Zero Dawn's 100% was SURPRISINGLY GOOD!

foreign welcome back to the channel as you can see today by the title we are going to be getting the platinum and 100 completion for Horizon zero Dawn I don't know about you guys but before playing this game I honestly didn't really know what this game was about all I knew is that you played as a main character a Louis the girl with the red hair and you use a bow and arrow and shoot machines that look like dinosaurs or animals and honestly I was pleasantly surprised at how good this game can get and how much deeper it is than just shooting machines with a bow and arrow now I'll get into more of that as the video goes on but for now let's get to the trophies and see what they are like so in total there are 79 trophies to get in Horizon zero Dawn 56 of those are in the base game including the Platinum there is another two in DLC trophy pack one which is for new game plus there are nine trophies in the trophy pack two the Frozen Wilds quests and finally there is 12 trophies in the trophy pack three the Frozen Wilds Feats and as per usual majority of the trophies consist of combat related trophies collectible related trophies uh Story related trophies and of course a few miscellaneous ones too in terms of duration and difficulty PSN profiles gives it a 3 out of 10 difficulty takes one playthrough and about 40 hours to complete however if you are going for 100 the new game plus trophies are 4 out of 10 difficulty and takes about eight hours and the DLC for Frozen Wilds as a whole is about a 3 out of ten difficulty and takes about 10 hours to complete so in total coming to around about 60 hours of game time to get the platinum in 100 I've broken it down into four steps with step one being to enjoy and explore the game up until just before the final mission step two is then to clean up everything on the map and any other miscellaneous trophies before then beating that final mission and then step three is to get all the trophies in the Frozen Wireless DLC and finally step four is to complete a new game plus playthrough on the hardest difficulty okay with all that info out of the way let's actually finally get to getting the trophies now strap in because this video is probably going to be quite a while as the DLC does add on quite a bit of trophies so get ready for a long journey all right so as soon as you load into the game without even getting to choose any new game or anything yet you get straight away put into a cutscene where we are introduced to Eloy and her father figure Rost we then get a cool title card of horizon zero Dawn where we finally are able to start a new game and here as per usual I didn't want to do it on the hardest difficulty as actually one of the new game plus trophies requires that later on but I also didn't want to play it on the easy difficulty so I just chose the middle one the default normal one is then showing that it is six years later um and Eloy stumbles down into an old forgotten cave which appears to be man-made and she finds this thing called a focus this essentially gives her second sight as it Reveals All the technology around her this becomes a main feature of the game that you'll use throughout the whole game as you are able to scan certain data points around the world and also it is used in combat when fighting against the machines we then meet back up with rust and pretty much they have been Outcast from the tribe the Nora tribe as eloy's birth was seen as a bit of a curse as we don't know who her mother is and she was just randomly born and Ross is not actually her father so they're not actually a part of the tribe and so they are left to their own devices and so this is pretty much the tutorial of this game where Ross teaches us the basic mechanics such as healing and also using uh distractions and stealth taking out machines there's also lots of looting and material gathering in this game as it is an RPG after all and with these materials it allows you to craft certain things such as ammo and then also used at Merchants later on I then got to take out my very first machine with the arrow I shot it right in the face and we killed our first Strider our first machine of the game and just after that I got my first trophy of the game followed Ross teachings learn to hunt and fight alongside Rost so that is the first Story related trophy of the game we then get introduced to the dialogue or decision making choices you can make throughout the game uh they're kind of pointless as they really do not affect the story at all they just have different cutscenes and things for Alloy to say after that alloy is desperate to try and rejoin the tribe as she does not like being an outcast and there is a way to do it by competing in the proving trial when she gets older to about 17 or 18 so we get this cool as a montage where we see her training with Rost getting better until eventually she is ready for the proving system s [Music] and so after that this is kind of where the game opens up a bit as we are no longer a little kid a Lou we're now older so we're introduced to the skill tree here which is obviously going to be used for uh trophies throughout the game we are also introduced to the notebook where we are able to find all the different Collectibles and the Machine catalog as well which is going to be useful for later on in the game with those trophies then got a little mini tutorial on melee combat in this game which isn't too advanced but it gets the job done I then got my second trophy which was first modification which is using a weapon coil or outfit weave on a modifier modifiable weapon or outfit so these are essentially the mods of this game you will get this done just by playing through the game I then got a little tutorial on climbing in this game which