hey everyone welcome back to White Sparrow living Luke 126 I'm Wendy and I'm so happy you're here today we're doing some home decor Dollar Tree DIYs using foam Dice and you know what we're starting now for this project I'm using these Dollar Tree items I've got an LED pillar candle two packs of the foam dice an oval wood plaque for my base a pretty Medallion I use these all the time and I've already painted the back of this one white and then one of these 12in wooden dowels so the first thing I did was took my big fat nail and I'm going to stick it right in the middle of my dye now this foam is pretty dense so it wasn't easy getting my poker back out so I had to use the poer outer part of my hammer and then poked my nail in again from the other side and I thought that would have loosened it up but nope it was still super hard to get out so I decided instead to pull out my Lady Jane drill that my sweet friend Natalie at design to the nine sent me and I drilled a hole all the way through all of my Dice and I tried to keep my drill bit as straight as I could so when I stack them onto that dowel they won't be all wonky or [Music] lopsided so I stuck some scrap dowels into each of them and I'll use those to hold my dice while I take them outside and paint them black and you know what I actually I think Michael Jay painted these for me there was so much dice painting going on I forgot who painted what anyway I also painted my plaque with my white chalk paint and then I use some spackle to fill the little hole in my Medallion and then I'm going to paint over that and I didn't even paint the design on the other side because that's not going to show but you can if you want so then I chose four scriptures from each Gospel Matthew Mark Luke and John and I'm going to write their first names in order on one die and then I made sure that no matter which numbers you turn these two each gospel is going to have a scripture that goes with that chapter and verse so for example everyone knows John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son but I had to make sure that my friends Matthew Mark and Luke also had a chapter 3: 16 and then of course for Luke I used my channel name Luke 126 are not five sparrows sold for two pennies yet not one of them is forgotten by God so then Matthew Mark and John had to have a chapter 12: 6 you see what I'm saying and so on and so forth but where it got really complicated was when I had to figure out and make sure that no matter which number I turned to there would be a chapter and verse for each of those books so that meant I had to be sure there was say a John 36 you know the six from Luke which said says flesh gives birth to flesh but the spirit gives birth to Spirit so it was definitely a labor of scripture love and I learned some new scriptures but I do have everything written out for you guys in the description box below so if you decide to make this it's already ready for you [Music] [Music] so now to put this together I drilled a partial hole into the underside of my Medallion but I don't want to go all the way through because that's going to be the top of our handle holder and then I drilled a hole into the base and that one it's okay if it goes all the way through and then I stuck my dowel into the base fed my dice on and then capped it with The Medallion at the top and I forgot to mention I put the colon on all four sides of that third dice so you can tell they're actually scriptures [Music] so now I'm going to make a messy Bow by taking two small strips of ribbon in different sizes and patterns but all of these are from Dollar Tree and I dovetailed all of the ends and then folded them in half and then I'll pinch them in the middle and put them together alternating the loops and then I'm going to use some juk twine to tie it all together and I had planned to wrap it around my candle but decided to move it down to the bottom and I'll show you that in just a second so I took one of those Dollar Tree laser cut crosses and I used a straight pin to attach it to my candle and I did toward the bottom so you couldn't see it from the top of the candle so it's hidden and it's pretty cute when I added the bow but it covered some of my cross so I just moved her down to the bottom and hot glued it in place either way is super cute though but here it is is all finished and I think it is so pretty and you can move these around for the different scriptures now I can see the original dots that are on the dice on camera but in real life they don't show so I guess it's the texture or the lighting or something I don't know it's so weird but I guess it's because scripture always reveals the truth for this next project I picked up one of these cute little stacking signs and this turned out to be another brain teaser because I'm going to use two packages of the smaller Square foam Dice and I'm going to make a calendar for this one so I had to figure out which letters and which numbers needed to be on each side of all the dice so that I could have a combo for every month day and year way harder than it sounds but anyway I took some painters tape and turned it Sticky Side up so I could paint my Dice and I put five on one board and three on the other I took them to my handy dandy painting station that Michael J made for for me it's getting so old and worn but it still gets the job done so I'm using some Rustoleum paint in the color khaki and it was a really windy day so the paint was kind of just flying everywhere but you can see I just turned my board to get all of the sides painted I do have a lazy Susan but these dice are so light they would have flown off without that tape there but I gave everything a few coats and then for my three dice I painted those with my white matte or matte White so I opened up my sign and originally I was just going to use the bottom part for my calendar but when I read what the top sign actually said I really liked the message so kind of just decided to Pivot and do a little more to it but I'm going to keep it exactly as it is it says life takes us to unexpected places love brings us home and I immediately knew what I was going to do with it I thought of our son Kelsey who got a great job a couple years ago but it's all the way in Chicago and this mommy's heart doesn't love that but it is his Jeremiah 2911 so I'm happy for his journey so anyway I tried a couple of different dollar tree houses to put on top and this one is super cute but I felt like it was just a little bit too big and then I found this one that a sweet viewer Darla in Michigan sent to me with 7010 other goodies I'll show you these and some other things that other people sent to me when I get my craft room video done because they were all kind of condolence perky prizes it's kind of an oxymoron but it was just so thoughtful of everyone and I just received another box today but never mind I'll show you that one next month anyway as adorable as this message is on the little house I'm going to paint over it and turn it into a photo holder so I painted just the face of my house because the trim matched my top sign perfectly and then I painted over the pretty mountainscape and the sides of the bottom sign and then I sanded the edges because I wanted some of that underlying blue to peek through so I've kept these little clips that I took off