Browning M2 Machine Gun Lighter Restoration See description for more details on the lighter We will work on the lighter later Let’s clean up the Browning M2 machine gun The broken machine gun barrel got loose in the water This need sandblasting This is the air compressor I use when sandblasting I use fine glass beads when sandblasting this time And the air pressure is set to deliver 115 psi Sandblasting with glass beads Sandblasting the inside of the machine gun Very fine result using the glass beads The inside of the machine gun is very clean now Let’s try to straigthen up the machine gun barrel I have to be very carefull not to break it This is a very weak spot on the gun barrel I need to straigthen this bending crack too Now the machine gun barrel is straight Time to fix the machine gun tripod I will try to remove the rust with 7% vinegar I will leave it in the vinegar for 12 hours This one is broken I have to make a new one Adding 2 threads with 3mm tabs I’m using 3 different tabs - Easy, medium and hard Now we can attach the gun to the tripod Adding dark grey primer Spray painting the machine gun black matt Second layer of black matt spray paint Still a lot of rust on the tripod This one needs sandblasting Done Tripod is ready Now let’s restore the lighter Now I will quickly clean all the lighter parts I will try to remove all the scratches I will wet sand the lighter with grid 1000/2000 This needs sandblasting Now it’s sandblasted All the lighter parts is looking good now Butane gas valve check and cleaning Assembling the lighter My little lighter spareparts department The lighter before restoration