is fairly basic it kind of reminds me of God of War it's kind of a mixture of the new God of War climbing system and maybe a little bit of Uncharted but it gets the job done as well I then completed my first side quest of the game which there are quite a few that we're gonna have to do later on for certain trophies I then got the trophy for tearing off 10 components so essentially machines have certain components on their bodies that if you hit a certain amount of time they will tear off dealing massive damage to the enemy you should get this trophy just by playing through the game also this game does not just feature a bow as the main weapon there are also other weapon types such as this trip Caster here where you can set up traps to deal massive damage to their enemy that way as well and apply Elemental effect FX there's also bomb slings where you can shoot out bombs and many other things as well to help you with taking down machines after that I got the trophy for defeating the Sawtooth that threatened the Nora so this is another story related trophy and so after defeating the Sawtooth Eloy is finally ready to compete in the proving and unfortunately this is where Ross leaves her as he believes that he can't be in contact with her anymore once she's part of the tribe as he is still going to be an outcast but aloy pushes on and continues into the village in the village we unlock some new armor that we can use and also get a look at the other armor types that we can eventually get that improve certain effects and stats of Ali's character in The Village we also see another person wearing a focus which Ayla has never seen before and so this kind of sets up future plot points as well we are also introduced to some of the other main tribes in this world such as the osaram and the Kaja along with this main character Aaron who is going to appear throughout the rest of the game and he also sets up some major pot Point plot points later on after finishing off in the village and getting ready for the proving the next day we finally complete in the proving where we do come first and we earn our way back into the tribe and become a brave however this does not last long as we are ambushed by some flaming arrows and a group of Mystery serious people who attack everyone at the proving and so following this we get another trophy for triumphed in the proving overcame adversity and placed first in the proving so that is another story related trophy after that alloy manages to take out most of the attackers however everyone else dies unfortunately including the new friends that she has just made alloy is the next to dire however Rost does come back to our rescue however he dies as well but with his last dying act he rolls Ali off the mountain in order to save her from the explosion sacrificing himself in order to save her foreign to Black we then come back to reveal that we were in the sacred mountain of the Nora where we were healed and now the leaders of the tribe are anointing us as a Seeker in order to find these murderers that came and destroyed the village along with uncovering the secret of where Aloo was born or how she came to be and why the machines are turning evil so I'm Gonna Leave most of the story points there as I believe you guys should definitely play this game for yourselves as the story is very intriguing um there are going to be I guess a few spoilers just because of the trophies um The Story related ones but I won't reveal exactly what happens I'll just briefly mention the trophy so with that out of the way let's get down into the nitty-gritty of getting these trophies alright so first up we unlock the ability to override machines which is going to come in very useful later on especially getting around the map a lot quicker so we can get this game finished quicker I then reached my first hunting grounds which is involved in a lot of trophies in this game actually so this is the first one that I found and so pretty much these consist of doing three different challenges where you have to hunt the machines in a certain way and Achieve certain things and if you do it in the quickest time possible you'll get full marks however before I get to that I did manage to get this trophy here read for reaching player level 10. you do want to be getting quite a lot of XP throughout the game in order to get to level 50. now going back to the hunting grounds I did get this trophy earning for earning a blazing sun in all three trials at one hunting ground we do have to get this at all the different hunting grounds though for another trophy later on and at the same time I got the trophy for earning at least half a sun Mark in all three trials at 100 rounds so if you're going for all the Blazing Suns you'll get this trophy anyway so it doesn't really matter it's just a prerequisite trophy moving on I then came across my first tall neck which are pretty much the lookout points of this game and they reveal the map and the different places you can visit on the map and these are very important as they are also for a trophy and so here I actually got the trophy for scaling a tour deck and accessing its information for the first time now you do have to uncover all tornex in the game so this is technically a prerequisite Trophy and we'll get to the other ones later after that I got introduced to another point on the map that will come in handy with some trophies which are the Bandit camps so there are multiple of these throughout the map and you have to take them down kill all the enemies inside and once you've done that you'll get a trophy as well and so whilst in this Bandit cam I got another trophy which was for headshotting 30 human enemies this one you should get done pretty easily as long as you're aiming at the head which is the weak spot on