brunswick stew and brian's invited us to come along and actually i think he just wanted us to work but i think it's a 10 gallon pot pot is 15 but we're growing this 10 gallon recipe this pot here has been in their family for like over a hundred years so let's check out what we got we got like 15 pounds of onions diced up 15 pounds of taters diced up we worked on them last night i read these are just to read the recipe or you can read it how about that six hole chickens ten pound of cut up beef two pounds of fat back you got your onions and potatoes three quarts of butter beans five quarts of corn three number three cans i reckon that's big cans pounds that's three pounds okay so you need six pound each you got some local salted fat back and pretty much everything here other than the can stuff he was able to source locally so i'm gonna try to bring y'all along on brian's family recipe here for the stew hope you all enjoy if you like what we're doing make sure you hit the thumbs up for us hank there my boy make sure y'all hit the thumbs up for us subscribe ring the bell where you don't miss any of our upcoming videos there goes some of the local sources some of brian's chickens brian's cut up meat there goes the fresh local corn fresh local beans all right we've got it to a good boil we're fixing to start adding the ingredients in all right there goes some chickens going in i got some beef some beef getting more packs cut open a lot of groceries in this pot looks like yes sir take six whole chickens six whole chickens yeah we're gonna ball it further until it and then pull the chickens out and pull all the bongs out right yes sir i believe we're gonna have to add that other thing to water big pack of cut up beef well let me just dump these in first go ahead and open the butter beads these still got a little water in them yeah just so i left my fuzz in there there goes 10 15 pounds [Music] yep some butter beans got our beans got our fat back let me see here this paddle here has been with this pot for a long time this used to be a full boat bore and uh it has now wore its way down from stirring this pot now we got to get the taters in there let me get this down some yeah 15 pound of potatoes go in then we just gotta then we gotta do beans i might have to dip some of that water out all right fixing the you might want to pour the water out of that again brian because i didn't drain them too good don't look like all right don't look like i drained them at all now we can add the 15 pounds of potatoes now we gotta bring it back to a rolling boil we're gonna let it boil till the chicken's done we're gonna pull all the chickens out remove all the bones and go from there about 20 minutes into the bowl looking good all right they're starting to pull the chicken out getting it all off of the bone brian's taking it off the bones they're transferring it over to this pan if i want to get out good on that yeah all right they've got the fat back pulled out they're going through now making sure that we haven't left any chicken bones we'll be adding the chicken back in there in just a minute going back in with the chicken that was six almost seven chickens there seven whole chickens deboned it down now thinking i had the pork and beans gotta be vancouver that's right yeah i asked about could we use bushes cause i already had plenty and she said no no don't don't ask your mother daddy and her have always had vanity camps and it's just van camps hulk and beans if you look on that label it does nowhere in that it says after the van now that is measured precisely your salt and pepper correct well that hand right there is measured more salt and pepper than you can imagine i like mr um justin wilson yeah mix it in is that sugar yeah there goes a little bit of sugar no i think you need a third handful they wouldn't eat as much that's what i did to my corn thanksgiving i put too much dang pepper in it i don't know put your tomatoes in there and then you pull your heat back up [Music] so y'all using crushed tomatoes yes ma'am he's not a man you don't know it might be hard to tell this day in time that's what i mean i didn't mean to do that how many cans were putting in there nine pounds nine pounds of crushed tomatoes okay [Music] these are libs these are nine libs they pronounce lb libs and they're all open libs and oz's here goes the butter just use that shovel so now once we get the corn in brian and the butter melted then it's time to start sampling to see white plastic spoon here goes the corn going in [Applause] oh you could hold that right there for a second [Applause] come back up to a simmer let everything get all love it up together in that pot then they'll do some taste testing and see what else they got to add to get it to where they want it [Applause] all righty got us some saltines broke up in there giving her the taste test got us about five dashes of the pucker butt pepper company original hot sauce in there bon appetit all right it's been several hours now we we've all ate everything was very good delicious and now we're packaging it all up well there's the finished product i think we got 36 and a half quarts after everybody's eight and got their belly full we've got the cast iron cleaned seasoned back up well i sure do appreciate brian and his mom for letting us come along on one of
