[Music] there's a few things that can never go together like orange juice and toothpaste sloppy joes and white t-shirts and predators befriending their prey but nature is full of surprises there are times where big cats save rhinos from other predators and other times big cats straight up just keep other cubs as their own at times some of them would attack them playfully but let them go eventually here are 10 times predators save their prey better stick around for number one to see this lioness who decided to skip a free lunch and adopt her meal instead alright let's get started number 10 lion saves impala from leopard impalas in the wilderness seem to have really good luck because one way or another they escaped death by the skin of their teeth in this incident a newborn impala was sitting with its mother right after she gave birth to it out of nowhere a leopard sneaks up on them and no it's not the same leopard from earlier this one tries to bite the head off of the baby the tiny creature struggles but having no strength it can't do much moreover the mother impala ran away but forget about her baby luckily a lion who was previously overseeing all of this decided to intervene and fight off the leopard successfully and it doesn't just save and run off it sits with the baby licking it and comforting it like it's its own cub when the lion realizes the mother impala is not coming back it decides to adopt the baby right there and then either lions get a bad reputation or leopards are getting crueler as time passes number nine leopard saves newborn baboon in legodema the leopard found by the national geographic team lived in okavango delta and now that she is about two years old it was time for her to hunt for herself baboons are a staple item of their diet and so she went on for this one now this leopardis was a clever one and easily killed one and you're probably wondering but isn't this video supposed to be a predator saving its prey well when she was carrying her kill to a safe place to munch on an infant baboon crawled out from beneath lega demo is confused at first but changes her demeanor instantly she starts to nurture the baby baboon cleaning her when a few hyenas decided to examine legodema's kill she forgets about her food and carries the baby to safety and the whole night she takes care of it if this isn't a miracle of nature we don't know what is number eight lion saves baby rhino most predators look for claps or baby prey because they're weak creatures and have no idea what to do in a situation like that hyenas already look like they're scheming something bad and in this case they're trying to dine on a baby rhino a pack of hyenas is as smart as primates they methodically start attacking the baby rhino while its mother is right there the mother rhino tries its best to protect their baby but because there are just so many of the hyenas it gets harder to defend besides rhinos don't have night vision one hyena even goes as far as locking its jaw around the little rhino but a nearby line will not let the rhino get hurt it doesn't rush to dine on the rhino itself instead it knocks down the hyena now the mother and baby rhino can walk away free number 7 lion saves wildebeest from hyena lions seem to be getting nicer because once again a lion comes to rescue a baby wildebeest this seems like something out of lion king a baby wildebeest was frolicking around living its life by hina's are never up to any good when these hyenas spotted defenseless wildebeest baby they immediately started to chase it in hopes of getting some good meat for dinner before it could reach the wildebeest a lion takes one of the hyenas down severely injuring it however it leaves the wildebeest completely alone even sitting with it for a while another good lion what a sight number six tiger raises piglets pigs and tigers or any big cat of the sword aren't usually found in the same environments so how did this tigris end up adopting its potential prey in the sriracha tiger zoo located in bangkok a tigris was suffering from the blues after her cubs had died and she was left all alone this gave the zookeepers an idea they took a litter of piglets and wrapped them in tiger skins the sight of supposed cubs had made the tigers so happy that she adopted them as their own you might think this is some sort of setup but it's actually quite a common practice in thailand she now considers the pig as her own family and the piglets treat her like a mother this just goes to show that family is anyone whom you love dearly before we move on we've got a speed challenge for you if you subscribe to facts junkie and hit the bell icon in the next five seconds you'll win 10 years of incredible luck give it a shot it actually works number five lion adopts baby wildebeest in the animal kingdom surviving is a test and this test started just mere minutes after birth for this calf the baby wildebeest hadn't been in this world for more than a few minutes and it already had to be on the run since elinus had her eye on the baby the calf's mother scared for her child tried to rescue him but it was a very weak attempt he was left at the mercy of the lioness who clearly isn't a soft-hearted animal but that's what she seems like when the calf is captured needing to bite down on him in an instant she cuddles up to him even mother wildebeest gives the lioness a second glance as if to say huh this wholesome action makes the calf imprint on the lioness and immediately forgets about his real mother the two unusual extremely unusual pair sit down for a bit and just as you thought the lioness was a softy she walks away to find another prey what a roller coaster number four leopard befriends impala an ordinary encounter between a prey and predator is always violent and an aggressive one but this leopard right here was nothing like that instead it seems like he purposefully befriended the baby impala without any evil underlying intention the young apollo seemed confused at first by the gentles of the leopard and rightfully so who wouldn't be confused by this in fact the person who recorded this was a game ranger who said this was one of a kind sight first the youngsters nuzzle its nose with the leopards just to check the waters the scary part is when the leopard suddenly starts clawing at the poor antelope who doesn't even try to run thankfully the big cat is just being playful for now deception is actually quite a common tactic among animals on top of the food chain you never know what might happen the next minute so if we were in the antelopes place we'd definitely make a run for it number three lioness adopts baby antelope look closely for this one because you might not believe your eyes a lioness called kamuyak and the samburu national reserve did the unthinkable it adopted a baby antelope she would often lie down with the antelope and just spend time with it as if it were its own kin her whole story was recorded by saba douglas hamilton and her sister dudu who were just as surprised as everyone else but it wasn't just one antelope she adopted a whole six of them she had a pride of her own only there were lion cubs in it when people single mothers or angels this is what they mean she would even protect them from other predators and even other lion prides that attempted to gobble up her babies unfortunately she died of starvation since her cubs weren't actual cubs and would not help in hunting for food number two lioness raises tiger cubs animal friendships can be found between cats and a squeal a small animal helping out other small one but a lion helping out its tiger's friend is a sight especially because they're both on the same level of the food chain the lioness helps a friend raise the tiger cubs she doesn't mind cuddling with them and this part is so wholesome you can't help but smile while the tigress is away finding some dinner for the rest of the unusual family the lioness takes care of the cub who needs a male anyway number one lioness adopts free lunch john vardy a south african wildlife filmmaker has made enough documentaries to last him a lifetime and he's been actively trying to protect tigers and lions when he had an abandoned lion cub in his hands he thought of the most bizarre idea then he places the lion cub near two tiger cubs he hoped that the mother tiger would accept the lion cup and keep it as her own when she returned to see this she was skeptical about the lion baby sitting near her cubs sniffing it as to make sure it was worthy of killing or not this moment was a life and death situation for the baby lion the tiger did the thing that was the most unexpected thing and accepted it the next morning the baby and its other siblings were all suckling on the mother tiger and that's a wrap for 10 times predators save their prey which one of these surprised you the most let us know in the comments below also make sure you give this video a thumbs up subscribe to the channel and check out this playlist for more incredible animal stories see you in the next one
