track too tough to tame lots of laps left don't go away back at Darlington Raceway Mark Martin showing the way but we understand the Greg sacks is flowing again here he is indeed the narwhal super-close chevrolet suspects the pole-sitter having his problem here today every pit road right now bring snacks alerting Tim hero driver from Mattituck New York rolling slowly down pit road with check in with Betty Parker Carrie I don't really know what the problem is looks like an oil pump pelvis come off the car that's the word I'm getting that the oil Phil Miller he was running at 12 position before he first pissed off close you know the last the fourth and then long flight more than one went down as Eddie Jones a crew chief there talking to sack detect the window netting down and the crew in the SuperFlow crew having put that foot back in place and they will push indeed push sacks behind the wall back subbing for the injured darrell waltrip both in Busch Series racing in and of course in the Winston Cup ride the tide Chevrolet Mark Martin showing the way up front here in the Carolina Ford dealer support Thunderbird Martin did not fare well in the first race here early in the year he was involved in an early lamp crash one of a number of cars that were laughs 22 he and now petit Dale Jarrett Ronald Cooper among others was involved in a crash with neighbors in the influent engine but what a difference he's Heaven's a here tremendous runs for him there's a points leader the Nescafe classic Pontiac enough judges found and the car number two just to the right of your picture there that is LD Ottinger they have been mixing it up on the racetrack and let's see what happened it's a lap or so ago okay turn four there's number 63 getting tanked from the rear by LD out-of-shape auditor came up on the car number 33 of it barrier and of course had to slow down a little captain a little bit but everything's okay that's Jimmy Spencer in the car number 77 the white and orange numeral Dwight Huffman on machine now going around head barrier in the 33 back up frontier battle for second spot here at brick mass his car skittering a little bit that's Michael Walter behind him about to take over second position Walther 50 made his pit stop has been very impressive he has come back up through the pack he started back in the 20 this position and val has moved into second but I think that he's running faster right now in the mark mark military here to check that out michael waltrip a two-time winner this year we'll take a look II started back lapped and he's back in 21st all the way up to the second place now this patent last 105 see the progression that he has made up through the field is very very good Michael a two-time winner this year in Busch Series competition having won in Richland open Dover Delaware on ESPN there's Rick mast raven boats view it and he is being reeled in in a hurry by Dale Jarrett there is Derek will hide him in the Nestle's crunch Pontiac Derek I think the tires just got away on his car Jerry look how he's joined Jarrett's able to keep his car look how much to gain daughter just now pulling up a sauna and going into pairing 3 you get the position Dale Garrett takes 3rd spot away 40 laps to go 107 are complete in the Gatorade 200 and Jarrett will take over the third spot well the driver who started up for today had his troubles and finally had to park it he's standing by with Benny Parsons Greg are you okay yeah I'm fine many we some reason the mandrel broke up the front of the engineer in the oil pump belt came off got a forty feet light come on shut it down before difficulty when the car just to catch a little bit off the groom is way up on top of the drag right now I mean but about a six inch bushing that just brushed the wall a little bit three or four earlier nuts to add a little bit so we are looking to get a quash it is the we need to straighten back up we think we have been all right how about the foot for 500 miles will be okay feels good right now it doesn't get any welding from the day I think would be a good shape thank you Greg sex gave it a gamble effort while he was in there but he had the park to super flowy Chevrolet Mark Martin is leading them here at Darlington as the left's are winding down on this crowd really enjoying Busch Series racing don't go away but 1982 benny parsons brakes the 200 mile per hour mark 1984 Johnny Rutherford the first driver to reach 250 miles per hour 1985 Bill Elliott becomes a Winston million-dollar winner 1987 Alain Prost break Jackie Stewart's longtime winning record with his 28th win if there's a record to be broken you'll see it on TSN's racing programs they put you in the driver's seat back at Darlington Raceway for the Gatorade 200 Jerry punch Ned Jarrett and Benny Parsons bringing the left by lap coverage to you here in Busch Series racing and Mark Martin showing the way awfully strong day for the Carolina Ford dealers for Thunderbird there's the man we've talked about earlier the defending champion of the Gatorade 200 has won three in a row trying to make it four in a row Harry get in the car number seven in the top five cherry for the first time today he's now running in fourth place to just move around sturdy Marla for Sterling's lap down in the right of the screen there is Kenny Schrader who continues to slip and slide he is in fifth place dan is the fourth place car and a little bit ago he was trying to get around Kenny Schrader let's take a look at what happened well while we take a look at that Rick mast is coming into the pit for an unscheduled pit stop his stars on the busy way you see traders cargo very high in the and he did a little bit earlier in dale jarrett weather advocate this drives right by me and that to take over the four spot there's Rick mast the raven boats Buick crew man a person and Nick pace changing left side tires Bobby Hill's new over the winter the up garnet ring man down pit road so that our car really going away with his left side tires wearing out yes and that putting the left down period now there are only eight cards this matter of fact he's gonna have to hurry or he'll go two laps down because Martin is going into and Rick star trying to get his feet up in fact he's not getting his feet up something very slow Rick mast cars he goes up to backstretch he is not getting up to speed at all where the cars locked here don't know what it is but Mark Martin will go by there he goes by to make cooking two laps down Mark Martin moving running today in a passing car that in church three and four but a tough break for Rick mast they are waiting for mass back over here on the frustration area but he is slow whoa coming around to turn three or four let's check in with Benny Parsons Jerry punch with Rick mast went by me down pit road the engine sounded terrible my father tells me that engine quit before he could get all the way around the racetrack he's back in the pits now I get to go what a difference a week makes last week a flawless evening in Bristol Tennessee picking up his first Busch Series win of 1990 had a great run here today but he is back on pit road with the hood up I got my unofficial watch on Mark Martin this laughs we're seeing but then we'll see where michael waltrip he has 34 and now Michael Waltrip is only 3.8 seconds behind a while ago he was five seconds behind he is game very stout race car Michael Waltrip is driving today for Dick Trickle the injured driver of course this is the car that settled the pole is Charlotte back in May any second to Dale Jarrett car number 92 owned by Mack Martin built by Larry pin it's a ruggles v6 there's Dale Jarrett's Jack Sprague in the pit instead too well and they on schedule as Victor coming in for left-side tires on some of these cars that brick mast is there a moment ago passed it back into this with the hood up as we see mark mark stood another lap on the head barrier car number 33 and Kenny Schrader is about to him since he was running in the fifth position the freighter was women and sliding on the racetrack I think traitors blow it behind the wall this place car the race and we'll show you the car number 92 that's Michael Walter pulling around the Native patents all right second place car and he is trying to reel in the leader Mark Martin great run the Motorsports designs Pontiac a Michael Waltrip there's the car number 32 the third place car likewise a great effort by Dale Jarrett Pushkar John Irvin the crew chief on that machine and looking back to the fourth place car number seven of Harrogate there he is just coming into turn two Skoal Gargant scarf lobbing a little bit there they get whitaker imbuing yes being shown in the forest pod we mentioned Kenny Schrader's who was being shown on the top five a minute ago had made an unscheduled pit stop arrogant now going beneath Billy standards out of turn four moved back his cars coming out of turn four our number eight and it's Bobby Hamilton he's one of these parking according to my calculations there these seven cars on the lead lap this rider has parked his I'll be held on the three-time national fairgrounds Speedway champion last year as a rookie won at Richmond Virginia yet to get his first win in 1990 he came awfully close here in the spring he's one of the drivers that ran out of fuel with two laps to go when he had a shot at winning it here and the car number 42 that's the split fire spark plug star with Bobby Hillin aboard normally driven by Kyle Petty the car on the lead lap and there's our leader man who's had an wallop afternoon here Mark Martin showing the way as a laps are winding down 22 laps to go here at Darlington Raceway a big crowd on hand and joy Busch Series competition stay with us back at Darlington Raceway Mark Martin shows away in his Ford Thunderbird up in turns three and four and Martin is beginning to slow he's slowing you know turn four yes something might have gone wrong with the engine he makes a hard lift down on to pit road barely missing the pit wall in the car now coasting slowly what a tough break for the Batesville Arkansas driver he is headed for the fifth let's check in with Benny Parsons how about it Benny he pulls behind the wall he pulls directly behind the wall and is going down behind the wall evidently an engine problem it happened coming off of turn four series there is him two PS but let's watch name is nothing the brute don't see any signs of problems and then all of a sudden we'll see him turn his square left almost missed the entrance to pit road and then touch the lip and dust get down on the inside almost spins the car out and barely getting it on the pit road well it must have tightened up in a hurry is Bill Davis in the crew now I've run up to Mark Martin what a great afternoon he was having after starting at barbecues Phil's body early on and had everything going his way but now the man leading the pack car number 92 that is michael waltrip looking for win number three the 1990 year in Busch Series competition at the one in Richmond Virginia where he settled the pole in push competition also winning at Dover Delaware has a look at Michael Walker younger brother of course of Darrell Walker a little less than two seconds ahead of Dale Jarrett now who second division and 92 coming into the pits Michael Waltrip in the Motorsports designed Pontiac coming into the pit so Jarrett will take over the lead how would not involve and he would be the visionary they got less than 20 laps to go they're just when he was in there port heiden awfully good pit stop when they made their green flag stop last night I got in the car full of Hill and could cost them a chance at winning here Dale Jarrett now being shown the way there's Michael Walker's car coming back at the speed after a quick three and a half second stop in the pits and then Nestle's crunch Pontiac and Dale Jarrett starting back in the pack Jeff Jarrett started in 28th spot now the big shoulders the leader the other question is did they get his car full enough head well he was in for a pretty good little bit Jerry he ran about 77 or 78 laps so he had certainly less than 100 miles to go when he made his pit stop I would think that he'd be able to make let's check in the pit with Benny Parsons who's standing by with a fellow who's got to be a little bit disappointed well we lost region meeting I tell you what that Carolina Ford dealer senator Byrd was just right it was just running easy out there the motor let go what you can burn anything that might help you tomorrow Bart Barney's mom well he's gonna be smiling because of the great effort he gave today Dale Garrett showing the way the laps are winding down here at Darlington Raceway trying to pick up in a second win of the year that's gonna get exciting don't go away we'll be back we're winding down and 33 year-old Dale Jarrett had tried to hold on question was did they get enough fuel in the car with all these the walkers have to make that last-second dive on the pit road it's a few laps ago for a toppling of the tank and Ned your guess is that he did yeah I think the sales crew got enough damn he's not running as fast now as he was a little bit earlier in fact he's running a little over 35 seconds around here let's see how far Kent is behind him well five seconds now not too long ago again with seven seconds behind in definitely tension Dale Jarrett now whether he has time or not with only 911 well Harry get is certainly a veteran dis racetrack he is more than the last three Gator a to hundreds in a row he's won for the last six Busch Series events and remember back in the spring here March 31st it took the lead with two laps to go one by the car Bobby Labonte so Dale Jarrett is trying to hang on we'll kick the interval one more time Jarrett crosses the start/finish line now again running slower traffic gets the patty Louise car interval five point four seconds yeah he was held up a little bit there - he came off the turn so he lost a little bit of ground that time around let's go to the back stretch and Benny Parsons is made here over there Gary crew chief John urban man John come down here can you make it the rest of the way bTW I went over a hundred miles with the first tank and I got it flat full I see no reason why we can't go good lord willing in the sense threats are and they'll sign a good job I believe we can make it her again I don't play slow her song gained as much notice of it from barking how much he's been gaining he's not getting that blood or we can say a third front thank you I get it Gary would you believe there you know it with that battle right there that we're seeing on this with my crew chief when I was driving race cars back in the sixties I don't know what he's using but whatever that youth medicine is we got it we got a bottle that somehow and sell it because John Irvin has not aged a day Oh Jerry did some traffic but Steve Rifton loose over Leslie mu by going into turn one here comes can't let the off are you time this time five seconds on the nose so he's picked up a little bit again air again closed again now on the waning laps here at Darlington Raceway you're not gonna miss a thing you're gonna take a quick break and get back for the final laps can Dale Jarrett hold off Harry guess we'll find out when we come back don't go away Dale Jarrett showing the way in the waiting laps here at Darlington Raceway try the pickup went number two in the 1990 season five laps to go but the interval is getting shorter and shorter Garrett having the tiptoe that'll be concerned did he have enough fuel on board remember he only gotten right-side tires those left side tires have gone all the way oh yes and they got to be worn Jerry we haven't seen they'll slide the car that but she he's been pretty smooth with it the car was handling good boy rocks in the very beginning abused the towers network so last time by the interval was 5 seconds we'll check at this time is again now coming out of turn four got the hand behind the pedal down 4.6 he's cutting bun four tenths of a second every couple left but the laps wanna get this boy laps to go a couple car slows in front of Dale Jarrett over on the backstretch the jimmies winter car closed but Jerry got around to there number three moves over him Jared had to have an anxious moment there for a little bit because this part were side by side as they came off and turn to right directly ahead of it and there's trouble that in current one the yellow flag will come out well let's emote maybe yellow flag won't come out the car is down off of the track so they're continuing they guess the yellow is coming now that's a jack sprague car car number 34 and they're waving the yellow flag now here front straightaway if the leader has not taken the yellow he had already gone before the yellow flag came out but Dale Jarrett has closed now hope his pit crew recognizes the fact that he did not take the yellow Harry Gant is going to be coming home fast Gary coming off the turn for now he has room up in front of him there to feedback apparently the yen is on the move and here comes Karen out of turn four to take the yellow flag and here again is behind him about 10 car lengths so caution flag Michel here for the second time today for the spinning car of Jack Sprague up in turn one and there was just two laps to go when Jarrett in Game five that time there would be one left to go when he comes back around the next time so he'll get the white flag and probably that's right we end under caution Terry since the world it took laps to go we'll see we're certainly not making the call for for NASCAR but we'll just see what the situation is he babs standing on the flag stand holding the white flag and the yellow flag is not yet waved the white flag Dale Jarrett showing the way starting way back in the pack today in 28th spot he showed a lot of maturity last week in Bristol Tennessee involved in an early lab crash up there came back to finished in the top five up there a great run for Dale Jarrett finished second actually finished second both times at Bristol and the Pontiac safety car with the lights of blaze comes down and Pete Babb will wave the white flag so indeed then your estimation was correct this race will finish under caution and there's Harry Gant he will not get that unprecedented fourth consecutive Gatorade 200 win but he will have a great run today and finish in second spot and there's John Irvin the ageless one John Methuselah Irvin we call him down in the pit the crew chief and he is running over toward Victory Lane well he of course has to say a little prayer that that meant this crunch Bonnie I feel getting back to the start/finish line you know he's got to get the checkered flag before it's official well he can ride that draft on that Pontiac pace car there's a seven car and I know here against got to be saying boy just give me one more lap I've called him now of course he had a little help from that pace car but that would be quite a shootout that's it barriers lap car on the inside the car number 33 but a great job Dale Jarrett has won four times in Busch Series competition this would be win number five in his second win of the 1990 season and the interesting that Jerry that if he does go on to get the checkered flag here it would be up to five wins three of them room superspeedways two at Charlotte and to own short training and most of his experience primed is prior to going into Winston Cup competition short track and the crew now jumping in the Nestle's crunch man heading from the back stretch and now they have finally found victory lane as Neil Jarrett will win just a moment as the checkered flag wave Nashville series event and Dale Jarrett wins it here the Gatorade 200 waving to the crowd here again 30-second we'll hear from the winner when we come back after this word from our sponsor back at darling International Raceway the Gatorade 200 is history let's take a look at the top 20 finishers of course they'll Jarrett winning it and I'd like to congratulate you they don't a--first for you well it is the first for me Jared I have never seen Dale win a race when I was working on a broadcast and I guess I contained myself pretty well here the excitement well you did you were a little hole in the carpet but we'll don't