chapter 3 so this new also the last days perilous times shall come visible as our own selves covetous boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents and here we go unthankful right behind unthankfulness unholy and if we've ever raised a generation in America we've got people marching in the streets demanding their rights let me go on record and say I don't want what I deserve I don't want what I deserve I won't mercy amen and I got what I deserved I died and go to hell and I'd already be there amen I don't know any of us can just go ahead and put our halos in our pocketbooks and our my little case we all should have went to hell hey man I'm not walking around when I pray and ask him God for justice I'm asking him for mercy hey Dad thank God that his mercies are new according around lamentations every morning and thank God that the psalmist said that it's mercy he'd do it forever hey man you look at Romans 1 Romans 1 ends up into great apostasy we like to jump on that last rung of that ladder brother Jason we we want to deal with those that wicked sins that it ends up where men are burning when their own lust toward other men using their body from old holy things and maybe we're not there yet in our life like the world is but you go to that if you'll look at that Romans 1 like a ladder it's like a ladder in down into depravity it's not evolution it is ad evolution in Romans 1 I mean evolution things are getting better my hind leg here they ain't getting better I mean in Atlanta last just to the last a little bit had a mama put some babies in the oven and cut it all and kill her if that's evolution I don't want no part of it amen he said what are you saying preacher that first run before they get down there and all that see on and all that perversity the Bible said this neither were they think and they didn't glorified in that verse I like what you said them into going this what brought this to my mind it said we need to be consistent in our worship we need to be consistent in our praise I don't care how bad your day went today brother Kevin it's better been inhale I mean I don't care how bad it seemed like the wheels came off the wagon and how feel like it or the Lord is good when the bills are paid and the Lord is good when everything's just lining up under that King James Bible said the Lord is good but there's not a time he's not good but there's not a time he's better than the other he's good by Nature [Applause] say preacher how can we be consistent well let's look at three passages but the Brandon first Thessalonians 5:18 turn and find it brother Jonathan Ephesians 5:20 preacher man Psalm 103 verse 1 I'm afraid love folk don't won't get saved because they don't see us enjoy being saved I'm Brooke and I want somebody look at me and said man I can't loves Jesus man I don't know if I'm just old his I don't know if I believe it like he does but I believe he believes it I tell people all the time you may not believe what I preached my below when I get done they're gonna know I believe what I preach hey man God help a preacher and don't preach like he believes [Music] hey my how can we be consistent first Thessalonians 5:18 I know a lot of young men I've know a lot of young preachers I know a lot of young Christians man they're beating their head against the wall trying to find out what the will of God is there's wanting to know brother none what's the will of God let me just tell you this when God gets ready for you to do something different he'll tell you and until then you just do what he told you to do the last time he talked to you a general of the United States Army down to a private you know what they do they go over the last orders they've been given until God or another general gives them some more you know what I'm doing I'm doing the last thing he told me when he talked to me and until he changes that I'm not change it people say well you all these are being abandoned or be a pastor y'all be y'all not be both well I think I'll just do what God said a man he's the one paying the bills hey 1st Thessalonians 5:18 go ahead stand up and read it brother Brendan and everything Rigo just ridges God right in the middle of when they're out there God might just go out there in the middle of where I'm bring them home are you listening except by the Kevin did this is this is the this is the grade school verse the rest of them get a little bit more difficult if we can't get a hold of it get it we don't need to go to fees ins five cuz there's the real tougher everything you said why is that the easiest because it really doesn't matter what the circumstances are around you and I just be honestly yeah I worship and praise should not be but should not be resting on the circumstances around us it ought to be resting on the God that's in us I mean the power of God lets us rise above of the circumstances and the burdens of the day hey that's what it's about living in the Holy Ghost I remember reading a preacher owner on a tarmac sitting out there and man it was just storm was going wild Lightning flashing and the pilot came all and said I've got a little bad news there's a severe thunderstorm this bearing down on the airport right now and said the winds are going to be bad and there's a danger of lightning strikes but said if you look out your window he said hanging beneath those wings are two engines we taught what kind of engine they were and they said those engines will grant us the power to soar above the