disney's theme parks are known as the places where dreams come to life from princess's castle to jaw-dropping rollercoaster rides a day at one of these parks can surely change someone's life forever unfortunately this hasn't been the case for everyone some people made visits to a disney park just to find an awful fate today's video we'll be looking at 10 disney rides that have killed people yes you heard that right there are actually 10 attractions in these parks that have been responsible for the passing of innocent lives of course the punk authorities didn't see this coming but this video shows that even the happiest place on earth can easily turn nightmares into reality can you guess what's the right at the top of the list well there's only one way to find out number 10 sailing ship columbia christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays at disney even though most of these parks are in mostly sunny destinations the staff makes sure that you can experience a winter wonderland at this time of year some people go as far as visiting the parks right at the peak of the season and that includes visits during christmas eve that's exactly the day that luanne fee dawson chose to visit when a large meadow cleat came off from the sailing ship columbia ride during the 1998 celebrations at disneyland the metal piece fell on the man's head and its weight was more than enough to leave him brain dead and ultimately died two days after the incident just like in most of the cases on this list the family of the victim took legal action and got 25 million dollars from the park but i guess no amount of money is enough to cover the loss of a loved one especially during a time like christmas number nine rockin roller coaster now before you get on these intense rides you're always warned to check your health conditions after a lot of these rides can cause serious damage to your health if you're not ready for the experience however some people sometimes aren't even aware of their own health conditions and can't even assess whether it's a good idea to get on the ride or find something else to do in june of 2006 a 12 year old from kentucky was visiting disney's hollywood studios and decided to ride on the rock and roller coaster but sadly once the ride was over people came to find the boy unconscious on his seat he had to be rushed to the hospital but he died before he could even get medical attention after running an investigation they came to find out that the boy had an undiagnosed heart condition for that reason his body could not take the intensity of the ride it's always good to have a medical checkup especially if you love roller coasters while all the rides really do seem fun not all of us are ready for all of them and that's totally fine there's so much more that we can do at these parks number eight the monorail track the next attraction on this list is not only uses a way to entertain people but also to transport them that would be disney's monorail track which was actually the first monorail system in the western hemisphere and even though it looks harmless it was also the cause of a terrible incident it all happened in 1966 when a 19 year old guy tried to sneak into grand night which is disney's annual celebration for students who have just graduated from high school apparently this guy was not invited to the party but he still wanted to sneak in a security guard spotted him and tried to stomp him but this guy was very persistent but in order to get to the party while breaking in the guy had to cross the monorail track and sadly when he was doing that he did notice that the train was already approaching after that it was too late for the guy to get out and ended up getting hit by the train and ultimately lost his life number seven people mover similar to the monorail incident the people mover also became the scenario of an unfortunate event and just like the monorail the people mover is also a transportation attraction which means that it was used to move people around at tomorrowland and disneyland in 1967 a 17 year old guy thought it would be a good idea to move cars while the ride was in motion this caused him to stumble fall into the tracks and get dragged hundreds of feet away and this same situation happened again in 1980 to a high school student during one of those grad nights that i mentioned earlier he was trying to jump between cars of the ride into the super speed tunnel jeez sounds like those grad nights have been pretty eventful the night that was meant to be a celebration of the end of high school turned into the last night of someone's life the lesson that we can get from this is to always listen when we're told to remain on our assigned rides it's such a simple instruction but doing it can keep us from suffering accidents like the ones that happen on this ride number six afloat in the parade even the cheerful disney parades can be quite deadly and even the park workers can become victims of these awful events in 2004 during the share a dream come true parade a cast member dressed up as pluto and was about to go into frontierland when the foot of his costume got stuck in the float of the beauty and the beast some reason the float couldn't quickly come to a full stop and when it did the guy in the costume had already been struck and killed disneyland got fined by the occupational safety and health administration and i bet a lot of cast members had second thoughts about joining future parades there are so many disney characters that it's obvious that this awful accident could have happened to any of them i wonder how long it took for people to notice that pluto was missing from the parade though number five cinderella's castle and here is another attraction that looks pretty harmless but it was already the scenario of a deadly visit this one happened in 1977 when a four-year-old boy climbed the fence that surrounds the mouth around the famous cinderella's castle what this kid didn't know is that the ditch of water was at least five feet deep which was more than enough for the poor kid to drown in this immediately turned into a lawsuit by the boy's mom claiming that the height of the fence was not reasonable compared to the risk that was on the other side years later the judge overseeing the case decided that it was indeed the mom's fault for not watching her kid since he was so young he was not supposed to be climbing up fences without an adult supervision finally a year after the decision both disney and the mom were equally blamed for the incident and the mom finally stepped away with a 1.5 million dollar compensation again that's a lot of money but there's never an amount big enough to bring someone back to life so make sure you watch the little kids that come into the park with you you never know where they can get in trouble number four tom sawyer's island oh look another story about an unsupervised miner what a shock well it was a 10 year old boy who was with his 18 year old brother but the older one didn't seem so responsible in june of 1973 the two guys thought it would be fun to stay in tom sawyer's island after closing hours once they were done doing their thing they decided to swim back by going through the rivers of america which is a very wide and deep bonding water it seems like the boys didn't think things through because the younger boy was a poor swimmer the older kid had to carry his younger brother but he ended up drowning halfway through the journey the young one finally made it to the shore thanks to his dog paddling abilities about 10 years later on another one of those grad nights a guy thought it would be fun to steal one of the rubber boats from the island he got on it and the thing flipped while he was on the river he ended up drowning because of course there was nobody watching number three matterhorn bomb sleds the matterhorn bombs led to some of the older attractions at disney and they're also known to be the first ride to cause a deadly accident in the history of disney theme parks and happened in the summer of 1964 when a 15 year old boy stood up and got thrown from the top of the ride he ended up landing on a ledge which fractured his ribs and skull three days later the boy passed away twenty years later a second death occurred this one happened to a girl whose seatbelt wasn't fastened she got thrown from her car and got struck by the next one but there was no one else with her on the ride which makes it hard to determine whether she had a faulty seat belt or if she unbuckled it on purpose now it's time for today's best pick [Music] the photo i chose for today shows one of the craziest incidents that have happened at a disney park and this one is relatively recent compared to the other ones we've actually talked about let's check it out with number two big thunder mountain railroad the big thunder mountain railroad is one of the most famous rides in disney you can find it in different parks around the world in the area called frontierland in 2003 one of these roller coasters got derailed and caused 10 of the riders to get injured but unfortunately another passenger got hurt so badly that he lost his life right after the impact the family of the victim got a settlement from disney and the park took the blame for the accident they did admit that their rhyme lacked proper maintenance and regular safety checks in 2011 other incidents were reported in the paris version of this ride and one of them a piece of the scenery fell on a passing train and hurt five riders the other one two guards got derailed and two people got minor injuries luckily nobody did die in the incidents but it forced the parks to be more happen to someone is to get stuck in a place that is threatening their life and that's exactly what happened to a 31 year old woman at space mountain in 1979 after going through the intense and dark roller coaster she came out of it feeling a little bit sick so sivichi couldn't even get out of her seat while some staff members were looking for help other workers were not aware of the situation and sent the woman on the ride for a second round along with a new batch of passengers the second trip sent her into a coma and a week later the woman passed away of course this led to a lawsuit but it had to be dismissed because it was determined that her death came as a result of a tumor that was moving from her heart to her brain if there's something we can get out of these stories it's to always be aware of our health prior to getting on these rides and of course always listen to instructions especially if you're visiting the park during grand night it seems like things often get out
