£40 Survival kit in olive BCB 25 litre daysack (review)

[Music] yo yo guys can we take from off talk it's fabulous prepping in this video i'm going to be doing a review of the survival care recently purchased prepaid for about 40 pounds including shipping however like always i can't really put a link to this description down below for these two reasons first will be i actually won this in an auction so it's not available to purchase any more and second of all being this is actually kit that someone's made themselves so they've bought this bag before the goodies inside separately and turn them into a functioning survivor kit so i'll give it my honest opinion but in this case it's going to be one star it wasn't worth my money five star it was worth the money so we'll go over all the items and like i've started doing with these kits if i do personally feel like it's missing any items i do have lying around i would just add them in just to finish this cut off to just show you how i would make this kit not really improved but just add the things that i feel like it's missing and there is meant to be some bonus items in here basically it was the lane shipping because because the guy who sold this to me had some personal stuff they had to deal with so did say for the delay for the inconvenience he'll add me in a few freebies so if they are i do know the items that were initially meant to be in here they are still in here but if the bonus item will actively will say this is a bonus item just so you know yeah let's pretty much get straight into it so it comes in a bcb 25 litre day sack so it's waterproof it's got that going for it it's definitely not high quality you can tell just by looking at it it looks quite flimsy and weak at the moment that's just because it's not filled up with a full 25 liters that can hold but as well as the 25 liters that can hold in the main compartment which is underneath that that'll show you soon just four compartments on the outside so you've got one two three four so one at the top one at the front and two at the sides so they're all slip compartments where you could put stuff like your phone your map stuff like that however the sub compartments are not waterproof so do not put any electronics or anything along them lines in these zip compartments the main bit inside inside the sack we'd stop everything uh it's completely waterproof i'll go over that a bit more later so simply just take it off by clips which we'll get to in a second but now i'm just going to show you the back of the backpack so first of all here we have two things which are as you know if you're gonna have two straps for your arms so they both got a decent bit of padding on so that will help a little bit with comfort on a long trail uh this backpack personally just from looking at it it's not high quality you can obviously tell the butt for what it's intended for a day sack i do feel like it would be fairly decent that if i was just going on a day trip it's not like hiking i don't really like carrying big bags when i'm not going out there for long term so something like this would be perfect you know just having a first aid kit and the survival essentials just in case the worst case scenario happens sorry about that but yeah so it is a decent kit i mean sorry a decent bag so then here we have some padding at the bottom for your lower back which is always good you want a bit of a comfort there if your rubber back however though this is nice and firm which will just give it a bit more it will just be a bit easier and for long term walking carrying this item and then simply at the top here we have this to hoist it off the ground or simply put onto a hook his watch iu like the one i've got there i use that bit to keep this on a hook so now let's go over all the goodies inside so it's quite similar to a burgeoning how you take this off a bergen has like this thing where it comes off and then there's the uh inside bit which took over the second above all the items so to just do that just untip it and this is where it is all completely waterproof and yep all on the inside it does seem to be waterproof so that's good so we're not going over these in any particular order we'll just get items out as we grab them so the first time we got over here is the water bottle and cooking system so we'll go from top to bottom so first off we have a plastic like pot so you could simply could keep stuff like water in here once after you've boiled it and it's cooled down a bit you could keep maybe not boiling hot food because that might damage it because it's just like a plastic but you know food when it's like you know room temperature well make something maybe not room temperature but eat into temperature so it's not boiling hot but it's not cold cold food and water stuff like that would be perfect going in here next item we have is the water bottle so this is it doesn't have any certain name in it but it's basically just a standard black canteen screw off top there you put your water it's probably one liter most of these canteens are so a one liter water bottle basically you've got there uh keep away from flames again this is made of plastic like that plastic up there and then these are the two bits that are probably made of either steel or something like that you know a decent metal i don't know if it necessarily steel i don't think it's aluminium though correct me if i'm wrong but simply here we have this is the cooking pot so this one is made of metal from the pictures and i've not seen it in the bag i do see i'll let you know but it doesn't seem to have a lid which i never get with these canteen kind of cooking parts it's funny that but yeah it doesn't