the human enemies so you'll take them down more quickly and of course after that I got the first Bandit cam clear trophy which was for taking back a settlement from a bandit Clan so again you have to complete all of these throughout the map for another trophy later on just after that I got another trophy for finding my first ancient vessel so this is one of the four types of Collectibles and there are actually 12 you need to find in the game for another trophy later on I then got the all Recon machines killed trophy which is for killing at least one of every type of Recon machine there's actually only three Recon machines in the game so this will most likely be the first one that you complete after that I then found my first cauldron which these things are like mini dungeons kind of thing where you have to take out enemies get through uh certain places are doing parkour figuring out puzzles and once you get to the end you are rewarded with unlocking the ability to override new machines and there are trophies related to completing these cauldrons whilst in my first cauldron here though I got the a trophy for stealth killing at 10 machines this one you'll most likely get done just by playing through the game as stealth kills are your best friend and so once you get to the end of a cauldron there always seems to be a bit of a mini boss like a new machine that you haven't killed before it's a lot tougher than other ones once you've taken that one out you can then override and unlock the new overrides for different machines and so as you can see here after overriding the core of the cauldron I got a trophy for doing it for the first time now there are actually five cauldrons you can find throughout the map and you do have to complete them all for a trophy after that I came across another point of interest on the map which are these things called corrupted zones and so this is for defeating my first one there are 11 in total in the game that you do have to complete for a trophy later on as well I then got the trophy for getting three strikes from above or killing three enemies with this skill so you do have to unlock this skill on the skill tree first and then it's pretty much a stealth kill but you just jump at them from above I then got the trophy Victorious with the Warchief which is found the Nora Warchief and defeated the killers in the ring of metal this is a story related trophy so you will get it done by beating the story following that I got another story trophy which is fought back to corruption which is for destroying the corruption inside the Nora Valley um here is a really key thing is I was able to find a merchant which you can do once you've progressed uh through the story quite a bit and they offer you a map with all the different collectibles on it and so this is very useful so purchase this as soon as you can as on the map it will show where every single collectible is making things a lot easier and so using their map I found my first Vantage data point so this is another collectible and uh there are 12 of these throughout the map and you have to find all of them for a trophy later on as well I was also able to find my first banouk figure so these are another Collectibles and there are six of these to find in order to get a trophy as well and finally using the collectible map I also found my first metal flower and there are 30 of these to find in order to get another trophy as well continuing on the story I found one of my first items called the power cell now these are actually used for a trophy later on which is uh for unlocking one of the best armors in the game and so you can find these power cells by just as you continue through the story you will unlock these old world buildings where you can find them hidden throughout so make sure you're keeping an eye out for them as as well and so just following that I got the trophy learned of the ancient past at Maker's end so this is another story related trophy uh so here I got 10 vulnerable machine kills so Elemental damage is very important in this game with some machines being weak to fire ice and so once the element has fully built up and you defeat them then you will eventually get 10 of these kills following that I then got the trophy for reaching player level 25. so here I started up a quest line which is once you finish it you do unlock a trophy so these are a few side quests or errands that you have to complete for the Hunter's Lodge and so once you complete the mall which will be later on but this was just the first Quest I did you will get a trophy after that I decided to finish off my final tall neck and access its information so once you've overridden all five toolnecks on the map you will unlock this Trophy and once you've done that you'll see that the map has fully been complete so you can see everything on it minus the top right corner which is actually for the Frozen Wireless DLC so we'll worry about that later on but for now we revealed the whole map I then got the trophy for overriding seven different types of machines so once you've completed one or two cauldrons you'll probably have enough overrides to do this to be able to do seven different machines I then got the trophy for detaching five heavy weapons from machines during combat um so some machines actually have a gun that you can tear off and then pick up to help defeat them so once you've done this five times you'll get the trophy and so at this point of the game I decided I want to try I wanted to try and defeat all of the hunting trials to get them all done and out of the way however these last two hunting trials were very difficult this one you had to kill a thunder tour which is one of the toughest machines in the game probably the toughest one um and then the other one you had to override