I was 9 years old watching this game on WDIV Detroit. George Kell was appalled! As a young boy I remember how offended he was by the spectacle.
But the thing that sticks with me most is how neat I thought it was that the Tigers "won", and that the score was 9-0.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