storm he said in just a minute we're gonna pull out on the runway and we're going to power up those engines and if he said if you'll give in just a few minutes it won't be long so we'll be able to break the clouds and we'll come out on the other side how can I tell you thank God the Holy Ghost that's in me it's given us the power where we can live above the fray and we can live above the fighter and we can live above the solar sea don't really matter how bad in it as long as there's somebody in it with me you said something last night about we don't always know where we're going I don't always know where we're headed but I do always know who I'm following done everything how you doing how you doing with that end everything you will note the will of God is young ladies in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concern is how we doing within that'll be a good first base of making us consistent Christians you brother you ready but Jonathan Ephesians 5:20 real loud let's break it down giving thanks always for all things in was a whole lot easier than for you say how do you know because over the last five years I've had to learn how to thank God for Alzheimer's I've had the world in my secret place instead of saying God why'd it have to be my mother why'd it have to be a Christian like that why couldn't it be y'all pray for me I said Lord what could have been some drunk mother or some dogmatic mother that did love her family and didn't love her grandchildren why couldn't it have been her y'all pray for me I don't know any other way to preach but honest last time I checked I put my britches on just like you do sir I was sweating that thing brother Jonathan be old and build that I submit it wasn't only long if I don't let it go all there have been a root of bitterness spring up in me what night god broke me down up in the early morning praying he just pretty much put it to me you gonna have to learn how to thank God for it I don't understand all that and I can't I can't see on the other side of the smoke Abraham staying at the front of that tent and he's looking at that Solomon silence burning and the smokes coming up handle Abraham's watered I wonder if Locke got help I wonder if life got out Abraham didn't know but thank God I'm serving a god that you can see on the other side of the smoke praise God and what I don't understand that and what I don't know what God's doing but that doesn't mean he's not doing something let me ask y'all so this is for my group I love them they know I do what about some of the hell's some of y'all had to come out of to come to the hole and let me ask you this I wonder if some of you sitting here would not have got saved if it wasn't for the hail that he brought you out of [Music] what the devil meant for Eve he tried to destroy your life even if you were in a good home he was destroyed trying to destroy your life but the Lord let it get so bad that somebody picked up a phone somebody picked up a phone who said I've got a young lady I need some help and you might be able to go back and thank God for all that mess because it was the road that brought you to repentance some of us came in can't get in tonight because we're fighting that for there's something in there you can't get past it you want to worship God but it seems like every time you want to worship God that for at one situation that one failure but whatever it might be you just can't get through it I can't imagine this raw when I I looked over here to saw you I saw his face in my mind have no answers they just buried a son buried a brother that used to come to camp with us years ago I don't pretend but I would just have to believe it somewhere down that road god sure made himself really big in his heart and in your family and I don't know that we'd ever seen him quite like that I went in the other day and I said mama I love you it's been a long time since she told me she loved me I said mama I love you she said thank you and the Holy Ghost Moke me and he said maybe that's what you ought to tell me when I tell you I love you so the next time we got the good service and I felt like the Lord just pulled me up close and said I love you I said I love the bank I just said thank you I want to thank you that you love me oh and I don't know it's hard to say thank you but for kids and it's hard to say thank you but for Alzheimer's and it's hard but there were some people that y'all came in contact with that did not know God that said man but what's different about that family what's different about that young man and there's no telling that we get to heaven what scenes were solely doctors and nurses and people you came in contact we are the in all things he said give it thanks always for all things [Applause] [Music] what's your four that you [Music] we had a late other day that went to the hospital for one reason they ran some tests trying to check out what that problem was and found a whole other issue and had she not been struggling with this problem over here that really had no bearing they would have never found that tumor that was hidden inside of her body everybody okay I'm talking about for all things fire all things I remember been the pastor for three years and it just it got hold I'm talking about like oh and I'm not talking about glory all I'm talking about like fight [Music] and I literally laid across my desk one wins tonight and laid over my desk they came I said it verbally I said Lord if you don't help me I'm gonna