hey everybody we are back yeah yeah for our uh final discussion installment for 10 times better then wow how long has it been over a year i've been doing 10 times better for a year i think we started in august year of last year what yeah august last year how did i get that many that many conversations out of that one subject we spent you know you're serious preachers so you'll be on one subject for three three weeks and that was a book that's a book right there yeah easily and yeah and then some of the some of the lessons were like 15 minutes 16 minutes so depending on how long yeah you know some chapters are shorter than others i need to yeah i need to get get somebody to um transcribe those for me yeah then and the uh other ones you different met upstairs that time yeah um oh yeah that thing when they we had the guys on friday night and saturday morning yeah yeah the mentor program yeah yeah yeah what did we call that i'm trying to remember the name but i cannot remember okay thank you robin thank you sylvia yes i ate her she's always got more work for me i know i know just just you can do it yeah it reminds me of you and press guy yeah well it's true we try to balance it out though how do you consider the schedule okay yeah maybe wait before you give me something else yeah yeah i gotta weigh that first so i kind of managed to schedule where you're not too busy around certain times okay appreciate that hey pat brockley how you doing hi oh if you have any questions please share point out greatness more and more that's joe [Laughter] oh thank you aydah wow that's a good way to put it that's one way to put that's one way of uh of uh loading more bricks on the wagon and you're feeling good about it yeah yeah oh here we come if you have any questions it's good it's a very good lesson good clothes was it good clothes good clothes yeah okay good wrapping it all up um and i'm sure for the ten times better women series brothers watch that too because i'm sure you'll learn oh yeah oh man flip side on that yeah yeah um so any questions jump in there so it was it was cool um with the not conforming thing to procrastination thing okay you don't when you don't feel like it that's your cue to yes sir step in there and do it yes sir it's important it's important yeah it's usually the non-important stuff we don't talk ourselves into it no that's important stuff man like going to work getting up on time paying your bills studying and doing something unselfish yeah it's all things we don't feel like doing at times yeah i'm trying to get back to reading a book a month and i'm like huh let's get back into it i was doing i was doing good too i was reading and what what books were you reading uh anything you'd be fiction okay top 100 list top 50 lists what bible stuff bible theology books okay so i always just mix it around like when the hunger games series was out i read all those okay diverging i love those dis utopian yeah movies for kids you know yeah teenagers i read um what's that thing with the with the hobbits uh look lord of the rings yeah those books are long man they are that's why i haven't read them yet they dare oh they're super long they're it's like reading war and peace like eight times but i heard they're so good to read though like they are very good but it's just they're so long you don't feel like you're making any progress and the font is so small okay so you can imagine if they had it in a regular font how big the book would be yeah well the well made the movies were three hours long and they cut a lot yeah yeah yeah but those good three hours though man just yeah man that's good stuff next up i'm gonna sit down and watch all the harry potter movies oh i need to sit down and i've seen them all at least twice i read the books twice yeah okay i read the books twice each book did the movies get it close the first four okay for for those of us that are purists the first four are the best because they stayed pretty true to the text okay the last couple they you know they kind of got creative it's still good but those first four are just amazing i think they have a game of thrones yep first couple seasons phenomenal based on the book then they start getting super creative then it was like yeah yeah hi angelette how are you donna how you doing my leader good to see you hey my leader if you have any questions um post them up i don't know how we got from procrastination on today oh we started talking about it oh read twilight oh maya would like that well yeah yeah yeah i'll tell you later why yeah i know right yes i'll stick it i was thinking yeah yeah twilight i remember everybody's talking about it twilight he's so cute um oh boy oh creisha has a question yes i said earlier why do husbands get so bottom when they come home and find dinner's not on the table but their wife works overtime and calls their husband to say i'll be home late it stays to get violent she shouldn't be with him yeah there's no explaining that that's foolishness she shouldn't be with him yeah yeah yeah yeah yep that's the simple answer yeah i still remember that time i was this lady came to me was for counseling and she uh she told she said her old pastor told her to stay in an abusive marriage and just pray man we had a conversation after that you dove into that didn't you dove into it oh man complete foolishness i've had them say that to me your mouth just i'm saying who told you that okay i call that test tube advice absolutely yeah because if your child was in there you would not you wouldn't say no and i think a pastor has to look at people like they're part of his family not just somebody who's a member of his church yes that way your compassion is different yes yeah yes true yeah probably she probably had an instructor mm-hmm absolutely not a father in the past i'm not a father and a pastor yeah yeah yeah yeah so you guys got any questions tonight come on y'all it's the last 10 times better for