Jason how are we building a gaming PC for $510 in 2023 almost 2024 right and how is it beating the consoles which yes have gotten price Cuts but remember you're not going to be able to upgrade those consoles they're basically set in stone once they come out they begin to Decay and Decay and Decay and you can actually upgrade this gaming PC on down the line for the future first I do want to talk about the mythical $500 gaming PC because I know that number is stuck in a lot of people's head as some kind of Milestone the last time we really focused in on that was before the GPU shortage probably 2019 but what is $500 in 2019 worth today it's worth almost $600 $ that's because of inflation so really if you're comparing gaming PCs in terms of real dollars a $500 gaming PC in 2019 would be almost a $600 gaming PC today and for $500 today we're going to give you insanely more performance insanely more performance let's start off with the GPU now I'm going to give you a couple of different options to hit that $ 500ish price point the first one is the arc a580 is going for $1 169 right now and it comes with Assassin's Creed Mirage even if you're not like super excited about that game you get a free game with it it's a $169 and we'll go over the performance of it in just a moment in terms of its usability of course Arc is getting much better much improved over where it was but I will say Still Still you will probably have to Tinker with some settings in some games but if you're open to doing that because you want to save some money this is a really good option and it performs pretty well of course the other option is our favorite the RX 6600 Radeon 8 GB GPU very very powerful just as powerful in fact slightly more powerful probably than those consoles are than the consoles are and you're going to be able to pull this out in the future and drop a new GPU into it right now you can pick these up for 9ish they had gotten down to like 179 during Black Friday but only it's only about a $20 difference and you will not ever have to really worry about drivers AMD is going to make sure you have a day one driver update now let's talk about the performance of these gpus this is Tom's Hardware uh this is the a580 review I'll leave it link down in the video description this is 1080p Ultra and we'll also look at 1080p on medium settings which you're going to want to run some of those games on medium settings and others on Ultra but if you do run everything at Ultra here The RK 58064 average FPS across their nine game test suite and the RX 6600 64.6 so you're definitely getting more than 60 FPS this includes pretty hard to run titles of course if we flip it over to medium settings and of course High's in the middle somewhere there so I would probably recommend high for most games but just taking a look at medium if we go all the way there 101 average FPS for the arc a580 113 average FP PS for the RX 6600 so no slouch whatsoever let's punch through the rest of the bill and in previous months we've gone with the ryzen 5500 right now kind of stole out everywhere but let's go with the equally good equally good for gaming i31 1200f I really do like this CPU $92 is so insane that we can be buying gaming CPUs right now for this price four cores eight threads and they're very strong cores and threads these are modern cores and threads don't worry about four cores eight threads because we will be able to given the motherboard we're going to buy upgrade this in the future when we need to of course it comes with included stock cooler which we are absolutely going to use and is absolutely fine I would not spend any additional money on more cooling for this thing I really do like the stock cooler for the motherboard we are going to go with a phenomenal value absolutely phenomenal value this is the azrock b660 m Pro RS now it doesn't have bios flashback so just make sure you only do 12 gen CPUs with it it's possible it's got a bios for 13 gen but I wouldn't even bother with any of the 13 Chen the I3 1200f is definitely where we want to focus in it's got great PRM so in the future we can after updating the BIOS on the board with our 1210 CPU go ahead and drop in like an i5 13400 F or even like a 13 600k on this thing and it's got pretty good rear panel connectivity to it really all the features that you need for the ram we're not going to do anything fancy we're just going to go ddr4 3200 cl16 a 2x8 gigabyte kit that's all you need for gaming if you decide to get more you certainly can it's about double the price basically for uh 32 gigs instead of 16 but I will say I will say you don't need to go much faster than this 3200 seal6 on the Intel platforms pretty much gives you most of the performance you're going to get if you're going to go ddr4 for the drive we're going with a team group mp33 nothing fancy here we're going with a 512 gig mvme SSD drive now this is PCI gen 3 you don't really need to get any faster than this $32 I will say the prices of ssds are starting to creep back up that's why we're going with 512 gigs here I wanted to hit as close to that $500 price point as I can but if you don't mind spending another $17 you can of course go with one tab the case I decided let's take advantage of some of the really good case deals that new EG has going right now this is the Magnum gear NeoAir after the rebate $40 oh my goodness that's ridiculous 40 bucks in 2023 almost 2024 for a case is crazy comes with two included argb fans now I will say the top panel appears it's solid so you're not really going to ever want to put a 240 mm all-in-one liquid cooler but this is a budget build we don't even want to talk with liquid cooling right now and you don't even need to buy an extra fan I will say that for it this is probably plenty of air flow for