- These are the 10 things you should always buy at ALDI. 10 things you need to buy at ALDI grocery stores. Hey, guys. Welcome back to the channel. I'm The Deal Guy, Matt Granite. If this is the type of content you like to see, please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe, and make sure your notifications are turned on, because for my next video, you'll not only get that information, but when I do the 10 things you should never buy at ALDI, and all these insider secrets tied to Walmart, Costco, BJ's, Sam's Club, I'm here to make sure you keep your cash where it belongs, in your pocket. Before we get to the top 10 list, a reminder. All of your best deals are available on MattsDailyDeals.com. I do use affiliate links, which means I benefit monetarily if you are kind enough to use any of my links. I should also mention to you, guys, that crazy deals like this $99 pillow, down to 25 bucks, is one of the best finds on MattsDailyDeals.com. Now ALDI is not paying me to talk about them. They're not aware this video is being made which means I can share some insider secrets with you. And the other thing I wanna mention, guys, is if you disagree with me, please leave me a comment. If you agree with me, if you have additional insights to share, make that comment section a valuable resource for the other people watching. First thing you should always buy at ALDI, spices. And just to put their spices into perspective, they have many of their own lines. And if you guys for any reason unfamiliar about the history of ALDI, I'll take you through that. But this garlic powder is $5.39 at most grocery stores right now. Might be able to get it for $4.99, McCormick and Schmick. Different prices at the time I'm recording this video, but this is $1.99. In fact, if you search through most ALDI stores and just user-submitted photos that pop up, $1.19, 95 cents, 2.99. It depends in the area where you are shopping and some of these prices are different by zip code. But because ALDI has its own in-store brands where their motto is highest possible quality at the lowest possible price, they're able to not only control the level of competition in their grocery stores, but they can ensure that you do get that heightened quality, and that the actual price you pay is far less in most cases, on this list of products that I'm sharing. So the number one thing you should always buy at ALDI, spices. The second group of products that you should always buy at ALDI, cheese. And I can tell you this as a father right now, with a daughter that is obsessed with American cheese and all the cheese she shouldn't actually be enjoying on a regular basis. I know that what you're seeing right now is a weekly special. But I've canvassed the last few weeks of specials and they all present comparable prices on cheese products. And whatever it is, if the price that you see on your screen right now is not identical to what you would find with either in-store pickup, delivery, or a visit to your local ALDI's, I am telling you right now, they are more competitive on cheese products than any grocery store brand right now. So please keep that in mind when you are shopping for cheese. That is a great product to buy. That being said, that doesn't include all dairy products. Milk is generally not a great buy at ALDI's and that's because of some controversy tied to the milk. I'm gonna discuss that in another video because this is the 10 things you should buy. But again, if you like this type of content, please subscribe, turn your notifications on. The third thing you should consider buying from ALDI, wine. The wine selection from their Winking Owl brand, is not only incredibly popular, but many of the wines, I don't know if you guys know this, are award-winning wines. So if you are on a very limited budget, that whole Two-Buck Chuck phenomenon, taken even further, the wines that they have are not only well-received but there's independent YouTube channels devoted entirely to reviewing ALDI wine. You're going to do very well with their wine selection and it is unbelievably competitive. And contrast, well, Walmart has its own in-store wine brand as well. You put the two side-by-side, I'm not much of a wine connoisseur, but the average person will tell you that the ALDI's one wins time and time again as the third product you should buy from ALDI's. The fourth group of products, you guys can tell, this is a big budget YouTube channel. I make my own graphics, four. The fourth line of products you should buy at ALDI's, chocolate. If you're unfamiliar, ALDI's has some very proud German roots, for the distributors and owners of the store and the chocolate selection is not only one of the most competitively priced chocolate selections, but the quality is actually unbelievable. I know a lot more about eating chocolate than I do about drinking wine and this is a great chocolate. You'll notice that most of their chocolates have no artificial colors or preservatives. They're very proud of that. And the selection of what's available, what they make and what they stock is second to none. And the fifth group of products that you should always buy