worry about that let's take a look at the point standings for the Busch Series competition of course Chuck Bown still showing the way he lost a little ground today Hensley Labonte Grissom and Ellis but a happy driver standing by for our road handler winner's circle interview and Benny Parsons is there how about a bitty Jerry the last time we saw this fellow at the Busch Grand National race he was hot he'd finished second he's still hot would you finally won one yeah we sure did you know this is our second other year and old food good racetrack Charlotte and here at Darlington the track is too tough to tame but you know it really feels good this Nestle's crunch pontiac rim good all day and the guys in the crew you know there was a 1990 Busch grand national pit crew champions and they did a good job getting me in and out there on the pit stop and making sure it was full that was the main thing was making sure they got all the gasoline in it mark shook the one that does the gas inform it did a good job there again just thank necklace crunch ice cream the Citgo gasoline for their help in making this ever possible looks like that Ford's gonna be tough to rest of the year Martin Martin's Carolina for the other story yeah I guess you know we were kind of lucky to win but we ran good there yeah they got some new heads on that board and has given him some more horsepower and that's gonna make a difference for him because good a race drivers in his own places like this he'll be tough to be sure happy Victory Lane indeed like father like son his dad Bennett 1965 here in the southern 500 and son Dale Jarrett waving to the crowd an impressive run here in the Nestle's crunch party a canoe race record 136 point 3 4 2 miles per hour win number 5 here in Busch Series racing career for that man Dale Jarrett for Benny Parsons and Ned Jarrett I'm Jerry punch saying again congratulations that they'll Jarrett and so long from Darlington Raceway yes gentlemen start your engines the stories today 36 year-old Chuck Bown the current grand national point leader dominant early in the year but hoping to pick up his first win Jimmy Hensley the veteran driver has already won once on the Speedway this year would like to make it a second Speedway went on a one-mile race track but the youngster everyone is talking about 27 year-old Gaston Alabama drivers Steve Grissom currently fourth in the point he'll be in a today stay tuned the world just off u.s. route 13 north of Dover Delaware lives a track they call the Monster Mile a one-mile high Bank Super Speedway no bridge wide sweeping turns and great side-by-side racing it is host for today's push grand national series Hey look fire 200 hello everyone I'm Jerry punch along with two-time NASCAR champion Ned Jarrett and then a month ago we did not have a points race in Busch Series racing Chuck Bown was so strong really on winning six top from the short tracks but now Steve Grissom has made of movies and fourth of the points and the veteran Jimmy Hensley making his charge now Jimmy Hensley has chopped off more than 100 points off with a 360 five point lead the Chuck Bown had just three races ago so now it's a 259 in their 5 races remaining including today's race which will be a very critical race for both of those drivers but I think the race is coming up Jarrett baybridge Amy Hensley since Bauwens six wins came on short track there none of those kind of races left even though Martinsville Virginia is a half a mile track but that's Jimmy his home track and he always runs well there so he's got a pretty guard up and be out there charge and try to get as many points as you can because Jimmy has was coming after indeed Jimmy's coming but today they'll have to contend with a lot of Winston Cup drivers it's a Super Speedway normally the Speedway for the bass shoe of the Winston Cup veterans with all their experience that may not be the case today how about it Betty Parsons at the top twenty second twenty third twenty seven thirty figured out these big they have no advantage is great race between bush drivers it should be a great race Betty Parsons and of course a lot of the younger drivers in the Busch Series regular starting up front let's take a look at the Sears diehard starting grid row one the veteran Tommy Ellis a new track record in qualifying he is flanked by the youngster Bobby Labonte row to Harry Gant has led more laps here if anyone else along with a man making his first Speedway start at another bow dine that's what's taught back to Row three Robert Pressley now watch this young man he has come from a racing family and the great crew chief Sterling Marlin the Winston Cup veteran outside of Row 3 Row 4 last year's Rookie of the Year Kenny Wallace and the man with a hot I had two wins and I have three starts Rick mast back to row five Dana Patton's a good effort for this driver from up north Dave later the third coming on strong here at substitute rolled towards the car number 56 row six Tommy used to the veteran driver along with wisdom cup campaigner Kenny Schrader back to row seven Bobby mood and Bobby Hamilton relate Elton Sawyer andaman we talked about the yolk stir Steve Grissom currently fourth in the point standings row nine Jimmy Hensley and Chuck Bown that's the point battle first in the second starting inside and outside of row nine and back to wrote in the man who was so strong at Darlington just a week or so ago Mark Martin along with an up-and-coming driver Dave Rezendes look at the rest of the starting field Ned Jarrett a lot of experience back in the pack to your son Dale back there Greg stacks and others Jimmy Spencer now driving for the car number 75 that you know it's it's an unbelievable feeling when you have that much experience starting in the back of the panthan I think they'll make for some exciting racing especially in the early part of the event here at the Jerry but as many parts as mentioned these with these push man National regulars have caught up to the Winston Cup drivers now and this is not quite as much of a drivers trying to State Darlington and the experience don't be quite as much here and I think we will see the Busch grand national drivers you have a good hands of sale today I think one driver and Winston Cup that will mean to what way back in the pack there is Mark Clark the only four did the field he will be strong even though he started car back getting set for the green flag they're holding up one finger next time five will have the green flag as the safety car leads him around Tommy Ellis in the car number 99 the 1988 Busch grand national series champion is one once is here up on the one-mile track in the Loudon New Hampshire had a great run up there Jerry he has dominated from several other races including one at Myrtle Beach South Carolina where he led 199 and a half left and ran out of gas coming around to get the tempered flag so he he wants to prove that his win New Hampshire was not a fukken zone a one-mile racetrack his first Super Speedway victory so tommy Ellis is pumped up for this race here today tried to impress his sponsor googoo cam two clusters candy bars to hope that they'll play with it again next year Tommy Ellis would certainly like to get a good run here today and a young man who knows that this track can be offered good for first-time winners that is Bobby Labonte outside the foot bro Labonte set on the pole here back in the spring he remembers that years back a young man by the name of Rick mast came here in the spring and set on the pole and came back in the fall and picked up his first ever Busch Series win it could happen again and this time it could be Bobby Labonte getting set for the green flag the safety car now coming out of turn four a nice crowd on hand as they stand and wave and cheer for their favorite Busch Series driver feet back at the Monster Mile forty straw come charging down the 1,000 mile back straightaway here again wasting no time tries to dip petite Bobby the body but has to fall back in single file and turn four by Bobby Labonte staying on the outside trouble up in turn four Ron Laval jr. is fun the car number 98 around he loops it around and barely heavy traffic and some contact up there there the card him now to eat one of the Busch grand national mercy we have a parent to note milk carton because he's rolling again and no one else was involved there so no cosmic companion right he will get his car refire he'll have to hustle because the leaders are coming after me what's take a look and see what happened in look by the 75 every five car being driven by Jimmy Spencer as they came off the cardboard and then he battled the inside on the flat part of the racetrack but it looks like the damage is done we lost a lot of valuable time he will not lose a lap the leaders are about a half a straightaway behind him as Tommy Ellis now picking up where he left off in qualified second whose track record one hundred and forty four point two eight nine miles per hour and he has the dooku clusters viewing at the point of the field where Bonnie the Penrose often to the Oldsmobile the car number 44 he's the youngster 26 years of age and yes the younger brother of Winston Cup champion former Winston Cup champion Terry Labonte Joe Sullivan I talked about Mark Martin looks like he is off the pace and before going into turn three you might have just clip that he certainly was slow going down the backstretch in one car already in to hit his wart Burton's car 485 that Creek skip car behind the wall he has a burnt hipster and we are understand from some of our spotters it smelled like the Mark Martin car is sputtering a little bit there is Mark Martin who ran so well at Darlington remember just a couple of weeks ago NASCAR legalized some of the new parts for the Ford V station and made that v6 fairly competitive Don Kolff Ganim Lynchburg Virginia building the potent power of West met Bill Davis car he is certainly not running up the car right now I'm sorry 20 points period is currently running at 24th position he's going forward rather than backwards that's back there with Jack Ingram the five time national champion Ingram the right of your screen the card number eleven at the Skoll Chevrolet out of actual North Carolina Martin slowly became the backup foot Bobby Labonte on the move trying to stay was it a couple of car lengths of Tommy Ellis and look at what he's able to keep those will be all on the racetrack inveterate area that will be a very critical point after they run for 15 or 20 laps no cars breathing get heated up here sterling Marling going around carry him if you can get the car low of the racetrack she's definitely your advantage that with support place the Sterling Marlin decimate the passing game now back in fifth place he started third Sterling Marlin driving a car owned by Fred Turner out of Greensboro North Carolina only their fourth starting this year and that car they have run well everywhere they've been they've had trouble being involved in an accident at Daytona ever involved in a shut at Darlington with the Elton Sawyer car hit the toe and knocked out there's Harry Gant the car number seven who has led more laps here than anyone else at Dover Delaware in Busch Series racing 346 West and is yet to win he put on the pole here three or four times like four times he's won the pole up here he is the fellow who was up there and taken care of his car and now rod will bow remember he had the shunt early on with the car number 75 and Spencer and was fun they did not throw the caution flag he lost a half a lap that has now been put a lap down by Tommy Ellis Bobby Labonte now working on elephants that come off of turn four trying to get in those hundred they couldn't quite do it it became off the turn now Ellis trying to keep his car loan with the rape at melook and grips up just a little bit at the center of the turn Labonte kids down low and as time goes by that was certainly working in the band Bobby Labonte has impressed a lot of people not only is that in trouble out of turn to one car has tagged a wall and spending a lot of smoke a couple of cars spent trying to avoid the accident out of turn two and the caution is out that's the part number 77 which is being driven by Billy Clark from Farmington banks another car involved is Bobby moon the late-model stock car ace from Virginia his car having come into contact he was the first car to spun coming out of turn two tagged the outside wall on that car now it's coming to rest against the inside retaining barrier looking down the back straightaway we are under caution here for the first time today in the Ames split fire 200 push cry national series race a lot of great laps to come your way stay with us nip and Mark Martin had trouble early on and was slowing down a little bit let's check in the pits where Betty Parsons you have to change the sparkplug now just put the plug wire back on and everything is okay what happened to the black wire well I guess we lift it off man on this man for a change sometimes it's hard to be honest that's been in a case like that we were under caution here and of course that gave Mark Martin opportunity but here's what caused the caution a couple of cars looping this Billy Clark and there's green and white car number 77 and the car number 85 which is being driven by Bobby moon involved you can see Clark continued to spin around up on the outside of the track of the other traffic goes by both cars damaged pretty heavily getting set for the green flag once again here 14 laps complete of 200 which comprised this 200 mile event green flag waving from Pete Babb and tommy Ellis will lead him down to turn one tell us your leader that comes cloudy the body mr. Lee Harrigan hanging on the fourth dirty Farland grant very fast to practice before qualifying very thought he had to shout at the pole but there may be change on the card and went the wrong way for him so look for him to try to get up front here's mark now beginning to pass the card and to back to the pack and you can tell the whole state cylinders are heating ok now that Carolina food to make compared to five when you try to run a one-mile racetrack it marches on the move trying to go around the edge furry car just in front of em Tommy Hughes from some of those cars that make pit stops just put me to check the chassis adjustments on the car now Martin just zips by Ferrari and literally inhales Houston on the way by in turn three for that car always handled so well and running fast down the straightaway right now - so I think Martin will be able to be run through Stanford got a long way to go it's a wine arrived from back there where he is behind the rod labelled car to back up front where the leaders are they're coming out of turn four now zombie helath that he's gone by a lot of traffic now single-file we will show you exactly how far back Mark Martin is in the car number one the Carolina Ford dealers car there he is he's got a lot of hours before you get up in front but he'll pick his way through go down on the inside car works well down there so hi that will help him to get up through the back now he's going to try to go around the car number 71 Randy Lajoie on the out looks like Tommy Ellis is slipping a little bit and certainly Marla will also slide beneath Ellis Labonte the youngster takes over the point 26 years of age Sterling Marlin the veteran and now Alice's car and we mentioned before Ted he talked about the cars living up a little bit in the corners it split up coming into turn one and now harry gets working on the rear of Ellen's they hit return one yeah when the car was flipping up into turn they just look watch this baby he was a little bit loose and the time goes by to get looser and looser Valon look like he's having the problem he's dropping back to Berkeley her Jimmy Spencer car going five bricks his problem here today the convenience effective that's the Nescafe classic Pontiac number 63 now he was hoping they would run to get their first Super Speedway win of the year they had some good runs at Nazareth the new hand he's third in both places little smoke being coughed out of one car there and Mark Martin yes that's him peddling to the outside he is on the move working now trying to move around the outside of the car number 79 Dave Rose it then now their door a door and plumbing hook me Jack Sprague in the car number 30 40 inside him Martin will go to the bottom of the racetrack on a dirt floor and the fence armed their feet cheering for Mark Martin he's putting on one well if he tried it ties their hey there's a better hole down low they just turned their left and went down there the car is really working pretty drives his heart out everything she gets in and he runs it was hard to the pasta coach they should make him start in the back faulty brakes what a whale of a Shelly foot zone you're coming up through the back of the strong effort Bill Davis somewhat red-faced telling Benny Parsons if they had possibly left this pardon plug wire off not having a great day his Chuck Bown it's a brand new race car Jeff and Hubert Hensley the owners that car had the new car built around the speedway tis not performing as well as it was like back up front Bobby Labonte in the car number 44 Sterling Marlin in the Sunoco Oldsmobile paramos will be running one two I thought to have to give veiled area to plug he has come from 22nd to Kiev and have come up through the pack pretty good so as we watch these frontrunners here darling trying to figure out the grooves at Bobby Labonte is running in and move around in fact the bodies have a hole as well he's been supporting action heating up here at the Monster Mile top ten drivers Bobby the bunny showing away Marlin yet elephant Presley lots of laps to come stay with us back in Dover Delaware Bobby Labonte is showing the way but he's getting challenged from Sterling Marlin hicas drives on the inside to take the lead in Fern Creek Sterling Marlin goes around and takes the lead coming in a turn for an outstanding move by the Federation Cup campaigner sliding by the youngster Bobby the body action path appearance Martin Martin making his way through traffic that jimmy hensley early second of the post Eddie's and Jimmy Spencer behind him the Charlie Henderson you can read old reveal being driven this week by Jimmy Spencer Ernie Irvan had to concentrate on other efforts who has been driving this car earlier in the year the Spencer in for a one-race deal now Martin moving around to the outside that's Kyle Petty the wood fire Pontiac the head under on the sheet and paired by giri canada the crew did not have a perfectly good qualifying effort Ned and Kyle certainly not running up to par as he would normally be able to the track of this hill no usually that car on a bow or longer is that's the first mark now it moved up them to the important position from the back of the pack the middle of the pack in a relatively short period Marlon the cars owned by Fred Turner out of Greensboro North Carolina we mentioned shut balinese BC Sterling Marlin going by the donut check car never checked with one of the cars involved in the spinning actually one didn't have to expend a little bit ago but he had some fender damage so his car not running up the bar at the 87 current leader in the rookie standings but we mentioned the fact of Chuck Bown car was not running as well as they would have liked Hubert and Jeff Hensley had to be scratching their head a little bit let's check it in the pits with Benny Parsons Jerry punch I talked to Jeff into the crew chief on the Nescafe Pontiac and he said the car until they get a caution flag very very loosely well loose race car on a high bank one-mile track just gonna have to tiptoe and be careful they it's gonna get a caution flag here here's my little body trying to come back on the inside Sterling Marlin air again now has caught up to them Jeff's car might have been a little bit tight in the early going but the track coming to him now and Bobby Labonte he's going to pass Sterling Marlin but he fell falling back up over the outside mana strengthened Ron hunter injured in the car number 48 first early Marlin now Bobby Labonte in the car number 44 he's got a Karl Wegner v6 and behind him is Gant with a ruggle