#138. Four AMAZING (no hyperbole!) Jungle-inspired PaintPours!! flip and lip / abstraction

hey everybody its Karen for Marco critics back with video number two that you won't see for a few days but I know it's the same day I'm having a little Rose a wine little 5:30 cocktail and pour it's a paint poor party um I'm gonna do a couple little smaller pieces I was very very much inspired by the colors of the last piece from the last video - the greens so using black and white some burnt I don't have burnt sienna couldn't remember the word and Naples yellow and some her knackered own azo orange and I think of doing a series of black and white I'm either gonna call it black and white plus three or black and white plus two maybe I'll put up a little pull for you guys to vote on so basically that means I do four or five videos that definitely have black and white as colors and then either two or three colors of choice may be your choice sometimes may be my choice sometimes because the combination of adding the black and white to three colours drastically changes the outcome in the color look of your pores which hopefully I'm about to demonstrate fingers crossed and the first one I'm gonna do is on an 8 by 10 cradle panel like this and if it's a grape or fingers crossed those guys into these Air Force and floater frames that look like this and they fit right in and then you just screw them in and add your hardware and your information but man it really sets off the paintings quite nice Suns not for sale this one hangs on the other side of my kitchen actually our walls and I'm hoping to get another one like that so let's get started I'm drinking that's because I'm gonna ramble and get you down go pretty good so see him rambling already so yeah colors we have burnt sienna this is Grumbach err Academy here we have Amsterdam's Naples yellow deep I have a lot of it I killed off the tube so I'm gonna have to store some is that guy I have my artist Laughlin kulluk in black and white and then I have the liquitex heavy bodies in the corn a crow and a so orange I'm sorry it's not easy orange it's red orange so it looks like this a very peppery red definitely has the orange undertone so when you add white to it it goes bright bright orange I like that shade with this color combination particularly when I add the black that's awesome I better take these down before I spill them all and what I'm gonna do is show you how I make a darker I mentioned in the last video that I added a bit of black and it's not Payne's gray cuz Payne's grace essentially blue so I'm gonna split this and put most of it in another cup I'll leave a little bit just a little bit of the original color to add not a lot cuz man it's a bright orange when it hits the white and then I'm just gonna take a bit of my black and I'll show you so this is pretty much a half a cup right so I'm gonna put in maybe a teaspoon not even a teaspoon that much of the black and we're gonna give that a mix and get a nice deep rust color just like last time super super pretty mix that really well because you don't want to see the striations of black and the plain so really give it a good mix that's gorgeous so basically it's a nice red russet and brown maybe we'll call it like a russet potato so there's my my russet color that's what I'm gonna call it and then I still have it and you can see the difference right there up close and I really did not like the pouring medium recipe in my last video that had something like eight ounces of the golden gloss pouring medium that was definitely too much pouring medium I believe that's the reason why that particular painting celled up as soon as it made contact with the canvas and I just didn't like the way it reacted I'm finding do I already know it if you use too much of the trooper mediums the golden gloss the gap gate hunter at the liquitex pour medium a little goes a long way you don't need one to one ratios with those products to get it to react to the paint you just need a little bit so that was too much in my pouring medium a recipe mix so I have scaled that back and made up a batch of pouring medium that's only 4 ounces of the golden glory medium 8 ounces of the Elmer's glue-all and 6 ounces of water and we'll see how that does today consistency a little one a thick side that might be actually a smidgen thick I'm gonna add a little bit of water to that chunk pouring I don't know this one has water I'm like one of these has water in it just a little tiny dollop of water I think I should drink for that every time I make a mistake or say something incorrectly I should have to drink so I will drink to that hmm I'm not a rosy kind of gal but my husband bought it is this stuff husband but Rose a Danielle this stuff here it's pretty tasty I gotta say all right so this seems better yes that is my consistency leaves a bit of a trace before it disappears gosh do I love this color this is like the color of the week definitely all right good to add my spot on treadmill silicon I'm gonna have to add 4 drops to the Naples yellow because it's a pretty big cup maybe four in the burnt sienna one in the regular core knock her down and then three in this guy one more Oh two more crap one two and four in the black get these guys a good little stir so I have