die [Music] I mean Church trouble church troubles like family trouble and it's really what it is it's family trouble see what I didn't know until this side see miss Tiffany when when I first started passing our church we had a lot of young couples my name is Amy's age young families and I was their pastor I was their pastor but their brother Larry they was a whole group of silver haired people out there that knew this fight was coming they knew it was coming I didn't know what was coming but they did and when it got there I didn't understand all that God was doing but that fight had come to many preachers before me many of them had just left but I couldn't leave I couldn't leave God gave me no Liberty League we went through that and I remember coming out of one of him one of those were those wins a night meetings next Sunday more than 50 people were going [Music] but all them silver haired folks that were sitting there that knew it was coming we're still sitting there and guess what I was their pastor now I was just the man in the pulpit I was their preacher that had gone to bat for them and go to bed for the will of God and I thought God was gonna kill me and I thought God I wasn't gonna make it through in the whole time but God was trying to exalt me in the heart of a group of our folks and I would be their pastor and their man of God and the place God was gonna do something in that work you know what we had brother nun the next summer we had our first camp we had camp for the first time a year after that and maybe my telephone just squeeze it over I may not have turned it off it ain't mine answer it and tell him I'm preaching I'll be back with her if somebody won't send an offering just give him my address see I didn't know all that I didn't know what God was doing I'm talking about for all things it's some of the things but Jerry's hard in the middle of it to say far and I'm not sure brother Jason that some of that stuff some of that forward it might not have to be in but somewhere down the road we're going to say thank you for how you within me so we've said that we all to thank him and praise Him in everything and we've said the Word of God tells us we ought to thank him for everything now Psalm 103 says we ought to do it with everything puts a man he's going to CrossFit a man and he's a lot like me we're a little OCD most men of God are OCD a little bit and we don't have but one gear [Music] amen and if you don't go out at all with what you got man let's go do something else are you listening I played ball just like he did we talking at lunch we played if it could be I didn't play soccer that's that's a that's a European and a Latin American sport amen we played football I'm talking about with a helmet and shoulder pads hey two months running in soccer [Music] too much running in football about five yards that you get to hit somebody a man I mean hey sometimes I wish we didn't have a church softball team I wish we had a church football team oh yes hey you know what our coaches would always you say you know you know why coaches their history teachers and not math teachers because they say give it a hundred and fifty percent you know such thing is our honor and fifty percent bunch of dumbbells that's why they taught history to teach math amen give it a hundred that sounds good you can't do that what they tell you these these these statements leave it all on the field leave it all on the court leave it all on the diamond play ball long time did you good athlete they spa it's alright that's fact a man [Music] you ever really felt like you played a game with everything you had I mean every ounce of everything you had you ever felt like in all the years I played ball from the time I was five to the time I was my lad I played we had a I played my freshman year in college I was 19 so that's 14 years 3 sports don't tell how many games how long did you play same time in all in 14 years Jer feel like you every gaming everything you had it's alright there's I think one night one night for me looking back we get a little wiser we thought then man we'd gave it a whole I remember one night it's a junior high school the crack back and hit a guy I've played tight in and I cracked back and hit a fella I mean it was one of them hits you couldn't wait to get two films on Sunday because it was gonna be really good cuz that coach had that little rewind button and we could make that guy back up we can make you we could make him fly backwards I mean you know it was really good and you know everybody's going you know you know it was you know it's one of those that you know is going to be good on Sunday so I cracked back and hit him and I hit him so hard that it popped the rivets out of my helmet but the screws came out and you know we didn't have chips in our helmet you know this is long before a concussion protocol when that bladder you know the bladder you might not even remember that they had those blue bladders in those bike helmets busted it Shh I mean this out I went back to the huddle and I was I was man that the stands looked like a tie-dyed t-shirt I mean man I'd hit him but man I thought my head was coming off I went to put my hands on my knees in the huddle and I miss my knees and fell over just fell face-first in the dirt referee came over and said what's wrong I said my helmets broke he said go out so I went out and coach grew and looked when I read all there he said what are you doing here I set my helmets broke he