hey everyone Arthur here with some more obscure games for you all it's been a while since I've made a PlayStation 4 hidden gems video I've been meaning to do this for like a year but companies keep shutting down their digital star fronts so I keep having to urgently cover all the games that will go away I'm actually in the middle of covering the Xbox 360 Marketplace shut down the very next video after this will be on that the dlc's to be exact but while working on that I found enough time to also return to the PlayStation 4 and this time I decided to focus on lesser known games that also have physical versions for the PlayStation 4 and many for the PlayStation 5 as well there are plenty of real obscure games that got physicals but still many may not even have heard about and right now is a great time to hunt for PlayStation 4 games in particular prices are falling for that system as it's approaching the end of its life cycle and like I said many of these have yet to be discovered by fans so some are pretty cheap and one last thing before we start just as a reminder that you can still join the giveaway of three copies of wall world for the Nintendo switch if you're interested check out the last video before this one link on screen now for the instructions on how to join so all right let's check out the list welcome to the channel this is from the [Music] [Music] void [Music] this time I want to start with such a treasure of a game that hasn't received nearly as much praise as it deserves Tales of [Music] iron all right man this is such a great game there is a war between rats and frogs going on that we never knew about and it's bloody and brutal as hell the story is really well told and I love everything about this game music Graphics all of it but let me get to the main aspect the action Tales of iron is 100% a sidescroller action game nothing else it may seem like it's a metroidvania at first glance or maybe also a platformer but no the focus here is totally on the combat and what a phenomenal job they did on it I mean I can only imagine the amount of back and forth and tinkering around with the programming and animations that went into this to to make everything feel so awesome one of my favorite things is the Parry system brilliant is what it is from the start you have a shield and you can block by holding L2 this will be effective against most projectiles and weak attacks but medium attacks require you to Parry which you do by pressing R2 while blocking this is awesome it's organic it feels right because you hold the shield with the left hand then Parry by putting your whole weight behind it and pushing back so by pressing the two buttons you're kind of emulating that and it's incredibly effective with just the right time for delays and the duration of the animations and the effect of the Parry itself and how the enemies react to all this I mean wow caller me impressed by the development work here and that's also true for pretty much everything in this game you also have two levels of Dodge Combos and heavy attacks multiple types of weapons so many kinds of equipments that alter the look of your character the healing system is also great you have to keep drinking beer by holding L1 to fill your health progressively so you need to find the right time during the fights to do that the enemies are varied boss fights are formidable so yeah all together we have a 10 out of 10 fluid Dynamic and exhilarating combat here I love it to bits needless to say highest recommendation for Tales of iron pick it up it has physicals for a bunch of consoles including PlayStation's 4 and five so pick your favorite and digitally it gets really cheap whenever it goes on discount really big discounts [Music] [Music] moving on to journey of the broken [Music] Circle this is a delightful platformer where you control Circle who is missing a part to behold it runs across several other characters that could fit in his broken part and you you Unite with them that way kind of weird but amusing and each one provides a different platforming skill to increment the gameplay sticky here sticks to walls this other one moves along grass surfaces ignoring gravity and several more however every character has its own personality including Circle who wants to see the world so it's always moving forward sticky on the other hand wants to literally and figuratively set roots in a place it likes so the couple eventually realizes that they not a match and then split up and circle continues on so this game is like the developer said a game about falling in and out of love the whole thing is a metaphor for Human Relationships but in a light and subtle way which I found very enjoyable the platforming is not too hard nor too easy a perfect balance to appeal to a lot of people so yeah this is a solid game a shame it never received its due Fame it's also very inexpensive nowadays but this game never made the jump to the PlayStation 5 unfortunately it has a physical and it's a PlayStation 4 [Music] exclusive next is the most beautiful game I've played in quite some time and this is severely underrated sword and fairy together [Music] forever [Music] this is the seventh and most recent entry in a long running series from Taiwanese developers but I'm pretty sure that this is the first entry to make it to the West officially the series is revered on that side of the world and this entry is no exception we're looking at a remarkable game here sword and fery is an action RPG it does also have some hacken lash Feld to the combat it's needless to say a gorgeous game with a lot of cinematic cutscenes and I miss the okay why don't we have more games like this you know the aura's Wrath experience where did that go Taiwan apparently so I'm delighted I found this game I love the Chinese mythology for the story their culture and even the language are refreshing and inspiring to me I love it and the combat is easy to pick up loads of fun all the way through and surprisingly deep with you having access to several characters each one with interesting peculiarities the main girl for instance has a pet owl Eagle hybrid with some magical abilities the RPG stuff is enjoyable you have a bunch of equipment items