coming up at 5:00 time moon over Kansas City Warren goes for the second-most yard to the his PT anabella's the Oilers bomb the Chiefs big day for the Lone Star State as Evan Smith tries to count the Cowboys in the playoffs whoever did get the nod wasn't enough to give the bagels the not over bow in the Raider Seattle has been dreaming playoffs but Miami made them pay for such thoughts you never know who will show up as a 100 yard rusher never know who will show up at an NFL game tis the season to be watching pride time [Music] hello once again everybody I'm Chris Berman welcome to week 15 ESPN's NFL primetime a week which saw Warren burn them all at least all of them in Kansas City to help explain exactly what we're talking about because I certainly need some help Tom Jackson beat ax dome and Robin Roberts we shall enjoy and so will you of course let's get you updated now on The Late scores around the league the late game is not the best of football games we have seen the Eagles all over the Green Bay Packers 31 nothing they're about a minute to go at vet Stadium in Philadelphia the Los Angeles Raiders had made a statement they're in first place by their lonesome of the AFC West they have sat on the Cincinnati Bengals with Boomer Esiason twenty four to seven Raiders clinched a playoff spot and the Denver Broncos with about two two and a half minutes to go lead the San Diego Chargers by 10 at Mile High Stadium 20 to 10 in the fourth quarter so that means the Broncos would snap their six-game losing streak if that holds up a lot of highlights of all the games a little bit later on tonight less than an hour from now on ESPN we think we've got a fun one for you the Detroit Lions at home against the NFC Central champion Chicago Bears just two weeks ago these two teams went into overtime Mike Patrick Joe Theismann I had the Silverdome to call the game porous gentlemen thank you very much Chris we're here at the silver dome where expect a crowd of 72,000 tonight to watch the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions good evening everybody the Pro Bowl team will be announced this coming week and we will get a chance to see a couple of running backs tonight who will most certainly be on the NFC squad Barry Sanders and Neal Anderson Joe Theismann joins me now and Joe Neal Anderson following the footsteps of Walter Payton and very often if you follow in the footsteps of a legend you fail hasn't been the case it really hasn't Mike Walter Payton had set a pace in Chicago that very few would even try to follow more or less be able to Neal Anderson is of the 90 yards of approaching three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons Walter Payton is the only other back to do it the nice thing about Neal Anderson is he's finally getting the credit and the accolades that he deserves he's not a guy that belongs in anybody's footsteps Barry Sanders the great running back for the Lions the Lions were criticized earlier in the year for not getting the ball to him enough he didn't have a hundred yard game until the ninth week of the season will I change that and they should be criticized when you got a pack like Barry Sanders you have to give them the football especially on astroturf here's a guy when you take a look at some of these moves it's absolutely incredible at least Joey browner just with a little bit of his shirt he averages 5.6 yards a carry on astroturf give it to him twice you've got a first down he absolutely deserves the football as much as possible well the Bears have said publicly their defense will be set up to stop him tonight Chris Spielman says the Lions defense is going to have to do the same thing trying to stop the Bears big threat Neal Anderson he's a great bag he's got great burst I probably played against one of the best running backs that I've seen in the history of the game last week and bo Jackson this simply there's nobody with speed like him Neal has great speed but Neal has what I like to call it is this burst he hits the hole we see that he goes he runs hard and great quicks coming up in less than an hour the Bears and the Lions a battle of great running backs out to be a lot of fun Chris certainly should be Mike and Joe we look forward to that game that's at eight o'clock Eastern Time tonight right here on ESPN guy that had a lot of fun warren moon to the Houston Oilers will show you how he lit up the sky in Kansas City much to the Chiefs chagrin we roll around week 15 in the NFL coming up next the first game new bucks coach wait [Music] tonight's analysis is brought to you by Acura automobiles experience precision crafted performance NFL primetime is brought to you by Budweiser the king of beers with that clean crisp cold taste nothing beats a bug by norelco Lipton cut shaver for a new level of closeness and comfort by the first brands corporation makers a Prestone advanced formula antifreeze and by Hanukkah photo cottages work for you Konica copiers and fax they just work all the time welcome back to NFL primetime the suspense is over in Philadelphia Eagles have beat the Green Bay Packers by the count of 31 nothing - the Eagles have now clinched a wild-card berth could be four teams from