#1 Brand New Sprayer!!!! Unverferth TA2400

good morning everybody great to be back at work great to see you guys here it is the first video of spring planting anyways i so believe it will be you never know how the day goes but it is time to get the fertilizer truck up and running today i just seen the driver pulling up and we are gonna be hard at it it's gonna be a busy day i really don't know what's gonna all be in this video but keep watching because it should be pretty exciting [Music] [Applause] so all starts with turning the heater valves on because we're going to plant corn when when it's 40 degrees outside i hear eric and weston pulling up steve's here to drive this thing so we always turn the uh heater valves off when it's warm out of course so that we don't cook the drivers out but now that it's cold mornings again we got to uh turn these all back on it's best to do it when the engine hasn't been ran because it gets to be very hot when you get to turn this valve on right behind the exhaust system all right we got things squared away with steve he knows where he's going heater valves are open you guys are maybe wondering why it looks like i just got up it's actually because i stayed night at the farm last night for the first time in the bunk house and the reason i'm doing that is because nicole's immune system is down right now due to her battle with cancer if you guys haven't been up to date on that or are curious on that i'll put the link in the description below to her caring bridge but long story short we've literally witnessed a miracle i don't know what that means for the future but for right now things are steady but and since i have to work i mean it's go time i'm just staying at the farm to minimize exposure to anything really that's what's going on thank you for your thoughts and prayers and let's get to it hello hello what's going on oh it's starting i think except it's so cold out that everything is frozen it's perfect time to put corn in the ground in minnesota right better get grandma starting to sew up them little coats for the kernels oh yeah fertilizer just left the yard about a half hour ago they should be going they don't have much to do today because we don't want to get too ahead of the diggers because like i said we're not gonna probably be going too crazy at it we're just wanting to test fire everything make sure planter works might just do 80 acres and don't know if we will get to it today but that that's the goal that's the end goal randy's going to get some 10 34-0 onto the seed tender trailer and we got seed loaded last night so hopefully that'll be up and running ready to rock and roll i have to get the cat tractor going now or try to we'll see if it wants to talk normally uh doesn't like the cold the best worse yet it's been sitting all winter so we'll see if it's dead any comment below if you think this will be dead that's a good surprise i like when she fired right up that's pretty good i'm glad we replaced the batteries last fall because no one likes dead batteries all right so i am calibrating the tcm right now which is the globe to basically tell it where it's sitting on the tractor i believe is the uh reason for that if i can find the page setup calibration so basically what you do is you sit and pick a spot that's nice and level hit this button i've already been outside and i marked where the axle is at the steering handle which in this case it's a two track so it's the rear axle now i go i turn the tractor around and i hit the same button in the same position only facing the other direction and it offsets and does whatever it does got to do that every time you take the globe off of the tractor [Music] i always use the corner of the cement slab there as a good reference point it's where i do all of the tcm calibrations first try [Music] that's the first time this year that that's happened first try get it perfect calibrating i just got a phone call from kibble they're on their way with our new toy so i'm pretty disappointed because we ordered new tracks for this tractor and i mean i don't know if you can tell in the camera how shot these really are but i mean they're not even as deep as my finger is thick but due to covid and everything being backed up and back ordered not getting them yet they're ordered but they're not here so hopefully for spray season they'll be here let's hope pretty disappointing i hope it don't get wet or we'll have the yank and ropes out again the longer i'm outside the more i'm questioning why we'd even consider putting corn in the ground right now when it's 27 degrees outside going to town cleaning the box out hey what the devil gosh are you gonna wreck something it's froze it's frozen all froze and you're gonna put corn in the ground no no against my uh better judgment you keep an eye on that so i don't hook that plastic you had to do it into the sun i can't yeah i can't believe it neither [Music] so he's been talking about doing this for a while we need the truck to pull the bobcat around for rock picking because this is what we pulled a pintle hitch trailer with so that the service truck is available for pulling seat tender or whatever he wants to get the dirt out of there so that if we want to haul a scramble with it marina bunch of clay and mud up in there but the frost is making this more difficult than it should be campbell just left milbank with our new toy if it only was a toy everything's a toy whatever look at expensive boy i've ever had them you know what i'm saying i'm trying to focus here get that tail out of my face my fingers are going numb no comment how many of you guys have seen a clutch break on a button that's what if you're ever seeing us in dumpy here and we're doing this here number that's us using the clutch brake only truck we've ever seen with that and they're here eric's going to be so pumped about this welcome back well hi how's it going pretty good you're making here okay you're back sweet got your i'm excited about this right this is gonna be fun that looks pretty interesting yeah it's gonna