have the lid to go over it so in a bench add some tin foil to use that but yeah so this is simply where you'd boil your water cook your food and this here is actually a stove so as you can see inside there you'd have a circular bit that's where you put your fuel like you've got alcohol sticks fire blocks stuff like fuel box sorry stuff like that and you simply would keep it like that put it on and there you go you've got your food cooking it's it's small compared to be good for if you're trying to stay hidden if you're in this valve situation uh in a post-apocalyptic kind of situation in a survival situation normally you're going to want to get rescued so you might want to pick a fire but if you want to stay hidden which sometimes you do something like this would be actually perfect it's compressed it's small and it all fits into that all fits back nicely together as you can see so a decent little cooking system on water bottle there definitely enough to get the job done i mean right there you've got purification by boil you can boil that to purify water you've got a way to cook food you've got everything you pretty much need to give yourself sustenance in that fairly big but reasonably sized package so that's the first item let's go over the next time so we're not going over these like i said in any certain way we're just going to go wherever we grab our time oh so this oh we've got two items we'll go over that one in a second so this is 30 feet off sorry 100 feet or 30 meters of paracord it's five strand 550 paracord so yeah a decent amount of cordage obviously that can be used for shelter building stuff along them lines it can be used for setting traps in a worst case scenario uh somebody's one of the strands can pull the user's fishing line uh was the end of it we'll have a look at what if it can it's knock off or if it's generally got decent strand inside the ends have been burnt off i've got a knife on hand i'm trying to pull it out that's been the burning off to keep him scored but it is proper paracore like you can feel the inner strands inside so five sean paracord so the next i'm getting out here is a flashlight and i think this is one of bonus items because it does come with a flashlight but it's a little black led one i don't know if this is about i don't know if this is lad uh led led one of the other uh but yeah i don't know if this is the proper decent flashlight but i have got some batteries so let's see how good it is you screw it off there absolutely top seems to be bent there i don't know if it's meant to be like that but it looks like it's broken so it might not work see now that takes one or two double a batteries which you do have some batteries here yes so two double-a batteries let's see if i put this flashlight uh it's not the switch i know that seems to change a lot it seems to be turning on oh there we go just twisted it it worked so see there's nothing special but it's a nice little flashlight yeah it's definitely not led or led whichever one it is uh but yeah so a nice little flashlight and it does seem to have a couple of light settings if you turn this so it's got a red light and a green light so that's decent i guess i mean it might be kind of like a military style one if anyone knows let me know in the comments but uh it's made by naitech ltd was made in 1998 so a year before i was born and then that's just a model number got a bit of a dry throat but yeah so a flashlight nonetheless you know for work around camp you know you know if you want to stay hidden again decent little flashlight we'll get the batteries out just in case you need a video of a flashlight sorry about this i know this must look really weird to anyone watching there we go so yeah so we've got one flashlight so this is the bonus item like i said so decent enough don't know if it's waterproof don't know anything about it does have a lanyard as well it's just made out of string or wire or something but yeah so flashlight nonetheless put the batteries back there if we didn't forgive the flashlight oh so this must be enough of a bonus sign because that is the college it's meant to come with it that's the uh 30 sorry 30 feet of five shine power cord and this is just normal cordage this isn't paracords there's no winner strands so just some either knock off or just some average cordage whether some knock-off paracord or just some average coverage i don't know how many feet like i said this is one of the bonus items i know that one is 30 meters or 100 feet it looks about the same might be a little more might be a little less but a decent length of college do you know two sources of cordage right there can't really go wrong oh this is one of the items that was initially in the kit uh this is a bonus site in this one so this is the mountain warehouse solid fuel stove with fuel let's get it out so this has been open as you can see before it did say so many items have been used he did say somebody in the description so this might be one of them that's been used or at least opened oh and that was awkward together so as the box that comes in let's have a look at this i saw as got some fuel blocks inside i could see him yeah four little fuel blocks for waxing material it'll be like a waxy fuel material hopefully lighter quite well uh and then this is the multi-fuel kind of cooker thing like the stove uh straight away i can tell this is cheap flimsy it's got flex it's made of cheap aluminium cheat metal something like that it's got flex a lot of i could you know right now could snap this i'm not gonna but yeah so i did a review recently he was one of one of the latest videos on a btv cooking stove and that cost me i think three pounds 