£1.5M Yacht Tour : Galeon 640

I've in Southampton with approved boat sales looking at this galleon 6:40 this is a very innovative boat and I'm very keen to say listens all about because there's a lot of interesting things going on this one's gonna be fascinating let's go and take a look now the innovation on this boat starts before we even get on board a bit because you can see these drop balconies and we'll see the full effect of those when we go on board but these basically they're normally flush against the side of the boat and then they power down at the push of the proverbial button and that brings you down to this as you can see it here these then drop in and there's some stools to go in and you'll see why those are there in a moment but as I say it is an incredibly innovative boat and that is just the start so we are going to board as usual by the high/low platform this of course will drop down to drop the jetski into the water all the tendo if you have a tender on there there's a crew cabin in here we are of course going to show you that and the engine room is access up on this side and on this boat there's access on both sides but as ever with galleon there's masses of options this incidentally becomes steps as this lows down these hinged and then the treads come into place to make that steps down into the water and there's a letterbox passerelle so that extends out of here so in your stern to birthed in there mate you can get ashore but this access takes us up into the cockpit you can have this if you prefer with the access just on one side and then this made a lot bigger there's even a version which has a rotating seat so this whole area here is more circular and on a swivel so you can swivel it right round and face after but this is very popular certainly in the UK and the Med and it works very well even the flybridge in fact it's while we're in this area you can extend this flybridge and make that longer if you want to this seat I particularly like because it means you can sit under the shelter over here and face out across the back of the boat which when you're at anchor is a lovely place to sit and then over here you can see this balcony and the effect that it has because it extends this whole corporate area so much all the way around on both sides and I mention those barstools and you'll see how that works in a moment we'll head on inside first of all I think and then we'll work our way around of course and do the whole boat this is a lifting window as you can see so that connects these two areas and of course this door then slides across to close that up the woodwork in this one as latter there's about ten different choices of wood you can have oak you can have worn it you can have different finishes and look at this bamboo lighting they put on here and one final thing to show you just why we're in this area this is a 55 inch TV we touch this remote control if you want to watch the Grand Prix set out in the cockpit on a sunny summers afternoon you can do it now it's a galley aft layout but I want to show you these sliding windows first of all before we get into the galley so if we go around here this one there's a little catch we just put it down and that whole section opens and now you've got that bar area connected let's go around the outside because there's one more thing to show you a lot of moving parts it's a real transform of this boat so this section just here you can lift up that locks into place and there's you bar and it's a similar story on the other side because again you've got this great big opening window we just push this little catch down and now you've got two things got fantastic through flow of air but also this seat which is a nice little area just inside the boat you can drop this backrest cushion the other way and there's a little catch on the side pull that and lift that into whatever position we want his cushions back make it a bit tidier and suddenly you've got a lovely area there looking out to the side of the boat which will work brilliant in the air Spurrier of course because anything got a great view down there but also a tanker or whatever that's another social space on board of the boat very nice right let's talk about the interior because we've barely started so there's a huge fridge freezer on this side as we come in as you expect and the galley is directly opposite in fact you can if you prefer have another bar area here with more storage there's a further fridge in there and opposite that is the dishwasher and then this of course is all storage places like this and in drawers like this for your cutlery and that is all the way around and then of course all electric cooking was this hob and the oven like so but that's a nice area it's good bit further forward I think what we're going to do is take in this main deck first of all but we've actually got access to cabins here and here so this then is your main saloon area this is actually a high-low table here so if you like drop down a bit in fact you can bring it all the way down you can see it going down there now and back up again and there's a cushion to go on that so you look like a big daybed sort of relax and chill out you can have that and over here another 55 inch TV so again touch of the proverbial button and up that goes and that means that with that down you've got a fantastic place to relax and it's like a cinema area which I like very much it's a very funky lighting this boat as well as you can see that's very nice it's the fusion hi-fi system so that controls your music and the DVDs and that kind of stuff but how about that for a cinema area and then ahead of that we've got the helm this one's got the single helm seat it's an option to have two if you prefer and you've got big windows up above for a bit more light in or of course you can shade these just by putting these over and you've got a side access door it just slides back like that and that does two things first it gives you a lot of ventilation through the bait but also at this size a lot of people will only operate so it'll just be a family using this boat they wouldn't have any crew and that means if you're at the helm here it's very quick to get out onto the side the X when you come alongside and that kind of thing let's close that back over for the moment there we go helm is here it's got a Rhema instrumentation of course you can put another screen here if you want to and then throttles twin thrusters bow and stern and we'll switch gears here and you may have noticed this which of course it will come to you is that something I've never seen on a boat like this before but I think while we're at this end we will head down to the lower deck now this is a completely self-contained cabin but it is arguably the master cabin I'll say arguably because the VIP is pretty much the same size so you can choose for yourself how you configure it but that I think that is a particular eyes caret and that's what I would have as my master if I in this boat typical galleon feature you've got these big skylights right across the ceiling and of course these have got blinds so you don't have to have the Sun streaming through if you don't