be uh like a 10 to 12 year difference from what ours is right uh there's parts to put on yet can't make it that simple [Music] this is gonna be exciting for all you that think we bought this no this is an extended demo we get to use this for the season and see what we think of it pretty excited gonna be very interesting and exciting to see the improvements that they've done obviously the first thing you notice is the tracks are totally different so the rep is gonna be coming out here this afternoon to get her set up and hooked up and test fired hopefully you're gonna bring a tractor out that matches well you'll have to talk to somebody higher than me i'm just a delivery driver there you go what do you think he's got a great paint yeah you know why that is because they got sick of yellow they uh they're not a yellow color i was told uh too expensive john deere gets upset when there's too much green and yellow so they went to just one color tank oh so then the gray ones on the red ones too yeah that's brilliant here too it's for them brilliant oh yeah hook it up and let's go it's ready right we get to uh put water in it today and got the garden always hooked up yeah we're gonna put the garden nose in there it's too cold to get our water containment system contaminated just gonna use a garbage duo and yeah h2o this thing is obviously brand new never had a gallon in it or ran through it so we got some setup work to do [Music] buttons [Music] [Music] all right [Music] oh that ride's pretty smooth contours very well to them ramps is that the first one of those that you called so far yeah this goes like the uh grain cart demo you might be hauling i used one back well nothing wrong with that yeah well thanks to kibble equipment for bringing it out here setting it up also it's they are the servicing dealer for unber firth and that's who makes top air sprayers so thank you cable equipment warm in here wow alrighty so visually looking back it pretty much looks like the same exact thing as what we have other than the tracks obviously are a lot different so i'm pretty excited for eric eric is our rep he is going to be coming out what's up with all the air slightly they're invading my life so many airs but i'm going to get the garden hose going into this thing so that when he gets here we can actually work with it all right hoses in you know the minute i pull this lever it's no longer new filling her up five gallons per minute should take a little while to get to maybe this mark oh god we got our first leak oh the valve ain't closed so the sprayer's been on the yard for about an hour and i've already redone some stuff so what was on the bottom of this site gauge here was this here fitting nothing wrong with it i just feel better having a valve on the bottom of this in case something happens to this uh also more importantly when we switch chemical products we like to run clean water through there and rinse it out so i like to have a quick coupler there but you do have to zip tie it so it don't come undone that i seen right away because i obviously we own two of these sprayers we use that all the time that's a must-have for us so that's what we did i'm referred you want your parts back [Music] first unfold we got the harness in we got the the hydraulics hooked up what else did we do so we got to do now is we got to get the weight touchdown wing wheels into the right area because they're just on there temporary right now we gotta move them to the right height and a different part of the boom so eric the rap over there is on the phone again i give him crap about that but he was telling me that this boom design is pretty much the same design they've had since 2008 so they've got got it dialed in it's been great we really have not had any problem with our booms on our top air sprayers the only problem that we did have was dad hit a tree invented you'll have that on the bigger jobs but we got a lot more learning to do here about this thing he must not have his hydraulics set right all right there we go hydraulics turned off so this here wheel needs to be moved out here farther more like in this area i believe the one thing that eric said that they changed about the boom was they added this here gusseted in because people like eric fold and drive and they had some cracking here in our model so they improved that pretty much the only difference that they've changed all right what are we doing we got some really exciting features on this thing isn't it yeah so it's got an app it has an app this is for the technically advanced people now can't spray if you don't have a smartphone [Music] uh this is just a nice little feature so in the past that box you could take out of the tractor uh it wasn't that box it was the older version like what we were used to you could take it outside and turn each section on and off walk and check your nozzles now it's done the bluetooth to the sprayer with your phone and your app there's the if it's not glaring there is the sections 10 sections on here so we got the middle sections are 15 foot and the outside two are a ten foot and a five foot so that are the increments it turns on and turns off on to minimize overlap and cost of chemicals yeah so all you do is go into your raven rate controller and check a box giving permission for your phone to control it download the app and search it via bluetooth and now i'm locked into our sprayer and we can walk back there and test each nozzle let's do it we gotta hurry up and uh get this done because doggo's loading up the planter 32 degrees outside and he's loading the planter up to go planting we got to put the camera on him at least he hates the camera yeah you know so we got under it huh no he he's trying to get out of here without being nervous oh yeah we got to show the bosses that he does actually work i do show up oh no we're having a good time here oh got it wrapped up we're figuring it out that should be ready to rock we were gonna show them the section via the phone but i think you forgot to turn the pump on so yeah it's hard to make water