men and then a couple weeks we start 10 times better for women lord have mercy [Music] gonna start with the daughters of the left hand an unusual beginning i needed a group of women to match the group of men that uh that we started 10 times better with yeah yeah you know how you study something than you see a whole lot of stuff differently than you thought before absolutely oh yeah absolutely absolutely yeah i know it's not the wool but the sheep that makes them valuable absolutely the wool's an added benefit you're not concerned for the sheep then you're just there for the wall yeah yeah too much of that going on i think fascinating absolutely absolutely yeah i don't think you need to put your cash out up on every single thing you do i just i'm just sorry i'm sorry just i'm just saying it's just i know yeah they they do it all the time like do they really yes all the time for everything everything yeah every video they do everything is just cash up ordinary cash out cash up cash or cash i'm like look people will give to you if you're saying some good stuff you know they're selling to you like that that's so interesting and i'm not against putting putting cash i'm not saying no everything wow i don't even have a cash yet yeah you don't need one either i if you use it it's got to be between people only people you know because yeah it's too much stuff yeah yeah that's why we got you paypal okay yeah that's more secure no no keisha you weren't wrong that was just a simple answer that's all you weren't wrong at all yeah so um moving on from the procrastination um to the three hebrew boys all of that i think i think a man that can't handle pressure refuses to be a man i agree with your whole heart yeah we we all have our weak moments and it's not sitting there acting like you know but you got to be able to handle something no i think you know it's really weird how you know we said this years ago when we did the um four men loose thing i think that we're actually designed by god to develop maturity under pressure so if you will if you avoid responsibility and avoid accountability it actually hinders your maturity problem because we've been created to develop under the weight of accountability and responsibility absolutely oh now aydah's getting some work for you you're right yes i'm looking into doing proverbs soon yes yes i actually moved into a devotional trying to write devotional okay i've been what something i talked to you about years ago yeah yeah i've been working on mine for a while now i got kind of held up during the pandemic and homeschooling the kids and all and you know putting so much energy on those things that i didn't you know your creative energy is kind of you have to have to redirect it yes sir i understand by the time you get home sit down yeah i don't like doing this and that writing thing i think people that don't write don't understand um there's something you can do your research on on your characters you can do a lot of research and not have any emotional content but i'm not sure you can write the text or the heart of what you're trying to write without having your emotion be involved yeah yeah yeah that is so true as i was thinking about taking myself through it and doing it myself like actually waking up every morning and doing them for me then right now what i do for others yeah hi linda how are you hi hey this how much you're waiting on that now you got to do you got a deadline now right right oh my goodness i know i know okay you guys any questions please ask them yeah i hope i did a good job but i hope i didn't do such a good job you don't have anything to talk about you explained everything thoroughly you know okay i was trying to close it out correctly yeah yes linda i was asking you how you work good glad to hear that you're doing well oh cool and well aida's a part of our social media our our connections social media team yeah oh really okay she's volunteering so we can work her now too so there's another lady down south um sister larue she's part of connection she wants to be wants to know if she can do some writing for us or can some research for us or some some bible reading she really wants to do if we want scripture read online she wants to do that okay good and she seems to have the voice for it articulation too okay good little connected and get it together that's good yeah that's one thing about virtual members one thing i love about technology is you want to be in the building actually get a lot done you can right do stuff yeah people can people can help you yeah people can help them teacher says she'll be 52 years old next month wow you're just a young girl keisha what can you get up there with me close to the big 7-0 yeah ready for your birthday in january yeah in november you'll be 70 and yeah i always know release 29 30 years apart yeah i'm like how old am i like oh bishop 68 i'm 38 okay that's like maya's like four right yeah she's she's like 10 years old yeah man just she wasn't born yesterday she was one day before yesterday i asked her stuff about the 90s she might remember that i forgot she's like four or five years old i'm like never mind we love you maya you know that of course she had a dress on the day all dressed up and stuff i know she looked so nice today yes and then she was sitting in the dark the whole time it was you know after she tried to say raven like four times you said purpose was a process so do you mean never live on purpose can you elaborate a little okay um purpose is customarily thought of as a destination or discovering purpose as a one-time event so many people perceive purpose as a sudden revelation and see it as the end of a process rather than the beginning because the moment we get a discover purpose we are have have moved into a journey for that purpose to develop um i think that um the way the church has taught it is purpose was a destination and you know you get that discovery now know my