v6 three different engine makers to Oldsmobiles in a Buick why another Buick to do clusters car for Tommy Ellis really the top four cars you can throw a blanket over man Sterling Marlin seems to have the muscle coming off the corner but Labonte keeps that cart glued to the bottom in turn three well if the result of Arlen being up on the outside if he his engine has power rpms coming off the turn here again be they have to he jumped up on the outside of the body effects of ham Rebecca there again in the green-white numeral car number seven the skull bandit and Buick he had Whitaker own car Chris carrier the crew chief on that Chris and engineering Tennessee State University outstanding young fruit see there's a battle for third spot yes battle for the lead is Jen ties to make that move and Gerry one thing that might have happened in his chain to spark a little bit the Sun was shining just a moment ago and now they're a blitz entire smoke as the body went into the turn here they're again trying to make that move down on the inside and look at the smoke coming off of a body car maybe that in the car club levanti's car has suddenly slowed to puffs of smoke going into one another puffs of smoke coming out of turn two and the car rolling now slowly down on the apron tough break for Bobby Labonte his car and now get makes a slick move Oh Bernie Jeff Burton Burton being used and subjected the old a roll them dick maneuver in basketball Burton one of the slowest hearts on the little grouping yet takes advantage it will take the lead that was a great move there's a car number 44 the Penrose sausages at cobiella Bobby Labonte what a tough break for you now he is third in the point standings remember we talked about the points and how stuff that could be our Betty Parsons is standing by in their pin Betty an agent problem ooh it's hopeless tough break for Bobby Labonte was dad Bob and their hunt for a super speedway win and a great finish to the points there's Harry get back up front we mentioned again has run so well here in the past he is yet to win he fled so many laughs always something the gremlins seem to climb out of that viewing for the few laps to go and spells a feat now there's a man on the moon that snails here at one of the throne car he started his way back in the pack but we talking about Dale just a moment but also Mark Martin is back there Dale he's running seventh Mark Martin now has moved up to ninth and he is definitely gaining all the leaders Jerry even of course they've been dicing around up front there a little bit but coming through the traffic Mark Martin is running faster then here again Julia Martin Martinez Jarrett coming out of turn turn two there's Mark Martin here on a Ford dealers sponsored Ford Thunderbird and we understand they have resized for another year sponsorship Martin Martin making a charge one driver whose charges open for the day is standing by with many cars disappointed racecar driver do you know what happened looks pretty severe a number we blow up the main road powered running good the race we do not run in that heart it was gonna be close again you'll be back next week baby will they mix it up up front and that Tommy Elif now trying to make a move that would be for second spot beneath the car number 48 in Sterling Marlin and Jerry while Benny was talking to Bobby Labonte checking for five national testing the VistaVision blew the engine on his sole Chevrolet so he's behind the wall Todd bow tied in the cart over 81 you wouldn't believe it but this is the youngest of the Bodine I don't look there anymore mode I'm hiding up in jammu New York but Todd Bodine the youngster younger brother of bread of course in Jeff bowtie making a good move and here's the battle a couple of veteran drivers 32 that's the Nestle's crunch Pontiac for Dale Jarrett they're badly for sixth position Jarrett's running six mark Harkness running seventh they ran side-by-side Jerry for about two left Jarrett was on the outside so he was able to hold mark no and it looks like Greg back the problem in the humming of course having a problem and his bar likewise having a tough day there's Harry get going by the Gary Balu car to Royal Hill long machine car number seven we're in the early laps here at Dover Delaware in the Monster Mile for the gang split fire two hundred and Harry has shown the way lock the last last stay with us back at Dover Delaware Esther early in the Eames split fire 200 Busch grand national series of it Harry Gant show us away Tommy Ellis our new track record holes that are in second spot Todd load on an impressive rubber that 26 year old Robert Sterling Marlin and Rick mast battling for that force five six through ten Bobby Hamilton Dale Jarrett has made a move Jimmy Spencer Kyle Petty and Ken Schrader a lot of Winston Cup experience Ned rising toward the top yeah just a little bit surprising and here since the Winston Cup experience that's behind the wall and that is Mark Martin forward yes moments ago something must have happened to the engine on the car and made it hard to stand by Finnick just went down on five cylinders no you can rent it on fire today you watch the spark plug wire we're gonna get it way to go baby tomorrow there's Harry Gant car number seven what they got frontier he was able to pull away from Tommy Ellis who is now running in second player McMullen was up there for a while he dropped back to fifth place now but Gant just weaving in and out of traffic if he lapses card there are 17 cars now on the lead lap as he flutes around the car number 86 the Thane of happy has one win this year in Busch Series racing that came early in the year at Darlington South Carolina the track too tough to tame he has been here at Dover Delaware on the Monster Mile seven times Second Coming this past June wonder why somebody's listed so many these Winston Cup drivers was a Saturday race event but I think it's you like it does give them a little bit of advantage to get some track time where they love the race first of all Terry and yes when they're running the next day straight sex doing this for that and I think helpful Arup arrogant the leader moving back to car number 99 Tommy Ellison second spot he is in heavy traffic right behind him this Todd boat I got impressed with that young man Jerry did a great job running a 3rd place here today when he figured that Bodine Todd bow down talking about his only driven in six Busch Series races ever and he has never been on a Super Speedway never been on a track bigger than a half-mile one exception possibly of Richmond Virginia last week his best finish coming early in the year for Papa Don it was set at the Orange County here he is right in the top five in fact he is showing in third spot on his first ever Speedway start with open eyes I mean I think that mystery mrs. Bodine did a great job with those guns they started there because every one of them has talent they grew up in a racing atmosphere but I'm their dad owned the racetrack in upstate New York and jog speed late yep so they they grew up in it real with competition go out and everyone I would have power or put on that jab the prayer and that God now Tommy Ellis in the card over 99 the veteran campaigner the NJ racing googoo clusters feeling here at breakfast in car number 22 the blue and white Raven both Buick he's coming on he started back in the pack and is moving up now that he is in fourth position rich started into eighth position he dropped back for a little while but now he the car is really working for him and it seems to with the cloud over the Sun that's working the interbank this is a great racetrack for Rick mast so many good things have happened to him up here and of course you talking about good things happen to great people and talented young drivers its won twice in the past three Busch Series events they couldn't come at a better time as far as running these wases in front of the Winston Cup people who watch the Busch Series every week well out there you think they do watch these races and see he is doing quite out there and there have a lot of talent that has come out of his division now let me up to Winston Cup racing and we're going to see more of it next year Richmond officer that they of course will be driving they went the cup car full time for Richard Jackson next year the sole Bobby Hamilton suppose today is close to a deal for next year so they do impress people when they're running out here on Saturday afternoon and the castevet Rick only has two full-time employees working for him and those two men man a person and Nick pace do a tremendous job and that Raven boats view it getting prepared for the Busch Series racing now mass beginning to close in the home Todd Bodine mast Buick variety your screen at Spa nine in the car number 81 at the Ames department store in Pontiac right in front of them is the car number 99 of Tommy Ellis at second third and short all right together Gary I've said a moment ago the jackal so assemble a they were smoke coming from it but they did something to God he back out off the racetrack he back into pit now but Jackie Brooklyn is not out of the race before his many fans around the country we want to update upon that situation now he is going behind the wall my comments were correct later on you know some drivers just seem to take the third race track I guess we talked about how strong here again it's been over the years at Darlington and how well some of the drivers have run here Earnhardt at Dover well this tracks been awfully good to Rick bass three years ago it was very special to him tell us about it Rick somebody named Jerry first came in 87 I'd set a track record like ESPN did interview with me it's being summaries in there that interview Jerry comes to me later says Rick you one heck of a race car drivers when I talk to you no problem but when you got on the TV camera something's wrong you need to fix that so you know I fixed it you're hearing indeed he didn't and he went and took a Dale Carnegie course developed some self-confidence to be able to speak publicly and now he is probably one of the FET interviews in the physics not only that he is he is well liked by many sponsors and I think that has propelled him along with his driving talents into a great Winston Cup future he's very articulate now no question that help here's their exampleif Harry Gant back up front in the Skoll village we had Whitaker racing car and they are clocking up one by one here tearing in showing the way Tommy Ellis and others in the chase stay with him lots of motor oils claim to be tough wicker state puts it in writing ask your participating service center about Quaker States top lubrication guarantee only a tough motor oil can make it guarantee this top Quaker State is one top motor oil benefits managers like the mutual group why because our accurate record-keeping and attention to detail assures trouble-free processing the result fast efficient and see all the greatest plays all you have to do in catch NFL gameday an NFL primetime every Sunday on TSN welcome you back there's over Delaware Benny Parsons and Ned Jarrett I'm Jerry punch bringing you exciting Busch grand national series racing action and Harrigan is showing the way but they're mixing it up behind him that's the corner for anyone of thought vote on along with Rick mast and Sterling Marlin then Rick bass moves around blue Donn and takes over third and here Sterling Marlin car number 48 trying to take over fourth position young pugford I'm doing a good job now running in fifth place number 48 look like a puff of breath coming out of his car Jerry we'll see if it develops into anything and time goes by Rick bass now in third place Leader Harry Gant showing the way here just having moved by the car number 31 of Steve Grissom currently being shown forth in the point standings right in front of our leader he's only 13 cars left on the lead lap here at Sterling Marlin car number 48 pissed off the pace Dale Jarrett goes around him Marlin was running in the fourth position look black headed for the pit Sterling Marlin slowing down what a tough break for Sterling Marlin running sold well in the fire on those carnival halt I'm Kent rotas be a little early for a fuel stop and they go beneath the hood there is Steve Lord who is marlins Winston Cup crew chief along with some of the Busch grand national regulars there from the Fred Turner on team they'll not break for Sterling Marlin they'll have regular pit stops coming up Terry and about 15th of 20 laps but certain Odysseus unscheduled and the normally they would not go under the hood so it looks like it's terminal for Sterling Marlin here today airs Harrigan our leader again on last year's Rookie of the Year Kenny Wallace now Wallace is running in the prep position Jerry as very can't ride the loop down on the inside of him coming off the turn four so you can see how fast it has been running - laughs everything wait car there right now at about to do couple of drivers have had to exit early Ward Burton Joe Bessey along with Bobby Labonte Jack Sprague Greg sacks and Mark Martin it was so strong early on having park carolina ford dealers Thunderbird core Kenny Wallace doing everything he can to stay in the lead lap just hoping for a caution flag there's a lot of drivers out there that would like to see a caution we've only had one and that was the early in the race and to those tires are getting hot and worn and they're slipping and sliding a little bit as we watch the Rick mast now trying to go on the inside of Tommy Ellis best protected place the blue car in the raven most viewing Rick mast the googoo clusters Buick um Tommy elephant elephant takes advantage of the traffic and here Jimmy Spencer has moved up into the fourth position now he is bringing on the moon and these fence are driving the car number 75 the Charlie Henderson you can read Oldsmobile that's the black and dayglo orange colored car in the right of your screen the 22 car is rick mass then the Gugu cluster of viewing for Tommy Ellison trying to go around Dave Mader we're driving later running in the 13th position and the we're striving for Ronald Cooper who decided to devote more time to the family business later having his first time and they conclude the contact between Spencer and masse yeah they were lucky to get out of that situation Rick Mastana well it was job to keep that car under control likewise pitcher trying to keep his car from spinning they backed away a little bit they've run almost 100 laps here which is that you said Ned schedule pissed off probably coming up to the next dinner club left the fans will think that blue and white car at the back of this pack immediately he has called a lap down he had shut down both our lap down now he'll be running in the about the 14th position he has one left out let's take a look again it's a close call here that in turns one and two is a couple of cars now get together you can see Jimmy Spencer in the black car on the inside of brick bath and they touch a little Spencer goes sideways and get the car gathered back in before he gets up into mass if he had gone back into him Jerry I thank you what's fun both cars they're running it on a slower car and Spencer just couldn't quite get the car halted in time and they had some contact both of them being better and driver was able to hang on his MasterCard too much 22 he is in third spot Spencer is just behind them this Todd bow tie so you see the third force they have played cards there on your screen well they have not made a pit stop and we have completed 94 laps they've got to be concerned about fuel but I wonder how the tired of doing let's check into the pit to worry about the leaders up front and there they are of course there is Kenny Wallace trying to hang on Wallace who the carnivore 36 but Gant will slide by Wallace wouldn't like to be able to stay in front of Harrogate that's Tom Peck McConnell for Pennsylvania Robertson from in the blue and white Louisville car number 96 Peck at his best run of the year here early in the spring great top-five finish and he's currently running in tenth place as Harry cat tries to move on the inside of him to put him a lap down so now there's just him cards in the lead lap and if he does get around Peck that will only be nine cards in the leaflet now being passed by Jimmy Spencer in the car number 75 is the car that Ernie Irvan drove a couple of weeks ago on ESPN at Darlington and there's Todd Bodine worldly distinguish himself very well for the first time on the track bigger than three-quarters of a mile 26 year-old driver from Shula New York there is Kyle Petty good fire Pontiac along with Jimmy Hensley those tires are getting hot and worn I think this Rick mast problem right now he's beginning to Quitman Clyde will be an earlier year he was able to keep the car right now it's about off the racetrack in the turn but yet they're gonna do that and he's just waiting to go come and get some fresh start we mentioned they have run now 99 laps it'll be one time by our halfway a lot of the fans who watched Winston Cup racing will figure well how can they go that far will the whip take up cars and 358 cubic inch v8 engines these cars have 274 q became v6 engines with a small 390 cubic foot per minute carburetor therefore they can go roughly 110 to 130 miles it's depending upon how they have it jetted for fuel efficiency halfway that's time by is 100 laps are complete and now sometime in the next possibly five to ten laps will expect see some pit stops amid Dale Jarrett is they have right now in the midst is crunch Pontiac making his pit stop he was running in sixth place as John Irvin and the crew go to work they're chained to the right side power don't think that's what we'll see with most of the drivers when they make these green flag pit stop and they will cram every ounce of fuel in them they can pop the gift see them already got the tire change but they want to get enough fuel ants that he can go the rest of the way and that's the reason they're staying in as long as they are cooking without but he wanted to be sure than full again remember that's great for him at Darlington a couple of weeks ago here cow baby the flip fire and Aaron Terry get our leader who will be slowing down to make an entry on the pit road yes you saw a minute ago mark shook the gas man they're trying to get every drop of gas at Dale Jarrett's car and now here's here of any person Jerry punch he brings the scope and in doing it clusters prunella go to work John Jacksonville paprika the owners that car and we'll go to work on the right side for fella picnic over the week Elephant Man earlier in the here before too long they should give the lead almost 20 seconds for Tommy elephant goes back out about a two second differential here's our leader Jimmy Smith sir we might mention that Jim Harmon is the new crew chief for that Charlie Henderson car at Harvard you might remember was the crew chief for many years for Harry Gant when he set up a poll here well here his sister slamming on the brakes he hit the car barely stopped in the fifth and now he's scampering around Harvin and the crew trying to get the tires James will have the clocks on the removal crew on the brakes working on the car at Harbor stepping back across the wall as they're conducting operations talking there's no Jimmy Spencer lengthy stay in the pit they finally five seconds he's hitting all the hits just three or four pips down you can see his already lost the breaks up that didn't help him in it that's the man holding the flag out there or the board got out of the way but he gonna stop pretty good hit a good position there was Dennis Rader behind me making a pit stop at the same time and they're battling up front there it's Rick mast and todd bodine neither of ode cars have met an entry onto pit road as of yet getting excellent gas mileage they go by the Billy Clark car number 77 Todd Bodine of course remember now Todd Bodine and Kyle Petty coming out of the same racing stable so that car their own cars only have one crew here so they have already cheated pal petty attacks pal petty taking that far behind the wall this moments ago so they'll talk but I'll be able to make his pit stop whenever