today i'm going to mansplain to you the mini sorceries of elden ring the newest patch did change quite a lot so i guess now is as good a time as any to share some advice on how insane and overpowered these new spells are i mean what is this easy mode use code rusty to get 15 off on this absolutely game-breaking hat that you can add to your insanely broken build this hat will make you literally god okay let's just start moonblade can multi-head on large enemies that don't move around a lot meaning it can sometimes proc frostbite in a single use strong versus dragons giants and anything that's exceptionally poor at hauling ass if you're super close to an agile enemy it'll still likely hit them even if they try to dodge it really good against big dudes with big shields this one has piss damage early game but it's extremely good at tracking and breaking down poise this can keep enemies away from you while you heal but it also keeps them still if you're not done bullying them yet it doesn't take a lot of stamina to cast meaning you can easily combo it up with other spells without getting fatigued and leaving yourself vulnerable just find something else the damage is nowhere near enough to be effective and the fact that it drains your hp upon use just makes it worse on all accounts unless you're also using briars of sin the casting time is significantly decreased when used in tandem with punishment and using the staff of the guilty empowers both of these even further punishment does have range but you want to be close to the enemy for both sorceries to take advantage of sins casting time the new patch also gave it more blood build up so now is as good a time to use these as any you know how a cannon works aim it at something and watch said thing die congratulations you now know how to use cannon of hema i mean you're obviously better off using moonblade but the qarion greatsword still has pretty amazing damage for early to mid game builds instead of going after big dudes use it on swarms of smaller mobs or faster enemies that are vulnerable to being staggered or just hit [ __ ] through walls you can you can do that too glint blade spells are extremely useful against agile enemies that are constantly dodging or giving chase you can time another spell or melee attack with when the blades launch to stack on some extra damage the carrion piercer deals moderately okay damage at best but it stuns pretty much anything it hits so use it to interrupt npc enemies out of combos or to trip up the rhythm of a particular undefeated female swordstress chilling out in a tree i know this shit's glitched in pvp but i couldn't score an invader kill if they wrapped themselves in a bow and suffocated to death under my desk putting the ash of war variant on a shield actually gives you a shitload of parry frames more so than any regular unaltered shield i think like 14 and it works on medium shields too i'm just putting this here so those chasing after dedicated intelligence builds know they can still be a knight if they so choose it's got incredible damage if you score more than a few hits with it and that's definitely what it was designed for because it doesn't deflect off walls like a normal sword would so as long as whatever you're hitting keeps getting stunned you can just spam this as much as you want pair this with a wingsword talisman for extra nastiness collapsing stars is an incredibly versatile spell it controls enemy positioning and it can even stun horseback enemies if they try to disengage but you can also pull annoying ranged enemies off of their high ground or just off a random cliff to their deaths it has synergy with tons of different spells so you're gonna see me using this a lot in the rest of the video combine it with cerulean hidden tier and anime your foes to death enough said the crystal barrage and for that matter any sorcery that involves a tinge of bullet health will likely have underwhelming returns in the early game this sorcery shines versus anything slow enough to not turn around by the time you've emptied your whole fp bar into its [ __ ] but if you want to use this against a faster enemy you can make that opening yourself with rancor and gravity spells crystal burst is ass it's like a shotgun that tries to fire in a cone but can only cover certain parts of the cone and all the pellets forget what they're supposed to be doing after they've traveled like six feet but if an enemy with a long recovery time misses an attack you can point blank blast their face full and stagger them pretty reliably crystal release is not an ideal spell if you want consistency it covers more ground when you're elevated so using the spell on horseback or aiming downwards can increase its utility but only slightly the long wind-up makes you pretty vulnerable so you need to cast it with a bit of foresight but if you can manage to get a big dude right underneath it watching them get shredded is pretty fun eternal darkness isn't really that useful unless it's pretty much right next to you but that does make it extremely useful in areas with limited space versus ranged sorcery their spam will get sucked up by the big scary vacuum spell leaving you free to counter with some magic spam of your own super difficult to use just because it leaves you wide open for a [ __ ] hour after you cast it but it still has its uses if you break an enemy's posture you'll probably do more damage with this than you will going for a critical it deals some pretty massive