a ravager another tough machine and the thing is I hadn't actually unlocked uh that ravager override yet so in order to do all of the hunting trials I actually went out and did all of the cauldrons first as well and funnily enough one of these cauldrons the boss you had to defeat was a thunderjaw which after dying a few times I did manage to finally beat and with that I unlocked the override for the ravager sorry my mistake this was a different cauldron that I actually unlocked the ravager override in but you get what I mean once I defeated all the different cauldrons I had unlocked all the overrides for every single machine in the game and so as you can see I unlocked the trophy for overriding all the cores in every cauldron and this was another silver trophy down and so on my way back to the hunting ground I actually got this trophy for killing at least one of every type of transport machine there are four different types of transport machines so once you've killed those four you will get the trophy now back on track to the hunting trial I managed to defeat the one where you had to override the ravages so that means I had the one last one left which was taking down the ravages with the help of a thunder jaw so actually on this final trial on one of my first attempts at this I had to to get the blazing sun you had to get it within two minutes and as you can see it says two minutes up the very top of the screen so and it didn't count the blazing sun didn't count so I was I don't know how I must have been like half a second off but it literally says two minutes on the screen and yet I didn't get it so I must have just missed out but anyway we do end up getting the trophy for getting all the Suns at all ground so this is just by completing every trial at least once and then after a few more attempts I did manage to complete the trial in under uh two minutes I did die as I uh completed it so it still luckily did count and I ended up getting the trophy as you can see here I got the trophy blazing Suns at all grounds so this is for getting the gold medal I guess at all hunting grounds on the map this is probably one of the more difficult trophies in the in the whole entire game but still it wasn't too bad and by completing all those I managed to get some pretty cool weapons out of it too moving on from that I continued the story and got the trophy saved Meridian from its foe which is for helping Aaron investigate ursa's fate and foiled a plot against meridian so again another story related trophy I then got the trophy for cataloging every type of machine so this is purely by just scanning them with your focus you add them to your data log um so there's 26 machines in total in this game so just make sure you're scanning every single enemy you see and at the same time it helps to try and kill each type of machine as as you can see I got another one this was for killing all Combat Machines there's five of them in total so yeah just make sure you're taking out each machine you see if you can you might have to wait later on until you're strong enough to take out some of them as I mentioned before there was a certain side quest storyline that you had to complete for a trophy and here is the final mission for it that I had to beat I had to take down the this thunder jaw here called redmor he was pretty tough the big fella but eventually I was able to defeat them finish off the quest line with the obvious dialogue and blah blah blah stuff like that until eventually I got my my trophy as you can see the trophy hunted redmore with talana rose through the ranks the Hunter's Lodge and helped talana defeat redmore so that is a side quest that whole thing not a story related trophy that one you actually have to complete that side quest storyline all by yourself and following that I was able to get the trophy for reaching player level 40. again you get this just by pretty much getting XP for doing anything in the game side quests Collectibles everything so just make sure you're racking up that XP I then continued on with the storyline and got the trophy crash of the eclipse Network which was for infiltrating the eclipse battle camp and crashing the network again A Story related trophy unfortunately I didn't get much footage of this one but this was similar to the read more storyline where you had to complete this side quest to get the trophy aided the defectors for helping the escapees of uthid and the child King edemon from the shadow colleges so again just by completing that side quest storyline and then short after that I got the story related trophy discovered the truth of zero Dawn after that I then looked at the trophies and realized there was one where you had to break these uh Grazer dummies they're called here so the type of machine is a grazer and it's obviously a fake version that they use for target practice and you have to take down 23 of these around the Nora Homeland the area in order to get a trophy so this was one of the first ones I took down but before continuing with that I got the story trophy broke the siege of all mother which was for defeating the Invaders and went inside the secret mountains so another story related one after completing that I then noticed that I was near the side quest for the armor that I was speaking about before where you have to find the power cells and use them to unlock the one of the best armors in the game and as you can see once I got here I realized I only had three out of the uh four power cells so I had to continue on with the story to get the final one that I needed so I continued on with the story and got to where the next the next location of to where the fourth power cell is uh there is still a fifth one to find which you can actually access at from the very beginning of the game but