70 of amazon uh if this is more than that i'll be extremely extremely flabbergasted up for lack of a better word because this is a lack of a better word a piece of i want to trust this to cook anything but nonetheless it is part of the kit so we'll put that there and we'll just put that off to the side also there is some fuel blocks so we have a couple of different ones in there we have all these are the ones i have at the moment these are the fire dragon clean and green fuel and there's some bcb fire dragon fuel as well so five all together some fuel blocks they'd probably be better used in the uh cook in the canteen cooking pot kind of cooking system instead of the piece of crap metal cheap crap that next time we're going to get out oh this is uh one of the items initially and this is the ammo dutch ammo pouch i think that was what he called in the description already put so many items in here just pretty smart to save on space so let's see what all these items are so everything also first of all we have a button compass see if that is accurate yeah i can tell you that is an accurate compass so that's decent it's saying no it's that way norfolk is that way then we have a candle on so this is one of them 24-hour kind of style candles look at how so he's got some matches as well so that's a 24 hour candle and then you have a little the emergency candle and survival guide so that's to do with that they're both made by the same thing so that oh also if i didn't say that they'd have some matches inside of it that candle and then if this is a little tinder compartment it's a little dry thing to keep small amount of tinder and we'll see some stuff in there now that's there is you can see it so it's just got some little cotton buds there's i think it i don't think it's got anything on it i think he's just cotton or stuff like that a little bit of cotton uh tinder sauce there those are also some matches in here it doesn't appear to be a striker it's not there is it i wonder if it's is it yeah i think it's this i think is this ridgeline in it it's not there no that's an unscrew so see if we can get a spark i'll see you can so you simply just strike the batches on the little metal i think there's like a rough material that's a rough bit of metal simply use it as a striker without much so nice little thing there to keep some to keep your tinder dry and some matches in it to help with fire just with an initial source basically so that's pretty decent and it screws up nice and tight you probably have this like on a necklace i see some people do it like that but everything like a necklace so if they ever get separated from the main part of kit i mean so from the main kit they at least have some sort of ignition source that's always good to practice something like that i can't see why it wouldn't be useful match off to the side as well and then we just have to touch ammo pouch yeah so you could put that stuff back in there or use that separately i guess um also the next sound we've got out here is the uh fire steel feral rod whatever you want to call it so as you can see there you've got the ferro rod which has got a nice little grip there for your thumb so you can just grip it like that i do like that and you've got the striker there which is also got a camera simply just use that to get the material off that's what may tell me anything from wrong let me know but it does seem to be getting the material off i should just go to this so yeah see if it throws a decent spot so you can see it doesn't seem to throw a fairly decent spark uh i think my friends incorrect on that though because he did say use this to get the material off i don't see how it's useful so that might be something else if anyone knows what that pit's for let me know i've don't really know i know that's a candle never know it's got a little ruler on it it might be tonight it might just be really good with this but that's what we made said it was for when he asked him but you can see it froze decent spark so a decent fire still there so next time i will go over this last this is a survival kit within this advocate this is the survival medic soul survival kit so we will go over that in a little bit so that's probably the only ones that find in this kit oh here we have her the flashlight so i've got really dry throat today guys i think i'm getting a bit of a cold i think i mentioned in my last video i've got a bit of a bad throat today uh but yeah so this is made by cray i think i've heard of that brand ultrafire says they're on the side as well but yeah so let's see what batches it takes so just take one double a there we go see how these in this flashlight is so just looking on the outside it has got a nice clip there you can clip onto your belt onto your pocket something along them lines so there we go so you can see it's nice and bright it's got bright and then it's got this which is dim and it's got a strobe effect and it's got right again yeah so three different saying so it's got bright dim and stroke so that's decent yeah it seems bright in the flock i said so nice little flashlight there i think that's better than the little green well not a little bigger than this but the green one i got out so yeah so this is the flashlight that initially came with it i've got a really good flashlight nonetheless so like i said i'll go over a bit more later we'll put that there so remember next time two of them so these are both tinder sources five starting material five starting sauces what do you want to call them so first off here we have natural cap capac park park i guess you say tinder let's see what this one is it comes with 100 oh it's 100 organic chemical free fire