damage so make sure this spell is at the end of your combo because recovery time doesn't matter if there's nothing around to kill you fia's mist almost exclusively works in pvp with the exception of npc invaders so just don't use it otherwise spout some mophie is mist and then use gravity spells to pull some idiots into it founding rain honestly has high damage if you can actually get it to land where you want it cast this spell first to give it some time to wind up and then start pulling enemies towards you with the gravitas ash of war or keep them staggered with a rancor spell if you see a crucible knight about to jump into the air cast this preemptively and then just let him fly into the damage freezing mist is only ever useful when you need something to get frostbite right now this spell is honestly a winner against demigods it's kind of surprising how many shard bearer bosses are weak to frostbite frozen armament freezes your armament you can also slap it on a nuji katana to take advantage of both frostbite and bleed if you feel like being a piece of [ __ ] the gobble of hema is first and foremost a posture buster if an npc enemy is running at you you can pretty easily time the spell to hit right when they're in your face the cast time is much quicker thanks to the new patch but you can still use glint blades to stun them and line them up for a good bunk i can aptly describe gel mirrors fury as hot garbage it's like if throwing a tantrum was a spell thankfully the recent damage and hitbox buffs make it somewhat usable it's actually a half decent zoning spell now so you can go after enemies with a cold affinity weapon and then spray some magma to reset the frostbite and keep rocking lens stone arc travels through enemies so if you have an angry horde of trash mobs closing in on you or i guess you need to mow the lawn or something then this spell should be a go-to my favorite thing to do is just aggro 10 people at once and then run away and get them all chasing in convenience single file line and then just fire some marks right down the road all the damage of a comet shard and all the frost buildup of a moonblade this sorcery kicks ass if the projectile can actually make it all the way to its goddamn desta [ __ ] nation the range on the ice crag is pretty mediocre so get like three steps closer to an enemy than you normally would before casting it or you just bring the party to you with the power of gravity lent stone spells are the most straightforward spells in the game they're projectile attacks that are great for enemies that leave themselves out of melee range and if an enemy doesn't see you your first attack will hit for a little extra damage so aggro an enemy with a charged up comet shard to sink in as much early damage as you can you're never completely immobile when casting these either so you can use that to your benefit godfrey's icon makes this spell an absolute powerhouse of damage if you charge it also really difficult to dodge all the projectiles completely making it useful in pvp and against npc enemies gravity well has lots of versatility considering its generous fp usage and decent damage you can cc mobs off cliffs into other attacks and just pull enemies towards all kinds of hazards if you're in pvp you can delay the spell by charging it slightly but not to max to throw off your invader's dodge timing for the fp it consumes the damage on this is almost just unfair honestly it hovers around for quite a while so you can play aggressively by luring enemies into it or go the rogue option and stand far out from a target with on on-voice crown watch it off and then use the down time to change stabs and equipment take a break eat some lunch call your family or something who gives a [ __ ] look at all the time you have the great bow can also be charged slightly in pvp duels to throw off the timing of your opponent it's best to go rogue with this spell because it's more than capable of hitting enemies well out of aggro range before they even see you for extra damage arm yourself with damage ups like loose at staff grave and mass magic shrouding tier and godfrey icon and as long as you don't fire half your [ __ ] into the floor you can pretty much delete anything you're aiming at it's kind of like crystal hale from dark souls 3 but like 10 times better super useful against large enemies with hitboxes that can't possibly dodge all the spam and slightly less useful albeit still strong against smaller enemies if you cast it in a closed space good against shields that's about it magma spells can actually nullify frostbite on an enemy which allows you to proc frostbite again for another massive burst of damage this one's also really effective against hand enemies because you can just dump it on the ground and watch them run into it trying to get to you meteorite is the giant crusher to comet azer's moon veil and i think that should make sense to anyone that like using these spells meteorite can be held down very similarly to comet azer and sometimes it can even rival the damage if you're casting it under a dragon's nut sack the initial bullet also spawns pretty high above you so hey guess what that means you get to have fun hitting [ __ ] through ceilings and since my balls are feeling exceptionally swollen today hi fromsoft if we try to [ __ ] around with some hitboxes in 0.05 maybe fix waves of darkness first staff of laos nightmaiden's mist might be one of my favorite spells in the game and i feel a little weird saying