there is something special about watching our little bro wingman plant the spike down watch out here comes Gekko with his menacing creatures or well menacing may be the wrong word to describe these Critters like have you seen wingman waddling over to plant the spike that's one of the cutest things I've ever seen in game though these creatures certainly pack a punch Gekko has a unique set of abilities that when used properly can be deadly to your opponents here are 10 tips that will drastically improve your gecko skills and accelerate your way up the valorant rankings before we get into it this video is just a glimpse of what we can offer you if you want a full detailed guide on how to improve in valorant then you want to check out our website at skillcap.com more on that at the end of the video first up you want to use wingman to clear angles and choke points many players get too hyper focused on using wingman to plant or defuse the spike that certainly is a helpful feature however there are times where information is more important today we were trying to push into the a site without any clue of where the enemies are if we were to just throw wingman out to plant we would have to push site relatively blind afterwards the enemy could have a shotgun close range ready to pounce at you if you use wingman to plant the enemy could simply ignore him and wait for your push and when you do you'll be in a lot of trouble when you don't have site control or information on enemy locations using wingman to scout the area would be more optimal wingman works just like raises boombot he'll bounce off of walls and will Ricochet over at an angle this allows you to clear multiple angles to a point it also allows wingman to maneuver through obstacles to clear a certain area by clearing close angles you can then make a decision on how you want to push the point to simplify your decision making we'll break things down into two points if you're trying to push a sight and don't have any idea of where the enemy is use wingman to clear the sight out if you do have information to work off of then use wingman to plant or diffuse the spike while you focus on taking duels following that up gecko's abilities work very well in combination with each other particularly wingman and dizzy can be used together to really confuse the enemy and lead to easy kills gekko's abilities serve two purposes one is stun or blind the enemy but they're also meant to serve as a distraction during your push take this clip here I mean there are so many tools at their disposal there it is wingman the first The Dizzy from up top and he's so screwed man there's nowhere to go but holy smokes what a shot from Jay-Z we have sawdock retaking the site and there's an astrow wall on the way to identify the enemy's location he sends wingman through the wall to scout the area out he follows up with Dizzy shortly afterwards so that there will be two pieces of utility that appear at the same time towards the enemy the enemy will have a hard time destroying both wingman and dizzy before they get activated thus you're nearly guaranteed for the enemy to get blinded or concussed which will give you an easy kill and that's exactly what happens here sadok pushes through after this combo the enemy is concussed and he gets an easy kill timing is going to be what's important here the easiest way to perform this combo is to bring out wingman first as he starts to approach enemy territory that's when you want to throw dizzy right next to him having the two abilities appear at the same time on the enemy screen is key so that they won't be able to destroy both pieces of utility at the same time either they hit wingman but get blinded by dizzy or they hit dizzy but then get concussed in both scenarios you should have an easy peasy time eliminating the enemy using this combo taking a pause from gekko's Main abilities there are a ton of fancy tricks that you can pull off with gekko's ultimate thrash is already a tanky monster currently rocking 200 Health however if you just run him straight through a choke point he's a relatively easy target to eliminate especially if there's multiple enemies around to make thrash a more slippery Target you can actually Bunny Hop with him this is achieved just like you would a normal Bunny Hop hit your jump key and strafe either to the left or right as you're about to land hit the jump key again and strafe to the opposite direction that you just went rinse and repeat and thrash will be soaring through the map thrash already has a speed boost so adding this bunny hopping will make it much harder to shoot down this buys you more time to cover more area and even stun a player if they completely whiff on thrash here's another trick for you Gekko is most powerful when he's able to use his abilities over and over and being able to use thrash twice is massive for both Gathering info and scaring the enemy away when using this ability you'll want to clear out an area and Save time to run thrash back towards you you'll miss some ground by doing this but it'll be worth it because it gives you good access to pick thrash back up now you'll be able to use your ultimate in 10 seconds [Music] and then comes back so that he can easily pick it back up again nope thrash though only of his orbs that you can only use twice in a round so you use it you pick it up you get 10 seconds and then you get to use it again and you can see as well he's doing that with all of the Disney's and wingmans too making sure that they take the map control so you can instantly pick it up there he goes again gonna cover dizzy or we met excuse me a little friendly help there wig man looking for it in this clip sawdock clears out Tower and then Retreats thrash back to him the team takes tower control and sadak uses thrash again to help clear out the asight thrash lands a stun and helps aspass snag an easy kill on sight although he does get traded by backup thrash is the easiest ability to recall back since you're able to fully control it like Skye's dog it's also the strongest ability Gekko has so being able to use it twice in one round is massive to gaining the upper hand it's important to think about this when using gecko's other abilities as well it won't be as simple to accomplish with them as there will be times where you need to use them at far away angles but when possible you want to throw dizzy and wingman through positions where you can easily pick the abilities back up too we'll get back to those abilities in just a moment but we have one more trick for thrash in most cases you use thrash to run out and gather information however it's also useful for delaying a push if enemy is trying to push out you can place thrash next to the choke point and hold X to stop moving and then you just wait if the enemy decides to push they'll be instantly detained and you and your team can easily eliminate them in most cases