want to there is an access hatch and of course also it gives you a bit of ventilation and a typical galleon features all this funky lighting that you've got at the headboard and so forth girls dressing area down here a TV in here of course this is wardrobes over here and again very galleon in the way they've finished this with this sort of suede lining and the lighting in here and that kind of thing let's have a look in here wow that's access to the air-conditioning system I think excellent they're pretty good with the access on these boats this as you'd expect has an ensuite that's in here very nice and there's lots of little areas like storage up in behind here and these are storage in here pretty much anyway you think that could be storage there is and then there's a separate shower stall of course on that side very nice another thing I like is this little seat that they put in around here so watch it tuck yourself away or put those clears that aren't quite fresh enough to get back in the wardrobe and aren't quite dirty enough to go into the laundry we've all got one of those chairs and our bedrooms admit it okay in here more storage as I say every inch used it's down here as well so that is the master cabin and then if we head on back through this area we find the guest cabins down this one now there are again of various layout options this one is a four cabin boat so the cabin that we saw at the front and then there are three cabins down here you can't have this instead with just two very large cabin so you want a three cabin all at master cabin standard you can put this one as I say is a four cabin so well look in here first now this is the one that I mentioned which arguably you could say as a master it is pretty much of that size so two really good sized cabins plus the smaller guest cabins you've got big hole window on that side say plenty of light in through there and that little square is for ventilation and this has an ensuite like so again of course a separate shower stall now if you opt for the three cabin instead of this one which is the four cabin this isn't even bigger cabin because it goes the full beam with a boat and then the toilet is up here in the corner and then you get another similar size cabin ahead but on this one which is four cabins which is amazing really no 64 foot boat you have a guest cabin here and again lots a little storage areas tucked away in places like this and a big wardrobe in here that is an inner fill cushion and that means if you wanted to double in here you can drop it into there and make that into a double bed cabin and then there's another one over on this side again very similar arrangement big hole window again so a great view out and the Wardrobe just there was that infield so again if you want this as a double you can have it and these share this to lectures the day heads there's a separate shower area in here it's a rainfall shower as you can see and your sink is here and you look and as it expect these are blinds which you can swivel so you have more privacy if you want it so that's the accommodation loads more to see particularly the deck areas it's head on around instantly when I was talking to the guys from a proof bag they're telling me about the customization in here and the amount of different things that you can do and one thing they pointed out was that this is normally would like this they decided they'd like it finished in a light finish so that's what they had so it gives you some idea of all the different options that you can have every little aspect you can customize and tailor exactly how you want it let's go right through past this 55 inch TV pass the helm and then this is something I've never seen before in a boat like this you have a window here that slides all the way up into there it's electric it's push of a button stuff and that gives you a really amazing for deck area which I'll show you in just a second but I'll just to mention as you go past they've actually put another bar area in here as well so that you can see it's all soft clothes still wish for drinks there's a fridge in here and what's in that one it's a bit more storage so that caters for this four deck area and this is quite remarkable because very adaptable and what we've done with this is put these in the two different locations so you can have it as sunbathing as we've got on this side or the center lifts up to make a table you can see that that is underneath our sunbathing cushion again it's push of a button staff but also look at the way that this one is right back against this bulkhead with a walkway around the front and this one is moved forward so there's a walkways through here and that is all controlled by these buttons so for example we can push couch front back and you can see now that whole area is moving forward and that's going into the walkway through the same as the other side I'll bring it back and that's back to where it was [Music] that's the table up-down so push of that one we'll bring that table up and you can even tilt this it actually angles SoDo you can see that when they're going down like that so you've got a bit of a slope on there so you can relax looking forward you've got it this is the glass panels over the roof of that forward cabin and you see they've got like a non-slip finish on here so if it gets wet you're not gonna slip on that and as the opening hatch there to get out of that cabin if you ever needed to offer a bit of extra ventilation then right up at the front of course you've got your anchor here and this is chain Locker and the anchor winch you can see concealed down underneath there cool let's take a walk down the outside did say we've got a lot of ground to cover I wasn't wrong was I with that door that's amazing that is transformational because it just makes the whole of this boat completely usable for anyone you'd have to walk down a side deck so you can just go straight the way through it and there's massive wipers they put on here as well so back down this side this is that side opening door next to the helm as I say back here you really appreciate that drop balcony and just how much room that frees up but basically on most boats simply doesn't exist just carry on back that's just a little Locker there next to Maggie the baggie and then we'll head on up so the flybridge now I mentioned that there is an extended version of this if you want it however has to be said I can't see why you'd need it because this is huge what they've done is they've made this into like a dining area but you'll notice that these got hinges here and here that so that that can fold over that one can fold over you end up like a small coffee table type arrangement we can have it opened out as we've got it now for dining loads our seating all the way around right out to the edge in fact if we go back down here you can really get an impression of the size of this fire ridge it's fast there's a hard top on here it's worth mentioning actually that this hardtop is carbon fiber and they've had all of the superstructure of this boat is carbon fiber and the idea of that is to keep the weight down further up so that makes a whole bit more