I followed my dreams and open an antique store to have adventures and spend time as a family sometimes you have to climb a mountain and open some new doors to find the treasures inside this is our life this is our adventure and this is curiosity Inc well folks welcome back to another episode of curiosity Inc I'm Alex and today is a busy day we are doing two things one is we've got an auction happening online which we're gonna watch and see how some of the stuff we've brought back from that store and the Saskatchewan is gonna do and on top of that at the same time we have a garage sale happening here we are selling off a whole bunch of Records that are part of my dad's estate and trying to help clear that up for my mom so lots going on today probably not going to cover off much of what the garage sale is doing that opens up in about a half hour but we will cover off the auction and hopefully get some good results goal today is to try and make ten thousand dollars at today's auction sale and I am parked at home in the comforts of my own home watching the auction here you can bid from home you can watch it's a pretty great system they have set up again it's Kastner options on I'm using for this sale so I can be here uncomfortable I miss out on the concession stand which is always kind of funding at an auction habit or a hot dog but not the case today but I do get to see my kids and wife so that's always good so it's fingers crossed as we hope that we reach our $10,000 goal today let's watch and see so now they're putting up a 68 Camaro SS let's see what this guy goes for I'm gonna turn the volume on here [Music] you know you built VIN number on each inspection for registration in water differently to ensure new wheels tires as well we did benedi subwoofer many windows poor girl carburetor new baby's wiring harness so it is aware [Music] [Music] [Applause] fifteen sixteen seventeen fifty to be thirty wwwww e39 box is empty now the velocity coming the incoming wwwwww by 16 2016 13 the box to determine where do you buy them except right here today 16 17 16 17 5 CDs feww w6e by commodity by belief [Music] that's a nice car but not having a VIN number is a real problem that I'm guessing the last owner probably ran into that when he went to register so as they said its buyer beware when it comes to an auction like this if you're buying it for parts so be it but for me $17,000 I'd rather go and put that money towards one that's on the road and ready to go now but I'm sure the seller will be happy that he got some money back out of his car and we're gonna keep watching this auction another car coming up this one looks like a decent dude applause yeah so funny with the selling new laptops model-t laptops how much you gotta sell ten thousand is already pretty strong bid right off the hop so tough to say in my opinion it's probably only worth about 14 or 15 but we'll see [Music] lazy for that money you can put it in their living room and just use it for every conversation piece $11,000 you can't even begin to restore that dark for $10,000 my 1931 model a with the deal in Toronto was $40,000 to do a frame-up so there you go [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so at 14,000 $750 plus probably a buyer's fee on top of that these guys definitely paid up and when you're giving bids from the floor like that they were not only bidders that means that those were kind of in the moment bids they didn't go there looking to buy a car they were probably sitting on their hands they got caught up and what I call auction fever which is why I stay away from auctions because I to get auction fever and I don't want to come home with regrets of buying something but that does look like a pretty good car I think at that price that's pretty well full retail for it though so probably not a massive bargain like it would have been if it was six or seven thousand dollars but at least they don't have to do any work to it so not a bad car not too bad of a price and I bet they'll be happy and driving it on the weekend so let's keep watching and while they go through what seems to be a sea of laptops our item is going to be coming up in the near future here we have lot number 333 there's a bunch of and other stuff here there's ours we've put in a very nice restored vendôme 44 Coke machine now it didn't have the inner rack but the machine was working perfect so we're gonna see what that goes for that's what I'm waiting for my stuff starts right around this unit here and then goes down so okay we are just a couple Lots away from our Coke machine coming up so we're gonna be keeping our eyes peeled on the screen here and hoping that we get a good return on our investment there so that machine I'm into it for I think around a couple thousand dollars so let's hope at least I get my money back to put into something else guys one more bit one more bit more money back [Music] [Music] another [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] people for our first item up I'm pretty happy even though they're gonna take a bit of an auction fee on this we're still in the green we made some money I was into that machine I looked at my books here for about $1,700 so you know probably six seven hundred ollars profit but more importantly it gets money back in my pocket to go buy more cool stuff so if the rasty auction keeps up like this for us this will be a pretty good sale radio we put off I'm not expecting miracles out of it five or ten bucks is fine let's get better than I thought oh here's a bigger one we have I'm hoping this goes for I was like how the auctioneers try and get more interesting out of my just saying the name different here we've got a radio we're gonna be a radio like that's gonna add to the excitement auctioneers are great and I know in the UK they kind of just talk through the auction it's like five dollars so five dollars six dollars very good six not that way here and I think in the u.s. is pretty much the same our guys pretty much go nuts the tongue-twisting bond one hundred and ten hundred ten in in and like crazy but you know it adds the