the enemy will wait out your ultimate which is also okay because it gives a ton of time for your teammates to rotate over by the time they're able to push your team will be well set up to defend the site some players may decide to back off after being delayed by your thrash alt you likely won't be getting any kills of this technique but it'll buy a time for rotations and will definitely make the enemy second guess whether they want to continue pushing or not this also works out in your favor if the enemy decides not to push you can turn thrash around back towards your body now you can pick him back up and have it ready to be used again later in the round the most likely situation that you do this is as a Defender blocking an attacker push if you're in a vulnerable spot make sure you have a teammate that's watching your back so you don't get caught out while utilizing thrash we haven't talked too much about gekko's Mosh Pit yet if you have Mosh Pit lineups you'll be able to more effectively delay the enemy from defusing the spike if you were a previous killjoy or KO main you're in luck throwing Mosh Pit works the same way as killjoy and KO mollies so if you know those lineups already you can transition them over to Gekko we recommend learning at least one lineup for the main plant spots of every map and site for example here are two lineups you could use for the a side of ascent the first one is for the default plant on generator line yourself up to the side of the bike behind a main the positioning doesn't have to be too perfect here as long as you're standing around the middle of the bike now look up and you'll see the edges of the Satellite Dish On The Ceiling line your Crosshair up with the very edge of the smaller Rod that you can see above from there simply throw Mosh Pit up and voila a sick Mosh Pit onto default that will stop diffusers in their tracks this next one is for double boxes line yourself up with the left container behind a main turn around and you'll see the big building in the sky on a with lightning surrounding it line your Crosshair up with the top right edge of the lightning animation toss that baby up and watch it soar through the skies and onto double boxes one thing to be aware of is that Mosh Pit won't actually do any damage off the rip there is a three second delay before it triggers so take this into account if the enemy is deep into the defuse they may be able to stick it before Mosh Pit activates ideally you want a player with you who can play off Mosh Pit well once Mosh Pit lands the enemy will likely try to move off it that point is a good time for you or your teammate to peek out and challenge that player they'll be distracted by Mosh Pit which will give you a good opportunity to swing out speaking of throwing dizzies let's talk about placement dizzy should always be thrown at a high angle away from your current location this forces the enemy to have to flick over and eliminate dizzy if they don't want to be blinded while they're occupied with that you can peek out and go for the frag if possible you want to throw dizzy in One Direction and peek in a different direction this will make it very difficult for the enemy to destroy it while still having time and the accuracy to flick over to you dizzy is also best when used for teammates your teammates can Peak earlier than you can which will give even less time for the enemy to react if you're stuck between a rock and a hard place throwing dizzy straight up in the air is a good idea as well the enemy will still have to hit a high flick shot to destroy it and then flick back down to kill you the additional Pro to this is that dizzy will fall straight down on you making it easy to pick the critter back up and have it ready to use again moving on let's talk about wingman plans many players don't realize this but you can actually designate exactly where you want to place the plant with wingman aim your mouse towards the site and then drag your mouse forward or back to change the position this works best when you're on a Surface that's elevated from the spike this will make it easier to drag it around and get it in the exact position that you want so make sure to position yourself as such this can be very important for if you do have lineups from Mosh Pit having the spike in the exact spot ensures your lineups will work alright we all love wingman right but some of us aren't portraying enough of that love we give the little man the spike and send him off into the wild on his Lonesome meanwhile we end up occupied Elsewhere on the map it's important to note that wingman gains permanent possession of the spike when used to plant if he is to go down the spike will be dropped where he was eliminated this spot may end up being a very tricky position for you and your team to retrieve back so protect our little man or there may be some Mayhem when sending wingman off to plant the spike watch his back so that he can successfully make it onto the site once he's in there we do want to be a little more baby when wingman is trying to plant the spike most players will try to run over to him to stop it this is a good time for you to swoop in peek and get the kill while they're preoccupied elsewhere with the right timing you'll end up with a free kill and the plan add that along with the fact that you'll still be in your original position which may be a good spot to defend the post plan wingman works hard so we need to make sure we're putting that same amount of effort into guarding him so he can do his thing last but not least when playing Gekko you want to be reactionary with his abilities this means waiting for information to come to you prior to you using your ability for example maybe the enemy is going for an ultimate orb you hear the audio cue that this is happening in this situation you could push out after throwing dizzy the enemy now has to let go of orb shoot dizzy down and only then is he able to take a duel with you unless they have backup chances are they won't be able to do all this before you gun them down a similar example is if you hear the enemy pushing towards you as they get pretty close you can toss dizzy out and peek off it for another easy frag if you're on level ground you could also combo wingman and dizzy together like like we mentioned earlier in today's video These two menaces along with you peaking are surely to grab a kill when making reactionary plays you'll want the enemy to be relatively close by before you make your move that way they'll have to make bigger flicks between you and your utility that being said you don't want them to be right in your face before you use abilities if you throw your utility far away or too early where you can't effectively follow up with it then the enemy could just destroy them and quickly move over to you that's all we have for today's video we hope this gave you a wide variety of ideas on how you want to