flow without the pump on like i will say again this is a demo from under first kibble equipment is the dealer that is supporting it if we have any issues with it they will be the guys we call push the button there and turn on the end section which is five feet so you press number ten right sides number ten i think we got a plug nozzle no nozzles on there let's see the other feature you can start on one side it'll go for 30 seconds or you can just arrow over and work your way down so that's a long way why'd you start on that side well zoom in here i'll get it down to us air over yeah see now that's gonna be really nice when we're by ourselves if we're by ourselves needing to check nozzles and stuff do you mind still helping me rinse this thing out i don't want to do that then you can even do the worst job ever doing that what i can turn the pump on and off we should actually have eric explain this pump the pump's interesting the pwm pwm pump so what does it do it is variable speed so instead of a butterfly valve in the back controlling the flow your rate it actually speeds the pump up and slows the pump down this has the big ace pump on it i believe biggest pump they put on them 150 gallons a minute it will put out roughly i don't know what that correlates to correlates to acres i'm not sure but well you could do 15 acres a minute at 10 acres at 10 gallons an acre 15 acres a minute that's that's pretty fast i think sounds fast oh yeah another awesome future is the equalizer tracks they oscillate not only they're kind of they're just like the grain cart they oscillate this way and also this way and what's even cooler is with the what you call the triangle tracks like ours are before they like to plow into the other side of a ditch if it was wet or maybe a nose dive a little bit these two wheels are oscillate together and these two oscillate together so it actually will cuff the ditch as it goes through and it will ride really nice i've been told they pull a lot easier so i'm i'm looking forward to testing out that because i really like it there eric said that these are actually the same tracks as the triangle tracks they're just flat and longer that's a nice feature so that's just a a few of them for today i'm sure we'll see a lot more of this thing this season here's something i'm excited about so what we always had a problem with with our old one was the tanks are so big that if you were on a side hill or not sitting perfectly level loading you could be off a couple hundred gallons so we always had a level up here not anymore it's got a flow meter so we know exactly how many gallons we're putting in i'm excited for that i'm actually thinking about seeing if i can add that to my sprayer hey dad something's wrong with it you made it this this one's straight look at how look at how straight this boom is hey let's talk about what happened the last time we had a brand new sprayer on this yard it made it through pre-emerge with me as a 14 year old driving it i did all the acres dad goes through his first field go ahead eric lift this up and whack him on the head he goes to the first field and whales it into a tree and curls the boom back yep so our brand new sprayer from day one at event hair see eric yeah he's okay step under there just a little bit back down don't ever stand under the booms guys it's a bad idea well at three i actually seen the tree growing i've come to the headland and that tree was little and i got half done through my turn look back the tree grew to be 20 feet tall with a six inch diameter the fastest growing tree i've ever seen and then that's the truth and then what happened the excavator met the tree well i yeah we fixed that problem that tree is no longer with us and my boom is just fine but it did severe it did it did suffer a uh severe blow little tweak when when i got back to the farm and seen the loader pushed against one there was a couple of loaders and another loader on the other side trying to bend it back straight yeah that was a bad deal it works good yeah truly mesmerizing why is it so cold okay let's go i'm excited we're going planting let's go we're going planting we're going to do a couple of rounds to make sure it works i'm going to have to put car hearts i gotta go get the snowmobile helmet and my big mittens on i just wanna give a huge shout out once again to uh under firth and uh letting us have this opportunity to run it and to you guys for watching to get it to come out here i mean that this is so exciting and i don't think it's a secret that we love our top air sprayers and i'm really excited to see what this new one's all about but i don't get to run it really this spring it'll all be eric he's a seat hog you know never gets out got a girder in so she don't freeze because now it's got water in it so just for the people that are avid and full believers in self-propelled sprayers oh a couple guys were talking again today why they are they are just fascinating it's so amazing to me how much they love their self-propelled sprayers when i love my pull type sprayer so much i thought it was my full-time spur all of our it's ours it's the great thing about having it hours you get to pay for some of it too why do we like our pull type sprayers quick easy answers capacity capacity number one ride one less engine there is no engine to it so we can use a tractor that we can use at other parts of the year yep cost huge difference in cost right absolutely they look better well i look better in them you look better uh you don't get irrigator tracks in your field when it rains uh when you drive across it with this like you do with a you know the self-propelled or pizza cutting tires i don't want to bash they have their place yeah they do but for our for our farm unless somebody's got something newer maybe they make one with tracks so like like dad said there uh what works for our operation might not work for yours but if you're looking for a different sprayer i'd definitely look into the uh the pull type works really good for us all right guys that's the end of this