at ALDI's, ketchup. Now bear with me for a moment because I did some recent studies and surveys on different pricing. ALDI's signature Burman's Tomato Ketchup, just as an example, was selling for a $1.19 for a 38-ounce bottle, a $1.19 for a 38-ounce bottle, and Walmart was selling a 32-ounce bottle of its own Great Value Ketchup for a buck, 32. Just to put one very low price beside another very low price from two store brands. And this is very similar to the Costco motto, right? Costco's signature Kirkland brand, brings a very high level of quality at a very low price because Costco can control their own brands and also they're not competing with themselves by generally stocking only that brand. And ALDI has a very limited ketchup selection but if you actually look at the reviews, this is a taste test done by The Guardian not too long ago. It's just interesting, just to see what's out there when I am not only going store to store but researching these projects. ALDI won hands down after comparison and comparison to different ketchups. And they're not only standing out in terms of their taste but also their price. So keep that in mind. They did place higher than most brands to which they were compared. So that's one of the great things about the ALDI lines that they control. In the number 6th spot, and speaking of brands that ALDI controls. Their store-refrigerated pizza is not only one of the most delicious and affordable refrigerated pizzas that you can buy, but if you spend a lot of money on takeout pizza, oh, I am telling you, this is a game changer. And there are actually are different websites and blogs. This one is, I believe, from Kitchn, devoted entirely to reviewing and celebrating the different Mama Cozzi pizzas, celebrated and available at ALDI. I also love the Southwest one when that's available. And it is important to note that the ingredients are very fresh and the crust and the dough used on these pizzas is one of the best combinations, if you are a pizza aficionado. And by the way, if anyone out there has actually tried this pizza, as I have, or if you enjoy it regularly, this is something that is, well often sold out on Friday nights at ALDI stores. That's just how popular this pizza is and you would think that if they can do pizza dough well, they could probably do a decent job on bread. And folks, that brings us to the next line of products you should always buy at ALDI and that's bread. ALDI was actually one of the last major grocery store chains to roll out actual bakeries in their stores. And I'm not even discussing the bakeries right now, I'm merely alluding to their bread selection which is fabulous. And there are a couple of things and this was from Delish.com, just as an example. I am not a keto person. But their Zero Net Carb bread is apparently one of the best keto-friendly sliced breads you can buy. People freak out over this, Zero Net Carbs. As you can tell from looking at me, I enjoy my carbs. In fact, I think they go straight to my nose. But I will tell you, the bread selection at ALDI is fresh. If you're not on the health bandwagon and I mean, Instagram is just full of images of this bread that's very popular. I'm going to tell you guys right now that their regular bread, their wholewheat, their white bread, their baguettes, even their, like, tortillas that I've picked up before, just fabulous. But primarily, their bread selection is not only incredibly well priced, very competitive. But it's not one of those things where you need to wait for a weekly special. The deals on bread are available on a regular basis. It's just their regular pricing. That might bring you to the big question of what do ALDI's bread selections look like when they have additional discounts. And if you check your weekly special, just to give you an example in this case, these hot dog and hamburger bun selections, just as an example, are 75 cents each for a pack of four. So I'd say that it's competitive although I did see something very similar at Sam's Club. And then again, if you are looking for their regular bread selection, you don't need to check their weekly offerings. You can find those in-store. In the number eight spot of what I would always buy at ALDI's, decor and house essentials, especially for your bathroom. Wait, what? Did you just tell me to go to a grocery store and buy shower curtains? Why, yes, I did. I don't know if you guys are aware of this but on the ALDI website which they're giving a little bit more real estate to recently. They are celebrating something called ALDI Finds, and these are finds that are similar to a Bed Bath & Beyond. Some of the quality actually very comparable to IKEA. And I'm gonna take you through what I would 100% buy from here. So I just wanna mention, if you do see electronics, they're not of the highest quality. I did test out this $14.99 fan. It was decent. It's not gonna compare to a $60 TaoTronics from Amazon. But assuming you skipped that, and you don't buy this razor grooming set which was just horrendous and there are better deals at Walmart and Target on something comparable right now, you're going to find some incredible