to feed your owls so it levels up skills to learn I mean everything you could want for a game of this kind then exploring the world is a joy most areas have a lot of space to get lost in there are even some platforming sequences which I enjoyed they look great and are kind of hard even I don't see what not to love about this game sword and fairy was such a nice surprise so do check it out physicals are exclusive to PlayStation 4 and 5 at least here in the West [Music] [Applause] [Music] this next one is a trip to a p that I didn't even live and still I enjoyed the heck out of this game Rock bosers [Applause] [Music] DX [Music] [Applause] this is an 8bit ZX Spectrum inspired game down to the chip tune sound effects and even having a 8bit console or 8bit computer a specific look to choose I only got the tail end of the 8-Bit generation as a small kid barely even remember it and certainly never played the ZX Spectrum but still had a blast with this the game is simple it's divided into stages and this is a twin stick shooter you have a few different weapons to defeat humans zombies and many other creatures and figure out what the hell is going on in this Martian Colony the objectives always revolve around collecting keys and destroying terminals to open the way to the next stage pretty simple stuff but really enjoyable proving that games don't need to be super creative to be fun so yeah check this out rock bosers DX it has a PlayStation 4 or VA exclusive physical Edition and digitally is very cheap [Music] [Applause] all right moving on to [Music] matterfall I'm a big fan of developer housemark NEX Machina is simply one of my favorite PlayStation 4 games period and matterfall is another brilliant shooter they made it's fast-paced and full of challenging Maneuvers and tricks you can pull off to keep moving non stop and defeat the enemies the main play feature here is the dash that creates a bubble where you stop which stuns enemies for a while and destroys bullets you can do it in midair and you also have a bunch of other stuff like multiple weapons and a jet you can fly with sometimes a gun that manipulates platforms and stuff so there's a lot of buttons to press making this game hard to learn everything feels great though the game feels amazing to play intense and chaotic and great looking Graphics too I love it matterfall is a must play for me physicals are only F PlayStation 4 so check it [Music] out next is underrated unusual crazy and stylish P [Music] box yeah you are looking at a black and white Punch Out style brawler with a duckhead protagonist video games man PO box also mixes in some third person action and exploration too which is quite nice so it's not only about boxing fights I wasn't expecting this at all of course the main start of the show are the boss fights and what a brilliant Punch Out style fighter this is the matches are Dynamic and full of surprises it goes well beyond just learning the tales of the enemies the reaction times feel challenging but doable even on your first attempt which is a great thing then on the third person exploration phase you get some cool Exposition about the game story and World there are some hidden Collectibles to find and some action or stealth sequences as well this part is definitely secondary and it's the main reason for criticism the game got from reviews but I enjoyed it it's a nice change of pace it's well done though not too deep and some of the action sequences are real fun nice game quite underrated in my opinion PO Box check it out and next is the Magnificent Eternal cylinder yo this is such a a trip I was playing Xeno Clash a few months ago and learned about this game from the same developers and went in already expecting something bold like Xeno Clash but nothing could have prepared me for this what a awesome game the Eternal cylinder is an adventure with survival aspects it's also story focused and linear two things I was not expecting from what I knew about the trailers and such this game takes place in a planet where exists the titular Eternal cylinder it's an actual planetary size flaming rolling cylinder that smashes everything beneath it which is the craziest coolest idea ever and here is how it works I'll try summarizing the best I can you have some typical survival stuff to worry about during most times like keeping warm fighting food and water and avoiding carnivorous creatures that's already a pretty cool part of the game it may not seem like it but everything is well made you control these funny little creatures all from the same family that can do a lot of different gameplay things like Ro ring floating and sucking up stuff with their drunks the idea is to consume things and have the several creatures you can swap between evolve into different things so they have better chances of surviving becoming more apt to pass over obstacles or solve puzzles which this game also has there are so many different traits you can gain by evolving and they're so cool now the cylinder only becomes a concern when you decide to move forward once you do you have to roll into a ball and outra the rolling apocalypse until you find the tower machine things that will hold back the cylinder for some time this part is also incredibly fun and an absolute thrill it's all really wellmade what a remarkable game you are in for a treat if you decide to play it very much worth the 15 hours or so it takes to finish and this is a great game for anyone that likes a good Adventure filled with all kinds of weirdness in the best ways possible check it out the physical is only on PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox one but I'm pretty sure that the PlayStation 5 version doesn't come with a pretty awesome manual SL Survivor handbook that is full of cool [Music] [Music] information following up with Evans remains [Music] okay this is great but it's also very short it's about 3 hours long and there is a lot of dialogue in this game but then again the price is super friendly so if you're okay with a short game there is no reason to dislike this Evans remains is a narrative driven sidescroller puzzle platformer the puzzle style here is pretty cool I got to say it may not sound like it though the