Leave a comment below the video I will use medium fine sand for this job I will let the Zippo parts tumble for 1 hour Now we clean the inner Zippo case Nice and shiny Zippo inner case The small Zippo parts are done tumbling Nice and clean now But they need some polishing Now the Zippo parts are shiny too Cleaning and polishing the lighter case Fitting the rivet to the Zippo Installing the rivet with a flat drill Installing a new Zippo lighter wick Adding a new Zippo flint Adding original Zippo cotton Adding new felt pad I will now add a very thick 24 carat gold layer Water with alcohol The metal must be 100% clean before gold plating I use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the metal I will clean the Harley Davidson emblem 2x5 minutes Then I dip it in hydrochloride acid DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME Then I clean it in distilled water Nickel plating the Harley Davidson emblem Nickel is the base layer for the gold to stick on Remember to use proper safety equipment This is the 24 carat gold solution I use Adding 24 carat gold to the metal emblem The power supply is set to 4.4V/0.4 Amp I repeat this many times to get a thick gold layer It took me many hours to reach perfection Zippo premium lighter fluid The Zippo lighter before restoration

I have been doing these kind of restorations for myself but seems like a word likes this so guys I will make a channel put my stuff up and even debunk these guys.

Fake af. No pitting/loss of material, even tho it seams heavily rusted. The cast iron emblems too turn out perfect efter a sand blast. A sand blast on real rusted cast iron would turn it into...sand.. Anyone who has ever worked with metals will see this is total hourse shit.

Anyone who has actually restored anything can clearly spot the BS. This is one of many “restoration” videos I’ve seen that basically just clean up a dirtified object.

I think every zippo is either brass or stainless and would not rust in the first place. Total crap.