I just hadn't done it yet but I will get to that later on but before getting that fifth power cell I got the trophy recovery powerful weapon explored the mountain that fell and recovered it um so this is another story related trophy so actually by getting that trophy that was the final one up until just before the mission of the looming Shadow like I mentioned at the start so this will be moving on to step two now to clean everything up so we are ready to finish the game and get the new platinum and so here I traveled to the final place where the fifth power cell was which was the ruins here which you can actually access from the very beginning of the game I just hadn't done it yet but you can find the final pow cell here and then I went on to go and unlock the armor and get the trophy as you can see I got the trophy got the shield Weaver outfit recovered in ancient technology and put it to use so what you want to do is you want to make sure that you open up the box and then you will unlock this trophy after you've put all the power cells together to retrieve it um it's actually one of the best armors in the game is it pretty much gives you an overshield and doubles your health which makes it very very useful I pretty much used it for the rest of the time as you can see here though I went up here to explore a quest but this was actually the quest to go into the Frozen Wilds DLC as you can see I found my first machine here to put in the catalog for the Frozen Wilds DLC but I knew I wanted to come back to this later so I waited until after I'd beaten the game so from there the cleanup had started so I went on to decide to finish off these Grazer dummies here and knock down all 20 or three of these to get an easy Trophy and so with the final one I got the trophy doubt for Downing 23 Grazer dummies in the Nora region so for all 23 these I just used a guide because these ones actually don't come up on the mat but they're pretty all pretty close together not space too far apart so pretty easy to get the next cleanup trophy was to kill at least one of every type of acquisition machine I realized I'd missed one which was the charger and with that I had killed all 10 different types of acquisition machines I then went on to clean up all the Bandit camps so once I took down all of these I got this trophy all six of these bandicams were fairly simple to do and you just had to defeat every enemy I then went on to clean up the corrupted zones so I killed all the machines in every corrupted zone so this was the last one out of the 11 when I got the trophy I then cleaned up all the Collectibles for the ancient vessels so I found all 12 of these these ones aren't too bad as you can see them on the map and whilst cleaning everything up and getting lots of XP I also managed to reach uh player level 50 so you'll probably most likely get this when you are doing a lot of the cleanup I then went on to clean up all the Vantage points so I found the last one here and again these ones are pretty easy to find as with the map you can buy from the merchant you can see where they are and then I went on to clean up the banuke figures so I found all of our NAX figures so again another collectible done and dusted and I was able to see them on the map so it was pretty easy to follow where they were and also I unlocked this new skill here called call Mount plus so this lets you call in a new overwritten Mount even if you don't have one available which I would highly recommend you get this skill as soon as possible it would have saved me a lot of time as you can get just call them out even if you don't have one and they'll come directly to your location every time and then last but not least for the Collectibles I found all of the metal flowers all 30 of them so this one pretty easy you can see where they all are on the map and that is it for all the collectibles in this game thank goodness for that well minus the DLC uh not gonna lie though the rewards for finding all of these Collectibles were very underwhelming you don't really get much for finding them all so pretty much after that I had cleaned up everything all the Collectibles most of the miscellaneous trophies except for one which I'll get to later but pretty much I was ready for the final mission however before doing that make sure that you have completed these 11 side quests in order to get this trophy um it is it's not technically missable as after you've beat the final mission you can replay it again and do those side quests before side quests before replaying it but it just helps to get those side quests done beforehand so with knowing that I had completed all those side quests I was ready to go for the final battle so as soon as I started up the final mission I got the trophy all allies joined given alloy's actions all possible optional allies joined the cause so this is for completing those 11 side quests so make sure you do them and so to not spoil things as you can see I beat the game unlocked New Game Plus playthrough and got the gold trophy for beating the game which was called ended the war machine threat ended the threat of the ancient war machine so that all that is all the story related trophies done now you're probably wondering where's the Platinum well I kind of stuffed up as per usual I want to try and get the Platinum when I finish the game but unfortunately I missed out on one trophy again just like I did in Jedi fall in order and the reason I couldn't just go back and get this trophy is because it was this one I needed to learn all skills and I didn't really want to sit there grinding away at killing machines to try and get this before moving on to Frozen wild so I just thought you know what I'm gonna get XP playing through Frozen Wilds so I'll just finish it off then so that leads