he needs to right now he's not thinking about making an entry into the pit you see Rick mast wave enriches hey I met at the Kent Road Todd so back off that guy will be slowing down God wants the lead lap he's got to get to do it as Rick when he comes across the start/finish line like everybody else he'll fit right fine powder coating there yet the information content you just put on the car they don't have one down through the rear winter like a lot of the cars have so he weeps inside and made a little adjustment honey right rear tire there's here that's got a tough some some extra time to guess it's already hit that right rear toss off will cost him a lot of time 25 seconds almost 4 ring man they made an adjustment there and we will wait for the card number 81 to make me three on the pit road looks like Todd Bodine and Tom tech number 96 as they are getting rid of the myth the victory into the pit hotfoot I'm early toast the car in stop but on the pointed jack goes under the car gasoline going it out till the routine stop no problem it fits up in wool trouble riding failure get this car out is summaries looks like Salyers car may install there is here again our leader but a great bits up it was a great gift op but he lost a loop into that time when he did have to slow down there on we are past the halfway point here is over Delaware in the Ames twin fire two hundred everyone played a pitch thought it's gonna get serious don't go away while we're talking about but this is the sooner or ground electrolyte they mark the spark plug on the a venereal worthy making sure that when the spark plug inside the ground electrode has to be the wrong the piston will hit the spark plug and close together marvelous not too far it Oh that is injection Sparkle I didn't know that Benny thank you I appreciate learning then I'm sure the fans out there will do certainly a lot of work goes into preparing one of these everything just right unfortunate that start tenth of those spark plugs you won't have along that no you certainly won't you allow the shortly look here at Jerry Kenny Wallace after they made him stops back out in front of married and he had gone a lap down but he made a good pit stop John back out in front again again is not been able to get around him currently Wallace is running in the ninth position there nine cars on the lead lap Jimmy's going to be saying Harry go away don't play with someone else he's just trying everything he can to stay on the lead laughing he's gonna leave lap by good maybe fourteen and a half fifteen feet will show you the second place car that is Tommy oh it's our pole sitter running second right now a great run for the Richmond Virginia driver former Series champion and Gary the googoo clusters sponsorship from standard candies and right behind him net is the car number 81 of Todd Bodine who is running in the third position but I'm having a breakdown here this afternoon running in the fourth Division maybe car number 75 of Jimmy Spencer he got around Dale Jarrett a moment ago Jerry Springer Fiat Henrik Matt Bobby Hamilton Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace those are the nine cards that are in the lead lap example that some of the cars go through is what we call our field snapshot will allow you fans they'll be able to pick up your favorite car and driver we will shot there Pete Babb on the flag stand this is watching the push cars coming out of turn four the area's hairy head again dogging the rear deck I'm Kenny Wallace it is Pontiac Wallace has resigned with Foxwood preserving for 1991 they will change the color of that car from the green white and yellow to primarily a black car with some green and yellow next year now Kenny Wallace in car number 36 we thought about the move Kenny Wallace grunting I've got three green and black car runs brought together that many years ago was that that you have salute they would put green on a race car you really would that's the car that if that car if Kenny Saylor's looks like a land yacht it's going to Monte Carlo he used to run a long time ago of course there's a few years back and now he's known the downsized cars that's the car that won here at last September Kenny straighteners driving now back the battle the car number 99 Roman our battle he that is Tommy Ellis is pulling away from Todd Bodine and you might be pulling up over there in heaven damn has been that heavy traffic up in front of him Jerry I think he is Jamie Palmieri again now damn is trying to put that left home Kenny Wallace as we watch toddler died in car number 18 one around doing a great job takes a good Lahaina rapper intro there is todd bodine will drop back and pick up the next car which is be the condom at 75 and giving Spencer who is in the fourth placements are having pads Dale Jarrett moments ago take that for spot away Charlie Henderson own car and a great job by Jim Harmon and the crew and get that car dialed in and back in fifth position great effort by the crew there the Nestle's crunch crew John Herbert and force that driver Dale Jarrett and right behind him the car number 22 Rick man Rick running in the fifth position and some of the drivers you see who have not had good days here at the Monster Mile at a race Bobby Labonte of course who had a great run going early on with engine trouble Mark Martin likewise champion Jackie Herrmann Sterling Marlin Kyle Petty Gary Balu Randy Lajoie some of the latest drivers position here at Dover Delaware Dale Jarrett trying to make a move inside the armor meet car number 12 of Jeff Burton Jarrett went a little high going into the turn and bass took advantage of it tries to move on the inside now as they go down the back threaten him to turn three Jarrett pretty high has been running low that piracy they look big down there so he might be able coming off the turn Dale Jarrett getting Rick mast a lot erasing her new toys the crowd is still plenty of laps to go here and Jared did you said in it his car really sliding up between turns wanted to yeah you a little bit higher than he wants to I think he likes the acosta so it's getting left that tires on that car and make it make a little bit of an agenda the green flag stop they just put two tires on filled up with gas not knowing if their vehicle and of course the battle for fifth spot as Rick fastest taking fifth away from Dale Jarrett they have been chasing Harrigan has been again afternoon we mentioned that he has led so many laps here at Dover Delaware will show you where the fourth fifth and sixth place cards are but there's the man they're chasing Harry in almost a straightaway separation again now working over the Kenny Schrader car he has gone around Kenny Wallace to put Wallace a lap down and so there are only eight cards and the lead lap was freighter the last part early though they're only seven cars on the lead lap now Harry Gant showing the way here in 438 laps complete at the Monster Mile and great Busch Series competition here on the one-mile super speedway again showing the way here at dover delaware the ings foot fire 200 there that Whittaker all smile this car is up front so compiled a special friend problem kenia motor oils survived the punishment today's an intense dish on circulating it twice as fast working it twice as high breaking it down and causing it to lose its viscosity that's why you need an oil with the additive that does more to help prevent viscosity breakdown kestrel excel law the oil engineer for today's car hell yeah show the way here in Dover Delaware in the Ames put fire 200 riding high wide and handsome they call him handsome airy from Taylorsville North Carolina and that's gold viewing trouble up and turn fourth three cars involved heavy impact they presented the car number 79 and the second is third place car Jimmy Spencer at the 75 and a tremendous impact for Tommy elif in the car number 99 in front of his car nearly sheared away let's take a look and see what happened that it looked like the rim resented might've blown an engine going in there and Tommy Ellis ran him and hit him hard in the back and then spits are taken to Highline and came in and hit helis in the back heavy damage to all three of those automobile misfortune for three hours will be a break for a number of people they will make an entry onto pit road lap 144 there's our leader Harry Gant others coming down pit road to trying to take on the left side tires needed rubber on the left side of these cars we're under the caution for the second time today here in Dover Delaware a violent impact have been for here again the others off the road lots of racing that comes your way stay with awesome speed outstanding skills pick it up where he left off his moments ago but there's a lot of drivers right on him this tabby had about an 8 or 9 second lead when the caution came out and now Rick mast started to put the pressure on him quick mask with a good hip stop for left on IR series moved into second place he was running fifth before this caution came out of course in second and third place cars were taken out in the wreck hot foot I'm still running in third place Dale Jarrett is fourth and Bobby Hamilton CF Gumby five cards implement clown battle heating up up front is now mass puzzles and a half a car length one drivers got to be a little bit hot about his day Tommy Ellen standing by with Benny Parsons Tommy are you okay yeah Benny I'm all right you know good good class the Buick was running really good we were just a matter of time before we will have a three call race and we were running good and it's just a bad day bad team but it's been a bad year we're regrouping see what happens the rest of the season is just it just the same in man to have today another fella who was involved in he actually was Jimmy's mentor I found him we're sitting the fluid engine Tommy got any oil night I had nowhere to go and I hit Tommy you know that you can read Oldfield was running Real Quiet my first ride in that today I gotta thank Charlie Anderson and the crew Jim Harmon the crew chief you know they did a heck of a job on the car out I think we had to race one and Tommy Elvis to go find any better than that I mean Tommy Hill is a great race driver and Spencer likewise but they're trying to heat up the battle here in Todd Bodine the youngster making his first ever Speedway start in Busch Series competition that first time on the Speedway since he ran a couple of the news sports fundraisers what they call a NASCAR sports for the - all Speedway pennies second twice but in this kind of competitions his first race with this kind of drivers doing a great job and the hair again is pulled away a little bit from Rick pass but Rick has his hands full width' odd benign and his trainer got into the wall a moment ago coming off the turn board coming off the turn too now but apparently did some damage to his Kodiak Chevrolet he was running in sixth place one lap down but now to go straighter on the outside there bubbling on another car and they get together that Steve Grissom down on the inside he car number 31 then Schrader hit the end of the wall just enough to do some damage to his car and he's headed into the pit that behind the wall tough break for the defending champion of the Ames flip fire 200 straighter they're getting service from the Kodiak crew típico Hough his crew chief that's the car the Kenny Schrader himself home no right-rear his day is over with another driver whose day is going very very well as Harry Gannon the stove ended mooing yeah showing the way leading over Rick mast epochal die yes the fans are going issues don't know why here's two McCain from the tiny and the small for McCain jr. juice it's the best taste of all McCain jr. juice from superb concentrate is just enough juice and deliciously great so let's have a junior and drink from the box uh-oh time to split here comes the Box McCain Jr juice the just enough size if you hang out with Canada's top builders you'll see they were lying on Makita high torque tools corded or cordless tools Nikita's got the torque to power its way through anything and with over a hundred service centers you'll never get caught with your tools down skyscraper or tree house Makita makes it easy Makeda more power to either packets over Delaware for Busch grand national series racing siding racing on the Monster Mile Harry Gant final hold on to pick up his first ever win on this one-mile oval in Busch Series competition there is the second and third place car that's Rick Madsen second place and in third is the try number 81 of Todd bowtie they have been mixing it up back there for a second spot master veteran picking up his first ever push here he went here back in 1987 he settled the hall in the spring race and came back to win this race in September when separation you see between get the leader in Rick mast in car number 22 I don't know if Dan has backed off once he got out he picked up a pretty good lead there but he has stabilized area so I don't know him Rick mast has picked up his feet a little bit or Afghan has has just decided okay this is as fast as I need to run he's been back there and keep this distance between us but master fighter picked up a little bit because he has opened up a couple car lengths over Todd but I'm he was trying to catch him about five laps ago there you see the front for cars a top of your screen that Dale Jarrett the Bentley's trunk Pontiac later at Darlington and at Charlotte earlier in the year to see the cars they file by one by one pick up your favorite driver a car that come out of turn four it right for do their in turn one there's the car number 77 looks like Gant that's actually not here against the Skjold sponsored car of Billy Clark one of the wish-granting north there comes here again and indeed Ned it looks like Rick bath trying to pull away a little bit from Todd botan is closing again yeah they're definitely game dad is running about a tenth of a second slower than certainly have time there about 30 cooldown we mentioned Harrigan has run here seven times his best finish is second back in the June back in the Judith in here and there's a they're mixing it up back in the packet atropine Griffin economist 31 that's for sixth and seventh spot at the start of 96 of Tom pecking a peck and his best finish of the year finished fourth year in the spring race Grissom a two-time winner in 1990 the big mama meat snacks automobile for the driver the car number 31 and Rick mass is closing up up front in fact mass and photon are closing on here again Hillier was about eight karlitz is down now to about four yeah yep perhaps to do the globe in our proof and Daniel share this wonder mr. go into turn three and suggestive right now in size of a fraction bet joining about a group and a half power and it's working for it I don't believe harry gets waiting on anybody if he could pull away now he was and he seems to be pretty helpful against running on the very bottom of the racetrack and mass really drives it deep into turn one the car wagging the tail a little bit he gathers it back in and still closing well when possible victory up there as he thinks dad continued to go low that game is one of the master a cruise on the racetrack said he feels comfortable I guess running down looking for a new mirror becomes the second proof is working better Rick mast is definitely working benefit and how high he goes and get they brought down on the inside and mast is able to pick up on him however Campbell slide out front him coming off of the turn he'll eventually get he picked it breaking that way move up now maybe a car won't work up there he might have already tried it might not work a pair of Buicks up front right behind them the potty active means department store of Pontiac of Todd for dime and there's a battle again for the six to the seven spot and their car number 25 back there that is jimmy hensley in the car number 36 and going beneath Hensley that's Kenny Wallace and that would be for the eight position as he moves up through there Wallace had just on the left down but long before that caution jarred we thought he got his lap back but he didn't and he made a late hit stop and so he was back at the back of the pack trying to come back up through that we watch complete brought cars now and they're single-file as the second and third place car closing in on her again it's going to get accepted stay here is get tried to hold a ball so go away more to come some things are more important to your peace of mind than you realize like knowing how to maintain regularity without drugs or medication but do you know nutrition experts recommend increasing your dietary fiber intake a drug-free way to promote regularity and did you know that all brand it's part of a balanced diet with a very high source of dietary fiber Kellogg's all-bran every day a drug-free way to promote regularity it's always satisfying even though that you fixed the problem which other people weren't able to do Neel Simpson is a tuneup specialist for Goodyear and letting them know exactly what's going on with their car because this day and age the cars are so complicated that most of the customers don't have a clue what's wrong with their car to sit it isn't working properly and you want to be able to let them know what the problem is without giving new double-talk I'm here diagnostic Juna signed sealed and certified by Goodyear back at the Monster Mile for Busch grand national series racing and it's heating up up front arrogant tried everything he can to hold off the charge of brick mass in another battle back in the packets the battle for a sixth spot Ned and that car number 31 of C Grissom and Kenny Wallace making a move Wallace has come from the back of the pack after making a late pit stop during the caution and trying to inside of Griffith qualif is number one in distance theories and here's Todd bird I'm trying to make the bunt move on Rick bass per second put on the car number 81 the black and white numeral pontiac mass the white and blue car battles everywhere they're really dicing it back in Kenny Wallace nearly sliding up in the time he uses the car number six that's the battle for six pot that gives Grissom acacia go away by four car lengths Tommy did some is quick laps down Terry here position Robert Pressley walk 2011 trying to hang there between Wallace and the carnival 31 and there's Chuck found our points leader Nakata number 63 watermelon cart number 98 and right in front of him the fella who actually is chasing Hensley in the area failed in the points that is Jimmy Hensley in the car number 25 okay the Hinton is one left town being shown here at the exposition so now on his who laps down being shown in the 12th position the four positions separate ups open if they finish this way hence we would pick up a few more points not as we need to take that third the lamp relay and rod lamelle doing a little bitter tracking there is a rear that car number 98 slipping inside did a great job again on that car back in he's in the far right here picture a minute ago they're the two drivers involved in the points battle 63 and 25 and back up front they're in the battle for sixth there is 36 Kenny Wallace now trying to move underneath the 31 and Grissom there is Hensley and bounce after him we've gone to win the championship this year that might be a car owner it might be a driver Jimmy Hensley the driver but hold the car number 26 three the just bound drive all in the family from here Martin will Virginia and Kenny Wallace looks like he's gonna make it well he's been by the cart number 31 a half a dozen times and it looks like Grissom always buckled fine back out of turn two let's see if it happens again that's bris them on the outside the car number 31 Steve Grissom and Kenny Wallace two young drivers coming into that picture he is in the same plane as these cars that success faith that we're seeing and look at mater credit no she to go three wide but he's not adopted also in that battle for position as well here in the balloon fight car so we're looking at the big seven that's mater the condom of 56 the Speedway Motorsports Buick 35 year old four-time all-american Challenge Series driver from may lead Alabama he's in the red and silver