the components that we're putting together but if you want you can always pick up like an Arctic pwm fan a a black one for like5 or $6 for the power supply the great news is the components that we're using super power efficient we're going to go with the MSI mag a550 BN this is a c tier rated PSU on the PSU cultist list $49 right now thankfully these psus kind of come to the rescue of the overall PSU Market I would snap these up over at New Egg all told $511 56 you're going to get a gaming PC that's going to be able to beat consoles now and you're going to be able to upgrade it in the future even when the consoles get better and you're going to be able to do Insane things that you can't do with the consoles like you can Video Edit you can do music editing you can do tons of other flexible stuff out there you want to get into coding here you go right here and only for $511 in 20123 let's punch through some really good cheap 1080p gaming monitors of course if you're putting together a cheap budget gaming PC you need a cheap gaming monitor but you still want something super super good so here's two options starting at $99 the AOC 24 g2e that just means that the stand is not adjustable you basically get what you see here this is a phenomenal IPS flat 24in gaming monitor this used to be our top recommendation $99 right now over at New EG I think they're just trying to get rid of them if you don't mind spying just about $20 more $20 more you can actually get a very similar pack panel in the BenQ Mobius ex240 it just comes with height tilt swivel adjustment as well either one of these is phenomenal both linked down in the video description let's jump into that $750 1440p gaming PC you are going to get really really good frame rates at 1440p we are targeting kind of anywhere from 144 H Herz up to about 180 HZ kind of standard 1440p gaming monitor we will have a 240 HZ build coming next but right now for $750 you can build this and it's going to give you insane performance and Future upgradeability let's jump into the build let's first of course talk about the GPU we are going to go with the insane performance GPU and I for those of you who've been sitting on the sidelines hoping something comes down when this GPU when the RX 6700 XT 12 GB and the 6750 XT 12 GB gpus sell out I am really fearful what happens to 1440p I would snap one of these things up $320 now they did get down over Black Friday to $299 it's only a $20 difference and this to me is probably the most premium of those cards so you're still getting a really really good value this is over at Newegg quickly let's talk about the performance of that card this is from the 4060 TI 16 GB review by techspot we'll leave it linked down in the video description you can see in their 15 game average at 1440p and Ultra or super high settings it got 74 average FPS but this is a brutal test Suite I actually went through and looked to the individual games like the last ofus part one cyberpunk 2077 it's not like you're playing rocket League or anything like that where you're going to get tons and tons of frames and it almost ties almost ties the 4060 TI that's insane levels of performance for this GPU if we look at one of the games in their test week that's easier to run that's Marvel Spider-Man remaster still not that easy to run look at that you get 108 average FPS at 1440p very high quality honestly I would turn it down to just high quality you still probably look exactly the same and you probably start hitting about that 120 130 FPS let's jump through the rest of the platform and honestly there is no getting away from the price or performance of the horizen 55600 you can paare this CP with any GPU up to about an RTX 470 or 7800 XT where it kind of really does hit a wall so I'd go with a higher end CPU for those and we will we will in the next build but for something like the 6700 XT this just makes so much sense and worry not you're still going to get great productivity I used to edit videos on this on this CPU for this channel so you're going to get tons and tons of really really good performance with it also comes with the included race stealth cooler so we're going to use that you can of course replace this if you want for another $20 or so I just wanted to hit that $750 price point this is still a fine CPU Cooler but you can of course get a budget Tower air cooler if you want better thermals and noise for the motherboard we're going to go with an insane value ASRock b550m Pro for $99 upgraded audio on It upgraded other features it's a pretty good motherboard you can of course get cheaper motherboards I'm even seeing some of the older b450 motherboards if you don't really care about PCI Gen 4 which doesn't really seem that important for a build like this you can get it for like $80 $80 right now you could certainly save some money that way or you could go the other direction and get one of the more premium uh b550 boards like the gigabyte a orus elite board that's the ax so it has Wi-Fi on it as well and upgraded audio for about $130 I like this board is a really good kind of in between board for $99 this is really all you need for the drive we're going to upgrade we're going to go to one terab and we're going to get a drive with Dam it cost about $7 more is all to get a drive with Dam I would just do it at this price point it just makes a lot of sense I like the team group mp34 for $55 now storage is going up in price there's just no getting away from that this drive kind of about a month ago was about $45 now it's 54 so storage is creeping up I would not wait to buy it for the ram you can go a different couple different ways I decided to go a little cheaper here you could go 3600 cl16 kits there's a gskill kit I really like for about $47 I'll leave link down in the