the NFC East in the playoffs more on that a little bit later on let's go to a couple teams in the NFC Central the Buccaneers and the Vikings Richard Williamson making his debut as Buccaneers coach and he went up against a Minnesota Viking team that had played very well sure they lost last week to the Giants but they played well anyway except for one minor problem with the Vikings none of their six wins have come outdoors the old Vikings are rolling over in their graves they're not even in the me yet there's Richard Williamson Vinny Testaverde limbering up the legs why because he's about to look like Carl Lewis what get Vincenzo look you to make the move at the line of scrimmage and Benny takes off what's terrier with the block right there and Binney he could go home are you kidding me Testaverde 48 yards a touchdown toddy help me out here Benny showing us aside that we have not seen here he breaks out of the pocket again makes the Gail's ears like cut to the outside you see the stiff arm there he doesn't run out of bounds he's kind of pushed out of bounds right there and here watch the move he makes going up the middle of the field and diving for the extra yardage carrying the ball like a loaf of bread though they'll have to work on that yeah but so what Tommy he's a hundred yard rusher at 107 the whole year going in today 105 today Benny can also do it with the arm the man could do it all look at him dark one to mark carrier he takes it 26 yards into the end zone for the touchdown and carrier is so psyched look at him team up with fellow wide receiver Willie Soviet brewery hey meanwhile on the sidelines Wade Wilson when was he going to get hit well after watching Rich Gannon play in a hurry cannon almost picked off by Urban Randall here e out throw Steve Jordan from Brown University here Gannon is picked off by Rodney rice Rich Gannon today 2 of 10 for 8 yards so we bring in Wade Wilson and he played well those 24 yards to Hassan Jones here Wilson goes 17 yards to see Jordan from Brown University and then Wilson goes deep 75 yards the hot Sun tones for the score the longest touchdown pass at Wilson's career Vikings are within 13 26 13 here is number three or 74 yards but four interceptions on the day eight Viking turnover here a pickup by Mark Robinson of Wilson in the end zone and here the shore handed Rick penny stripped by number 78 John cannon Broderick Thomas falls on the football for the Buccaneers finally it's Eric Everett that steps into the act with an interception we mentioned the interception to Wilson five interceptions three fumbles and clipping it's warm outside what are you getting excited about Richard Williams is excited he's won an O as a head coach the guy oughta quit now he's undefeated as the Buccaneers beat the Vikings 26 to 30 nieuw nobody tried the pecos river in the offseason to the Vikings that didn't work when that finally wore off they won four games in a row in five games in a row but then they went and spent this week knowing Tommy that they were going to play at Tampa Bay they spent the week in Orlando near Disney World they look more like Mickey and goofy today didn't it yeah they did Chris but how long have we been calling for Vinny Testaverde to get out of that pocket use his running ability turn that corner on people and credit to his offensive line cup how many blocks do you have to throw to get Vinny 100 yards plus running the football a little history lesson guys the Vikings were doomed this week the minute they went to Orlando history shows the Patriots used to ask the league to schedule their game at the Dolphins late in the season so the whole Patriot family could get warm and the team could train at Palm Beach during that series of games they only lost 18 straight there's a lesson to be learned somewhere there but the Vikings go back with a nice tan but a big fat elf and Vinny Testaverde I'll tell you what we take a page and a Bob Seger's rambling scrambling man Benny was a Silver Bullet Band all by himself today his 105 yards were almost twice as much as the Minnesota Vikings total rushing today City we will be back learn more we'd like to welcome all those of you who have watched the Denver Broncos beat the San Diego Chargers 20 to 10 and we're watching rich Goins come in and Goins that's the disc jockey was on the Billboard for about eight years in Denver he is coming down and a very happy man right now we'll have highlights of that game a little bit later on well let's move to Robin Roberts at this point where Robin the Dallas Cowboys and even the Phoenix Cardinals dreaming playoffs in December certainly sugarplum fairies must be dancing in there I tell you that one in 15 season by the Cowboys last year to say mere memory two teams going for it this year they haven't done well against the Cardinals recently including two months ago when the Cardinals routed the Cowboys 20 to 3 but that was week number six this is week number 15 different story at Texas Stadium folk clubs coming in riding three-game winning streak the last time the Cardinals won four in a row was 1988 even longer than that for the Cowboys 85 was the last time they won four in a row Ken Norton senior not happy with