this 8 by 10 on on the cradle panel as I said and I have an 8 by 10 regular canvas and then I have a little four by six cradle panel mix with this stick alright cup let's start off I want some gray so I will deliberately touch black and white first I'm going to go black want to go dark for a second the other thing I noticed in that last video is that when you layer and you deliberately do not cover up all the paint in the cup when you go to pour and it creates cells you'll get bullets which are the cells it's not just a ring within a ring it's like a larger cell and then a little tiny one that looks like a little bullet of color and sometimes they get oblong shaped and they look like eyeballs that's from not mixing or not layering and covering up the color completely in your cup like I'm doing right now like that I have discovered that and I'm using white kind of like as if it's a color I'm gonna hit the black with it no just stuck my hand in the black that calls for a drink hmm okay I'm back and then just a shot little dark and it'll be a look how much brighter that the quinacridone red oranges by itself I'm gonna throw yellow on top of that all right that's a full cup I didn't dare try to flip cup it well I'm drinking that would be bad that's asking for trouble that's good truthful I feel like I'm ready to tell you something else and I can't remember so I'm waiting you're just gonna top off my glass which I have pain on me this is a pre vacation spirits that's what this is all right cat gloves will take a drink of wine or good luck hope for the best okay this one I'm gonna flip and drag I think the other eight-by-ten on canvas I'm gonna lift up so let's just up and drag this one and see what we get I got a whole bunch of yellow and there we go I did a terrible job I have a feeling I'm I'm gonna love these colors they should prove to be quite dramatic so much that's it a second my sides are taped cuz I want to keep the natural wood showing maybe we will I'm tempted to wreck it but I already like the pattern I don't think that's necessary I am I'm gonna just do this over here yeah whoops keep going on my countertop and went all the way around and I just decorated my tarp that calls for a drink I don't know this a good idea all right I'm much happier with the pouring medium recipe see it's not selling up late did in the last video I'm gonna stretch it out a little bit before I torched though try not to spill it on myself I want to keep some of that red yep oh gosh love the colors y'all love the merger the Kurama gone this damn straight there Karen Grady oh my gosh oh my gosh that's gorgeous so so pretty I'm glad I did both versions of that that quinacridone red orange because the see how bright it is if it's just enough of a pop of color and then the darker shade looks really nice here [Music] if it hadn't had such an expanse of gray I don't think I would have torched it but it was like too much gray cells are looking much much better this time they still have the influence of the golden cost pouring medium the the kidney shapes and some of them and then the rings of course so I need to pour off a little more paint then we get rid of this corner it's too busy let go it's not going anywhere huh did I already pour most of it off it's not that much oh my tarp you got this end down a little bit that's good all right will you come off of this corner alright this this piece is freakin amazing part of my French I'm done I'm not I'm not messing with it it is gorgeous I do so I don't know if I can post this video I'm gonna get really silly I'm a very happy um drinker like the more I drink the happier I get which I guess is a good thing that's um that's this color palette is right up my alley I think it's beautiful I'm gonna stop right there and put it off to the side and get out something else and take a drink so this one already has little thumb tacks on the bottom of it let me make a little stand with two cups that has water in it Karen I move this I will suit let me I lift it up the zoom in where are you guys oh I'm all crooked and everything sorry hmm I guess it would go like that for you but let me just bring it up cuz it's so so pretty right least I think so it's right up my alley for sore yeah I'm gonna put this over here I'll zoom in later closer oops my cups aren't far enough apart hey let go don't drop it Karen that's a keeper don't drop it yeah alright number two um I have my little stands here let me just go ahead and plop little guy one now this time obviously the same colors but maybe a little a little more white in a cup I'm gonna take the white oh can you see okay I'm used to how's that for you guys looks pretty good okay there's my white let's do we do the dark russet color cuz that's gonna get lightened up it might be a good thing I'm filming this cuz I would never remember what I did yeah just a teeny bit of the bright and then the yellow this is plenty of paint and then the burnt sienna give this a flip I can't get over the other one and it's just so so pretty should give my wine glass all dirty why not maybe you can hold it like this I can drink see look we're taking a very late flight to Portland Maine tomorrow like our flight isn't until 10 o'clock which means I can get up and like clean the house and