purpose what's my purpose well when you're asking god to show you purpose you're actually asking god to show you part of your life journey and purpose matures and develops over time so the discovery is just the beginning yeah yeah yeah yeah thing continues to unfold like who the who how would have thought at 70 something close to 70 you're still learning so many new things about oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah ministry stuff you could do that you think you didn't know you oh yeah oh yeah you know it's just um and i think that's the exciting part that uh uh god you know the the bible says that the memory of the saints is precious to the lord and i think it's i think it's still good that at this time in our history i'm still revelating and still still uh still hungry for hearing you know god's word and and that those words becoming seeds from my own revelation so it's um uh i think uh it was desmond that asked me you know what am i studying i'm studying everything i can get my hands on yeah and i'm you know i only have a few people that i listen to with a with a student's mind i tend to listen to people that are teaching things or believe things that i have not focused on you know so yeah yep i don't think you find it from a quiz uh speaking of purpose i've taken the quiz i still have no idea what my purpose is well you can't get it from a quiz lender no no i purpose is divine purpose um that's a pretty good hustle to tell people you can take a quiz and figure out what your purpose is um but the reality is um your gifting will clue you as to what your purpose is because the purpose and the gifts go together they have to partner for fulfillment but but the greatest thing the greatest way to discover purpose is to um begin to work in the kingdom and not only will the holy ghost make room for you but the talent and the gift that you have will make room for your ore will reveal give you hints as to what god has created you to do so it is a discovery and real purpose is discovered i think passing it over time yeah yeah yeah the fullness of it yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's like moses had no idea about all the stuff that the wilderness he just knew god told him go tell pharaoh let my people go and then all of a sudden the wilderness exposed him to all this other stuff he didn't tell him about the red sea and talking about mana it that stuff he learned along the way about his assignment yeah yeah and purpose purpose is not as much about us as it is about how we're going to impact the lives of other people yeah so um just like i believe that uh there are many things in the kingdom that god gives us to do assignments gifts resources that he gives us to impact other people so you can get an idea of what your purpose is by looking at what you're passionate about and looking at how what you're passionate about impacts the lives of other people yeah yeah yeah i think um so so you should have an idea yeah i just answered that for yeah yeah a lot of not a lot of times i find you the pure purpose is a thing that you're scared of but want to do at the same time mm-hmm it brings this satisfaction out but it just gets you yeah why do people associate purpose with finances and success as opposed to our reasonable service for freely got got for free the guy gives the gift but many pimp or profit she corrected him regular profit like money profit not speaking i i think that there is there is a correlation biblically between purpose and god supplying uh your needs there is a correlation it cannot be gotten away from um but the bible also speaks very clearly about being greedy for filthy luker there's a difference i believe when you're in purpose uh god will bless your efforts and that blessing does include success which is you know uh which is another word in the bible for prosper and it does include that god will supply your needs so it is a matter of whether you are whether the finances or an outgrowth of what you do or whether you're in it for the finances i think the purpose uh dawn is that you're that you want purpose the purpose that you want purpose is essential if it's god's purpose you want your life it's going to impact the lives of other people if it's just an empire you're trying to build all it's going to do is benefit yourself yeah um what if your gifts are various hearts that have no definitive direction because it just comes well then that means that if it's arts then that means you must um begin to pray it's like gifting you have you may have a dominant gift and then you have a secondary gift and you can have a third gift but you have to be able to discern which is your dominant gift and how to operate in that gift and how those other complimentary gifts support the dominant gift a lot of people spin their wheels for years in the kingdom because they never discover their dominant gift which is the gift god wants them to have not the one they simply desire it's not the one they simply desire yeah um helen can you re-ask your question and put it like in one thing for us how do you recommend one begins to work in the kingdom i i think it's very easy i think you begin to uh volunteer to assist in ministry what what god has shown me over the years is that um when you invest your time your talent and your treasure in his work then the discovery happens as to what god wants you to do and what he's created you to do so you can you get to work and then god reveals you know your your creative uh place while you're working and you and you and you work in an area of desire to help people or work in the area where you have natural talents or work in an area where you have gifts um what i think the body of christ working in the church is one of the primary ways one of the best ways to discover not only purpose but gifting and and honing talents and allowing god to use what you got naturally from elevate that effort elevate that talent to