12 Useful Things I Wish I Knew Sooner in ACNH

hey guys how's it going welcome back to another animal crossing video in this video i'm going to be teaching you guys 12 things that i really wish i knew when i first started playing animal crossing i'm making this video because i know a lot of people over the holidays would have gotten animal crossing for christmas and i really want to have a pretty good guide to make you guys not run into any problems like i did and make the mistakes the tips are going to start off a little bit more basic and they're going to get more and more advanced to things that probably even you veteran players don't even know about so look forward to those all right let's just jump into it tip number one guys you're gonna be walking around your island all the time fishing catching bugs and then eventually giving them to blathers when you get new ones but sometimes you're not 100 sure if you already got them before in the past or if you actually have to donate them and it can get confusing so you pretty much take all of your bugs and fish go to blathers and he'll tell you oh no you've already given all these and you're kind of sitting there a bit confused did you know that when you actually catch a new bug or a new fish your character will actually say yes in the dialog box before it says what you caught so here on the screen you can see me with the oar fish and you can see in the dialog box it's saying yes now obviously you would remember if you already caught an oarfish but some of the fish look really similar especially the bugs you won't know and you will look out for this dialogue option saying yes and you will know to run right to blathers and donate that right away so that later on in the game you're not completely baffled when you've caught every single thing in your critter pedia but you're not done your museum and you have to go through and figure out exactly what you're missing and it will drive you crazy trust me this little tiny tip will be something that will help you in the long run way later down the line but you'll be so glad you know it now tip number two is something that some people that are really advanced don't even know and it's a really really simple thing of course you probably already know that when you are crafting you can spam the a button to speed up the crafting animation as well as when you're talking to villagers you can press b to speed up the dialogue but did you know that when you're crafting you don't have to spam a you just have to press it twice you literally double tap it and it will go faster so you can save your thumb muscles i guess there and something that specifically bothers me when i'm hopping islands looking for rare villagers is when i'm spamming b to speed up the dialogue when speaking to villagers i accidentally cancel the dialogue or i press a by accident and i accidentally accept the wrong option i have to restart right from the beginning it sucks did you know that you can just speed up the dialogue by pressing the l button instead yeah it's that simple you could press the l button you're never taught this or there's really no way to find it out but yeah if you press l it will speed through the dialog and it will stop at the end so you can read quickly and you can also be safe whenever you choose those options rather than accidentally spamming b i know that's technically two tips but you know i'm gonna combine them into one so there you go that was tip number two now for my third tip now something that you're gonna be doing a lot in animal crossing is decorating and for that you're gonna need diys there are two ways to get diys number one make sure to run around your beaches every single day and pick up the bottle there is a bottle there that actually has a message in it as well as a diy make sure you do that every single day and don't miss it because you'll be one day behind every single time and you will wish you got it but the second way that you can guarantee get a diy is by running to the villager houses around your island and finding one that is crafting a diy recipe we can see lucky in the graveyard and if we go to the house we can see the lights are on and if we look up you can see smoke coming from the chimney so that means that lucky is home just that in general is a really good way to see if they are home but also you could just come to your plaza where villagers are most likely to be so we can narrow down who is crafting even more right now we can see pico and piper are right here in resident services plaza so i don't need to go check their houses because it's guaranteed what is that face i can guarantee that they are not crafting right now so you can narrow it down and make this process quicker also a really cool tip is right here you can see kabuki's crafting your friends can come to your island and actually get the same diy from kabuki so if you find something like ironwood which is hard to get and people really really want the diys for invite your friends over share the love now for my fourth tip so while walking around your island every day you're going to see these little tiny stars that show that there is an item buried there but something you might not know is that when you run up and you find a golden beam look at that it's beautiful if you dig it up you will get 1 000 bells but did you guys know that you can bury up to 10 000 bells in the hole and it will grow a tree that actually gives you back three times that amount of bells so that means every single day if you bury ten thousand bells in here you're going to be getting a tree every single day that will give you 30 000 bells which means a profit of 20 000 bells every single day that you normally wouldn't get tip number five at the moment you are probably just taking the fish that you get and selling the nooks cranny but if you can wait just a little bit longer both cj and flick will come with their respective tournaments there is flex bug tournament and cj's fish catching tournament and after those on the day that they are on your island you can actually sell them your fish that you caught that day and also that you have stored away for a lot more you no but for real tip number six is make friends now you're probably gonna notice that in my last few tips i kept mentioning friends or your friends island or something like that but what if a you don't have friends that play animal crossing or b they're busy everyone's lives are different and you can't always be on at the exact same times maybe you're like me and sometimes you end up being nocturnal and all your friends are asleep when you're awake animal crossing is all about the community and that's why i created our community discord discord dot gg slash chase if you go to that url now you likely already know that in order to get a lot of resources you're gonna have to hit your rocks every single day you'll be able to get iron clay stone money from your money rock and if you're lucky gold but sometimes you might be missing out on a lot of those resources if you aren't hitting the rocks in the right way and because every time that you hit the rock you bounce back a little bit and one way to get the maximum amount to all eight resources every single day from every single rock is putting something behind you that blocks you from getting pushed