deals. For example, the 14-piece, yeah, 14-piece bath rug and shower set? This is $9.99 and you get different pattern. It is just unbelievable what you can get on many of these seasonal finds. Let me just see if I can show you another one right here. The three-wick candle, not bad. And comparable pricing right now, this is at the time I'm uploading this video, this is a dollar less than the dollar store. Just, just try to put that in perspective. They have a cart. Let me see if I can find that for you. Where did the cart go? Okay, here we go. This cart right here at 29.99 is actually higher quality than a comparable product at $34 that I tested from IKEA. And there is one more thing that I wanna show you, guys. These giant Sterilite 64-quart boxes at 6.99. At the time of uploading, this is not only the lowest price in the country but the dollar store couldn't come close to this with one of their comparable inferior brands. I guess that makes no sense. That's redundant. That's contradictory, I mean. Comparable inferior, that makes no sense. One of their comparable brands. One of their comparable products that is an inferior brand. There you go, nailed it. No need to edit that one. So that would be a thing that I would definitely pay attention to, the ALDI Finds. In the number nine spot, I need a drink, beer. I know I talked about wine previously. Wine has nothing to do with the fact that ALDI's got some proud German roots but if you take into account that German beer is not only very much celebrated but they've won all sorts of awards for their beer as well and there are some great beer of the month deals. Please pay attention to that, whether it's one of their brands or another brand. These are great finds for beer drinkers. I would 1000% consider a beer purchase from ALDI and of course German beer, German chocolate, German sausage, yeah. That is actually the final product line that I wanna celebrate at ALDI, although there is something that it is important that you guys know about ALDI. So when it comes to fresh meat, (sighs) it's a bit of hit and miss, because the fresh meat deals at ALDI are great but they're not lower priced than what you would find from Costco or any of the membership wholesale clubs. So if you guys belong to Sam's Club, Costco, BJ's, the meat deals that I'm going to share with you are not gonna excite you as much. And if you do have very aggressive specials from a value grocery store near you, the deli meat is a much better buy than the regular meat. So just to quickly mention, some of the meat at ALDI's are just unbelievable deals. And just to put some of these into perspective, although I realize I'm using a weekly ad. There's different specials every week comparable to what I'm showing you. The organic grass-fed strip steaks at 9.99. That's in contrast to 19.99 right now at Whole Foods, not that you could compare the two. But quality-wise, I would say that both their organic lines can hold their own against each other. The rack of lamb at 9.99, like, that's, that's amazing. There's $1.89 for a fresh family pack of chicken. $1.89 per pound. So these are great deals. But if you actually go beyond that and you look at the brands present within the store and how ALDI operates, the ALDI deli meat is one of the best finds ever. A couple of reasons why. There are no nitrates, there are no antibiotics. There's no additional preservatives used beyond what would be suggested by the USDA. The other thing that's important to keep in mind is they've completely eliminated the middle men. Most ALDI stores do not have a deli section of someone behind a counter, someone slicing meat, and that savings is passed along to the customer. So yes, if you love going to your butcher and you love the experience of watching someone slice and cut meat, and they can control the thickness of the oven-roasted turkey breast, ALDI is not going to be for you. But if you simply want awesome flavor, great meat, and it's all packaged, ready for you to pick up at one of the lowest, most aggressive prices you will ever see, 100% go to the deli section at ALDI and stock up on meat. It is incredible. So that's what I would say about meat. I hope that helps you. I've spent a lot of time at ALDI stores and all sorts of grocery stores. And when I go in, I'm comparing not just the price but the quality and what I take home, and a lot of the findings that I present to you right here are conducted over the course of a year. So I try to be as thorough as I possibly can be. I've moved around. I've been to a lot of zip codes and areas and communities on both sides of the border. So I'm, I'm here to help. All right, I hope you like this content. If you've got additional insights to share. Wow, I'm doing a lot of hand motions. I'm one of those people where when I get excited that happens. I just need to sit on my hands or tie them behind my back. Please leave me a comment, subscribe, turn your notifications on. I wanna thank you guys so much for watching. Your time is valuable. Your money is very valuable to me too. I wanna keep it where it belongs and that is in your pocket. I love you. Thank you. Bye-bye.