video description but I also like this kit you're not going to see a ton of performance difference at 1440 P where we're mostly GPU bound and this is $34 there's also an RGB version of this kit if you click right here there's an RGB kit it's only $45 so it's like 12 bucks more if you want to throw in a little bit of RGB bling instead for the case we're going to go with the bit Phoenix Nova mesh $58 I feel like I'm kind of wearing this case out in fact the black one has sold out so if you want go with the Deep cool cc360 argb I'll leave that link down in the video description as well we did our ryzen 7600 and Ron RX 7800 XT build in this case and we absolutely loved building in it the only thing I would say about it is that it's selling out everywhere so grab one while you can let's finish off with the power supply let's just go C tier on the PSU cultist list $60 for the MSI mag a650 BN you can grab this over at Amazon right now it does arrive after Christmas time if that's a big deal I think you can also just snap it up at newg for about the same price and they can get it to you even sooner 650 watts is more than than plenty of power for this build so overall for $751 182 every time I hit refresh the price changes just a little bit because it's the holidays stuff is selling out prices are going crazy you got to grab this stuff while you can and if you have been waiting on the sidelines to get yourself a 1440p gaming PC this is the one that I would build let's jump to the best 1440p gaming monitor deal right now during the holidays and honestly I normally like to give you a couple different options here there's no this is it this is the deal out there this is the a Nitro XV 271 U this is basically the newer variant of the xv272u that I had been recommending at $250 all year long because it's a phenomenal panel this is it successor it's been tested it's an amazing gaming monitor flat IPS good motion handling good response times to it $179 I did not think we would see 1440p game monitors fall to what was basically 10 less than even 1080p territory not too long ago I would snap this deal up before it's gone cuz if you've been waiting this is the deal for you let's jump on that $1,250 440b 240 HZ gaming PC build and yeah this is going to Target 1440p 240 Herz at the titles that are actually going to be able to do that so you're talking CS:GO you're talking OverWatch 2 you're talking League of Legends anything where you're looking to drive huge amounts of frames because you're lowering the settings at 1440p to competitive levels competitive levels but even in other titles it's going to give you tons and tons of frames let's start off where else the GPU I've got three different choices for you the first two are pretty obvious the radon RX 7800 XT I will say this GPU even this 16 gigs of V which I do really like has come up from $4.99 to 5.49 the price has gone up you're like Jason what's going on there they're just selling like hotcakes selling like hotcakes it does beat the RTX 470 and there's just kind of No Way Around especially if you're into competitive Shooters if you're not looking for R tracing or any of that kind of performance if you're just looking for nice rasterized performance this is really kind of the top dog right now and I can't find one at the MSRP there's maybe one 539 529 but they're going to arrive after Christmas of course going to head to-head with his nvidia's option that's the gigabyte windforce RTX 470 there's a $539 Zotac card but I really like this we Ed this one in our mini ITX build two thumbs up I've used both these cards from gigabyte I really like both of them if you're wondering about which card to get once you decide between 7800 XT or 4070 both these gigabyte models are really good if you're looking to save a little bit of cash get similar performance consider buying an RX 6800 XD there's still some decent deals out there not as good as Black Friday but still pretty good so with the promo code $489 it's like a $70 saving $70 savings on this card and it's going to give you similar levels of performance we'll see just a moment you do lose av1 encoding off of the 7800 XT uses slightly more power but otherwise really really comparable let's talk about the benchmarks this is techbots 15 game average from their RX 7800x XT review you can see the 7800 XT kind of noses out performance from both the 6800 XT and RTX 470 which kind of is in the rear right now I will say 7800 XD has pretty good 1% lows by comparison to the 470 and of course it's got the 16 gigs of vram but I know some of you are Nvidia only so if that's you the 470 is still a pretty good value right now although I will say the 470 super supposedly coming out in January or at least going to be announced in January we don't know when we're actually going to get it so if you want to wait that being said will all the other components be on sale no so if you want something I might just pull the trigger now let's go through the rest of the platform honestly the ryzen 57600 is down $194 what what is going on that's the cheapest price it's ever been so don't worry that you're not getting the great deal you're getting a pretty good deal right here the motherboards have also gotten cheaper the Ram's gone up a little bit we'll go over that in just a moment but honestly if you're looking at a GPU like that RTX 470 or RX 6800 XT 7800 XT level or higher this is where I would start until you get to the super highend gpus and I would go to the 7800 X 3D but this is just super priced performance 194 194 right now I would of course toss the included stock cooler and don't worry about the 7600 versus 7600 X just get the cheaper one for the cooler you could of course try and use the included stock cooler let's toss it let's get a budget Tower