juniors performance in this castle with Johnny Johnson but it would be Tim Rosenbaum who would be fighting for his life rosin ball under pressure this goes into the ground then rosin ball slips gets up almost is picked off by Jesse Sullivan the no 1 open man rolled the ball scrambles for no gain meanwhile Michael Irvin was looking to go Troy Aikman goes 41 yards to Urban does he get into score no but he gets a big hit by Lonnie young the eggman goes 41 yards to a wide-open urban but again no end zone finally akin to Irvin for the 8 yard score and Michael Irvin he knows where he is he gets up heads it home yeah take that 4 catches 91 yards on the day of Michael Irvin new I'll Rosen ball looking for help but someone please stop James Washington no help Rosen ball to pressure again this time those are right to Washington then Washington doing good job at D strips the ball from Johnson and jumped on the fumble himself then Rosenbaum under pressure again Washington comes up with his third turnover but he's going to pay the price for this one getting speared by Lewis sharpies down now come on short but the day would belong to Emmitt Smith Smith in the backfield for the boys stampers 11 yards for his second score the day Cowboys up 13 to 3 CJ about these moves Robin Emmitt Smith reminds you a lot of Barry Sanders a short back very strong low center of gravity here you see and make three four good cut slides back to the outside upfield great play getting to the end zone the cards would try to stop Smith from getting his third touchdown david Bavaro makes a big hit in midair the stops miss out on the next play you can't stop a fly Smith his third scored the day off light tackle 27 three Dallas you never relax until you know that a back is touched and down here Emmitt slips on the turf but he has the good presence of mind to get right back up and carry a bevy of Cardinals into the end zone Devin big day for em at 24 carries 103 yards four touchdowns on the day the Cowboys would roll 41 10 is the final the Cowboys 507 and 741 points is the most by Dallas and anon strike games at the 44 point outburst against the skins and 85 good the Falcons possibly in their 17 game road of losing streak with the fans in Cleveland would they've been all over the Browns this year but today the Browns decided to come out kidding but they were hitting those wrong people first umpire Gordon well it's simply drilled by Brian Britton then Felix writesteps ups like top Mike Rozier but he pops teammate clay Mathews instead and Cleveland even Santa doesn't look good these days for the Browns caught the spirit of giving first Eric Metcalf no reason to drop that ball then Bernie Kosar the Oakland broken ugly broken play leaves Metcalfe on his own pays the price of that 3 yard gain then it's Bernie looking for Webster slaughter but instead Fred look at that left hand up one hand int Bernie not in a real festive mood but meanwhile primetime working on his holiday fans but the Browns were feisty at home looking to snap an eight-game losing streak but it was the old guys who got it done Bernie Kosar finds Kevin Mac a 10 yard game a bevy of Falcons to take of them then it's Kosar the Ozzie Newsome playing his final home game Newsome down to 19 and finally it is Big Mac again bulldozing for the first touchdown of the game gets them from 5 yards now the Browns led 7 to 3 but then it was all Brown defense here Mike Johnson says hello to Mike Rozier head-on and then Michael Dean Perry bring brings down Scott Campbell for a stack few millon comes in for a Campbell but no one shows why he's a third string quarterback on a team with three wins the horrible pass then Stephen brags Anthony Pleasant licking the club sandwich out of Dylan a big day for the Browns on defense only 26 coming into the game eight sacks today the highest total of the year things would get worse for Atlanta under rise and stretching for extra yards during garbage time catches his knee under Fame - Rison has to be carted off the field he has a sprained left knee but he is expected to play next week against the Rams the long tough day for the man in black Gary Grandal is Falcons still winless on the road 13 to 10 the Browns with the victory the Browns snap their eight-game losing streak and win for the first time under Jim shocker they also put an end to the they're a club-record six-game home losing skid we showed you one of the highlights for the Falcons prime times one-handed interception he was asked about that INT after the game you get more satisfaction out of making a catch like that or running back at farms I get most of inflexion how to win that's why I haven't been too satisfied to Jim he's only been satisfied three times this year with three victories and what was the last time they won on the on the road they've lost 18 straight away from Fulton County we said it this morning grab in the last road win for the Atlanta Falcons I think was the the Second Battle of Bull Run Stonewall Jackson engineered a big fourth quarter comeback robert e lee a couple of touchdowns Atlanta 21 Union 17 by the way primetime at Cleveland one interception one home run thought we would throw that in there all right