take my time packing dork around and then go to the airport after dinner Wow Wow I love it these colors oh don't run away don't run away you're so so beautiful oh my gosh well let's hope you get some good colors underneath there since I just poured half of it off but man that was pretty coming out of the cup I gotta love the background but that definitely needs a torch right oh I gotta worry about my sides on this one so it is not taped on the sides one spot right there you need something lighter don't you Dara Dara all right see what happens when we torch this guy let me get a paper towel we look at the first one make sure everything's still okay still looking good nothing's moved nothing's grown he's just hanging out looking all badass saying yeah look at me y'all look at me all right let's kind of go up I try not to eat counselors I can already see where caterpillars want to come like right there and right there's like three spots where it's just like double-dog daring me to torch it weh-weh hi and all the colors underneath I'm gonna give it a second because I was dubious his first 30 seconds I'm like no but they're growing just let it let it do its thing let the colors come up let it breathe let it aerate have a drink of wine while we wait for the paint it's dark it's moody I love the yellow rings of the yellow rings the ring the black cells with the rings of yellow yeah very pretty I'm gonna tilt this little corner off I think things are done growing slightly busy I'm gonna come off this one end down here get rid of the white cells bye-bye and this one corner here bye-bye and stretch things out a little bit maybe the other corner over there to get crowded for a second and then bring it back and no I don't like that wait go away wait go away gosh that's a keeper to y'all that is a keeper very very cool definitely uh better porn medium recipe makes all the difference very kind of dark maybe I didn't use enough um enough white it's gorgeous don't get me wrong ah I might just stretch it down a little bit more just to stretch out the brighter parts so it doesn't look so morose kind of like that stretch out the cells and I'll bring them back there we go what do you think what do you think somebody say something I really need like wow there's like I think like a hundred of you I would invite into my kitchen to hang out if not more you know after overtime you started you start to recognize names and things of your followers or your subscribers like oh yeah I remember that person or you had a chat with them so you remember them and I would invite you along to my kitchen one last look at this guy it's pretty awesome I'm gonna cup maybe yeah and set him off to the side one more all right let's move these little doodads out of the way puts him let's make sure you guys can see pretty good yeah okay so I probably have enough pain for two more but we'll see how this one goes and if I need to go and uh grab a canvas or something all right so this time let's start you know what that's issues there's only a little bit of this color left so let's just use this cup and that color so so bright we're gonna put a layer of black on top of it and then let's make it great and add some weight on top of that I'll do just put these up we'll do this this the burnt sienna went paired with white makes a really really pretty golden a tan color so I'm gonna split my yellow and put my yellow and then the dark earth dark like that and that should do it for this hopefully let me flip that over do I dare try to flip that better or not I don't trust my swap girl II don't know that and I'm going to use the leftover paint it's in these other cups just to do my corners and I gotta tell you guys some husband to spent downstairs to do the laundry and he overheard the one video where I told the day story he was not a happy camper he Wow he wasn't as mad as that thought he was gonna be and I really wanted to tell you another story that I will call misadventures in Belgium but I think I'm gonna have to save it for a day when I film and he's not home so alright ready I was gonna lift up when I'm right just lift up lift up and wreck it and I sitting ain't got a Reckitt see what I say about that color and it powerful it is so powerful let me drink to the color all right how much is left in that bottle I think I'm on my third fourth fourth glass and after this we're gonna make dinner not talking to you echo cancel all right think it's done moving around and we know I stretched it out before I torture it I like I like the gray it made these colors would make a fabulous tree ring poor I feel and I see how the difference with the dark color so cool I'm gonna try and save some of it or not but just kind of went for it I'd like my pattern there very much that's pretty cool different shades of orange with the grays yellows all right time for fresh clothes I am gonna go find another canvas I think I have just enough paint for one more and after the last one it's very dark and moody this one's all you know sunny and happy I like a way up high you damned caterpillars bane of my existence you really are but that's a second and just fast word well that's well that's growing I'm gonna go and grab another camels okay I found another 8 by 10 and I think I've enough thing to