air cooler there's a lot of good options here I'm just randomly pulling out the ID cooling SC 214 XT I really do like this cooler quite a bit I use it in a lot of different builds it's got RGB on it it looks nice it's got decent fan noise to it of course you could go with something like the thermalite assassin X or any of those assassin single Tower style coolers as well the Deep cool ag400 also honorable mention here just grab any of these single Tower coolers cuz they're more than enough for the motherboard I would love to recommend the ASRock B 650m pro RS Wi-Fi that we used in our build but it's right now it's backordered it's backordered I'll leave a link to it you can check it out you can try and backorder if you want I'm not sure normally they have an ETA when it's going to come in I don't see that let me give you some Alternatives here the gigabyte b650 M ds3h actually about the same price 129 similar style feature set but does not have the Wi-Fi Bluetooth on it if you're really jonesing for that Wi-Fi Bluetooth even if you don't need the Wi-Fi maybe you want the Bluetooth part of it you can either get an add-in card or a dongle for it or you can just go ahead and pay 20 bucks for and get something like the MSI Pro b650 m-8 and again that's if you don't want to wait otherwise you consider back ordering that azrock board that I think is phenomenal with three m.2 slots now listen Ram is one area where prices have gone up now that's a similar to SSD prices have gone up Ram's going to go up brace yourself I would buy whatever you need right now because I think in 2024 we're going to see a little bit of a price hike on this stuff as they have throttled production because they overproduced in the past and we were buying stuff that they were trying to fire sale off now they're just trying to make a pretty good profit off it but I still like the team force Delta RGB 2x 16 GB kit RGB kit ddr5 6000 cl30 I like this kit for ryzen 7600 there are some other kits I'll leave link down in the video description as well if this one sells out which keeps doing for the drive I wanted to get two terabytes this time for our our system and I want to stay with a drive that has Dam to it really no reason to go away from the team group mp34 2 terab $91 right now there's some other drives out there that are kind of competitive with it so feel free to get whichever one that suits you I just really like this one in the case let's do something fun let's go over the diypc argb Q3 you can also get this on Amazon it's sold by Autocare Depot which if you click through you find out is actually a subsidiary of new EG so new EG is selling it on Amazon but they're not called newg it's kind of confusing but honestly I've ordered cases from them on Amazon it works just fine or get it here at newg $59 now it comes with these argb fans that are Molex so if you're not great with that I have a solution for you for only $13 right now you can pick up the thermalite 3 pack argb fans you can get them either white or black for $14 these are great fans by the way got great ratings I have different sets I have a white and a black set over here they absolutely run great the noise is pretty good on them all too $14 so if you want to replace those fans I might go ahead and just start with the case see how it is and if it bugs you then just buy this for the power supply hey I went with a thermal t top power GFA 3 this is an a tier rated PSU and it has massively calmed down in price massively come down in price uh since just about a month ago or so this is ATX 3.0 and pcie 5 especially if you're going to go with the Nvidia GPU and it's got the uh 12volt high power connector on it this has the cable for that so this is a great PSU to pick up for only $89 so all told right now 1253 every time I hit refresh the price changes by a couple of dollars but this is a great build and of course if you don't need the fans you decide the fans are fine for you or you just decideed to go with a different case option you could get this even a little bit cheaper and and you going to get 240 Herz in competitive titles competitive titles at competitive settings and this build is going to be good for years with that am5 you're going to be able to drop in a future CPU upgrade just so much value here let me give you the two best 240 Heartz 1440p gaming monitor deals that are still out there now there were some insane deals insane deals over Black Friday and there's still good deals right now let's start off with one that's very similar to the Samsung Odyssey G7 1440p 240 HZ that is the aocc CQ 27 g3z 27 in $319 this is a curved VA panel if you're looking for that more immersive experience if you're looking for slightly better contrast than the IPS panels can give you this is a really really good one I will say right now arrives after Christmas arise after Christmas but 319 is really hard to be the one I'm super excited is back in stock is the HP Omen 27 Qs this is a flat IPS 240 H Herz it's freesync premium and g-sync compatible it's got got basically everything that you're looking for now it's comparable to for instance the gigabyte M27 q-x or the new MSI 240 HZ 1440p game monitor that I recommended in other videos however it's a lot cheaper it's a lot cheaper right now honestly of those three right there if you're looking for flat IPS at 240 HZ 1440p just get the cheapest one and right now over at Best Buy for $329 this is it remember everything is linked down in the video description so check out those links for current pricing and availability and of course if you got value out of this video give it a like as it makes a huge difference to the channel and of course subscribe click that Bell icon that way you get notified when we release cool content hey cool content like