general idea is that every time you jump off of a platform it will disappear meanwhile there are special platforms that make all regular platform switch in and out so you have to figure out how to turn all of them on or only the ones you want it's a rather interesting puzzle mechanism and of course there are lots of other types of platforms as well the puzzles are intertwined with the narrative mostly told through dialogue between a few characters I really like the premise and the compelling mystery going on in this story so I mark this as another positive in this game but some people dislike how much narrative there is compared to the time you spend doing the puzzles so that's up to you today side like I said the price is friendly digitally and the physical version of this game is exclusive to the PlayStation [Music] [Applause] [Music] 4 moving on to guilt this one is pretty cool and unexpected guilt is a third person stealth game through and through I'm happy to feature one of those not too many games of this kind around and this one is excellent you follow the story of a girl in search of her cousin who's been missing for weeks and things quickly take a turn for the weird as the whole town is emptied out in the blink of an eye and dark freakish monsters are roaming about now and right then you spot the cousin so you're tracking her and avoiding the monsters the game has a great Pace I love the designs of the creatures they're even kind of scary sometimes you have to avoid them at first but later you can flashh them with a concentrated beam of light to kill the things you have to aim for the orangee spots on their skin the catch is that you run out of batteries so you you can't really count on wiping out every single one of these guys you have to rely on stealth tactics at some point it's a great balance they struck that way there is some slight puzzle solving and exploration here too the game is very enjoyable not too short or too long guilt is all right physicals are available for PlayStations 4 and five and switch this next one looks too basic but there is a great game here believe me we're talking about n [Music] Drifter yeah n Drifter even calls itself a one bit game which fits the graphics are Beyond Simple and I highly advise turning off the screen Shake in the options which felt way too much for me and I bet for most people too but gameplay-wise this is a very solid and enjoyable game it's a one screen shoot them up with Rogue elements basic rogue elements like everything in this game it's mostly just randomized enemies bosses and powerups the progression you carry is in the form of permanent upgrades to your health damage rate of fire bullet count spread and dash cool down so there's a lot to improve by spending or coins earned by defeating enemies the objective is to reach level 20 which is a b the line impossible feed but on the way there you will be enjoying yourself a lot if you like a good arcadey shooter and can withstand the very basic aesthetic the game is fittingly inexpensive and there are physicals for it believe it or not for the PlayStation 4 exclusively [Music] though next up is a game that was brutalized by a review and never got the attention it deserves probably because of it I feel like this is projection first light the first review you see if you Google this game is a four out of 10 score from Nintendo life which I really disagree with and most others do too cuz this game got mostly eights and sevens so let's start with what everyone agrees with this game is undoubtfully quite Artful I love the marionette characters and the whole aesthetic of projection the story is also quite interesting told without any words but with some lovely puppetry work the Highlight however goes to the platforming gameplay that revolves around Shadow manipulation with the left stick you control the girl while with the right one you control the little light ball that floats you can move it anywhere and create Shadows to for example extend the size of a platform it's Dynamic too you sometimes have to move the light and create a sort of elevator of Shadows it's pretty interesting and this is where Nintendo life had issues it harshly complains about how the shadow mechanism is broken I understand understand where they come from moving the Shadows can abruptly cause some unintentional consequences but that's how Shadows behave if there is a sudden movement in the light source there will be also a sudden change in the shadows it's natural and they did a terrific job at programming the light and shadows behavior in this game so that you have full freedom to place your light source anywhere you want and in a way that the Shadows feel believable too so the game expects the player to be careful with how they move the light so in my view I see no issues with this it's definitely a complex and intricate mechanism but that's also what I like about it so yeah if you only like Smooth mechanisms in your Platformers this will not be for you but I don't think it's enough reason to give it a score of four out of 10 but anyways I really like projection you may also to it's found physically only on the PlayStation 4 and digitally get some great discounts moving on to B Barian Testament of the [Music] primordials batarian is a Metroid Vania and a real great one too as for the name you're a barbarian with a pat bat following you along and it's a glowing bat his light unlocks all manner of doors and switches around the dungeon but you don't control it directly you need to throw some fruit that it likes to guide him it reminds me of a boy in his blob in a sense [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] personality of their own like most games of this kind this is hard as Nails each stage is Tiny just one screen but some of the platforming tasks you will have to perform are Beyond challenging the controls are responsive and fluid which are the most important things to get right in this kind of game the music is 8bit inspired and so are the graphics I like them both I also like how deviously more challenging are some of the Collectibles to reach and that's it there isn't a lot to say about million Greg you get exactly what you see on this one just