do it so I'll get out of 4 done today huh that's pretty awesome I gotta say I think I'm gonna do is stretch out this one corner to stretch out this out of the caterpillars they're actually not bad because they don't look like body parts and yeah 2 3 4 3 drunk pouring for the wind man alright all right some of these down and off and then bring them back there that looks better already I don't like this corner I don't like corners to look like bikini bottoms and what I mean by that is you know it has like the little thing and the little thing it just looks like bikini bottoms and I don't know this one is very much I the tiger right here isn't it check it out I'm just gonna kind of wiggle to this one corner so it doesn't look like a bikini bottom and then bring it wow that's good enough so I can't get there all the way that's alright and I don't want to stretch out these cells too much I'm gonna bring those back I got the one corner it's just this one it's bugging me for some reason don't bring that up so you can see it up close that's pretty cool I gotta say these ones are coming out so great and I haven't posted the video I was just talking about which was the 10 by 20 poor for the winner of the 20k giveaway I don't know what it is I just really like these colors without the green don't get me wrong that one turned out like kind of like how I had envisioned you know the walk in the woods thing but these are just really kind of great that's spectacular alright I'm gonna put him off to the side and I decided I should drink every time I picked when I was a kid God eons ago when I was in high school I was pretty athletic I was on the varsity volleyball team and I played softball in the summer and I played tennis and I still play tennis and I was on the basketball team and that was the one sport I was horrible at like I was just all arms and legs and no coordination except if I had a beer had a couple two beers in me I was good to go I even liked the mess on my counter looks pretty alright let me touch up the sides and last one folks last one and I am going to be neat I apologize it's gonna take me 30 seconds I am and throw some tape I wasn't expecting to do this one so pause fast-forward go get a glass of wine yourself well I tape up the bottom of this oh this reminds me my husband for me a 40th surprise birthday party and a boolean counting and it was awesome because this place had dedicated fully lanes for birthday parties they have a three-day four lanes that was actually like on this mezzanine level and you got your own dedicated bartender okay I'm all taped up Disney girls you go chair and dedicated bartender and you know since I was the birthday girl and wasn't driving or anything and I'm normal normally my team and talk now I'm normally not that big of a drinker I uh I had a good time that's to say and I had four I think four shots and then we actually had to bowl and I while drunk bowled seven strikes in a row it freaked everybody out including myself seven and then like the pressure got to me cuz everyone like got all serious and stopped us there like it was all fun and games the first six or seven and then like I couldn't I couldn't deal with the pressure alright so all I have left is I have like this quarter cup of white so we're gonna use this as our cup and let's make some more grey and use the rest of my black you will save a little bit for the end and let's do the burnt sienna whoops she's spilling and then the now let's break it up with the with the yellow lots of your little this time Marty oh good I won't have to save that cup of yellow used it I'm dying to tell you hit the brussels story and I can't oh my gosh the guy's gonna have to remind me when I get back from vacation cuz I'll totally forget this conversation and I technically I watched the video once before I edit never to look at again all right let's do the deep russet color I just gonna have a lot of white I might flip and lip this one let me just use up all my colors it said although the Sienna to that and then I black and other than a little tiny bit of burnt sienna this is all the colors all done all the cups I'll give you okay I'll just give you a hint about my brussels story because it's not all romantic like the how I met my husband story it's more of sometimes there is beauty in ugliness pure beauty and ugliness and that's all I'm gonna say I'm gonna leave you with the teaser haha all right no I still don't trust myself all right with that take a drink see having been able to really drink drink because the poor's been coming out really well it's the pouring medium recipe I'm telling ya once you figure out you're pouring medium recipe it does come easier it's like any job is easier when you have the right tools for a sore alright drink a little more oh my gosh my poor husband's we're grilling tonight we're having barbecue something or other that's good tell you about my little town is always an uproar because they've been repaving roads and they've been taking the four-lane roads and turning them into two lanes and putting bike paths on either side and I dedicated bike paths which me my husband would like to ride bikes we're to definitely living in wrong country let's face it we definitely should be in Europe living in Holland somewhere