when we return Warren Moon second highest passing total in the history of the NFL but first let's talk about a team on the move to cowboy they're looking to become only the second team with the worst record in one year to get to the playoffs the next year the only other team Ted marchibroda Burton chose Baltimore Colts in 1975 look at the improvement of Dallas this year of running back tonight Gayle Anderson of the Chicago fair when he gets the fleet-footed Detroit Lions second year Baker's Barry Sanders live 8 o'clock Eastern Time here on ESPN live at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City was one Warren Moon of the Houston Oilers now mo needed only 126 yards to get to the 4,000 mark the decision that would mean he'll be only the 12th man in NFL history to ever accomplish that feat 126 yards moon got that coming off the team bus and City Arrowhead Stadium last year 34 nothing if we Kansas City winning watt Warren Moon remembers best first quarter at third head go to Hayward Jeffries for 16 yards next play Warren will pump once and Eric Jeffries opened he spit and the Chiefs giving moon plenty of room was bendable mistake Tom yes it was until you see Jeffries working on Stan Petrie and look how much Pat and he gives him to the first down marker allows them the easy first down knock some out of bounds about seven yards too late then you see the man-to-man coverage he's right on and looks a little bit off-balance turns this into a nice 30-yard game something that should about put about fifteen and look at moon dart one nobody throws a better look at ball and that one was a 24-yard touchdown to Tony Jones seven nothing Houston to teach came out flat ended up flatter later in the quarter the abuse continues on second and ten that you step drop Jeffery makes the move picks up the 20 yard game down to the 39 yard line and gone Peachtree just doesn't learn and sometimes you just can't do anything right as a DB here he turns and spins and gets off balance this is the tackle gives up an extra 12 yard and III was ditched all day long but tend nothing Houston and Steve de Burgh gives the Chiefs of up with 26 seconds to go in the half wide open is Jay Jay Eric Burt the animal has a 5 yard lead on everybody else BT Bubba McDowell she's doing it they're down only 10 7 at the half is the special team play come it's Todd McNair our business expert analysis here he's out he fortunately he was up a little bit later on and feeling better that was good news couldn't be the same set for Steve de Berg which says it's a marvelous year but for the McDowell's helmet nails his left peak comes dislocated look away at home trainers accepting to reset the finger Burgie obviously in pain had to go to the bench in favor of Steve Paul or if the Berg was in pain boom was a pain for the Chiefs third and 5 for the 13 ruled under pressure what pressures Jefferies makes the spin at he go go oh wait 87 yards for a touchdown moon to Jefferies it Tommy Petrie did not have a prayer on this play he tried to get the bump at the line of scrimmage but he's working against the guy who's bigger stronger faster Jeffery dipped that stiff arm on and get some separation catches the ball keeps his balance and to borrow your line heat go Oh 245 yards for Jefferies that's the best receiving performance this year in the NFL but it wasn't only Petry every he was guilty of in Kansas City defense watch moons hamper all walks of the Dru Hill beach Kevin Ross now Ross makes a very nice play to save a touchdown resulted in a field goal only that 58 yard pickup Warren Moon it's just beginning to warm up and 20 to 10 in the fourth Chiefs come with the Blitz he reads it blocker picking up Ernie Gibbons from Louisville down to the 30 at the 16 yard line moon under pressure even though he was sacked four times he was cool he was so poised today and through some excellent passes off the back foot without stepping into the throw and look at him dodge the defense there Tony Jones and other touchdowns Houston with the 27 10 there it is 527 yards passing for Warren Moon as the Houston Oilers win a big big ballgame not only for moon but for their divisional and playoff hopes as they beat the Chiefs 27 to 10 a place where they lost a little more than a year ago 34 nothing moon by the way at his ninth 300-yard passing day that ties the NFL mark for one season set by Dan Marino of course he allowed two more chances to break it the last chance of the regular season will be here on ESPN he also had the second-most yards ever the most 27 yards more by the Dutchman norm and Brocklin 554 and if we take a look at this play if replay it ruled differently moon would own the record tonight period say with Jeffries who else clock by Kieran cherry ball comes loose out of bounds after further review does he have possession will they call that not possession not a catch that was a 33 yard play Jeffries thought he had it and if they had ruled that it was catch then as we said Warren Moon not the Dutchman would have owned the record but it certainly doesn't diminish from what he did today Tommy you mentioned it to throwing off the back foot and everything else it's great what people are open but