backwards this can be as simple as two holes that you dig every single day this is good for a naturey theme where you can't actually place things there physically or like a river but there's another really good way is that you can actually build it into your island's decoration if behind you is something like a river as you see here or a fence like in this corner you can actually just leave that there every single day and just walk and do it really simply you don't have to dig the holes which can get a little annoying at times it's all up to you and if you're really advanced you can actually build a rock garden but that that gets a bit more crazy and that requires a lot of work so let's keep it simple for now tip number eight is something that i'm going to admit i haven't even done until i made this video i never completed it if you go to the able sisters you're gonna notice you get greeted by mabel and you always talk to mabel and you see another little cute little hedgehog in the background working away creating some patterns did you know that you can actually talk to them or maybe you did talk to sable you talk to sable and sable says something like oh i'm too busy can i can't talk right now can you go away and you might think wow this character is rude but sable's really really cute and sweet and i'm not going to spoil it for you guys because you're probably watching this video you probably haven't done it already but talk to her every single day she starts warming up to you a bit and you get these really cute dialogue tidbits and on top of that you get something at the end so uh i'm not gonna spoil it again but just make sure every day you talk to sable you become friends it's a really cool thing that i didn't even know about until more recently and i didn't actually even put into practice until really recently so make sure guys when you come in here to get the different outfits every single day that you also don't miss out on talk and disable each and every day you won't regret it tip number nine when you go around your island or on nook mile islands you're going to notice that sometimes a wasp nest will fall down in either a you're trying to catch the wasp for the actual critter pedia and giving it to blathers to complete your museum or you just don't want to deal with them and you don't know how sometimes your reaction is not quick enough to go into your inventory switch to a net and then catch them however there's a really really really simple way to do this all you have to do is when you go to shake a tree you do two things you have your net out in your hand already and you approach it from a roughly 45 degree angle kind of like this right so you walk up to the tree 45 degree angle you shake so what would happen is i actually have a clip of it here and your character is shocked faces the actual wasp and then you can just press a and you catch it instantly without fail and it honestly it works out a lot better and this is going to save you a lot of ugly swollen faces when you get stung so you're welcome for that one also a really cool tip is that you can actually sell the wasp nest and the wasp at the same time for 2 800 bells so actually this turns this really negative thing into a good money maker tip number 10 i'm going to tell you something that will probably really save a life even more advanced players don't know this but flowers they're beautiful right everybody knows that but we also all know that when it rains they get a little bit out of control and you want to have pathways that aren't always covered by flowers as you can see right here i have this beautiful pathway and my flowers right here there's no hassle you would think that it takes a lot of upkeep to actually be able to keep this but no i have a little secret so once you actually unlock the design app on your phone you'll be able to avoid messes like this which i haven't actually um done it on but as you see here uh when you are actually placing down your flowers you can go into the custom designs app so you can actually create a custom design that is completely invisible right there i have the design pattern it's just blank completely blank you don't have to put anything there and what you can do is you can display this on the floor of your island right on the floor right around the flowers where they will grow and they can't grow on paths the game thinks there's a path visually there isn't one right there and you will be able to keep it really clean and beautiful guys this is big brain this is something a lot of people don't know and yeah you know share this to save a life so now you can have beautiful areas beautiful paths without your flowers driving you crazy when they grow when they're not supposed to sometimes they can be even more annoying than weeds because they are much harder to get rid of when you have a full inventory of flowers usually you have to go run and sell them all and that leads into tip number eleven when you are actually around your island decorating or as i mentioned before digging up all of the annoying flowers that accidentally grew all over your island you don't actually have to run all the way to nook's cranny you can actually carry a garbage can or a trash can in your inventory and just decorate with it always there and you can actually place it on the ground open it up and get rid of the items in there yes you can sell the flowers for a very tiny bit of money but as you know guys it's really not going to add up to a lot so this actually saves you a lot of time bonus tip guys along with the garbage can also carry around a crafting bench so that you can place it down anywhere so you can create diy items wherever you want or you can recolor items on the go so you don't have to keep running to either resident services or to your house or wherever you have one of those you always have it with you it really really helps out when you're doing big builds and you just have to keep running back and forth oh trust me this will save you so much time and finally tip number 12 is take it slow this game was meant to actually be played slowly day by day in your daily routine and experienced that way if you wanted time travel do it absolutely but don't rush don't rush to get that five star island and beat the game because you guys are going to look back and realize wow i kind of missed the simple times it's it's not about the goal it's always about how you got there and decorating your island taking everything step by step and day by day is by far my favorite and most people's favorite way to experience the game because you're going to get what a lot of people are getting right now and it's burnout all right you'll get bored of the game because you played through months of content in weeks and you'll think it's the game's fault but really we kind of rushed it you know i suggest making friends keeping it simple uh playing when you can and don't not playing when you don't want to anymore so they're going to be times where you're like oh man i just i'm gonna stay up and i'm just gonna finish this and oh man i have to get it done today no just go to bed wake up tomorrow morning play it and just play it when you're enjoying it that is gonna be my best and i guess longest lasting tip that everyone will struggle with at some point with that being said guys i