over old car number 56 a third car there and that 5 car pack you're watching first one is Steve Kenny Wallace then made her then Hensley then Chuck Bown a horse bound you said is two laps down Jerry let me correct myself I said that was for six mystical Sabbath place is pretty far out in front of this group of cars but it is 7% that we're watching here now there are the seventh eighth ninth and tenth place cars and we won't let those cars pass out of you will pick up the lead car that is Harry Gant Scholl abandoned Buick Ed Whitacre car and showing the way here is laps are winding down a little over 10 laps to go get trying to hold off Rick massive Gosselin I can get think if we first enter with the Monster Mile we'll find out when we come back live in isolated areas they visit the city to take in the culture get your motor oil take the heat when today's engines which high running temperatures motor oil can bin out break down and leave engine surfaces unprotected but capital XLR has been engineered to maintain a lubricating film even and extreme engine temperatures at chest roll we believe if you can't take the heat get out of the engine one tough customer here again ill holding off the charge a car lengths away Rick Matt don't know if Rick's just sitting there riding and waiting for an opportunity maybe to make a move too soon there's have less than ten laps to go he's going out to move pretty quick Jerry if he has anything left he won't have anything left but they're coming up on some pretty heavy traffic now sitting left on other cars and don't know who the damage that will be on the racetracks a little bit for what he was running earlier he saw maps coming up using that second groove and worked well from a so gas decided hey maybe I better go up there as well remember back in his formative years Ned arrogant was first racing here in some of the old late-model sportsman races and of course when he first got his starting Winston Cup racing here this will attract that really propelled Harry Gant into the forefront he ran a card owned by Jack Beebe and a Winston Cup race and ran what they calls a Gantt grew but up against the wall everyone said this was hairy hands racetrack did he win here every time he came well he's won twice in the Winston Cup competition but he has yet to go to Victory Lane and push sirree efforts and he's about five laps away from doing it for the first time today and he has led more laps in this competition than anyone else but it just laughs it's getting closer I think Ed Whitacre told him before the races they went out there and they measured the car before the race he'll see an ill-fitting victory lane so if you go ahead with it we'll get it in there somehow then we got the rail day out in Jersey front guess it will be opening up another lap on here five cars in the lead lap three Oliver on your screen they'll chariot about three seconds behind back that Bobby Hamilton double three or four seconds behind Jerry and right in front of the leaders that battle continues between the car number 31 that is Steve Grissom and Kenny Wallace young drivers are going to hear a lot about here in the future years in Busch Series racing it probably with some stuff racing Steve Gant mass and bowtie that's front three cars now close again and laps are winding down to three laps to go a lot of traffic in front here again this could have an effect now Harry is gonna have to get this traffic very smoothly and pick them off one by one and still keep one eye peeled back there Rick man yeah these guys are up here for having four positions themselves so that can't just pull over and get out of the way because they do their competitions going to pass them so Harry this one that's be careful going through that traffic state major boost down in the car number of 56 and gifting room up on the outside now mater's a nice clean car right and put a hem is Kenny Wallace an 8 then comes Grissom in 7th and he will get the white flag this time was two laps to go last time by we'll watch for harry gintz to get the flag next time bye from our chief Blackman the wallet best move over give it the Running Room panini now Steve Griffin moves to the inside the track I'll tell you that was that the gentlemen we move on both of those drivers Park and let the frontrunners go by that was that was great Harry gas coming out of turn four trying to hold off the car number 22 and get takes the checkered flag here at Dover Delaware Harry Gant and the Ed Whitacre Cruz celebrating there in the fifth Ed Whitacre has finally gotten the victory at the Monster Mile and there's the happy hair again getting polluted with a big wave from Rick mast we'll talk to Harry when we come back at McCain we wanted to tell you right on the pack about our new improved easier faster bigger thicker juicier here's our series wrote headland winner's circle interview with Benny Parsons against second Busch grand national victory of the year that was getting about time you know we run a bunch of seconds and they had Whitaker's a scope and a Buick but this time Jim Rutgers had us a good engine today and this car was set up a perfect block done the artist guy took it easy all day the right there to last and I changed tires I was a little bit looser but I couldn't go any quicker if I did I wasn't gonna make them 40 laps so I just watch the Rick I said is he play impossible or is he going past me and I just kept running what I could run and he didn't seem to be making a move either way and then at the last hour more buzz in traffic so I'll read it I still didn't get away from it well hair again it was a great race congratulation Thank You Benny and I'll just gonna say thanks to Ed Whitacre team the Skoll Buick and you know Detroit gasket and starvin Marvin you know we're just tickled have all Delaware where Harry Gant had just picked up his 13th career Busch grand national series web but then a great run for some young drivers talk but I'm in particular finishing third in his first ever super speedway event we think Jimmy Hensley coming home in tenth place he was second in the bunt standing still remains there it's just now and comes home 12th for him the only able to pick up seven points on the leader here today let's take a look at those points of course Chuck Bown still leading his lead but now by 252 points he bristled moved the third spot why because Bobby Labonte finished 37th he will drop back to fourth and Kenny Wallace into the top five on the strength of an eighth place finish here after drive that from there the school band the crew gets to put a car in victory lane 50 year old hair again picking up his second win of the year for penny Parsons in the pits and Ned Terry of the booth I'm Jerry punch saying so long from Dover when you get a solid tough but you're like Tom browning and you let him off the hook he normally settles down and makes it a pretty long day for that's what he did today so it's not to his colon they're all tough in the shadows but no especially no Dylan Myers throwing hard it makes it that much harder to see no brownie one that bad but no nose guys come in you know there was really almost lights out and well the full story on the day in sport we come back you're away at 11 o'clock Eastern Time on Sports Desk join me along with Chris Stevens then and we'll see a little bit later on TSN all right now something terrific is happening at Petro Canada when you purchase for 39 cent force of canada postage stamps for just $1 something magical happens each pack of stamps you purchase contributes to the scouts cannabis replanting programs part of their commitment and ours to a cleaner greener Canada these are two funds to purchase all eight packs of stamps a postage stamp has never cost a little or meant so much petrol Canada committed to Canadians lady and gentlemen start your engines with only five races remaining in the 1990 Busch grand national series schedule current point leader Chuck Bown has good news he is back on the short tracks where he has won six times this year the bad news is rebound is that this man Jimmy Hensley is focus competitor is that his home race track he lived just nine miles away in horse pasture Virginia if Haley can win today it'll be a great race for him yes p.m. the world leader in motor sports coverage presents speed world we're in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia sign I'm one of the nation's oldest yet most picturesque short tracks the Martinsville Speedway host for today's butch grand national series t-rex 150 hello everyone I'm Jerry punch and welcome getting exciting Busch grand national series short track racing here in Virginia now most of these drivers cut their teeth on the short tracks and so a lot of short track veterans will be trying to hang on to the points they've garnished all year long Chuck Bown our current point leader trying to keep in front of a challenging Jimmy Hensley and Steve Grissom and a couple of other young drivers Bobby Labonte and Kenny Wallace rounding out the top five I'm joined again today by two-time NASCAR champion Ned Jarrett and Ned the points battle certainly an issue today but also a lot of other stories up front some young drivers trying to make a name for themselves before this season is over Edie barrier and Jeff Burton both qualified very well for this race Jerry neither of them has a victory in this series and it couldn't come at a better time than here today as they try to impress some potential sponsors because they don't have their plans worked out for 1991 meanwhile the point leader Chuck Bown had a poor qualifying run here because of circumstance is a car blew an inch and two or three cars in front of him in qualifying and he had to go out on the slick track he was one of the fastest cars in practice but now he finds himself mired back in the field so he has his work cut out for him if he's going to get up toward the front here today I'll talk about a victim of circumstances take a look at our pit reporter Benny Parsons that's 150 lap race I'll take a good look at him now baby tell us why Jerry just told him a hundred and fifty laps that's only 75 miles on his half-mile racetrack if any driver comes in and visits me in the pits today they are not going to win so I guess I'll just have to say you're play solitaire all day man if I had a red jacket Benny Benny the black 9 the black nine that's it the black down on the red 10 you got it big guy what a tough job in the pens for Benny Parsons today 150 laps of Busch grand national series racing action coming your way busy Rex 150 a purse of over $75,000 NASCAR brought to you by Molson export nothing halfway about it X says it all clean is rude I must have told him a million times you're going nowhere till you clean up your room then we ran out of cheese he put such a tiny boy always bringing home stray Oh Mohsen special drive the evolution idea this is a research laboratory it fries and fails to make casserole motor oil breakdown it's the place where Castrol is torture tested to meet the requirements of those who punish motor oil the most you the everyday Canadian driver we are back in Martinsville Virginia in Martinsville Speedway for the CRX 150 let's take a look at the Sears diehard starting grid becoming a 16 different poll winner for 1990 and qualifying the raven boats buick at ninety point four nine nine miles per hour rick mast will lead the charge along with robert pressley outside a row one row to the veteran Tommy Ellis Lee youngster Jeff Burton from South Boston Virginia back to Row three young drivers and barrier and Bobby daughter some of the hungry men that Jarrett was talking about moments ago Jimmy Hensley the veteran inside row 4 and Max pressed wood the Woodson racing series national champion back in row five Elton Sawyer in the Winston Cup competitor Jimmy Spencer road six the three-time winner here Tommy Huston and Kenny Wallace row 7 five time national champion Jack Ingram and the young sophomore sensation Bobby Labonte wrote a dave mater and Billy Stanley back to row nine Wayne Patterson from late-model stock car rights and Bobby Hamilton wrote in there's our point leader Chuck Bown along with McConnell Park Pennsylvania driver Tom Peck row 11 Jack Sprague Dale Jarrett watch him to come from deep in the pack wrote well sixel units are running are cafe and Steve Grissom back to row 13 Jay Fogelman young driver who will make a name for himself very much next year in this series along with Patti Lewis Bobby moon late model stock car ranks and Tommy Sigma's in Hickory Speedway area back to row 15 Dave Resendez in Mike Porter making a reentry into racing from Princeton West Virginia row row 16 LD Audigier along with joe nemecheck getting set for the green flag and then a 150 lap sprint race here no pit stops no fuel no tires just turn left any parking said if they haven't come into the pits they're in trouble they do not plan to make pit stops just flat out running from start to finish and Jerry we got a national champion the Western racing series national champion backs press wood in the field here today had a good qualifying run starting up into eighth place so it'd be interesting to see he has run a few short track Busch grand national races but now that he's the national champion a lot of eyes will be on him crowd on their feet here at a good afternoon crowd in Martinsville Virginia getting ready for the green flag Pete Babb waving that flag and the rock bridge path Virginian driver Rick mast trying to pull a heavy door the door with Robert Pressley in turn one Presley trying to use that outside groove to spring him off the turn but it didn't quite work as Masshole going down in the end he should be able to get him going into turn three but look at Christmas hang it tied up there trouble in turn three three four cars involved heavy contact one car number 27 spun there is Rick mast he is likewise been tagged he has come to rest in the front straightaway car number 22 that's our pole sitter getting some heavy contact in the right front you could the Buick has been shoved in someone's and right front he's trying to get the car refire now he gets the car moving a little bit there's Rick mast likeable driver 33 years of age from Virginia what a tough break for the rape and boats car over the first lap that really is too bad because he was so pumped up as a new Winston Cup ride for 1991 came here to win the pole and very unfortunate of course look what happened back in the pack here on that first lap hit it at the turn three where the backstretch now that going into three Tommy Huston in the blue and white number six down on the inside but Jimmy Spencer in the car number 75 the black car looked like got tagged and then the 27 of Elton Sawyer gets tagged by Spencer the car number 56 slides into Spencer that his name mater later involved Spencer involved now let's take a look at what happened in front with Rick mast he and Presley come together mass car slides out of control when he's coming across it a little tag the pit ball right front then right rear all want to break for mass Rick mass has made his way to pit road let's check in with Benny Parsons Jerry there's heavy damage to the right front of the automobile they've knocked the fender completely off the car they're underneath the car now trying to figure out just how bad the suspension is damaged man Everson is telling them what they need to do they need to put a tire back on so they can I'm not in the crib crew play I got to get out of the way the car is going on jacks then so he's going to be here for a laboratory the car is going on jack stands here well so much for your game of solitaire Benny Parsons so much for a great qualifying effort for that man Ric Mass he sits on pit road here in lap number three we told you there was the exciting short track racing action to come here Wayne we only got one lap under green here back with plenty of pushkar National Series racing action after this word from our sponsor when you get engaged do you want to find the right words what is that we go off marry you also want to find the right diamond bank wait Mike I'll successful merger well let's go off to the ranch and get hitched but how much do you spend on a diamond for the woman you love again a good guideline is two months salary will you marry me yes Jeff ask your local jeweler about the two months salary guideline a diamond is forever here's to Akane from the tiny and the small for making Junior juice it's the best taste of all McCain Junior juice from superb concentrate is just enough juice and deliciously great so let's have a junior and drink from the box Oh time to split here comes the Box McCain junior juice the just enough size back in Martinsville Speedway we are under caution for the first time this afternoon a number of cars involved the two heaviest damage those of the pulse at a Rick mast to a still on pit road in the back straightaway and the car number 75 of Jimmy Spencer now Dave mater has moved his heart down the backstretch hit there picked on the front end back straightaway here at Martinsville Speedway so they are pitting in the back the field now single file behind the pontiac safety car as robert pressley the youngster from Asheville North Carolina trying to pick up his first win of the 1990 year and in second overall Busch Series conquest here he won a year ago in August in Orange County Speedway and his rookie season last year getting back to green feet Babb waving the green flag in the field comes grumbling how to turn four as opposed to the way it was the fourth year they start single file this time so loading for operating room for Robert Pressley fare he gets plenty of pressure from Tommy Ellis Tommy Ellis in the red white car cardem 99 they averaged 92 over 90 miles an hour they robbed 115 miles per hour on the straightaway two very long straightaways and very very tight turn the lead system there is Jeff Burton in the car number 33 is barrier that's the car number 25 of Jimmy Hensley and now contact short track racing action at its best as Ellis and Presley get together now Burton things better and falls back in single file here's Jimmy Hensley trying to make the move as his barrier Christ grew up on the outside Hensley and the blue are number 25 defense affairs and post-polio just a minute ago that blew up out of turn cornet and let's just get into the back of the Alliance trucking our number 59 of Robert Pressley and Vincent spinning around but it's played up a little bit good battle at the comi Houston the car number six Bobby Labonte 10th 11th and 12th Bobby Labonte in the Penrose car number 44 trying to move inside of Houston in a Buick lomani the 44 car the 8th is Bobby Hamilton young man who won last year at Richmond Virginia in this car his only Busch Series win today well I don't know what the problem might be but he is back peddling jacking were passed him a few laps ago Jack has run away from him there's quite a distance between these two cars that receive race back side by side in the next star up 40th Jackie bro now Bobby Labonte looks like it's the measure of history he comes back up on the outside then a lot of cars behind number 47 dentist and rich and here it checked out our point leader trying to make his way a fifth back he's back there with Dale Jarrett and some of the other drivers there is Steve Grissom currently third in the points standings the card number 31 he is right behind the point leader those cars are back in about 40 back up froggy C back up in front of those cardigans say that battle for 10th 11th and 12th as Bobby Hamilton in the car number 8 moving underneath the Buick of Houston Houston the winningest active driver at Martinsville Speedway today is won three times in Busch Series competition and as you said in Gibson's car is not dialed in at least early on normally would go towards the French sherry but he's going a little bit backwards right now he has the car back on the inside prove now we'll see if he's able to run in that groove he got caught on the outside there and probably the body hand here two cars battling for 14th and 15th that's Dale Jarrett and Nestle's crunch car number 32 and found in the Nescafe classic spotty act they are in 63 car they are 