us into step three which is the Frozen Wilds for Frozen Wilds I don't know why but for some reason they decided to split it into two separate trophy packs so one of them is for doing the quests in the Frozen Wild and the other one is for performing certain feats but to break things down to the simplest form you pretty much just have to complete everything that is offered in the Frozen Wilds DLC so everything they added all the side quests all the new stuff on the map you pretty much just have to complete everything and you will get all the trophies for the Frozen Wilds DLC so one of the first things I did just like in the main game was to go buy the maps for where the Collectibles are so this makes it a lot simpler to find where they are on the map I then started up a quest line to improve my spear as in the DLC they added the ability to apply modifications to your spear so I started that one up as that is a trophy for later on I then moved on to trying to do the tall neck in this region so I would be able to view the whole map in its entirety of the Frozen worlds just like in the main game tall neck you do need it for a trophy as well but this tour deck was quite different as it was kind of a questline that you had to you had to fix it up and get it moving again rather than just scaling it and accessing its information whilst here I also found my first bit of blue gleam which is the special currency in this DLC and there is a trophy related to buying something with blue Glen back to the tonneck though I did manage to get it fixed and moving again and then I was able to scale it access its information and get the toolneck done for this region I then continued on with the main story where I was introduced to this new enemy type called the control tower and so there are actually nine of these in the Frozen Wilds area and you have to take down all of them in order to get a trophy and you pretty much just do that by either shooting that little orange container there to blow it up or you can sneak by and then override the bottom of it and that counts as disabling it or destroying it moving on I was able to find my first animal figurine which there are six of these in total and these go towards a trophy as well I then got my first trophy for the Frozen Wilds which was for learning all of the new skills in the Frozen world so this is actually the reason why I haven't unlocked the Platinum yet is because this traveler skill tree you see here was actually added with the frozen mods DLC which I didn't actually realize as I'm playing the Complete Edition that's on PlayStation Plus so it comes with the DLC automatically so all those skills were already in the base game while I was playing which means I I unlocked those skills before actually unlocking the skills in the base game and this is the reason why I haven't gotten learn all skills for the Platinum yet as I still have a few more because I was still I was upgrading those traveler ones as well anyway moving on I managed to get my first Frozen Wilds Quest trophy which was for draining the flood from the gray catch so this is a side quest that you have to do in order to get this trophy I then found my first pigment collectible which there are nine of these you have to find in order to get a trophy and then while doing the main story I came across my first Frost claw which is a pretty tough new enemy type in the Frozen Wilds DLC and you have to defeat 10 of these guys in order to get a trophy as well so I continued on with this story where I had to solve a few puzzles which is actually one of the cool things about the new Frozen Wilds DLC is that they definitely experimented and fixed some of the mistakes they made in the main game as the puzzles are a lot better I think the combat is a lot better lots of the things in the Frozen worlds is a lot better especially the animation as well of some of the characters speaking it was very janky in the base game whereas they improved it quite a bit in the DLC but anyway I ended up getting this trophy here took the Shaman's path survived the Shaman's path and found uray's Retreat so this is a main quest Story related trophy I then found the hunting grounds of this DLC which you do have to get first place in order to get a trophy as well on my first attempt at one of these one of the three trials I had to get it in under three minutes 30 and just like in the base game I got it exactly on the time but I ended up getting second place not first place which was very disheartening um so I ended up having to come back to this uh hunting grounds a bit later on after I'd improved a bit as they were quite difficult and the fact that you had to get first place as well was pretty hard I then got the trophy for killing five enemies using the Dismount strike skill so this is one of the new skills in the traveler or frozen wild skill tree so you just have to unlock it and then you can Dismount off your Mount and actually strike an enemy and you just got to do it five times in order to get that trophy I then found the abandoned Camp of this area which you do have to defeat in order to get a trophy as well and what you have to do is take down the leader this time so the main boss and then you get a pretty cool weapon out of it which is this fight Forge fire which is like a cannon that shoots out fire like a flamethrower I guess which actually is used for another trophy later on as well anyway I managed to defeat the Bandit Cam and that will definitely come in handy later on and just following that I managed to get my first blue gleam trade so this is what I was talking about earlier with the blue gleam luckily you don't need to find all of it on the map so it's not a collectible but you do need to find enough so you're able to do at least one trade to get a new