moon shows the poise and nobody throws a better he obviously learned a lot up in that place up north you know I think the most important facet to the run-and-shoot is resilient you know when you look at Detroit the other team that runs the run-and-shoot they have a problem keeping a healthy quarterback what's amazing to me is that Warren Moon no matter how much he's bang during the course of the game always gets up and lines up for that next play a typically shrewd observation from you Tom my own true observation for the day was a prediction that this game could turn on the Chiefs blocking punch I neglected to figure out that is very hard to block a punt when you can never force the Oilers into a fourth down that's true you know one thing we figured out the Chiefs going into this game was they had a very good secondary and that was not going to be a problem going in it is a problem going out how many famous Anderson's do you know of well Hans Christian Andersen's pretty famous some of us might think Loni Anderson is pretty famous Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull Fame is pretty famous enter two more in the Saints Steelers game Morton and Gary Anderson Joe walk remember the offense couldn't score a touchdown for the Steelers in September it's December it has that look again big hit by Dean Atkins on Eric green it's sloppy by brisker over the middle Worley drops it other side of the ball Steve Walsh looked terrible a wide open he defended key but he can't complete the past soon after maybe the best corner playing today Rod Woodson almost gets a pick son a run good idea a word with the block penalty with the run gets 10 yards later look at that Irish liking in it he down for 10 more yards big play of the game 47 seconds to go on the one down and three nothing but a fat boat and the Steelers David Johnson recovers at the end of the half preventing a Saints touchdown Trinity dives into the line here he's looking for the extra yardage and Dave little gets his head hat right on the football causes the fumble into the end zone Prince dirt second half rush where is that going it goes to the state jean akan other side of the ball Walsh Eric Marr Tisdale like Thomas ever watch Robert Massey dragged down the bigger Tim Worley Walsh did complete a few passes here's one department Larry Griffin makes a nice play to force the Saints to Pike overall Walsh not good eight of 26 many of them looking like this look only 95 yards throwing for Steve Walsh jhamora said it was the ball some other way so in a close game let's have a soccer shootout first penalty kick between the Andersons it's in the first quarter Gary Andersen Pittsburgh it is no good Gary is over 1 but in the second quarter Gary's gone 49 yard villains lead three nothing at the half more Anderson has a rifle 50 yards in the third good tie two three three fourth quarter Morton from 43 with six three state big fourth quarter Gary Anderson from 42 good we're tied at 6 6 and with Morton on the sidelines he knows what Gary's gonna do on a 43 there watch how fast this knuckler gets through there quick what a minute 44 to go that field goal by Gary Andersen gives him a 3-2 edge over Morton gives the stealing is a big Road win at New Orleans they win it by the count of 9 to 6 when we return we'll show you what happened between the Dolphins and the Seahawks and all the highlights of the late games including the Raiders in the bank first it's in the Dutchmen we mentioned warren moon only six men have passed for over 500 yards in a game the Dutchman now warned and Moreno Phil Simms in Stara Gamow and yelburton abraham tittle quite a club congratulations from Warren bull couple of teams that many folks that would be wheezing this year the Seattle Seahawks in the Miami Dolphins the Seahawks went over September when the last team to win a game but since then they've gone 7 and 3 Chuck Knox and staff doing a great job and what about the job done by Don Shula Oliver Dottie and the Dolphins they have a good defense so which team would continue to surprise was the question as meda Joe Robbie said 'man oh-oh-oh which he would be laughing more well it was the season of giving and try Stratford gave it to the Seahawks Calvin Jenkins recovers a fumble put two choice captain Justin this plays the ball goes right through his arms in the workplace it can go through the legs now the Jenkins makes the recovery at the two and that's set up Derek Fenner touchdown run and Seattle was leading in Miami ten to three but the next month they send Jarvis Williams backwards Bradford watch Williams make out Melville judges fair catch flat flat flat to the end zone so also feeling that the giving spirit should be give it in December Chris Warren of the Seahawks that Bay seven more recovers for Miami Warren here doesn't make a decision until late this plays the ball and loses it over to the dolphin and Dan Marino avoiding rush from check three look at Marino avoid it started to James threw it big dish Marino we're tied at 1010 let's take another look Marino here showing surprising mobility he avoids Jacob green will take a shot from Tony would that the way but he delivers for the touchdown arena wasn't