is managing the Mets and I guess Youngblood is rising to the occasion against Dory's team now Oh Joel is two for two O'Malley singled his first time and it's outside ball one but Mercury's held them at bay but what hasn't been pretty tonight he's given up five hits and two walks now in four and rather 3 and 1/3 innings good pitch right on the outside corner of the knees that's one in one McMurtry has an outside chance of winning 20 probably wind up with 17 or 18 wins a great rookie year currently 12 and 7 there's the pickoff throwing Youngblood gets back you read about the big controversy about allowing kangaroos into this country a lot of folks hopping mad about that what a gullible naive straight man you have it'll be a two-in-one pitch coming up to O'Malley with Youngblood at first and five this ball game really was all decided in the final couple of innings Braves held a 3-2 lead going to the eighth inning we're going to show you what happened from that point on in the eighth inning with runners on at first and third chili Davis gets a base hit to center field and when the ball gets by Dale Murphy it allows Jeff letter to score all the way from first base and give San Francisco a 4-3 lead but as is so often been the case this year the Braves wasted little time getting back in the bottom half of the inning runners aboard first and second Bob Horner almost hit the ball out of the park and hits high off the wall in left centerfield it scores Rafael Ramirez and it ties the game at 4-4 a dramatic top half of the ninth inning runners were on at first and second the batter was Johnny lemaster lemaster drives a single into left field and watched the perfect throw by Brett Butler cut down Joe patina and home plate he won't see a better throw than this one made from left field all the way on the fly to Bruce Benedict who applies the tag to keep it at 4-4 but then the hero of the evening turns out to be Darrell Evans is not very happy they're arguing the plate umpire fred brocklander but a few pitches later Darrell Evans was happy with Bergman and Lemaster aboard he corked a Terry foster slider in the deep centerfield it clears the centerfield fence Evans has his 23rd Homer of the year RBIs 58 59 and 60 Gary Lavelle puts out the side in the bottom half of the ninth and the Giants hold on to win it seven to four okay tomorrow night same to Bob's love this series is even now 7:35 air time it'll be Ken dayley against last year's Lasky is 12 and 8 daily 2 and 3 and then over the weekend it'll be the Los Angeles Dodgers final score once again the