of something in another project but I can't remember what they're off of and remember it's not hoarding if you use it but I removed the hook that was on there and attached it to the top of my little house with some super glue and hot glue and that's going to hold a picture of our son Kelsey this our beautiful Mar and I will tell for this child is Junior and his mommy I have prayed but that's a whole other God story anyway I printed out and cut a teeny tiny copy which shout out to our neighbor's daughter Malia seie who did our family portraits when everyone was here for Christmas and I'm going to clip it on there and then glue the house onto the top sign [Music] [Music] so then I took four of these little wood blocks from the Dollar Tree and I'm going to glue those to the bottom of my box just to elevate it a little bit and now it's time to work on our blocks so there was a lot of overspray on these and I guess that was because of the wind so you'll want to wipe them off if you have that problem too and then on the white ones I used my gold paint pen to write the letters for the months and that's going to match with the gold writing on the sign and then on the tan blocks I used my white paint pen for all the numbers now when I put the calendar together I had to make one extra Block in order to have all all the days and months and years available so just hide that extra one until you need it and again I will have the block cheat sheet below so you don't even have to blow a brain gasket like I almost did trying to figure it out and I had planned to leave the little feet in the natural wood tone but I didn't like the way it looked so I ended up staining them with some antique wax and it was done and here's how it turned out and I love this so much you see my lettering isn't perfect and the dice aren't all the same size but I just think that makes it even cuter so not only is it pretty cutie patootie but I can use the calendar to count down the days until my babies come back home I love it and I love them and I hope you like it [Music] too now this next project is an oldie but of goodie from a few years ago and it's super easy so I thought I'd include it here I just painted four dice with my black chalk paint and then took some of the ever popular Dollar Tree wood letters that fit perfectly on these dice I spelled out the word farm and I'm going to paint those white and then I'll go back to my dice which are dry now and dry brush the edges and corners and a little bit of the flat surface part and I'm going to do that with some white chalk paint and I think the white on the black is just so pretty but now that my letters are dry I'm going to go back and use my black paint pen to go around the edges of those letters and then glue them on to the sides of my Dice and I did these as part of my Dollar Tree enamelware tiered tray and I just placed them at the bottom but if you want to see how I made this whole situation I will link that video Below in the description box and also at the end of this video so you can just click it and it'll take you right to the video I love how this turned out a long time ago and I still love it I hope you guys like it [Music] too for this project I us three packs of dice and two wood planks and when the grandbabies saw Grandma crafting with dice they really wanted to help so I use my big fat nail again to poke holes in the middle of my dice but this time we're only going in about an inch or two just so we can poke in a dowel to get them painted [Music] so once they were on a stick we poked them into a pool noodle and this was my prototype noodle I made as a tester for my big chain links I made in another video so it was perfect for holding these while Michael Jay painted them white so while those were being painted I used my Waverly antique wax to stain my boards and Connor lost interest about here and went back to swimming but I couldn't decide on the color combination that I wanted for these so I had to collab with cadence and I gave her three options and she chose this one which I think is my favorite but option number one was to paint the boards black and then the dice white and I would use them as my front door wreath alternative you know and then option number two was to paint the boards White and the dice either tan or black and then this was the third option and she didn't even hesitate and she said well I don't think they'll stay nice if you put them outside and if you paint the boards white they won't show up against your white shiplap wall okay so Grandma did not even think about that K so now we see who the brains of this operation is now I'm going to be putting in some some Dollar Tree Greenery but I wanted to show you how pretty this is with the different flowers I have some pink hydrangeas you could use some pretty lavender which would be perfect for the lent season I was going to use some Dollar Tree succulents and I should have shown you that too but I didn't have enough but anyway so I made two more messy bows using the same ribbon as we did before but this time I'm laying them out and just crisscrossing my ribbons so there won't be any Loops this time and then again just scrunchi them up in the middle and I used a chenel stem to hold them all together and then trimmed off any pieces that were a little too long and doing your dovetail Cuts before putting it together is way easier than doing it afterwards so I made my bows before attaching my dice to the wood so I would know how far down they needed to go and then I'm going to add some of this really pretty Dollar Tree eucalyptus for my Greenery and I'll just cut three little stems for each vase yep now they're vases and then poke them into the foam where my dowel hole is you can glue these in for additional security but that foam is so dense they stay snug as a bug in a [Music] rug and then I'm going to use some hot glue to attach the top and the bottom piece first and then I can find the center of those and add my middle one and if there are any imperfections on one of the sides you can always use that one as the part that you're gluing to the board and you can see here I'm staggering them the same way on each scon now they're sconces but the idea is to stagger them on the wall when you hang them so that the vases will be staggered all the way [Music] down and then to attach my bow I tied some jute twine around the middle and cut off the excess Chanel stem and then I'll feed that twine through the original holes and then tie it at the top so now your bow is secure and you don't have to glue it on and you have your hanger all in [Music] one if you do have a problem feeding your juk through the holes take a little piece of your Chanel stem and fold it over the twine and use it like a needle to get it in there and you're [Music] done and here it is all finished and I absolutely love how these turned out thank you Cadence for your help I hope hope you guys enjoyed this video and if you did don't forget to give it a thumbs up comment let me know what you think if you're not already I hope you'll consider hitting that subscribe button down below as well as the little Bell right next to it so that you can be notified every time I upload a brand new video that was a long sentence I hope everyone has a blessed day and remember to always be the light bye [Music]