starter 100 organic not organic whatever she said organic chemical free fire starter so so look so i was also a little faster than ever in a second but this is the timber sauce so it's a nice fluff it kind of feels like like a cotton bud like i just i think you've said there but this is like natural material i don't certainly know it's made of it kind of feels like fur it could be i might be wrong though but yeah like a kind of a soft woolly kind of feel to it yeah i feel like that will throw decent spots i mean we can have a little look for this with a this fire seal we don't really need as much of that see if it catches the spark and just simply we'll put it out back in there see if this catches the spark of this little five still there we go they all could do it on the table sat like this so let's see if we get it started let's just put it here guys i don't like it it's like it's like being a fight for this one so that definitely goes up quick uh you probably want a bigger power than that but yeah for that went up so tender sauce is good put that back in there with it so so this dinner sauce was got a little fire seal yeah definitely works so there we have that and then here is some oh this is some fat wood smells nice and resiny but yeah decent amount of fat wood good firefly material as well make some firefighters out of that use it as small bits of kindling if you're in a pinch you know if it's like raining in everything else's finger you might be able to get fire started with this i mean i probably pretty much would use it mainly as tinder but a good amount of flat wood in there as you can see nice and dry nice and resiny so i actually did a uh review of a survival kit and fishing kit by the people who made these uh so we obviously bought these separately and added them into this kit so two of the tinder sources or five sorting sources anyway so now let's go to the next item oh this is the little uh key chain survival kit or something it was i think that was the name of it so anyway on here we have along with carabiner we have a firestarter we have a compass i'll see if that's accurate yep again just seems to be accurate also has a thermometer on there as well it's made by eurohike and it does have on the back um oh that's just attempt that's just to tell what the temperature is on the back and then we have a little button flashlight so that'd be perfect for using the tent in the shell again and then as well we have an emergency whistle made by sun camp sun camp so an emergency whistle and it all comes on a carabiner it's definitely not a high quality carabiner you can tell straight away it feels no weight to it feels flimsy like it bend but yeah nonetheless it'd be good for hoisting your bag off the ground or something like that so a little carabiner survival okay i think it was what was said in the uh description anyway so i think there's only a couple of items left in here might this might be the last item we'll go for if it is that does seem to be everything inside the pack so uh this is definitely a bonus item though because everything other than a flashlight under the cordage and yeah the flashlight the cordage and this so there's three bonus items then it was initially in this kit so the white cold edge to flashlight the green one and this highlander oh it's a multi-tool all right decent see there multi-tool obviously pliers wire cutters there at the top i'll look what it's got on it so we have a saw they have a couple of different screw heads oh that's an a a file i think a metal file there's a little knife a little blade anyway and then this here on this side we have oh we have a dedicated knife so guess in a sense this kit does have a knife in or at least a knife blade nothing special it does seem to be reasonably sharp we have a can opener as well and a couple of screwdriver heads so yeah my decent multi-tool so it's just as highlander i'm guessing that's he made it and it's a multi-tool so decent enough feels well made doesn't feel flimsy cheap they also have a multi-tool so now guys let's go over this separate survivor kit in this kit big words there so this is a survival medic soul survive outdoors longer that's what it says uh so apparently the shelter fire signaling bonus includes first aid supplies let's have a look at the kit so straight away i can tell you this is made by americans because it's a band-aid on the on the back here it does give you a list of what's on it so it says stuff like band-aids it says anti anti-spectacle tower towels so well that's some big word i think it basically means antibacterial wipes uh i pure them which i think is pretty much like a painkiller kind of similar to paracetamol maybe a bit stronger no i'm not too sure uh yeah blah blah blah but basically we've got everything but yeah it's definitely an american kit i think sol is an american survival company anyway i think i've seen american youtubers review this stuff so this has been open before because you can tell i can tell this has been cut open or something but we're coming in so far back so we'll get looking out so first of all here we have this soul survival guide 52 life saving tools and technologies so a little survival guide in there then we have an emergency whistle we have a little flint so this is like a kind of like similar to a lighter but without obviously the gas or the fuel source you just seem to have a little flint there to stop to it next to a night of fire or we have another compass see if that's accurate again doesn't seem to be accurate so only has three small compasses but your they all do seem to be accurate so you've got that little button compass that tiny little button compass the compass is on