that about a cloud you can pull enemies into it with gravity like other mist sorceries but it can also damage ranala during her first phase when she's up in the air i shouldn't have said that because that shit's gonna get patched now it's straight up area denial in pvp and it can chew through crucible night armor like nobody's business unfortunately it doesn't benefit from the godfrey icon so you'll be wasting a talisman slot if you decide to use it why the [ __ ] would anyone ever use this rancor call is the smaller off-brand bootlegged variant of the ancient death rancor a lot of people may see the piss damage and just assume it's bad but it actually scales nicely with intelligence in the late game it follows around whoever you shoot at it for quite a while so use it to apply pressure to enemies or to keep the pressure off yourself during certain duo fights this is the best spell to open with against bosses that begin the fight by walking slowly over to you from the other side of the room full moon and darkmoon both lower the magic defense of whoever it hits but it can also proc frostbite which lowers defense even more attacks with no verticality like the crucible knight's tail swipe you can actually avoid during its charge for pure casting builds use the spell on downed or staggered enemies instead of going for a critical and you'll probably get much more damage out of it also as always any spell that takes larger than two seconds to charge up will inevitably pair nicely with rancor spells so check that out too great against anything that's big it's got damage it breaks poise it doesn't cost a shitload of fp just don't stand too close or the two rocks on the side will just glide past whatever you're aiming at begin the fight with this spell against tree spirits and urge free avatars if they're unaware of you they'll just spend a couple seconds sitting in hot lava you can also dump it on the floor and then use an ash like gravitas to pull smaller enemies into the blast radius against larger targets the bullet just kind of hovers around them meaning they're more likely to get hit with a majority of the attack but you can also just send this through a bunch of weaker mobs and they'll all die pretty quickly buffs like this are massive during the early game when you don't have any upgraded weapons the demi human staff has the lowest intelligence requirement of all the stavs so pick it up and start milking this spell for all it's worth increases magic negation obviously but you also get a nice guard boost out of it giving it a little more utility than just countering magic spam anything that's even remotely large this thing just travels right through and is a pretty slow projectile so that means a shitload of damage my tip for the spell is to simply just don't sleep on it it's not gonna look impressive until you send five of these through a dragon's body and just watch the numbers roll up hey another shotgun spell we can add to the pile pretty good roll catcher in pvp too because you can delay it slightly by charging and the projectiles kind of scatter everywhere so it's hard to know exactly when to time a dodge jesus christ 6 projectiles good luck dodging all this [ __ ] all the star spells look exactly the same so in pvp it's almost impossible to tell whether you're firing three or six or twelve aiming it at a dragon's head seems to piss it off so do that this thing goes out after like 60 seconds just use a torch [ __ ] sake terra magicka doesn't buff all sorceries despite what it implies some sorceries like magma shot or rock sling only deal fire and physical damage respectively and terra magica only gives the boost to specifically magic damage you can still use it with glintstone spells the great bow or even some carrion stuff if you get someone to stand in the sigil with you way too long of a cast time to be a consistently good parry lore wise this spell is a miracle practice wise just just use carry in retaliation the new buff couldn't save this one i'm i'm sorry okay hear me out this spell actually isn't terrible and i'm not just saying that because it got buffed hitting things with it just takes a bit of setup slow moving spells like great bubble or rancor almost always stun whatever it hits time the summons cast to hit right after the first spell and hey look at least you hit something look man just get the roses acts instead death mage builds are way too cool in this game to be ruined by one spell cannot be used on unique or elemental weapons so pretty close to useless it's a niche spell that only really sees use in pvp but you can fool people into thinking you're a pure caster by wearing a robe and keeping distance with spells and whatnot and then just run up to them and one tap them with a giant invisible hammer this is really useful in that one section in ordina where the albanoric archers won't leave you the [ __ ] alone you do still make sound though so you can't just walk by [ __ ] and expect not to be noticed but it is a great tool to prevent aggro from ranged enemies with super long sight lines this sorcery builds up frostbite really really fast it lingers for a few seconds and it has a super low fp cost so don't be afraid to zone some [ __ ] with a few of these at a time if you really want to be an [ __ ] dump some magma near enemies to reset the frostbite so you can just cast another ice storm and keep giving them frostbite again oh oh is is that it okay cool maybe i'll do a proper outro one day but not today