14th and 15th currently now they qualified back in the pack and you may be wondering well why these cars were running so well aren't they up in the top 10 there's a look at Dale Jarrett a two-time winner this year apparently being shown in 14th place with Dale remember when he won in Garland he qualified 28th a couple of weeks ago at Richmond he qualified 2017 Ranjan qualifying that well this year but the car is run well doesn't qualify well at all of course we mentioned shut down was the victim of circumstances in qualifying he started in 19th position here today but he has the best race car he can just get up a new head and Steve Grissom just to the right of your screen that's the big momma meat snacks Oldsmobile Grissom a two-time winner is we are they speedway talkin on the tractor debris over in turn to reason for this caution and that indeed will help these cars you're watching right now Jarrett bound and Grissom we were just talking about these fellas trying to make their way to the front that will give them a chance to line back up single file and get a running start at the lead cars lap 15 we're under caution for the second time today here at Martinsville Speedway debris in turn two Robert Pressley an impressive opening here in this Busch Series event the 31 year old driver from Asheville North Carolina lots short track runner up in the Asheville North Carolina area the Hickory North Carolina area Robert press is trying to get his first and possibly his biggest career Busch Series win leading early here we're getting set for the green flag is he by the veteran Tommy Ellis out of turn four Pressley then Ellis Locarno 99 googoo clusters do it there's one car back in the pack car number 47 to cut up a very bad start the car was brilliant slipping and sliding all the turn four Gerry themself out now about everybody else has gotten by him he was running in the 13th position but now going all the way to the back was going to be a great day for Milly Sandra's a likeable driver from Shelby North Carolina his car still not up to speed he barely has a tire going down back up front Presley holding off the challenge the Elvis's won twice at Martinsville Speedway it's got a race track they're hugging that inside groove and Pressley eating away Tommy elephant second spot and remember our pulse in a Rick mast involved in a collision on the very first lap his car is spinning and tacking in stop all the the worker let's check in with Benny Parsons Benny Jerry punch I mentioned they took the right club Vidro you wonder why gives it back on the racetrack here's some of the reasons he won licked his wheel we're offering last killing got the lineups of running and fans at Tyrone is up supposed to be curved like a piece of linguini that's supposed to be straight and obviously he took a pretty heavy impact rip man it's tough break I think when I hit the inside wall is what did the damage on the press steering there Jerry Rick with him can play from the bust and me but he was the only 9 horse the head of LD Audigier coming into this race so this me a break here's a battle back for fifth and sixth place making 6th 7th and 8th car number 44 that was Bobby Labonte this moves out of your screen that injecting from the five-time national champion and you see right behind jacket Bobby Hamilton and they're going by the national Winston racing Series champion MaxPreps word in car number 77 Tommy Justin they're now trying to move on one of the better ones that I've seen him have in quite a while jack has certainly had his problems in 1990 hasn't won in a long long time in Busch grand national competition a lot of cars nose-to-tail here it's a tough place to pass here now with the Winston Cup car that running here on the same weekend as the Busch Series Ned it's able enable these guys to have a lot of rubber on the racetrack available to get maybe an outside group but they're really tightening it up there there is Ingram as he gets the car number 11 he gets passed by Bobby Hamilton in car number eight right behind them max press women who said the 31 year old driver from Iran or North Carolina pressed would load an impressive year 35 wins in 40 starts in the late-model stock car competition to capture that Winston Rankine theory national title which you'll get it Nashville Tennessee in a couple of weeks and is Chuck Bown in the condom 63 - right here screen he puts the chase on Dale steadily climbing they way to the front yeah he has really been working on the bumper Dale I think Jeff has the pastor race card now he's gonna try to get on the inside he comes on the turn for if it's not this time Chuck Bown realizing that he needs to have a good finish here because that pork race is not settled yet with five events to go there's Bobby Hamilton young man who will be up in the Winston Cup ranks a year from now oh wait Bobby's daughter is on a three time ARCA series champion Bob daughter and a great qualifying yet for their sixth seventh eighth place carving oh wait is Bobby daughter in from last year's Rookie of the Year Kenny Wallace is car number 36 in saqqaq Swift preserving car number 44 Bobby Labonte and I'd say he is making an impressive run Jerry he started in the 14th position has worked his way up to eighth position Rick mast is back on track but there's trouble off a turn for couple of cars coming together out of turn four one is the jack sprague car and a presented that presented his car you see sitting backwards they're just coming out of turn four now is it his jumpsuit in here and just the throttle right in front of the leaders that is Presley and analysts as they came by a pretty courageous move by Dave Resendez he didn't want to lose the laughs and unfortunately the leaders got by to take the caution flag for the third time today Dave presenting is involved in a collision out of turn four with the car number 34 of Jack Sprague we're under caution here for the third time today at Martinsville Speedway a great day for Robert Pressley thus far our leader stay with us and lots of laps to come exciting Busch Series action don't go away any day now fate can give your car the hook it's a relief to know you have the right to choose who gets to work on it go for the best the BASF solid gold professionals we 150 Robert Pressley showing the way Tommy Ellis Jeff Burton at barrier and Jimmy Hensley in the top five six through ten a great run for Bobby daughter Kenny Wallace Bobby Labonte Bobby Hamilton and the veteran Jack Ingram having one of his best runs of the year currently being shown in 10th spot 31 and 150 laps are complete we are getting set for green flag racing action and some of the veterans who did not qualify well are trying to sneak toward the front but a young driver 31 year old Robert Pressley lead the charge get off there good start this concern today presented car with the left half he was trying to what's their trouble in turn one two cars spending and tagging the wall Bobby the body the left inner stream the car number 44 and Tommy Houston Tommy Houston the veteran driver 45 years of age in Hickory North Carolina and the car number think there's a leader something about to take the caution flag once again for the fourth time today those two cars now get righted and headed in the right direction Houston pulling down pit road where his sons Scott Marty and Andy Houston the three youngsters who are his crew torna all in the family for Euston he pulls a roast estores Buick on the pit road Jerry evidently he has some major problems because he really needed to go around the pit around the track if he could let's see let's watch it easy go to the end of the turn there's Houston on the outside you can see the car getting loose apparently a tire went down or something and there's Bobby Labonte must have been grease or oil or something on that track because Labonte had got up a little high as well and spun and he spun first and Houston then spun around as well supplements gone a lap down something possibly coming out of Tommy Houston's car as the rosiest or Buick has now gone to pit road Bobby Labonte makes his way into the pits in the back straightaway we are under caution for the third time today is Martinsville Speedway we said it would be exciting short track action as always in the Busch Series don't go away any day now fate can give your car the hook it's a relief to know you have the right to choose who gets to work on it go for the best the installation performed at one of the participating Auto Pro repair centers but act fast this is a limited time offer we are back in Martinsville Virginia the Martinsville Speedway hosting the Busch grand national series here at stop number 27 on the thirty-one raced for million dollar tour a great race thus far three drivers in the top five who have yet to win in 1990 including our current leader Robert Pressley Pontiac safety car pulls off the track over in turn three backed into the back pits they are single foul one lap car moving to the outside that's the car turn with 79 of a Resendez it's fun earlier but the green flag waving once again from Pete Babb and he had a good running start as he beats Preston this time into turn one trying to get his left back to go time here's Tommy Ellis trying to get over the inside and he spends Sally Ellison's contacted the Robert Pressley in there do you call it exactly L is trying to squeeze in there jumping on the break dispenser in Labonte no talking nearly half a lap assistant there in Elvis's car not handling well let's take a look again you can see that Elif tried to get that on the inside he had groove there and then car number 59 a rubber President came down as he was trying to get under the 79 car and just squeeze Bella south and around he win card number 63 slowly trouble possibly for Chuck Bown trying to hold on to that hoarsely discarded mr. fake plastic Pontiac slowing on the inside of the track and they are passing and what check in the pits of Benny Parsons Terry the clown was missed by a man that when he went by me he still on the racetrack but he has serious serious problems to prove waited for him to make the decision whether to stay out or come in it has not been a good week they were here last week contented with that car hoping to have a great broad our new race car car that's been very successful with him I should say a very good race car won three times is here with that car and of course the crew chief on that car through the hospital yesterday morning with a kidney stone they carried him out of the race track and about three hours later they carried him back in it's to be an awful lot a great break for that man right there the fast fair car of Jimmy Hensley currently second in the points man into his leave the stadium up Ridgeway Virginia actually lives the driving metropolis of horse pasture Virginia he's currently second in the points standing and today and his fourth in this race Gary not too far behind the leader we see Robert Pressley the popemobile carnival 59 in the lead running second now is the car number 12 heavily trying to pass the left car Davers indians with the car number 12 of Jeff Burton having a good run here running in second place in 4th man Bobby Hamilton has moved all the way up to fifth for the top five cars have not won this year in Busch Series competition our leader Robert Pressley being challenged by an impressive 22 year-old Jeff Burton from 70 miles away in South Boston Virginia look checking the pit to see what the problem may be with Chuck Bown scarpetti jury you can imagine Hubert and Jeff Hensley crew chief and owner of the 63 message they finally a car too busy for self but the car they told me is on five silver they know what happened was they're going to every part that he possibly can so suck bow no he has no chance of winning this race today so just stay out there and ride what a tough break for Chuck found but a great opportunity for some young driver who talked about at the top of the show some youngsters really getting a chance to strut their stuff in front of the Winston Cup cars that are also here for the same weekend of racing at Martinsville speed Roberts less to the right of your screen and the youngster Jeff Burton 23 years of age in second spot now and look at Bobby Hamilton he's smoking the tires off the turn but he just had Jimmy Hensley Jerry Ford the fourth position and I think there's some something else wrong with that car because the luck boat coming out of it he comes off of the turns and we get the word that he might be a possible candidate for a black flag but he's running fast whatever the spoken little smoked out from beneath the rear of the car now this is awfully tough on the rear gearing isn't in there because of all the horsepower yet Hughes coming off the corner yes definitely if they have to run such a lobe here in the black flag yep coming out for Bobby Hamilton a tough break for that young man because he was all the way towards the front and announcement would just made here at Martinsville this weekend that he'll be running for Rickon Sooners next year and Winston Cup racing with country time lemonade as his sponsor tough break is he saw Hamilton peel off down the back straightaway pissed he was running in fourth spot and there's Bobby Hamilton get McCord and the crew fart-o see all the holes away the transportation industry car the TI seek our sponsorship of Hamilton at a Nashville Tennessee he's back on the track but he has lost a lot of valuable time Jerry we're talking about the yes they have to run such a low gear on the track black Martin feel because they slowed so much in turns you mentioned to get up 250 Hunt 115 200 straight aways here but to get down to perhaps 50 miles an hour in these turn so they need a lot of gear to get them up off for the corner here's Bobby Hamilton back out there and he just the leadership left the port leader just balanced so he has gone a lap down so anyway when to turn so many rpms with those gears it does heat him up shouldn't be a problem Boychuk bounded up he's sitting there just pounding on the steering wheel as they are dicing it up hot having intercourse right away Jack Ingram what's an engine come unglued down in turn one and you see Dale Jarrett a great food desert on the outside Ingram had a lot of smoke so he thought he may have blow up engine he started to slow maybe just a little bit of break smoked it well I don't know they came over then turn Ford three wide and top it runs in and hit the car zero hey boy look at that pack back behind there the blue car Tom pick that on the inside trying to get around Bobby daughter as Dale Jarrett tries to get around these the Griffin card and the tour number 25 will keep you abreast of that point battle Hensley on 5-cylinder this battle here between the car number 31 Grissom and the 32 Dale Jarrett jimmy hensley back up to fourth now in his brand-new game support as we watch this battle this is for six and seventh place there at Hensley would would have just been in 2/4 and that would kardama 36 Kenny Wallace in fifth and Grissom would be six which here at 7:30 Grissom and Dale Garrett if they go around the current point leader Chuck Bown Chuck Bown has not had a top ten finish since August 11th and it's been a tough couple of months for bound a tough couple of laps for this man Bobby Hamilton and his forces you can feedback them to fear they can't they ground what's wrong with the car benefit they know what is the problem they don't know they really don't think NASCAR instead they fix his focus they checked of the right side of the car trying to figure out where in the world the oil is coming from the oil until exhausted and created a boat they don't know we're trying to figure it out we'll if we find out well Jackie increments out of the race to five time national champion we saw that smoke coming from his Chevrolet number 11 a little bit earlier so he has now parked his Chevrolet and there is Chuck Bown still circulating here just past the 50 lap mark about a third of the way through and away to flesh it run by Presley and also a great run by Jeff Burton second spot there's prepping the car number try number 59 and chart number 21 is that an engine come apart that is Tommy's segment in the cygwin racing Buick one of the late-model stock car champions in that area great short track driver we are under green ears great racing action and Martinsville Speedway Robert this weekend RadioShack saved $70 on a tad for 12 telephone answering machine never miss another call with this dual cassette answerer has programmable security code remote control operation and much more wait a second just hold life's path no question lots of hassles my philosophy food shouldn't be a hassle pizza pops they fill that gap five when it's fast and good take it slow and easy pizza pops more than just this matter of philosophy pizza pops inhale one today you birth the term jet in the carpet let me explain to you it happens first of all say Dale Jarrett cuts the NESTA's punch Pontiac off it full engine rpm he brings the car and they think the spark plugs out and my Crowley ancient middle looks down in the spark plugs to see if it has too little or too much fuel going in it this is the Jets that they would use they cup inside the carburetor they take off the float bolts mike is taking off the float Bowl in the carburetor this is the jet plate these are the carburetor Jets the size of the hole determines the amount of fuel going inside the engine therefore a lean or rich situation on the spark plugs a bigger hole more fuel smaller less fuel that folks is getting the carburetor and they were Jenny and certainly is they were jetting those carburetors yesterday in qualifying practice is an overcast day and they expected it to be a damp and rainy this morning which it was and suddenly it's turned into a beautiful afternoon and it doesn't make a difference in the size of jets they would use in the carburation depending on the weather outside getting set for more green flag racing action a great run for some young drivers up front Presley Burton and barrier three drivers who have not yet won in 99 who stands to gain a lot of the points race we're back to green flag presenters tried to get the jump again than the car number 79 to get back in the lead left doing Presley is strong here today Robert Pressley who has that crew chief Ricky Pearson who enforces the youngest brother of the younger brother of Larry fished enough to destroy that would be Eddie person but written signed on with Robert Pressley back to box uh what's going to have to go and fret we have Bennett impressive ever since Ricky Pearson helped to guide his brother Larry Pierce into two national championships in this whisper and series and he certainly knows the racetracks and those buddy takes under these race cars to make him go and that has made a good combination that Robert Pressley told me yesterday that he sure is hoping and praying that Richie Pearson will stay rich in the 1991 there's a battle back for a fourth spot Jimmy Hensley in the fast fare car number 25 and the youngster Kenny Wallace Wallace has yet to win this year get the win in Busch Series competition at all the last year's Rookie of the Year has done was grateful for his including the poll from the super speedways more fifth and six as he seen how Steve Grissom and Dale Jarrett have caught that PAC fourth fifth sixth and seventh they're all single-file up the back straightaway 110 miles an hour 108 112 possibly they slow around 55 or 60 two turns and jump back in that wall really turned the rpms some of the motor builders you saw my flyer a minute ago telling me they turn sometimes 85 80 600 rpm on some of these Busch Series cars depending upon how it's geared here on the straightaway there I was in barrier the lapped car car number 17 out of a that allows jimmy hensley to pull right up on the back bumper you have a notion to try to move inside and barrier close that spot down there so into is not able to make the move that's sort like knocking letting know your Zeta from the back of those cars so all battling for position here the red card with 79 was in there didn't let down as you heard us say a minute ago he is running up there but it's barely