said somebody gave him a helmet get him back in the ballgame there was no tent that they put me in and asked how many fingers they were holding up there was not a trainer over there don't put me through some five-step report I mean man somebody had to be a helmet I strapped about going I went back in there yeah yeah there was no three weeks aw they wasn't three plays off I took one play and I put another helmet on and for the rest of the night they took me by the seat of the pants and put me on the right side of the flying that I was supposed to be on somewhere in the second half a running back stepped on my ribs cracked two of my ribs I played on scored my first touchdown that night I'll never forget we were walking across them we were walking across the field and shake hands and I shook hands with those guys and I passed out cold turkey I mean I'm talking about laid out cold turkey and they took me off that field at 9:00 in stretcher put me in the ambulance took through the hospital no telling how many games play 40 football games in my high school career 125 probably 130 hundred 32 baseball games in four years in high school just high school not travel 35 basketball game 30 basketball games four years 120 games so 500 games if I look back in those four years one time I think I might have gave everything I had one time I got saved when I was 13 they'd saved 30 years I guess I mean even then I've gone to church three times a week when I was I mean I went to church more before I was even born and a lot of folks go to church in their life I had a drug problem when I was little you said what was a moment that drugged me to church every time a door was open praise God I'm glad they did I got saved when I was 13 so I've been saved 30 years the last 4 or 5 years I've preached 45 weeks a year outside of preaching at home outside of being a dad outside of being a husband outside of being a son outside of being a son-in-law are you listening no telling how many services I've been in and if I look back and I I've asked myself the question and God the Holy Ghost was preaching his truth to me in all those services I wonder if I've ever praised him with everything that was in me but a layer there might be one night that I can remember one night maybe I don't even know if I could say then but maybe but Jared you'd have probably been there you remember one night they were singing Lord give me a drink and then it just got you might have been there several years ago Riley was 12 it's been four or five years ago you just stay up here with me I like you up here I just want the Haynes Baptist Church to understand this I love your pastor I love his wife and I'm not his son Amen God's put a special place in my heart for preachers I love you preacher they were singing Lord give me a drink of that fountain Oh how's it go Jared all the living water that flows for me to everlasting life and that was Riley brother Kevin that was Riley's first year at team y'all probably heard me preach this if you have y'all just act like it's Brett Rae he's young I like rich brown you and I look down there and you know 12 years old first time at teen camp and everybody knows him because they know me and he didn't want to do nothing he didn't do anything to make himself look like oh you know I his boy don't look like a fool so this just made me know it was even more real I looked down there he was on the middle aisle sort about right here they were singing that song I I saw him get a little bit lower I saw him get bent over and he was a shaking he's in the glory first time I'd ever seen him in the glory 12 years old I looked at that preacher beside me bro saying I said I mean men tears just streaming off his face and I never seen him like this I said he's about to take a lap I said he's about to run I've never seen him run I've never heard him say hey man I've never seen him put his hands up had no reason to make that statement other than I felt like that's what he's about to do and I told that preacher I said if he runs I'm running with it brother Larry y'all know it said God's honest truth that platform is that high it's that high and by that time brother Brandon there he went you know Riley he's not he's got his mama's he's sort of like his mom very quiet and reserved now Carter the little ones like me if he gets an old girl he'll testify five times in one service but Riley's quieting together and all of a sudden there he went here I came off the platform I didn't take a step I didn't step on the step I ran off the platform and the step I hit I was right behind him and he was a praise and God I was praising God and we left that place he was said hallelujah I said hey man he'd say bless the Lord I'd say glory to God hadn't we Romney man it's a big old place and we were running around that place and we came back around to the end he made a second lap I didn't run that second lap I felt too much like exercise and not worship I mean that was uphill hey man he shouted on and he he'd come back by and some of his buddies got to worshiping with him you say don't that embarrass you you're a teenager that like that not a bit in the world and I dare you to say something about it it's alright if our kids go out any other way excited about anything else but when we act when they act like that about Christ we we think they're fanatics I'd rather them get excited about eternal things you know gonna last forever than a pigskin or a ball Amen everybody okay you said