finished yet looks for Tony Martin with a similar cannon guess you aren't any better than that folks just to pick up in 44 yards and then guys seeking redemption Troy Stratford Bulls his way in for the score I'm alerted 1710 JEP knocks on try it before the end of the half they pray prep that bed Ronnie Lee has it what do I threw what do I do all we can get nails with it Ron you got to know that yeah I'm going to get down the guys you green the ajq and you remind him dolphin 5 7 at the half norm Thompson struggled early they had a nice six seven games with today going off the upright from 34 and normally reliable Johnson for 38 missed as well so the Seattle Seahawks missing opportunities then they advanced it on the last couple of months meanwhile Marino on four finishes always the fart star Packer flake play-action Farrell Edmonds touchdown 24:10 Dolphins after three what a great call right Don Dan Marino and not greater guards begin open 250 yards he just looks so smooth Dave Craig was it that smooth super lotta yards but was picked off like John offered all here and in Makai Oh Tommy you got to love this as a defensive player cuz he runs a great route Kristen makes a good catch of the ball the staff of the Seahawk he plays for the other team and for David Craig because even though he threw for 295 yards most of those Tommy came ten for a buck 60 - it was three interceptions to get in Craig in the Seahawks and another win for Miami 24 to 17 Colts at the jet all former jet tight golf pros honor during the game is Joe Namath care that is John Riggins wary number 44 Larry Grantham I'll a Kansan I know off number Kenny O'Brien - Rob Moore wearing Wesley Walker's number makes him proud of it too what a catch Jets lead 14 to 3 but the wings team directions in the Meadowlands bran stark honey Terrence Masson 12th of never on this attempted catch bubble tip the Colts will cover Jeff George Clarence forget touchdown Colts within four 14 to 10 things getting worse - Kenny O'Brien in the chest O'Brien to the manatee where is Emerson fuzes old number their promise no to the reliable altitude no then Sam Clancy he's king Clancy on this play with the sack how about the reverse option Jets razzle-dazzle altoon so Brian he's open Colts get it going into third Ron stark can make the punt and throw it to Mike Pryor who had a prior commitment for a first down and 40 yards down to the five setting up a Dickerson touchdown and the Colts lead 1714 and I mentioned Eric Dickerson he had a nice game axe looking to run for 11 yards here on this play axe looking to run for 8 yards around right tackle Bruce hasn't started out of breath well whoop-dee-do it's got to be impressed by this time Eric Dickerson here moving left behind his blockers on the screen pass and this was his patented cut for years across feel the nice easy stride goes for a nice game axe look at him take it in from 11 yards out for a touchdown said they have another touchdown is about setting up another one of his own touchdown runs I'm so impressed I can't speak 117 yards for Dickerson Colts beat the Jets coming from behind for the second time this year against the Jets and the Colts win it 29 to 21 and I'm sure all those Jets and Titans all pros but we're really impressed by the effort today we'll be back to tell you highlights of the late games around the NFL winning the Eagles whitewashing of the Packers but first and merino it's now gone over three thousand yards seven straight time that's a record Elway all for over three thousand today he has six in a row tumor is about four hundred shy of making it six in a row record for Marino welcome back to primetime game day earlier this morning earlier this afternoon we talked about 30 years ago Robin the Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles the 1960 NFL championship game and we bring that up again because norm Van Brocklin was the winning quarterback in that game for the Philadelphia Eagles and Van Brocklin record as the RAM still stands I don't know could the Eagles keep going 30 years later against the pack though is a wide segue there is I got y'all I'm catching the pass yeah they keep it going of course they could boomer they could do that you know two teams the Packers and the Eagles both going for playoff first wild card birds in the NFC the Eagles blowing a 10-point lead against the Dolphins last week both the pack and and also the Eagles coming off of losses from last week and Blair keel falling short in rallying the pack against the Seahawks Reggie White led the defensive onslaught for Philadelphia today rocket on mikowski maven Gladney would complain the Minister of Defense watched white number 92 run around Tony Mandarin and hits Anthony dill whit white against the run Eagles lead the league against the run he stops Darryl Thompson cold in the backfield meanwhile Randall Cunningham was moving the Eagles first and goal Cunningham pitches the key fires throws the anthony tony' all along in the end zone 7 nothing Eagles now we've seen the Eagles in office we've seen them on defense how about special teams after fumble Ron Harris returns the punt drops it their picks it up 30 yards sails and Packers 29 yard line