this keychain just got an inch there and yeah so it does seem like a decent kit for directions it doesn't have a map but you'd add your map in any way you can't really have the map for the area you're in then we have three different tinder sources so these are like little bits of stringed i think i'm not going to test these ones out i'm going to keep these others but yeah it just seems like a little bit of like a woolly kind of material again so three little tinder sauces in there you could maybe cut them enough and then you'd have you know instead of four you'd have eight i think i said just three now but there's four then we have some duct tape which is always good to have [Applause] and then before we get into the first aid supplies we have the shelter element in this kit i guess you'd call it so this is a mylar blanket that can also be used as a signaling device as you can see because it's bright orange so i will definitely add in this one to my kit i've been wanting to get something that's like this like an orangey color or a red color so it stands out from ever in the woods in the worst case happens also like my survival kit on my bug out bag i'll be adding something like that to it i'll be adding this to it so definitely good item now now let's go over the first aid supplies that are in this kit let's just get them all out first [Applause] then put this off to the side and that's everything so first off here we have some pain relief cream i think oh sorry antibiotic cream we have these are the ibura femme just two in there 200 milligrams each i think they're definitely out of date yep they are definitely out there they expired in 2015 that's who 2021 so they're out there here we have the antibiotic or ant or alcoholic wipes really big ones then we have just three different size band-aids as the americans call them or plasters as the normal people call them there we have one safety pin or as we call it a paperclip so pretty much that is everything in this kit with no items left in the bag so now i'm going to give this my rate in my honest opinion so it's definitely me missing some things that i'll go getting a second i'll add in but that said uh i spent 40 pounds on this if i didn't already mention and i feel like i've definitely got my money's worth so that purely being really that and i feel like it's got a lot of things that if i actually was just out in the uh in the bush in the wild with these items alone there's definitely some items that i feel like you don't need such as that green flashlight because this led one is quite bright and you also have a little bottom one so you have kind of that little button flashlight so you kind of have two flashlights already there's a lot of stuff to start fire here that's good as a multi-tool so you've got some sort of blade it's definitely missing some key things i loved in a second though but yeah i feel like that green flashlight and that little crappy aluminium cooking stove thing rubbish about everything else seems decent enough do you know what i mean so i'm gonna give this uh a five star rating i think i'm kind of a bit biased though because of the amount that i spent on it because i didn't win it in auction only spent 40 quid i feel like i definitely got my money's worth like i've said so i'm going to give this kit four stars so that said now i'm just going to get the items out but i'm going to add to this kit so now guys i'm actually going to go over the items i'm actually going to be added into this kit so first of all we're going to go over first aid because except for a little handful of first aid arms during that sole survival kit there was nothing whatsoever to do with first aid is in all this kit so pretty much i've already added them items into the back of this first aid kit because simply could just fit them all in and so they're all just there at the back so they're there as well already but pretty much i'm just going on this first aid kit so we've got something here like paint relief cream we've got some uh paracetamol we've got some bandages some plaster some medical tape some anti-bacterial wipes stuff like that loads of goodies so that pretty much just gives you a bit more of a substantial first aid kit for any you know any cuts or injuries you'll get out in the field but then for a more substantial wound which pretty much the most common thing you're going to do other than internally which stuff you would really need to seek medical attention it's pretty much maybe using a hatchet or a knife or you stand on a bear trap that might be a bit more present in america simply i'm just going to add in a tourniquet and a pair of medical scissors these are pretty much for the worst case scenario you know maybe if he was getting shot at these would be useful as well do you know whatever but pretty much you'd choose to turn it to tourniquet to cut off your circulation if you torn an archery an artery i always get that word wrong and then second of all i'm just gonna have a pair of medical scissors basically let's say the wounds on your leg and you want to get to it to see how bad the damage is simply taking off your pants might cause more pain and injury so pretty much you should cut around your pants like with this just to have a better look at the wound so that my insurgents pretty much had a really substantial first aid element his entire kit so pretty much it's the first elements i'm going to add to this kit so next for we're going to go over five starting so there's only one of right i'm actually you know two five starting this tire kit but it's got because it's got loads of stuff like good tinder source matches three different fire steels or feral rods whatever