weapon and I was on a bit of a roll here I got some XP and I managed to learn every skill in the game which you know what that means that's right it's Platinum time all trophies obtained obtained all Horizon zero Dawn trophies while all the trophies in the base game anyway let's go the Platinum anyway we're not done yet though we still need to get that 100 and we've still got quite a few more trophies left so let's keep on going I managed to finally finish off the questline to upgrade my Spear and be able to apply a modification to it and so therefore I unlocked the trophy first spear modification I applied a modification to my spear moving on I then got the trophy won the weirak challenge challenged our attack at the frost figures and won so this is another main story uh questline and in Trophy related to it I also then beat a side quest which unlocked the ability to meet this character ikri at the hunting grounds where she has her own challenge at the hunting grounds and this is related to a trophy as well where you have to beat this challenge this challenge is quite difficult as you only have a certain number of arrows or ammo to use to be able to defeat uh 10 machines it is in order to get first place which is what you need for the trophy and on my first attempt I unfortunately failed so I knew that I would maybe have to come back later and try again so moving on from that I was able to get the trophy for finding all of the animal figurines in the cut so I found all six of these which is pretty easy to do being able to see them on the map and I got the trophy and so just following that I was also able to get the trophy for finding all of the pigments in the cut so I found all nine of these again it was pretty easy as I could see where they were on the map and now all the Collectibles are done for the DLC I then spoke to this character here called Varga which is very important for one trophy you have to improve these three weapons here which one of them is that fire Forge fire I was talking about earlier from the Bandit camp and then also the ice Rail and storm Slinger which you do get after completing are those first two story related trophies so once you have those three weapons she asks you to go get some parts complete some Quests for her and then she'll upgrade those three and you will eventually get a trophy so here I was getting those quests and getting ready to complete them but before doing that I went out and finished off the last of the control towers and destroyed them or overrid all of them so there are nine of them I got them all done so that is out of the way I then also completed some more side quests as well well to get those done and out of the way then finally after that I went out to meet Varga so you actually do have to go back to the main map surprisingly to get some of these parts for example you have to kill a storm bird and also kill a thunderjaw so I went out to the storm bird site first got that one done so that I could go to the Thunder jaw site to also get this part as well and so once I got all the parts ready I was able to upgrade all three weapons to get the improved versions and therefore also get the trophy also these weapons are actually quite useful and I use them later on for some other quests as well whilst also out in the Overworld I managed to get this trophy for repairing five different types of machines as there's more of a variety on the base map so I got this one done here I then also managed to get this trophy for killing 10 frost claw machines like I mentioned earlier this one you probably should get by just playing through the story is you have to kill quite a few of these and they're also at the hunting grounds trial if you want to farm them as well it after that I then went back and completed ikri's challenge at the hunting grounds us this time I made sure to make sure you get her to use her Elemental uh boastling on the enemies once they got the ice on them then try and do as much damage as you can this way you'll save a lot more arrows and get the challenge done and come first place I then tried to actually complete the hunting grounds themselves get first place in all three of those trials which like I said mentioned before the weapons that I just improved made this a lot easier as this storm Slinger does heaps of damage to these enemies as they are weak to uh electricity sorry and then similar thing with this next trial I had to complete as well lots of these enemies were weak to fire so with the forge fire it made destroying them a lot easier and same thing with the final trial as well which I forgot to mention before but you actually need to complete a certain uh story Quest before you can actually do this trial as you have to be the chieftain or of the tribe before you can actually attempt it so I got this trial done which then also led me to get the trophy all activities completed complete the tall neck bandicam and hunting ground in the cut so yep just like it says get the tournament get rid of the Bandit camp and then you have to get first place in all the hunting ground trials and you'll get this trophy done after that I then progressed with the main story and got completed the second Expedition successfully assaulted Thunder's drum so there's another main story related Trophy and then as we move further in the story we also got introduced to this new machine type called a fire claw so similar to a frost claw but instead fire element and you do actually have to kill six of these in order to get a trophy but I'll get to that later and so just after that I got the trophy conquered the mountain drove out the threat within the mountain so that is the final Story related trophy the main story related trophy and then I finally reached player level 60 which is the max level