the way for 21 days [Music] at this point i don't know whether to be nervous whether to be excited [Music] i have abundance of confidence and i'm completely comfortable sleeping next to someone that i don't know i've done it before really hope that my partner is easy going and likes to joke around because as much pain as we're gonna go through i'm gonna need all of their positive energy to get you woods and forester oh absolutely uh i'm from massachusetts i live in l.a now okay nice ellie's awesome different and we are not in la anymore this rarely traveled area of the state of quintana roo contains some of mexico's most dense and mountainous jungles investing with disease-carrying mosquitoes and armies of fearless fire ants pretty much feel like i have something constantly like crawling on my butt right now if you want to hang a minute i can check for you nothing's inappropriate around me just to let you know i was really excited to meet christina she's got a great sense of humor and uh she seems tough so two thumbs up for christina be careful there's a ton of thorns [Music] steve seems very nice and very calm and i am very vocal i have zero filter man another thorn just went my foot so i think we're gonna get along really well wow this is amazing yeah that looks pretty sweet this is gorgeous that looks beautiful see that's our home down there for 21 days it just looks like a little tropical paradise so [Music] smells something [Music] everything is so wet right now [Music] like once it's raw it's not gonna work [Music] uh you got this bro oh baby come on keep it over keep it over [Music] so today we attempted to make fire again and we got it started so we have a fire now we can drink lots of water we have fire this brought us life like [Music] today my belly's growling so loud i'm gonna make a deadfall trap this is this actually works really great with like squirrel and rabbits animal comes in eats hits it falls down boom animal's dead i come find breakfast and i know if i come across something i will kill it straight up we'll kill it i don't care what it takes i'm going to kill it look at that i can't see its tail but it looks like a red tail boa i love animals i love animals but i am hungry and i'm going to be way more hungry in a few days if we don't get something so part of me hopes i don't catch it the other part of me knows i will [Music] oh that's good come on heads up heads up heads up hey christina yo you come here i got food it's just a little baby that is awesome yeah i just don't even want to kill him i want to eat him man bring his meat up here it's so pretty [Music] they did not want to kill that snake but it's not an option when you're out here damn it yeah there's tons of them oh my god i would never wish this on anyone the bug bites alone is worth half i'm so tired right now you and me both i can't sleep today it is going to be food priority checking my trip ah something set it off vets i don't think they're interested in the meats come get some damn it i just want one little fish [Music] ow damn it you do not think i feel the exact same way yes okay i know i'm here every time oh my god they just bite you oh yeah over hurts it's itching so bad oh my god i feel like steve um i'm sure he's not happy with me but my mental state right now for the lack of sleep and food is really with me we're both hungry and we need food so i made a new basket to see if we could catch some fish that way i am a country girl i'm an outdoors person i do hunt and stuff but everything that i've made so far is just completely uh pulled out of my so i'm gonna put my fishing pole down while you're in the water just be still see what happens they want it i want to cry because we're not successful with food they got mad all over me it's just so cold though oh geez man ow how welcome to my rock every day i like to start off here with positive thoughts and positive vibes refocus after the evenings [Music] today we're building a raised platform so that we can get off of the ground and hopefully away from the bugs if we don't we'll probably not be happy tomorrow or the next day or the next nine days i just hate dealing with this because it's cold and it's wet and it sucks sucks [Music] it feels so good right now just to lay down off the ground uh this i don't know i don't know i don't know this is gonna hurt my you've got the more comfy side because yours is a bigger gap in the middle oh it's so downhill [Music] [Music] see this is like would you rather have sleep or a fire whatever i'm asking a question i'm not into i just don't think you have any capacity to understand how someone else feels and that blows my mind for someone who says they're so positive i am possible oh i'm so holy right now you can kiss my [Music] last night after whatever yesterday was she was quiet i guess who slept well i feel so much better than i did yesterday it worked out really well i think i have a little extra energy today not really proud of myself at all right now what's going on i just i'm hungry i just really want to leave i can't do this anymore why do you want to leave right now i'm just so hungry and tired i don't want to check out here by myself so i'll be boring i don't want to sleep with a floor anymore i just want to go would you want me to leave you no no don't you think you're pretty incredibly strong for making it to this point i just can't dance anymore if you get food can you make it i think if i get food i can make it can we make a deal if i can catch food in the next 24 hours i'm gonna go try right now i just don't know if i can [Music] i can't express how difficult this is to anybody who thinks that it's easy because it's not a little food right now would be like a miracle and i'm trying to stay strong for her and i'm trying to stay strong for myself this is beyond anything listen did you do that [Music] oh my god i got it so steve just got two toads and we're starving i'm sorry i love these little guys but they're dinner i'm sorry i really feel bad too steve is a reptile guy he doesn't want to do it so i'm gonna do it cut their eight legs off and eat oh can't wait [Music] i can't even tell you how excited i am right now just the meat hanging off of them i think once these get my tummy i mud up i'll go right to sleep good oh so good [Music] game changer big time this morning after waking up i realized you know we just need to both need to be adults that was eight toe legs that we got to devour last night the enthusiasm and just happiness that i produced last night just from that was it was just amazing nothing bothered us didn't care if the mosquitoes were swarming we just had a best dinner ever wow that's a lot of firewood yeah i've been collecting this morning i'm gonna break it all down and collect some more throughout the day wow i love the energy i love the flip of the switch that she just had it was just so amazing there's a pee me too how far are we going peace i'm going right here all right oh then god i am the winner right there it looks like a little slide marks from where crocodile went in great let's do it what is this stuff [Music] there's a light at the end of the tunnel all we need to do is push a little further and we're there we're at the end of a marathon no one quits on mile 25 you push and you push hard [Music] this has definitely been a life-changing experience there's no question about it i thought the jungle was going to be the difficult part but it was really trying to partner and live with someone in this environment it's all right my patience was tested my energy levels were tested my sleep deprivation was tested and i really think that that's why we were put together i think i needed to be here for her and i think she needed to be here to remind me that i'm on the right path and i'm doing the right thing in life and just let her know it is amazing what you can actually do and you set your mind to it jungle it's a beautiful day in kentucky i'm just glad to be here with my daughter i'm so excited to be home um it was a great experience in the jungle i do not miss it at all this is me in bed with blankets [Music] and pillows and no mosquitoes you