holding up that lead yeah that's third place the car number 33 of Ed barrier and then the fourth place car Jimmy Hensley fifth Danny Wallace 36 number 31 they all running in the seventh position those five cars to the right of your screen now is barrier tries to get off the turn and get underneath he can open the door they're all following through it barrier in the car number 33 now slides on the inside beneath Dave Resendez was in this get some break coming off the turn some of the cars are already parked in this afternoon press would Ingram and Tommy segment along with Tommy Huston who had trouble and in turn one apparently an engine problem now Ferrier fighting to get on the inside if they presented that should allow him to get on by and maybe open the door redundancy for jimmy hensley to make the pass here comes Kenny Wallace feel proud it makes a move as well so we'll all those other drivers behind him they can get up there sitting there probably got Resendiz on the outside they'll certainly try to keep him out there because that rule board looked at Steve Grissom looked like he got on the curtain down on the embattled bit almost Mountain in to the car number seven tonight I think sure that it's a little flick up high the rain with the rubber that was put down in practice and qualifying yesterday I think maybe the track is a little flicker as rain washed all of that away and that second groove is not working figures right now closing away from halfway they are battling all back through the pack and there is gristle in Jarrett they have both gone around and presented his car who was fortunately spun and lost a lap just about 20 laps ago we will show you where the leader in that is Robert Pressley there 31 years of age Lee during a youngster from South Boston Virginia get first in second spot back in third spot in barrier a lot of young drivers hoping to get a win don't go away it's always satisfying even though that you fixed the problem which other people weren't able to do Neal Simpson is a tune-up specialist for Goodyear and letting them know exactly what's going on with their car because this teenage the cars are so complicated that most of the customers don't have a clue what's wrong with their card to sit it isn't working properly and you want to be able to let them know what the problem is without giving them double-talk the uncured diagnostic tuna signed sealed and certified by Goodyear remember the freshness of summer when everything is more alive everything seems fresher than any other time in the year this is the Taste of McCain tender young peas specially selected and frozen within hours of being picked nothing taken away the fresh taste of summer not just a memory a year-round promise from McKean halfway here at Martinsville Speedway Busch Series racing action Robert Pressley qualifying on the front roll in the outside of the front row is les it's the very first lap and he is trying to hold off down the challenge the arbor star being flowed by Jeff Burton in the car number 12 he is giving him a lot of pressure right now is here that's car number 12 working very well down on the low side of the racetrack officially guarding that groomed very well if he makes one little bit of a drift Jeff Burton will feed there there's Jeff Burton who started out in go-kart racing at age he stock-car racing south boston Speedway just about 70 miles from here in 1986 went on to be a serious contender there including the most popular driver in South Boston as you see him going by the hapless car number 63 and what a tough break they have case you just join us they have had trouble apparently they have lost the cylinder in the Chuck Bown Nescafe classic Pontiac they are on five cylinders and he is helpful if you have to run around there under powered and try to finish as many laps as possible Gary not too many races ago he had to what over 400 point lead you don't own Jimmy Hensley but for four races in a low row he has lost points to Jimmy Hinson you would have thought he wouldn't be worried about points but now that his car is only running on five cylinders and Henson if they're running in the fourth he's got to be worried about so that's reason he's staying out there trying to gain as many lapses again and give him any fun back up front indeed he isn't in of course he looked at his finish in the past month he is now head of top ten finish let's find out where in the man who's chasing Chuck Bown is that's Jimmy Hensley in the car number 25 our leaders go by Presley and Burton didn't come barrier in there is Hensley I'm here today knows that if he can at least hold on to that position that he can gain a lot of points and who knows what can happen he still certainly is not mathematically out of it a two-time most popular driver in the Busch Series ranks he said that his native racetrack he is won five times only twice and twice in the old late-model sports invasion anyone once in the open world modified car and here's the car number 31 he is clearly made a move take a look started on lap 10 back in 16th spot lap 32 15th to 10th and now being shown in the sixth spot he had a good run up through the field and Grissom has really climbed up in the points and is currently being shown third he was not even in the top five when with the Brooklyn Tennessee just a few weeks ago on ESPN he had a great run there got into fifth then got into fourth after that run at Darlington and now being shown in third place after a great effort at Dover Delaware just a week ago and there's a spin up in turn four if the health install you're in car number 27 it's all you on the track for the six times a day we're going to have to go down there and put some limit on that flag man's right arm as he has been waving that yellow flag a rash of yellow fever here at Martinsville Speedway the leaders now coming by easy Alton Sawyer's karna I sort up on that curb when he backs it off the curb into the grass and all that nicely manicured Clairol's grass getting chewed up there let's take a look again then okay what happened he went in to turn on the inside of car number 96 he went in there so hard Jared that the back end just got out from under him there's Bobby move making a great Drive that young driver has come from way back in the pack up in 10th place now he started 27 that he made a good move around Elton Sawyer but Elton just went in there under the 96 and couldn't hang off too well in the grass where it's slick it's the car fire and we would continue to follow the serial of the points battle remember now Jimmy Hensley is in fourth place but the court point leader current point leader Chuck Bown down on five cylinders and they have to be scratching their heads in the pits how about it Benny Jeff what is wrong with the car I against the Ibiza bro come out spraying and drop the bat we use nothing to do except right around correct that's about it you know you know we still got a pretty good point lead with loose of course today but we're not we're not down by no means though we'll keep riding Reyes if we pick up some points and get out of here he'll be deep what'd you guys do wrong I mean the gods are not are not smiling on you all of a sudden no I guess we season we won like six races there in three months time but no we've been we've been real fortunate this year and I really can't complain but you know and maybe it'll get pretty tight here for this play classic Pontiac on these points tired we want it to be but I think we'll be okay Jerry's got a stand down watch the car bar on the racetrack slow though boy that's going to be agonizing for Chuck Bown and Jeff and Hubert Hensley who are the car owners there as they watch their point lead dissipate here at Martinsville they will be back after this the kids are in from school the baby has been picked up from daycare and you just finished a day of work that felt more like a week but everyone's together again and for the first time today you see what's really important making it all suddenly seem worthwhile Catelli pasta and sauces the favorite of Canadian families time after time some things never change so what's little dandruff okay imagine your dream girl says hello if did you do this so try this head and shoulders but you don't have dandruff head and shoulders because you never get a second chance to make a first impression back in Martinsville Virginia for the Busch Series events the Z Rex 150 150 lap event remember if you have not seen the car spin it's because they will not pit during a 150 lap race you heard Betty Parsons talked early on and they are not pit for fuel or for tires 150 laps here just about 79 miles and they are getting set for green once again six caution flags a lot of yellow flags being waved here Robert Preston doesn't mind at all if he's showing the way and his return one so like they learned on the restart sharing heating up that they're in a hurry there's Robert Pressley the flattened one who was part of the 59 the old Louisville and Jared's very smart pouring to jump out there the lap car they presented is long between play star yeah perfect certainly a tough competitor on any track and he's hard to pass right now Burton is behind was in des McCarter with 79 there the right of your screen the armor meets Buick he is trying to move on the inside of Dave Resendez well we understand that that the Elton Sawyer car has been Black Flag that maybe there's something dragging home that Walton II meet this car he's car the driver that went out there a moment ago and here he comes into the pit he was already one lap down a tough break for Hellman Allen Dillard own car now on pit road Elvin Sawyer's had some great runs here at Martinsville Speedway and he was the reasons of that most recent caution flag if they will work on that car in the pits Robert Pressley is certainly enjoying the best day of his brief Busch Series career his car slipping and sliding a little bit coming out of turn four FX really got to be getting slick maybe they're fitting a little bit of oil and grease down on it along with the rubbers area it is very slick but still the inside proof is the place to be Bown we mentioned earlier not had a great day he is our current point leader but the fellow who's having a wonderful day is Robert Pressley Robert Pressley now will tell you the cars they come out of turn four and will come at you pick out your favorite there goes Dale Jarrett bristled Bobby daughter Billy Standridge as far as coming by Tommy Ellis who had trouble there we go after a great qualifying effort we call our snapshot you saw Chuck Bown the very tail end car and our leader now coming into your picture out of turn four but he has a clear sailing out and hit on me you mentioned Tommy Ellis he still have been the lead lap series last time on our leader Robert Pressley comes to the races by the nation his father Bob Presley a great late-model stock car late-model sports minase from around Asheville North Carolina in the Hickory area we are leader here twenty one point seven seconds second slower than he qualified Jerry then a pretty good fit bars we are into this race we have to have my car Robert Pressley has a brother Charlie Presley who was a crew member for harry gintz Winston Cup crew and here's the card number 12 of Jeff Burton that car is owned and prepared by Sam our former two-time Series champion and Sam Arden a multi time winner hearing won five times in the winningest driver ever in Busch Series racing at Martinsville Speedway so it's no wonder that's far running well and now here's the car number 33 and 25 head barrier and jimmy hensley they're running in the third position jimmy hensley trying to take that position away probably he has really been working on him the last two or three left but they're hanging to the other side roof hasn't made a flip so far to give the opening that Hindley needs to move up the fighting this head barrier has joined forces with Johnny favor of the corner of that machine on the Shippensburg Pennsylvania they have really run well here in the last few weeks of Busch Series racing for 99 settlement all in Orange County back in August caution is on the track Jerry once again but for the seventh time today debris on the racetrack again we understand Sablin caution of the afternoon Anela Pontiac safety car will pull back out in turn three in front of Robert Pressley some of these cars that come into the turns that yellow curbing you see just along the inside Perimeter the turns that is a concrete curbing about three and a half to four inches high and you don't want to get your left wheels down on that you want them down as close to it as you can possibly get but you don't want your left wheel to hit it here's a helicopter coming in the air care that's the trauma team out of North Carolina Baptist Hospital that staff many of the tracks here in the Carolinas that air care team does little book furloughs Martin Poole to Rockingham they're on it and certainly the drivers love to have here late they don't want happy you go what check in the pit with Benny parks Jerry I'm with sambar and older and crew chief of the farmer start doing that Jeff Burton is driving you got a great day so far Sam he's doing great right now just hope everything finish that idea wide on the green flag the restarts does the 59 car Presley he jumps out in front but in about ten laps your car starts really min is that because of your chassis setup well no not really he takes off so slow he gets a good jump owner but after dead after daddy Jeff starts bringing him back in joking out run him the other thing about is to getting by I don't want you to burn up things use other breaks right now oh you're just kind of taking it easy huh we started taking it easy right now okay you see this - even easy I don't know about that jerk well he might be if he's taking him easy that cannot be a good sign for anyone else out there and there is Chuck bound now if the race were to in right now Chuck Bown on five cylinders seen leaving the pits he could lose 63 points to Jimmy Hensley but he would not lose the point lead but Ned as the season winds down following today there would be but for event so that would be a 300 miler and Charlotte of a race at New Hampshire of course a race until Carolina Motor Speedway on ESPN and then back here the season finale on October 28th the Winston Classic at Martin Poole so that could really cut in the bounds of buffer you might have and it put to put his knee right there for the gym yes it could and I'll tell you Jeff man would rather not have to lost all those pointed to get the green flag once again nothing they can do about it look there might have been some folk coming out of Kenny Wallace's car couple cars cut nine he was running in the fifth position and DuBose Mandel Jerry got by now anytime to run up on the outside of Jerry going into the turn back there but don't believe that'll work for it car number 96 tom is running position let's take a look at what happened on the restart watch the car number 36 and zebras and riding your screens they come just coming into your picture there the smoke coming out of that car and the green flag he's coming up through the gears now and the car now really puffing smoke is Dale Jarrett makes a move and we'll keep an eye on Kenny walls as hard and remember Wallace Curley fifth in the point standings they should be running okay now Jerry but I don't hope that smoke situation wrong on the restart it's not working for it too good right now car and now Jimmy Hensley and hey car spinning and slamming signal unit the car number 99 car number 56 of day made her and made her tries to get his car refire the leaders are over in turn to turn three and four nearly completely blocked hairs patty melis coming down through the grass trying to avoid all those cars spinning and she alertly moves the car to the lamp there and don't go across that curvy Jericho so that was very smart of her to drive around with the inside of that here's the leader he's almost stopped as he goes into the term because it was pretty well bluff and most those cars moved away let's watch it is to go into the turn here Jeff Burton on the inside of the de Bru's empties car Hensley runs in there and tries to take advantage of an opening but they touch and around the go and then everybody coming in behind him starts putting on their brakes and hitting each other and so we had a mess up there and we just started talking about how much Hensley could gain today because of the misfortunes for Chuck Bown and suddenly Hensley has problems up in turn three tough break there for Jimmy Hansen those cars are still running a good move we might mention by Steve Grissom both he and Dale Jarrett were able to stay on the inside of the track and hug that concrete curb and get through it very minimal sheet metal damage only on those cars and they are now being shown the third and fourth spots respectively as Robert Pressley our leader in the dart in his second there is Mike Porter's car well this the car number 35 which is Mike Porter nice 40 in the back for system that looks like somebody's brake got you dragging back behind the target well let's not he comes down to get that duck remove it's not duck season here at Martin speedway there are certainly some of the tubing they use to keep the brakes cool as Porter makes his way to pit road we were under caution here again at Martinsville Speedway left a little over 40 laps to go don't go away a lot of action to come we are back in Martinsville Speedway still under caution the safety crews are cleaning up from a multi-car crash up in turns three and four just moments ago a number of cars getting together dead let's take a look okay we see the car number 12 with Jeff Burton on the inside of the left arm dave rezendes and jimmy hensley runs in there pretty hard Jerry and loses it it looked like he kept the car number 79 numbers and ease and then everybody behind him started putting their brakes on and hitting each other and the number of cars spun out behind Jimmy Hensley well let's check in and see this how much damage was done to some of those cars with our fit reporter Benny Parsons Jerry I'm with Bobby King the crew chief on Jimmy Hensley is fast pharaoh's mobile how much damage to the car Bob I think it's all sheet metal hope I think we'll be all right we just got it always been back to the front you must have been feeling pretty good about the thing judge bounds having trouble today you're second in the points but all of a sudden your day starts turning back well you can have the racing you know and then you know it is over okay we'll see what happens later on Bobby King a veteran crew chief former Winston Cup crew chief now providing the wrenches the chief wrench on that jimmy hensley car and of course robert pressley where he was at the beginning of the race up front in Jeff Burton's second place with a Nestle's crunch Pontiac once again we see Dale Jarrett who qualified back in the pack remember in Charlie getting started 28 spot and came on to win it today he started 22nd and is now being shown in third place with 44 laps remaining here at Martinsville Speedway Kenny Wallace right behind him in the car number 36 running in fourth place so Kenny didn't didn't come into the fifth - whatever that smoke cars on the last restart Jerry didn't appear to positive that much but the fans will not see the car number 31 that was up there in third place he did make him his stop Steve Grissom with black flags will came he had some metal against the tire or something and the NASCAR officials call back and he had to come into the pit so Steve Grissom who was running third he's backed him - back to the pack now and there you see the old Jarrett who back on lap 20 was 14th his steady progression toward the front and now just past lap 105 at 108 he is being shown in third spot Dale Jarrett currently having the nestles Pontiac in third we mentioned Grissom who said man he is now being Shawn back in 13th position by virtue of that unscheduled stop under this caution flag Bell rubbing and yes the NASCAR people blacks like you go prevent a tire from being cut on his car verge area we understand that Kenny Wallace missed the ship on that last restart and