stable bar areas on this side and you've got a fridge here and then that's just a bit of storage and you've got your sink underneath this one and a BBQ under there and if we come around here this then is your lounging area you can have a coffee table here as well if you want to and the bar just here that's very nice this opens so there's a section there to get more light into here and then your helm is up here as well of course twin helm in fact if it's three people across there massive sunbathing areas right up on the front and what is nice is that you'll see there's a mechanism here that's to allow this seat if we move these cushions out of the way to drop back like that so that when you're running down the coast everyone consider Crosse together looking forward having a chat and enjoying the ride other people of course can land on the Sun beds in front of you so everyone's there and everyone's connected let's go right to the very front and have a look down on that for like area because that is spectacular look at that it just means that you've got three really great outside social areas you've got that you've got this and then you've got your cockpit down at the back now of course still more to see we've got engines and crew cabin to go this incidentally that's a little sound system just there the fusion sound system and then these are switches for your lights and so forth let's head on down very nice very nice indeed so true Kevin access that is at the back this incident is the shower so if you've been in swimming just pulls out so you can show yourself off and that is controls for it hot and cold these are water connections so you can plug in to the marina if has the pity and have permanent supplied water rather than just using your water tanks anyway true cabin that's in here so we give this for our twist she arises now again in here you have to remind yourself this is a 64 foot boat because this for a sub 70 foot boat is surprisingly good the fact it's so good but if you weren't running with a crew and a lot of people weren't on this sized boat you could use this as another cabin or a bit of overspill so as a seat in here but this will pull out to make that into a larger berth it's about it sort of one on the half size not quite a double and then there's a permanent bed over on this side but down here you've got things like a sink there's a oven just here the washing machine is in here of course as a fridge so if you do have crew and they want to come down here and get me to drink out the fridge or make yourself something hot to eat then of course they can do it and this is all storage across the bag and just because we always do when we're doing these tours let's have a quick look behind the scenes that is circuit breakers for your 24 volt systems and then things like the stern thruster isolator switch from the battery and this side that's the galvanic isolator system and on the other side of this coming then is a heads for this area with a shower so pretty decent size again you do remember it's a 64 foot boat it's not the size of boat you tend to have permanent crew so it's you know if you were to take for example a stewardess with you to look after you when you're on couple weeks holiday this would be a great place for her to sleep or if you had a captain just to help with navigating the boat of doing a long passage for a couple of days perfect and then in here engine access one thing you may notice is this now what this is is a huge storage well that's accessed from the cockpit above and you might think well as a slightly odd shape the reason it's that shape is because there's another option you can have with this to lose that crew cab and have a slight different configuration up above and then that can be a tender garish so if you prefer to have a tender garage you can have it don't have the tender gash well then you get the crew cabin and you get this as a big storage area but of course the thing we've really come to look at in here are these engines they are a pair of the volvo penta that d13 900 and they give the boat about 28 knots flat-out and cruising around 23 knots but again there are options and you can even go as far as having a pair of v8 man engines in here 1200 horsepower each and they're apparently the top speed to 35 knots which is incredible for a big flybridge boat what else we got in here all the things like circuit breakers are across here you've got battery charging systems you've got battery management systems and again more circuit breakers and the electrics right the way across all very easy to get at these are fuel filters these white feathers either side and that is the automatic fire extinguishing system for this area there are of course fire stinkers through the rest of the boat that are manual ones big fuel tanks either side the range on this boat it's a probably about 300 to 350 miles at high speed obviously it'll go a lot further if you took the speed right batch displacement speeds and then the back of this area whereas the generator so that's powering all your 240 volt kit when you're not plugged into the shore power and you can see the detail of all the plumbing and the wiring and that kind of thing over here is a very high-pressure water pump so it means even we got all the showers running you've still got plenty of water pressure and one thing I did want to show you while we're here all these drains from areas like the cockpit the flybridge all that kind of things so any water that gets on the boat drains away now what a lot of manufacturers do is simply run it down the skin fitting in straight out the side what they do on this one is they bring it all down to a manifold that's this little stainless steel box down here and that means that you then only have one drain on the outside of the boat rather than a whole row of them it's just neater it's a small detail but details on boats like this matter I think that just shows how much they do go into there's my new share but that is an impressive engine room again for a 64 foot boat and in fact you'll see that I've actually got stunning Headroom in here which is excellent awesome said I here you can see actually from here very much more so the dingey shape of that so that's almost like the front of a dinghy because of course it comes up inside of that if you have a tender garage auction personally I wouldn't pay them platform gonna have the crew Kevin I think but each to their own this ladder is up to a hatch in the ceiling that straight out into the cockpit so first it's another way out of this area in the emergency situation but secondly it means that you can't get in and out of this engine room without going through the crew cabin excellent well I think we're about there we're not quite as looking here more access again so again it's getting to things like your plumbing and your whirring and that sort of thing very worthwhile when the boat gets a little bit older let's sit on the jet ski finish up so that's it that is the Galleon 640 a very innovative boat I think you'll agree and one that's well worth seeing I hope you enjoyed that and now you guys like the Galleon boats so I'm very pleased