that set up a field goal to put the Eagles on top into nothing more trouble for the pack they'll look in the pocket tries the scramble but he injures this what no one touch them but he injures his foot third string of Blair keel loosens up oh boy dill would would not return to the game the Eagles kept coming late in the first half Cunningham goes long for Fred Barnett gets up good concentration a 25 yard game next play Cunningham it's he fires in the back of the end zone 17 up Eagles at the half second half to kill rally the Packers fell short against the Seahawks last week off the play fake kill looking for Sterling Sharpe and the under throws him two plays later he'll again go in for sharp again same result and then kill slips down in the pocket Packer fans they don't know how to react to all this but even they had to admire this the man Randall Cunningham scrambles up hungry how many times we see the scrambles out of trouble into the end zone with his patented hurdle Robin you know anyone who's watched a Buddy Ryan coached team knows it begins with toughness maybe the toughest guy on this squad at the fort above and he's trying to explain that I went up this high this is how I did it the guy he must be the press Packer fan here's the depressed Packer coach Wendy Infante yes he is from sold by sterling Sean but the Packers falls short the Eagles all over the Packers by a final of 31 to nothing Randall Cunningham the third straight year he has passed for over 3,000 yards Randall Cunningham let's check in on the lightning bolts and ginza starter runningback Marion Butz the NFL's leading rusher chewed up the different last time they played and started well powers of the gut for seven yards then but shows his speed to scoot around the outside for 11 more and then Washington he uses a stiff arm right there on hip point in a Kia nine yard pickup and Marion Butz breaks the single-season charge of rushing record in the first quarter but he was no real factor after that despite the ball control San Diego couldn't make the big play for Temecula Joe palaver tosses the rookie Derek Walker who reaches for the stripe and appears to break the play but the play is ruled uncle Randy Robbins on-the-spot scampers away with the recovery and many simply can't believe that call then another long charger drive grinds to a halt when Ron Holmes creams Tolliver as he throws the Eagles forced to settle for three that opens the door for John Elway's imagine taking over his own 34 Elway hits Van Johnson who does a mad scrambling to get out of bounds then Elway uses his greatest escape ability scramble for 13 yards he's going for the first down scrambles and gets out of bound Elway caps a drive with the type of play he is known for that means he scrambles to his left he know he's going to go right in frost his body to Michael Young with a touchdown seven three Denver at the half but any Denver fan Tommy know the brothers have blow leads all years the rich go and the Bronco fan who won't lead the Billboard till Denver wins she still had to be worried at the half people are going to really start thinking I'm a sniveling wimp and I'm not I just I just want to go on and sleep my own bed oh the goings would be happy this afternoon the kickoff typical of San Diego's second half fumble by Donny elder and he is buried by a bevy of Broncos at the five meanwhile Elway was getting good protection and he finds Michael Young for his second TD of the game the flag was on San Diego's 14-3 Denver Elway with his best performance in some time 248 yards San Diego tried to rally down 20 to 10 but Tolliver is picked off by lilo leg and rich Goins he's a happy man because yes he is going home that was a layup had to do it Broncos with the win 22:10 snapping that six-game losing streak and Tommy and rich Goins I don't know which one is happier Tom he's pretty happy nope we don't make him sleep up on a billboard by the way the Packers if keel got hurt at Exec burtowski was warming up on the sidelines in the fourth quarter he'll be by I'm sure next week all right when we return the Raiders and the Bengal first our hundred yard receivers begins with the 200 yard receiver plus it would Jeffries of the Houston Oilers Tommy Kane had a big day for the Seahawks in a loss as it Jones X Buffalo Bill Ronnie Harmon had a loss of the Chargers Freddie Barnett with a win a lot of guys had caused the triple figures for receiving today under erisa hurt at the end of that game at 100 yards first most guys have quite a lot of passes walk Melo Mike [Music] lion but fired up it's like Cinco Perry the Bears top of the hour lions tigers and bears oh my right here on ESPN of course Raiders and the Cincinnati Bengals now the AFC West co-leaders Raiders hosting the AFC West try leader AFC Central try leaders the Bengals would Boomer Esiason go well one thing we did find out about this game santa's first stop feed the LA area the Bengals had an early Christmas gift boomer esiason yes he could go the groin injury forget it he's going to go for Sam white our shell told his team all week that Puma would play and they were ready despite the fact that early on boomer looked very Swift rolling left the prayer