excitement and when you're used to it like I am you know I think the other way might be a little bit too calm for me I think people get the excitement going and the blood flowing and everything is just so much more fun but we're gonna keep watching I've got a few other small things going through and we're gonna stay tuned for the big ones but so far I'm pretty happy with the prices things are going for looking good I brought it actually not so little [Music] thank this lamp is one of mine but to be honest with you I can't remember it's pretty bad a lot of this stuff in this range here I have to look back in my sheet when I check it in by the way if that's mine 20 bucks is fine decided to join me so Jason the goal today is for us to try and do ten thousand dollars in sales do you think it's gonna happen yes okay well he's feeling positive about it I'm feeling pretty positive too so let's hope today is a good day oh and here's a bunch of Crocs pretty much all these are mine that I brought in so pretty much whatever they go for they go for much better would sixty bucks does he have a win medalta was made in Medicine Hat Alberta which is where we got the name from they're quite popular very good Crocs great for picking okay so this little cupboard is ours it's actually nicely painted [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] 190 bucks is actually a pretty good price for that phone you can find them for a little bit less if you go in there and teak stores maybe a little bit more but I feel like I got full blown retail on that phone and I'm happy I made some money and we're getting close to our goal I'm super happy with that I thought I would go for 30 bucks I wish they would photograph that was supposed to be with a lot of these items that I'm selling today I'm just glad they're not coming back to the shop because I am over full so far they've exceeded my expectations there's been a couple things that I thought maybe were a little bit light like the painted cabinet there I thought that would go for about a hundred and a half it didn't but takes the right person to be in the crowd of it on these things and you just hope that there's gonna be two of the same people who want it and drive the bids up so let's keep watching and I'm hoping that a couple of my bigger items will come around soon and we'll start to get some money towards their goal now this piece has potential it is solid oak it's a nice filing cabinet good usable piece of furniture the dust your furniture usually does pretty good got it back hopefully 200 bucks stalling out so the next item coming up is my motorcycle 262 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 CC it's a decent bike it's really low miles we took it on trade at the shop and now it's a fraction well that went fast I was into the bike for 3,000 bucks so basically I got my money back out of it but it had been sitting at the shop for several months now so I was really looking forward to getting that money back and getting the bike out plus winter is upon us and you know there's really no reason to keep a motorcycle around and winters so one more thing gone a few more to go but you take the 33 from that and you know the almost 3000 for the others so we're more than halfway to our goal so looking pretty good [Music] [Music] [Music] so is now three hours later since the last update I did this auction has been going on pretty much all day the kids are here watching with me and we've got a few pieces of furniture coming up so we should know the tally here within about ten minutes of how we did today pretty exciting [Music] so that's not too bad hey guys yeah next 100 bucks that's one of the things that Steven and I brought back from Saskatchewan okay here's one of ours we brought back climbing pretty good right now [Music] well it could have been better we had that at the store for $1,100 I think I paid 750 for so we lost a little bit on that one but we did get some good gains on other stuff so overall not too bad so let's keep seeing what the other stuff goes for [Music] [Music] all right not as much but usually the lawyers bookcases like that go for about five to seven hundred dollars if not more granted the one I took in the one that just sold needed a little bit of cleaning but two hundred seventy five is pretty cheap for one of those bookcases somebody got themselves a deal [Music] [Music] [Music] so we lost about 50 bucks on the really nice roll-top desk however we did make it all back in the next slot because I think I paid about 100 bucks for those three stained-glass windows and we ended up getting 180 apiece form so it ended up being pretty good so a couple more to go and then we'll do the final tally [Music] [Music] getting a little bit better than the last one so I'm trying to tell my boy here that that's actually not so bad we didn't make as much money on the one but we got it all back on the other and I think between the two of them we paid maybe he's I think we paid maybe $400 for the pair so that's not bad that means we got six seven eight hundred and fifty or so dollars um so we did good we made a bunch of profit on it that's pretty good right mm-hmm okay almost at the end some other piece for the event an antique store ok kiddo so the next one coming up is a sixth or filing cabinet what do you think it's gonna go for it's ours have a good look at it you think it's gonna go for it I'm guessing 600 600 okay well let's see 15 bucks right now is not looking very promising I think I like your estimate better okay so the auction has ended we've done our final tally and our goal today if you were called was to try and hit $10,000 well in fact we did just over $15,000 today in sales and that's pretty good news especially coming into the Christmas season here what I'm gonna want some new stock on the shelves we're gonna roll that right back into something else so thanks again very much for watching if you haven't already make sure to hit that subscribe button and you can check us out on Instagram and on Facebook as well under curiosity incorporated we'll see you guys soon and bye for now