you want to call them all i'm gonna add as well is a little clipper lighter a little gas lighter here just so as well as all that other good stuff you've got societify you've always got the thing that i'd go to first a liar so that's all i'm going to add to the 5 starting element of this kit so now let's go over shelter so you have got this which could be used as a shell but i am going to add in a so this is a poncho but it's also could be classed as a small top i know this isn't rolled up in the best but i uh when i'm out there sometimes i use this as a pillow so this is kind of how i put it aside in my bag so it's always quick to get to so this is a poncho but you can see let me just find one of the eyelets about that as you can see has got eyelets on it so this can be made into a small a-frame shelter that's what i see most commonly used for and i've made an a-frame out of this once or twice myself so pretty much there you just have a shelter element that just pretty much will immediately stop you from getting exposure let's say it's raining let's say it's sun this the sun rays could be burning your skin and you might not want to get dehydrated simply this just takes you out of the elements straight away so shelter element i mean more so other than that you could maybe add a sleep system but that's more for like kind of like camping not really survival so then the next thing i'm going to go over is water purification because except for the actual boiling water that's the only way you have in here i'm just gonna add in a couple of items so i'm going to add in 20 purification tablets so let's say that bottle is a liter which i'm pretty sure it is it's that water bottle so that is 20 liters of water purified right there in a pinch and then the next i'm going to add in as well is a water filter straw so this can leak this can basically filter through it 2 000 liters or 530 gallons a capacity a minimum can go through this filter straw and i'm also going to add a straw with it you simply just put this onto the end there and then it's a little bit easier to drink out of it in a bowl but what you can also do if you fancy flat coat bottles it has to be kind of ones with the same thing as this as you can see there you can simply screw that on so simply there and you know it's not going to come off that so it's screwed on now it's kind of like shooting on like a lid so pretty much there is that's a 500 millimeter dr pepper bottle so that's 500 millimeters of water i pretty much be able to find stuff like this you know people leave garbage in the woods at least in england all over i hate it whenever i see rubbish i try my best to pick up and forgot enough room in my bin bag i always take kind of like a bin bag for when i go camping for all my rubbish and waste anyway so pretty much with something like that do you know you can just you know rubbish can always be used another man's trash is what one man's trash is another man's treasure so something like this a little piece of crap a plastic water bottle make it a little bit easier to contain water to fill it through that straw so you can add this into the kit or just find it around in bins or stuff like that anyway so that's all i'm going to add to pure water purification because that that now we have basically a free way to purify water so we've got boiling we've got the tablets and we've got a filter so that's three different ways to basically get water into my system so then last of all pretty much what i'm going to add into this kit is going to be some sort of tools so whatever i can i've always added some sort of saw and because of the size of this kit any amount of room i'm going to have left i'm just going to add in this buckle upland folding hand saw so we'll just initially be be useful for gathering five starting materials you know stuff like bigger pieces of wood shelter building elements that's just initially what that gives me and then with this more companion here simply this just gives me the worst case self-defense like i always say with a knife i don't condone carrying nice like i always say but i'm one of the same self-defense in this because i'm kind of thinking survival situations you know worse case meaning against animals maybe there's bears cougars stuff like that i know in england there's not really a lot of dangerous animals but uh i know in what uh not london scotland i know they're going to be adding links back into the wild i've saw something about a documentary about that like a couple of weeks ago so let's say if i was in scotland and links were getting reintroduced and one happened to come across me it might try to just avoid me but worst case scenario because that's really the only kind of big animal i can think of in england or the uk sorry this we used to defend myself against an animal in the worst case scenario i don't condone hunter that don't carry a knife like i always say but yeah so that's pretty much just going to add a couple of items that are just going to give me a massive massive advantage initial situation a dedicated knife and a saw i mean you can maybe on a hatchet instead but with this i feel like you can get deep you can kind of make the log or the stick or whatever you want to call it the better size for the shell which is why i'd have a saw over an axe or a hatchet so pretty much they are all the items i'm going to add into this kit it's not going to make it perfect there's definitely a lot of items you got in to just made this you know a kit for a good camping trip but they're just times that i'd add in if i had the choice and you know to have a situation before i'd get into that situation kind of what i'd carry in this kit if