because we're all about you know don't drive a car when you can ride a bike kind of thing and they're doing that to all the roads around our neighborhood and it's awesome but a lot of people are mad about it the whole share the road thing what are you gonna do alright shut if this one up kinda yeah alright look at those colors that's wreck it put some on the corners so taken with this color combination I was expecting it to be a little brighter given that there was a quarter cup of white I mean I'm happy to see the white stripes all right let's switch this around a little bit did I tell you guys like if you're gonna lip it with the edge of your cup don't dig into the paint you're just skimming the top to bring the colors up otherwise if you do it too much you'll make it muddy or leave a gap I don't do that if you just want to bring up the colors that's all you need to do I'm just killing off paint because I have my sides to consider all right and I'm officially out of paint y'all I'm gonna keep the black there they're gonna keep the way to the corner I'll go all the way with that one no bikini corners slow down slow down you know we're having fun but slow down stop tell yourself to stop sorry let's go up to this one corner where your hand is good bring the paint back to the middle and then come down to this one side try to keep some weight if you can release a stripe or something good come back up might get rid of that one giant cell yeah you're a goner you're too big to be already got one giant one you can hang off the edge something my god looks monkey over that way oh wait my all crooked no I'm good right okay got my sides to consider whoops on your sides look small tiny spots right there in there okay it's like a catgirl cavern cave caverns let me torch up high I would have finished my wine and I better stop drinking until I have some food in me mmm cheers to my subscribers thank you thank you thank you you keep me in paint you know the you know 200 or 300 dollars I get a month from YouTube keeps me in pain so I can film for you so thank you thank you hmm no matter wine which is the wires to the whites underneath I don't know if I'm gonna like that oops didn't mean to throw that right there dammit that's right that's not that's said a second how long is this video I feel like I've been talking to you guys like for hours I can't see what does it say 45 minutes I don't sleep par for the course for me look there's a square cell that's bizarre oh why did I take off my gloves nobody's darling let me put some new ones on that's not it's okay it's not rocking my world as much as the other ones were but now I have four paintings on the same color palette and it's interesting to me why have a minute of lucidity that no matter what I did a lot of white a lot of the black no matter what I did the palette hasn't really buried at all for all four and I'll show you that when i zoom in all right why do I have square cells that's bizarre Oh maybe it's like that maybe the pain is like I'm done I'm tired tired of working for you lady I'm done I just want to stretch some things out I'm gonna go this way whoops come back this way stretch out the caterpillars that's basically what I'm doing let's be real and then although they are like alone online and they are curvy so I guess they don't bother me too much sorry you can't see just give me a second no I'm taking some off the other end they're right here yeah like I just don't need any penises in my painting I just don't I don't bye-bye okay yeah bring it back the other one looks like a centipede so that's okay ah the white cells are kind of growing on me I guess that is the one difference his eye that you know quarter cup of white let me come off the top a second there's too many cells up there that quarter cup of white at the bottom of the cup there's that's what the white cells were from for sure so definitely this one definitely does have more white on the top whereas the last eight by 10 I did has the white as a background and how do I feel about this one I think that's pretty amazing too and should I'm done with all four of these yep do I wanna mess with this one at all I don't think so I think it's pretty great let me yeah I see the orientation of this one kind of like this I don't put it down like this that's how that one looks so if I pick it up without dropping it that's what that one looks like shut up and let me get you down I'll do a quick zoom in say goodbye and yeah that'll be hit well so here's the first guy I put my glasses back on so I can see what the hell I'm doing come down low cells white cells are primo the yellow cells are pre mode the black with the orange yeah that's a keeper right come up high kind of hard to see if the mess on my counter I'm sorry let me go this way how's that is that better get an idea what it looks like and then here is the Tiger one over here it's amazeballs it really is I gotta say that one there let me turn my camera is it would go something like that all right and then the little guy looks like this right there oh it's raining oh and then the first one that started it all is way over here love that one too really cool really really super cool and Here I am I'm off to on vacation you guys have fun happy pouring happy painting I'll