maybe grab the engine up a little bit or something that calls that punch we see that car number 85 and the ride of the screen there that's Bobby moon that fella started back in 27th position and is now running in fifth place young driver that has a lot of potential in this sport lowering in the top five Bobby moon and the Englander woodstove Oldsmobile and young man from not far from this racetrack if he's trying to get a good copy that's the green flag racing that is Bobby Hamilton a lap car Hamilton a showing to be about eight or nine laps down he is racing up Amy Wallace is in trouble coming off and turn to something happened to get to his car he slowed down in front of someone there he sits now he has been hit by a couple of cars and he was just a sitting duck jeurys he came off the turn - something was wrong with the car he got hit by a couple of cars coming off the turn like a great move by Hensley to avoid Wallace let's take a look again and see what happened to Kenny Wallace okay there is you can see the car going very slow and Tom Peck gets into him there's they'll be auditor who has made a great run and come up through the field and knocked the Kenny Wallace car back out of the way of the other traffic Kenny now after a great run here today having his problems still on the racetrack you can see a lot of sheet metal damage to the caucus whit preserving Pontiac on both sides sheet metal damage everywhere you look on that car Kenny Wallace might've gotten a little bit of help spinning up there at turn two that time a couple of cars it's very very tight coming off the corner it's a some cars getting together with Kenny Wallace now brings that Cox trees lumber car down pit row they have Reese on Cox for 1991 the colors will change on that car it'll be an all black car with yellow and green numbers highlighting that car for next year a crew dad working on that machine it was wrecked to the year in 1989 in the Busch Series we're talking about short track racing action these cars were so pretty and well manicured when started the afternoon take a look at these cars come by yeah the 79 going by 33 and then there's this fat car involved odd injures cards one by Jimmy Spencer Nemechek there's Hensley bristles he was black flight and custom sheet metal damage I mean everybody out there's got some dings take a look at Dave later going by his - modified now in the front there that barrier that's not unusual here at Hartsfield Gary because they are just a lot of contact here they just can't help it for quick math on that person our bank definitely for boat spirit the Tom picked our who is running a fifth place is being Black Plague because of the damage on the right front of his car we seen coming into the turn there let's go down to the pit convenient fit fans you watch the shows and escort black flag the car because sheet metal's rubbing the tire they said why did they come in let me show you why they come in sheet metal was rubbing the right rear tire on Kenny Wallace is Pontiac look at this how many more laps you think he would take the sheet metal to wear through that time and the car going to a spin that's why I'm a scar black players avoid problems like this and that guy thought he's going to have a nice easy day playing solitaire in the pits no pit stop spinning we're working you big guy then you're wearing me out you're you get back down yeah that's a condition the buffet opens at 5:00 o'clock Benny so we're getting ready for more racing action after this but right now the speedway Robert Pressley showing away holding off the young forget first back in Martinsville Virginia the Martinsville Speedway eight Clairol spine facility a half-mile track here just above the North Carolina line and the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains great Busch Series racing action and a wonderful afternoon for a number of drivers and not so great days for some others at the car number 17 ina favors in there's a little bit banged up and showed a little bit of smoke and possibly some offender drubbing yeah and he might have a wheel bearing going out on that car Jerry we'll take a look at him as the green flag comes down and Bobby Hamilton Beach the first time anybody's Big Brother Presley into the turn in quite a while a little bit flora starts to normal this time Bobby Hamilton on the car number age and left of your screen had a great run woman started back in the pack and was making his way to the front an unscheduled stop lost about 8 laps in the pit he is not on the lead lap but he is there is Hamilton the car number eight eleven years he knows will be over Hamilton then comes the Oldsmobile the Alliance truck training sponsored car for Robert Pressley then comes Jeff Burton and then Dale Jarrett in fourth place having to work in heavy traffic back there just getting by the left arm Resendez and now in fourth place is the garrison third and the car number 85 with Bobby moving forth and there's they'll be on injure in the fifth position in car number two and Jerry he had to take a provisional spot to get in this race LD Audigier started back in 31st pot we talked about the cardinal 79 man the wheel bearing problem he had been showing some smoke Bobby mu and the car number 85 that young driver on the late-model stock car race back in 24th spot on lap 20 made the direction all the way to fourth on lap 117 and no surprise at all because the crew chief on that car is a fellow the name of Mike Hillman who was the crew chief for Tommy Ellis and he won the series championship this a couple of years ago here's Jimmy Hensley and Steve Grissom car number 31 Steve Grissom bouncing off the inside curbing they're trying to make their way back up through the pack and here is Hensley number 25 on the inside it looked like star number 31 bottom hit the wall would be nervous that caution comes out and here we do see the car number 31 get into the wall and caution is out once again contact there from the right side on the Big Mama meat snacks Oldsmobile into the concrete here at Martinsville Speedway caution for the 10th time today and Robert Pressley has got to be smiling as they have to be in his pits let's check in where Benny Parsons is standing Jerry I'm down with Ricky and Pearson who's talking to Robert Pressley on the radio Ricky you started up on the front row and nobody's caught you yet well we've been kind of lucky I guess better yet a lot of me without a lot of trouble of it no Roberts run a real good race no let's say you'd really come together hopefully with there from what are you gonna do about that 12 car behind he seems to be gaining a little bit after about 10 or 15 laps well maybe a Fender Centre College no you know Sal Marx won a lot of races up here at Martinsville and you know Sam's a crew chief on that car and you know he's gonna be tough to beat he is gonna be tough to beat Jerry indeed Santa Marta five-time winner at Martinsville Speedway and of course having won two national championships here and now they're clearing the debris up there some more that break ducking being cleared by some of the safety crews and on the turn one and Jarrett was not a fact of them just hanging that break dunking on their loosely those Chargers who banged up they've just torn it loose they've got inside under the fenders and torn that stuff blue they've taken a giant can opener to some of these cards the lapped winding to go once again Robert Pressley you heard this a minute ago he's the crew chief of Robert Pressley hoping to get the biggest win of his young Busch Series career only his second year on the full tour lap car Dave Resendez in comes Jeff Burton for the youngster in the armory start number 12 that's the car home by Sam art and now Burton makes a good move inside of nearly he must look he just have to curve a little bit just a little bit and he certainly needs to get around that seventy-nine cars quick as possible there's Bobby Hamilton up there once again he's got one of his left back he's probably the fastest car on the racetrack right now but they need not worry about him because he is he go out there and have some sort of in the back a couple of cars hitting together that was held here and interruption sheetmetal with Dave Resendez here is showing as the third-place Pontiac number 32 now Bobby mood in the car number 85 moving but he presented the great run for Bobby let's take a look just a minute ago coming out of turn four and I watched Jarrett the blue car and the red car was ended we have to come down the straightaway and there touches this head into turn one and then Jarrett with the inside group they touch again once the head into the turn but parents they nose damage will check and just see what kind of times that Presley is running here with less than 30 laps to go it was 21.7 just after the 100 lap mark will see how the tires are holding up they were they have made no pit stops now to have some hot good gear eagles on those cars after about 125 laps breathily now three car lengths in front of Jeff Burton and Burton is starting to close on Presley with 21.72 less time we clock Robert Pressley the field it is now 21.5 he has picked up the pace and apparently Ricky Pearson and talking to the minute ago you saw Benny Parsons waiting is up to Ricky Pearson that lap at 88 point O seven miles per hour for Presley you know Jeff Burton's going to be strong but also a bard knows how to make it far left for 150 laps here in Martinsville and he also knows how to make this car get around this racetrack and Jeff Burton's doing a good job of driving and you're right Jerry he is gaining on him the any said that it takes 1012 left I don't think it's gonna take that long this time for him to to get up there we've only run about four or five laps since the green Jeff Burton trying to get up there in a hurry and working I think Jeff Burton would rather see this race go green the rest of the way all this costing their personal Robert Pressley grew up running the short traction Asheville North Carolina at Hickory North Carolina and his father Bob Presley catching him is one thing but passing him is something entirely different we've seen Rick mast we've seen Tommy else a few other veteran drivers try to get around Preston today and they have all lost in those battles with this young driver and a different kind of freight train just coming out of turn two is the railroad making its way fast try to push the transaction and now just the car link to the half separating the front two cars that Alliance we see on the side of that popemobile Robert Pressley Jerry that's a sponsor Robert Pressley again in 1991 and he's looking forth there I was like a drivers training system for for drunk drivers there's Dale Jarrett back in third spot back in force by the car number 85 us Bobby mood is sitting there in good position in 4th and then of course in the fifth position coming up behind him as they'll be auditor and the Detroit Audigier started in 31st spot he was in 25th on lap 20 gradually moved up into the top 10 and now his past the 130 lap mark he is currently being shown in fifth place and then in six spot the card number 31 there's Resendez the lap car as they spotted the car number 31 the big momma meat snacks Oldsmobile for Steve Grissom two-time winner this year then comes Jimmy Spitzer in the car number 75 little contact out of turn two never told you you mentioned guess we've gotta get up there and fix it up well we're gonna see I've been catching is one thing passing something else but a pair of these two young drivers both hungry for that first Busch Series win and left the water down let's go into turn one Pressman takes his room but he slips a little bit teary going in there and Jeff Burton tries to get on the inside it and hit the curtain a little bit bounced up too into it but he did get off the gas but now he needs to get aggressive there's only 17 laps to go when they come back around this time and look press this car is getting loose Jeff Burton is running so closer and maybe upsetting the air just a little bit you spend that on the super speedways not as much on a short track but but the car is getting a little bit loose and it could be that he's watching that rearview mirror to the end up your sambar what do you tell the youngster driving that car yet burton's never had a car run this well in this bigger race before he knows the last the Atelier he's gotta be patient me what do you say to him you tell him to put the pressure on you got it him squirrely right now keep that pressure on him keep him burning those tires and maybe he'll make a flip so you can get under he did battle up front for the first two spots our leader Robert Pressley showing the wagons colleagues and a half making a car link now in turn one over looking for their first ever butchers winner when trouble in turn four that is the jack sprague car number 13 for the Frank CC racing car he spins thus far we have not had a yellow flag is Greg's car apparently come by spreads far has spun off the groove there your cylinder green here those two drivers they're mixing it up down the back straightaway now jack sprague finally got his car going so there won't be a caution for that particular incident so let these guys go at it press the slip a little bit again as he came off the turn they're coming up on the barrier for so long as involved in that big crash up and turned for now principe goes a little wide here comes Jeff button down on the inside Jeff Burton shouted at one Carl put in the groove that come together no he hangs on here is Dale Jarrett trying to pass prepping for second spot friendly back in the water the battle for second spot Jared the 32 Pressley 259 that in turns one and two oh boy it almost had to happen is the way pressed his car was beginning to slip now then coming up on the car number 33 Jared's going to try to pin Presley down behind that car but Presley beat him off the turn it doesn't get any better racing action and it's basically ten laps to go next time by Robert Pressley card over 31 a broken panhard bar public catches they're broken in the big bump of eastex car you see that right rear how that rear end is moving around on the Karla second again what happened up in turn three well Jeff Burton got up beside of Presley and car number 8 Bobby Hamilton has fun but you can see the car number Twitter go on the inside the car number 59 gets him sideways but Prince will get to straighten out and then Jerry pulls up on the outside so there's things happening all over the racetrack and causing it out again young lady in the crew there in the armor meets Buick the same heart own car and this jokes are from just 75 model boy in South Boston Virginia started out lying down to go car just about five or six years ago made his way to late-model stock car ranks now leading and having a shot just eight laps away from the biggest win of this youngsters career we're under caution here at Martinsville Speedway and Benny Parsons they have to be holding their breath in the pits Tim are you excited or what wait he hasn't won yet let's hope you can't give that's what it's all about right there the excitement tears of joy and as Benny said it's easy kids are a big hug she's trying to control her emotions what will happen these last six or seven laps can Jeff birth - hang on we see more tears in victory lane don't go late we'll find out when we come back back in Martinsville Speedway getting set for what will be the green flag in the run for the checkered flag 11 caution flags today but just seven laps to go it'll leave six to go and he take the grief like this time by Jeff Burton up front and Robert Pressley in the Carter 59 who's led the majority this race cannot be a happy camper back there he and Burton came together this Maps ago he lost the lead getting ready for the green flag and remember that person targets a great jumper early start sitting down Burton is pulled away denature one well let's see Presley feels about that situation they got into up there cause he's got catch him first you know they're March that he's hoping he comes they can pull away right now he has pulled away a little bit Presley driving hard trying to get back up there too come whipping at a turn for 115 Bob loud and Jambo those breaks in a turn one at sixty miles an hour coming out of turn two Jeff Burton 23 years 150 and yet I believe you're right he has pulled away some free Carly neither person knows firstly we'll kick you you might just do it because Presley left this place for so long and then just couldn't uh couldn't but hold on yeah burpees best finish of the year a second-place finish on the short track in South Boston his home race track series competition going to some different racing games for 1991 but he's gotta be happy where he is right now laughs honey daddy's all free to go thirty college areas he tries to sell himself to another team or if that's what he is going to be today would be a great two laps to go in the battle mount heating Robert pressing for second spot there is Presley and Jarrett expect to see the white flag for Jeff Burton the folks at Omaha Nebraska the armored meat company sponsoring that young man have got to be excited as they really mix it up a second place white flag waiting final lap girlfriend he heard moments ago she was in tier 2 there waiting waiting this final 100-yard dash to the checkered flag and roof on rubber pitch they went very high they'll get ran into the back of him but here Jeff Burton winning the race a race for second now I believe jubilation in the bits in the armor the back straightaway Sam our car owner and crew chiefs and that young man Jeff Burton and he is excited the FDR wise waving that truth and the fans here the frontstretch are excited too let's check in with Benny Cameron he did it is the most exciting day your life and she's not happy one bit no siree and I guarantee they're going to mob that young man in just a moment in victory lane jeopardy we'll hear from him when we come back after this pointing to raise Ned Jarrett battle for the lead and probably press that got a little loose off the - and Jeff Burton ran up on the inside going into turn three and they touched Presley goes sideways but he doesn't lose it completely he hangs on to second place now you've seen some fast cars and I take a look at this Kimberly brown the outdoor hurdle that is the girlfriend of Jeff Burton trying to get to Victory Lane and she's up up and over the wall on her way to the car she is trying to get there to get to Jeff Burton she can't get there's it let me through let me through guys let me through let's go down where Benny Parsons is there Thank You Jerry Jeff Burton congratulations on a great victory they worked their butt off armor suit line came along and Buicks midsole myself man you just Legos jolly you know weight lifted off my shoulder can you describe it you're not happy a bit you should have seen Kim down the pit what does it feel like those last two or three laps when it looked like Victor was there did you hear all kind of noises that you talked about we lost first and second year and I would say we had three restarts without first and second that last restart came out I got a radio and I think eyes we just hadn't had any luck at all but luckily we got off to a good start Robert drove me clean and you know I just can't say thank you enough everybody supported me for as long as they have you know it's not all them I wouldn't be here well Jeff get over there was Sam Kim and the rest of your crew and celebrate they are indeed celebrating in the Sears row handler winner's circle there Jeff Burton his first career win and Ned some great run some other young drivers yes Bobby moon in particular coming home in fourth place and we see a lot of other drivers that came up through the pack very impressed that our point leader Chuck Bown now he finished back in 17th spot there he's bound in the condom 63 where the point standings well he has lost 34 points to Jimmy Hensley hey Lu patient 7 5 Kristen is third Bobby Labonte and Kenny Wallace rounding out the top five once again Jeff Burton becoming a 13 different letter in 1994 Betty Parsons and Ned Jarrett I'm Jerry fewer there are four drivers