in this game which they added in with the Frozen worlds DLC so that's another trophy down almost done with Frozen Wilds after completing the main story you were also given one final side quest to take out the rest of the fire claws that got released from the mountain and so there's five exactly so you killed one in the main story and then now you've got to kill these five which perfectly adds up to six so you can get the trophy and as you can see here I got the final fire caller here and that totaled up to six and I of course got the trophy almost done almost done with Frozen wilds and also once I finish off that fire claw side quest I got the trophy for completing all side quests and errands in the Frozen wilds and that is an all nine Frozen wild Quest trophies completed and then finally the last Frozen Wilds truth hour got was for killing 15 Scorchers uh so this is the one of the first enemies you meet in the Frozen world and there's a in the hunting grounds you can actually grind them out if you still need to kill 15 of them and you can also find them at uh scorcher sites um so yeah that is the final trophy for the Frozen world's Feats DLC pack now we just got the new game plus to tackle so with that that leads us into the fourth and final step of getting this 100 which is of course the new game plus play through on the hardest difficulty so make sure you do choose Ultra hard and you will be stuck on this for your whole playthrough but you need to as you do need to beat the game on that difficulty all you have to do is be all main story quests on Ultra hard and you'll get the difficulty trophy done and you will also get the new game plus as you completed New Game Plus honestly you probably don't need to do this but the first thing I did on the ultra hard difficulty was go for all the tall necks just so I could view the map again and make sure I know my surroundings and where everything is overall I wouldn't say this playthrough was too difficult there were a few spots where I died one or two times but on the third or fourth attempt I'd most likely get it having completed the Frozen Wilds DLC as well really amps up your gear and obviously all the gear you got from completing the main game as well so it makes uh New Game Plus actually quite easy so honestly not too bad pretty easy with New Game Plus on the ultra hard difficulty and so with that I got through the new game plus as quick as I could and got the ultra hard completed which was beating the new game plus playthrough on the ultra hard difficulty and then I also just got the trophy for completing a new game plus playthrough and with that we do have the 100 for Horizon zero Dawn complete [Applause] all right so now for my final thoughts on Horizon zero Dawn whether or not you should play it I reckon I would probably give it a eight and a half out of ten I've really enjoyed playing through this game it actually surprised me quite a lot when I first started playing it honestly it was kind of boring and I was like oh this is going to be a bit of a sucky Platinum but as it went on further and further uh gameplay was so good fighting the machines it's very unique not like any other game I've ever played and also the story and the lore behind the world that you're in is so interesting and intriguing um so that's definitely the reasons why I recommend you would play it the only reason is you might not want to play is it is an RPG after all and if that's not really your thing then you're probably not going to enjoy this game now in terms of going for the Platinum I'd probably just give it an 8 out of 10. it's pretty easy to get not gonna lie all you've got to do is pretty much do everything in the game but the Collectibles are easy you can see where they are on the map uh all the side quests are fairly simple main quest all very fun I feel like the side quests really add to the story as well which makes it worthwhile and doing and the miscellaneous and combat trophies aren't grindy at all you can get them done pretty quickly the only reason I might not recommend the Platinum is the hunting trials are quite difficult especially if you're not good at the game you can search up guides that kind of teach you how to get through them or a tutorial on how to get through them as well also the game takes quite a while to beat as well it is about 60 hours just for the Platinum so it does it is time consuming but all in all I would say it is a really good Platinum uh it really surprised me magnificent how good it was and yeah I would definitely recommend you go for the Platinum yourself very underrated game now in terms of going for the 100 I would honestly probably give it a 7.5 out of 10 just half a point lower than the Platinum uh this is because it is pretty much the same as the main game in the Frozen Wilds DLC you just got to do all the quests do all the Collectibles and whatnot very similar to the base game adds more lore very interesting so definitely recommend the Frozen Wilds the only reason it goes down is because of that new game plus playthrough the fact that you have to play through a whole nother play through is quite annoying even though you can speedrun it but it was also on the hardest difficulty so that throws a bit of a spanner in the works so all in all I definitely recommend you get the platinum in the base game definitely go for the Frozen Wilds DLC trophies as well and to be honest it just looks bad if your trophy counts at like 98 so you manage as well just do the new game plus playthrough on the hardest difficulty to get that up to 100 and then you can officially say you have completed the Horizon zero Dawn 100 you'll be surprised at how good this game is it surprised me let me know down in the comments if you have played this game and gotten any trophies for