what do you saying preacher well he took that second lap I didn't take his second lap but for the next two and a half hours brother Kevin the Lord let me wait out deeper into the glory than I've ever been you say who moderated don't know brother Dean was up there brother Dwayne was up there somebody took care of it all these preachers afraid to get out of their control I'm wounded out of my control I can't do for them kids what the Lord can do I'm not trying to get them to me I'm trying to get them to him and when they get terrorized have at it so honest y'all do I saw honest-to-god truth it ain't about camp it's not about the preacher it's about Jesus it's about Christ for about two and a half hours God let me worship I mean I got done my coat was off shirttail probably out about like yet I don't think I had my tie on if it was is about half crooked I mean I look like I've been giveaway I mean I was I had sweated through my t-shirt through my bread was survived soaking wet and if I did have a towel the knock was so wet I couldn't untied you say man what are your folks think when you act like that I really don't care you say well chat advance your teenagers I don't care cuz one day I wanted to walk around the casket and know they had a daddy that love God more than anything in this world more than anything in this world one day they may need something Belial they may need somebody get in touch with God when they've got children or a family and they'll be glad daddy's walked with God a little bit hey you said well I would like yet well if you if you've never embarrassed your flesh in church you've probably never worship God when I got done shirttail probably just I'm not being I'm not being disrespectful but it's probably like yeah I out soaking wet we dismiss Church we take our camper I don't ever forget a lot of that other part was foggy with this part I remember we're not there to step up in the camper we got a fifth wheel so it's sort of high and I tried to step up in there and honest before God but I didn't have the strength to walk up those steps I just sat down on the steps miss Amy said what's wrong I said ain't nothing wrong I said but I'm more round I said I'm hot to rest of it and what God was preaching this to me if I've ever worth something with everything I had it might have been that mind I mean I just give out I'd give everything I had physically I gave everything I had emotionally how do you everything I had spiritually he said preacher what's gonna make me consistent like the pastor said imprison God see our praise is so fickle this day in time some of us need to go see what these Christians in third world countries live like and we think we've got it bad I mean I'm talking about we think we've got it bad I've been out there where I've rode it when I rode the church in the back of a cattle truck turning off a road ride five miles on a dirt road and come up with this little little town search starts at 7:30 6:30 the chapter church is packed so packed that they don't let the children come in because there's no seats for the adults preach an hour in 20 minutes and I'm soaking wet and then I get done they'll say Prince again preach again let me ask you something have you learned how to say thank you in everything have you ever learned how to say thank you for everything and I'm asking this I have sinned and come short of the glory of God that means every single one of us has had problems issues seeing failures faults in our past the great thing is this is that Jesus says I'm the way the truth and the life no man coming through the Father but by me there is a way to be able to have hope to have eternal security within the Lord Jesus Christ to be able to know that you're saved by the grace of God now the great thing about the Bible's it tells us about the love of God he says for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth him shall not perish but have everlasting life and that's amazing to a lot of people making quoted but the beauty of it is this is the very next verse tells us the purpose of Christ because the Bible says for God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world that the world through him might be saved that means that God sent his son to die for those of us who are sinners so that we can have fellowship with God himself now if you're there today in God's will in the middle of your heart I want to ask you this question do you really believe that God's been dealing with you about salvation if that's the case today then I want to tell you what you need to do is repent of your sins you need to diet itself a bit that you're a loss and you're on your way to hell and then look at what the Bible tells us that he tells us that we can be saved through Christ who do you call there's only one is about salvation in any other for there's none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved it's only through Christ in Christ alone so I tell you today would you trust in Christ when I ask you would you would you trust in him as a personal Savior you said brother Jason I don't really know if I can do that well let me tell you the Bible also tells us that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved it don't matter who you are where you come from God sent his son to die for everyone if you've made this decision that's today to be able to trust in Christ to be able to die to yourself to to be able to start living for Christ and accept him it's a personal Savior after