to the end zone answered by Tim McGee 7 nothing Cincinnati amazing with that California sunshine will do for a pulled groin boomer shows a lot of mobility as he rolled out here on his throat now watch boomer on this play a wide receiver with a groin injury they snap the ball to Lynn James who goes 12 yards away from boomer but I'll tell you what you at least warranted some good cover this just in crisp be with a decoy unbelievable with your analysis Sam Weiss says but let's get it going boomer stumbled here looking for Eddie Brown the ball is picked off by Ricky don't lose that number ellison that boomer looked to the end zone this expert analysis not good picked off by terry mcdaniel in the raiders 5 members of the silver and black in the end zone boomers have the interception problems this year meanwhile Jay shrade it took greatest advantage of the turnovers trainer to Tim Brown touchdown tied at 7 hole train ride all day to throw here to swerve in bourbon Fernandes for 32 yards Jimmy Brown finally making a statement last couple of weeks on Monday night and then here 44 yard touchdown and then traitor to Jim Brown and then to ethan Hort that sets up a field goal by Jeff Mick Jagger and it 17-7 right is Sam Weiss with a Fiat nail-biter don't think so third quarter bo Jackson had a 92 run against the Bengals last year look at him shift look at the blocking and let get it go he good go oh no wait but Ron Jones catches him from behind art self careful in him he got caught but he'll take the run right Jones can't believe he caught him Bo's did not know touchdown on that play so Ethan Horton get from Schrader touchdown 24-7 Raiders who were played only two possessions in the second half bowled 117 yards rushing averages five point five yards to carry for his career Raiders sit on the ball sit on your helmet ran out the clock Raiders in first place all by their lonesome in the antsy West the Bengals fall out of that first place tight in the AFC Central Raiders win it 24 is 700 yard rushers rated yard passes first when we return we'll have the axe finality Eric Dickerson 117 yards Bowles ranted it well any applause five all the guys that ran 400 yards got the win 500 yard Club Warren Moon 300 yard Club Wade in Billy Joe loses this Creek back at NFL primetime starting to get some answers now as to the playoff on an axe the Cowboys in the hunt are we serious here yes we're dead serious just a few years ago these guys were the bullies on the Coral Gables block Jimmie Johnson Michael Irvin and all those merry Miami Hurricanes they played mightily they talked arrogantly they ran up the score on the life itself just did not make them to likable then Johnson went to the NFL and last year other bullies kick sand in his face this was not very pleasant because sindh tends to stick and hairspray and make it unmanageable but Johnson never flinched one in 15 that record is forgotten now how does 7 & 7 sound the playoffs is a possibility and even if this chariot turns into a pumpkin with stars on the sides the messages here will remain clear these kids can play and Jimmie Johnson can coach on any level it's also kind of fun to salute some overachievers for a change at this time of year it's so easy to chastise the non achiever like the Vikings who's once noble Northland tradition was buried forever today these indoor warriors can't even win outdoors in Florida throwing the Falcons who can't win on the road and the Jets who often don't show up for their home game or the bungling Saints who apparently couldn't direct to answer to the same picnic no let's give today to the improve the Seahawk once a threat to sneak out of the league still contend for the playoffs it was just their misfortune today to run into another wildly improved team in Miami Gary Jones and Johnson may not have taken over the Cowboys with self-effacing modesty but they sure have taken over and I don't have to tell the Cardinals that JJ and his guys have found a new block to bully Kris they are bullying a lot of folks as they steamroll toward what they hope is the first playoff berth for the Cowboys in a few years what do the playoff situations look like right now well in the NFC Billy by winning today clinches a wild-card spot they had watched it it looked like they're going to meet the first round it depends where by the way if the Giants win their last two they will be the number two seed even if the Bears win all of their remaining games it works that way wildcard chase who might be in if they start tonight axes Cowboys are in but a bunch of six and eight teams are hoping in the AFC Buffalo hosting Miami next week will decide the East and probable home field Raiders are in the playoffs haven't clinched their division yet if the playoffs were to start right now Pittsburgh would win the central sheets Oilers and either Buffalo Miami would be the wild card but Pittsburgh and Houston in the season against each other so there's a lot left in the AFC wild card chase there's some left in primetime so stay with us [Music] NFL primetime has been brought to you by a TMT the right choice by Irish Spring deodorant soap the Irish never quit and by Remington micro screensaver thanks for