a lot of precision platforming fun for fans it's the cheapest on the list for $3.99 digitally and it's physically exclusive to the PlayStation [Music] 4 next is the solid Metroid Vania ENT digit heart of corruption if you like vvv vvv you may also like this one cuz both are more platformer inclined Metroid venance with a minimalistic graphical style and solid controls vvv vvv is a masterpiece though and this is not so the equivalence is only about gameplay and Graphics not level of quality all right but where that game is a 10 this is an a to me pretty solid in enter digon you control a guy in a vast metroidvania looking map where exploration plays a big role and life farming an even bigger one enemies are not a focus at all there are few of them and they don't pose much of a threat the combat is much stronger on boss fights though those are tough and pretty cool I really like the platforming here with the long Dash and some other interesting skills you unlock the hidden Collectibles are a joy to find and reach and the boss fights are pretty cool like I said so if you're okay with a platforming focus Metro Vania and the simple Graphics enter digian dude the physical is PlayStation 4 only and it's super cheap [Music] digitally and next we have a rather divisive game this is an action hackin slash with similarities to Persona even though the genre is not the same it's certainly flawed and will not appeal to several gaming tastes but for the right person this is amusing entertaining and a great multi-layered game we're talking about ether nights okay eern night is the name of a drug in this game that was supposed to rejuvenate users but the side effects are not the best people start becoming grotesque looking mindless zombies not sure if it's a worthwhile trade-off there and this drug causes pretty much the entire city to become zombified except for the anime main characters chosen ones cliche now that's the backdrop just to give you some taste but like I said this game is not for everyone it's super worth it for the right person though so let's see who that would be this game is already niche in the sense that it has a strong Focus on the romance aspect now for me personally I am neutral regarding romance in games if it's good I'll like it if it's bad I'll dislike it I definitely liked it here and it's mostly because number one it's handled Tastefully and number two the entirety of characters interactions in this game beyond the Romancing Parts actually are super well done in terms of the emotions that they convey the animations and facial expressions of the characters are really well thought out and that ties to another main highlight of the game they have something to tell here there is a rocky beginning and the game is budget in many ways but if you can plow through all that the story starts picking up and grows on you non-stop then the ending is great this is a very much worth thing through game it's also Dark and Bloody which oddly goes well with the friendly anime look amplifying a sense of uneasiness that I liked a lot so all right we discussed the major possible problems here all the love and the fact that this game is budget if you're still here things are looking up cuz the remaining part is mostly very positive this is a action hacken slash and a very enjoyable one though not very deep but more than enough for most action fans I feel you have the typical Daredevil Dodge close to when the enemy will hit you that will give you an upper hand several interesting skills and it gets really flashy and awesome the more you go the action happens in The Dungeons and there is a need to conserve healing items and such so I found the dungeon crawling enjoyable as well it's not going to be the best action game ever but it's perfectly solid and with some great personality too so yeah there we have it all you need to know about e nights a great one for a particular audience and I hope that these developers make a sequel or another game in the same vein because with a bigger budget or more time they can make something spectacular next physicals of this game are only found on the PlayStations 4 and [Music] 5 [Music] and next we move on to the bonus section here I placed a few games that I want to feature but don't really fit the list for any given reason so we're looking at two more games beyond the official 15 here the first one is actually only on the PlayStation 5 so that's why it's here this is the mobus machine if you have a PlayStation 5 though pick this one up cuz it's such a great and challenging traditional style Metroid Vania and by traditional I mean the Metroid style alien world with creepy growest creatures vast and interesting map to explore full of interconnected areas loads of Secrets this is a great solid game of its kind it also looks and sounds awesome next we have one that is more of a curiosity than anything quite curious in fact this is future unfolding this is a beautiful game look at it but playing it is rather boring unfortunately so that's why it's in the bonus section only a small percentage of players will appreciate it you have to be really into aimless 100% handhold free exploration to like this the game never gives you the slightest hint if you're going the right way or if you cleared an area nothing which for me is kind of anxiety inducing but Others May enjoy it the game looks amazing too right what a striking art style and perspective other than exploring the vast Wilderness you also do some light puzzles mostly around figuring out how to use some of the animals progress and it's all a fever dream by the way completely surreal the Sheep create a teleportation bubble that you can use to remove obstacles rabbits become a different kind of grass that can distract some aggressive animals and a few others more but much more than doing those things you will be exploring so be ready for a lot of walking and running around future unfolding has a PlayStation 4 physical from limited run and that's the only physical of this game [Music] and that's it people hope you found some cool games here did you add any of these to your list let us know down in the comments if you're interested I'm giving away three copies of a switch game