another dimension in the kingdom so i think working in the church is the primary way that god causes us to discover who we are and why we're created yeah any other questions yeah as a leader in prayer ministry okay good okay how do you overcome being triggered when writing your story it almost feels like i'm reliving the event when i write about it you don't overcome that you channel you channel that in into your writing so that your writing is not without passion um it should not impact the accuracy of what you're saying uh it should not in in involve um maybe just taking off on someone but it should that correctly channel emotion can empower your writing so it's not something to be afraid of it's something to use uh in your writing yeah yeah it's interesting how god works stuff out in you while you're doing it oh yeah oh yeah and sometimes the book's not for everybody else sometimes you got to write your own story but you get delivered by you know just that expression yeah preaching to yourself yeah mm-hmm hey pastor dean hey pastor dean how you doing what's going on sir yeah aydah says it's healing to write your story yeah and it you know what and a lot of people want to write for others but just writing your own stories can be therapeutic for you and it may not be a story that everybody wants i think i was talking to someone a couple weeks ago and everybody not everybody a lot of people want to write but and everyone's story is unique to them i think the difference is um is it going to be uh attractive to other people yeah you know um i remember when i wrote hill without stars and it was a series of of counseling encounters in different circumstances on airplanes waiting for trains um you know all those kinds of situations um and when i when i pulled all that counseling experience together and wrote the book i never wrote it initially for it to be therapeutic for everybody yeah but a lot of people said that it was like they were having a counseling appointment okay you know and um so what god did was take the wealth of the counseling experience that i had and we deposit it in a book and i still get letters from people talking about how the book is helping them how they've read it three or four times how when they have an especially rough season they go back and read it again yeah like some some good to push during the pandemic too with all this stuff on all people oh yeah yeah hey darrell what's up man hey man any other questions is 706. that went fast yeah we gotta get ready for warfare and work tomorrow tomorrow morning school and uh well back and i think it's uh you have shepherds tomorrow i believe yeah yeah i've got the passage tomorrow night yeah and then we're back with um linked on tuesday right maya yes linked on tuesday bible study how much more how much of your study do you share what part do you share remain personal you are left to be scrutinized or should you care i think you should care i think unless you're trying to create controversy your book should not create casualties and i think i think we get further helping people than we do harming people with our work and the other reason is there's so much written out there today that is scandalous on purpose yes you don't want to get lost in the sea of scandalous books or scandalous expression um i think that uh i think some things how did god give it to me a little while ago i think the wisdom from our failures is writable rather than documenting the failure all the details yeah yeah people talk about keeping it 100 and their story doesn't help you it just gives you a oh they went through that too but if you take the wisdom of your experiences and write that i think you make an impact on people's lives that you know hundreds of thousands of people would want to hear and read yeah i have spiritual downloads often but sometimes they are too much to articulate how do you adjust you write them down and then you ask god for clarity one of the things that i pray often is that god would give me the spirit of wisdom uh spirit of understanding uh as i increase my knowledge of jesus christ so basically you ask the lord to illuminate your mind what's this what's dawn saying that was more of a statement which i've been told by many things i guess she's had some bad experiences with okay okay yeah okay yeah not all not every leader is the same not every ministry is the same yeah i think i think the the wisdom from your experience is much more valuable than you relating watch this now if you if you um if you flunk 12th grade and you're going to write about flunking 12th grade there are millions of people that have flunked 12th grade but the real appeal will be the wisdom that you gain from that experience and that means you don't have to spend as much time or any time on actually flunking 12th grade you spend the time and release the wisdom attached to the failure if that makes sense any other questions yeah so tuesday we have link couples ministry um wednesday bible study i don't think we have anything thursday do we i don't know no no i don't look that far ahead anymore yeah and then uh friday i believe we're we're good well i want to thank i want to thank everybody man for um joining us for these 10 times better conversations discussions um pastor nick you know let me help me to realize it's been almost a year or a little over i guess and some of you have been just about 99 percent of the way and i just want to thank you all for making 10 times better a success and yes do look forward to the book 10 times better man but we're excited about uh beginning the ten times better women series in about two weeks three two or three weeks and uh looking forward to your comments your discussions tell somebody about it so that we can grow the ten times better family yeah and i believe that's going to happen yeah yeah yeah all right y'all the lord bless you and keep you have a smile upon you see y'all later all right now bye-bye
