there is more to the gorons than just being the strong Rock eating inhabitants of Death Mountain as they beside the sheikah are the closest allies to the hyrulean royal family an alliance which has been present in the series since they took goddess highly aside in the first battle against evil [Music] according to Hyrule historia the stone eating gorons made up one of the nonhuman ancient surface tribes that took part in the goddess hylians decisive battle against demise after the chosen human race was sent up to the sky of the Triforce following this decisive confrontation and goddess hylia's sacrifice the gorons remained on the surface without a permanent settlement and by the time of the hero of the skies Quest explored mined and researched the land the three gorons present in this time acted as Link's guides after he saved one of the curious gowron's gorko the archaeologists from a gang of Bo Cobb lands bearing the tribal mark the Goron Ruby on their overarm the gorons civilization already saw a great interest in everything involving digging and mining this can be clearly seen by the activities of Gollum who is digging his way to the linear ooo gorge and gautham who ran a minecart attraction despite the lack of a common ground or territory it is likely that the final encounter with gorko at Elden volcanoes fire sanctuary could indicate the beginning of Goron activity on what would eventually be renamed Death Mountain this claim can be supported by the fact that the earth temple nearby heavily resembles and possibly could be the predecessor to Ocarina of times to dongho's cavern and twilight princess's Goron mines the three dungeons share a similar layout and all of them are located halfway up the mountain trail even so at this point in the timeline the gorons seemed to have been heavily reduced in number which could be attributed to the war against demise and his minions the gorons outside of gore COEs advice did not play a central part in the final battle against gear ahim and demise even so it is likely that the relations and vaughn built between link and gorko was maintained by the returning skyloftians later aliens time and conflicts past as the kingdom of Hyrule slowly but surely grew in power after the establishment of the royal line the construction of the temple of time and finally hyrule castle the hylians urbanized on a heavy scale but despite of the changes taken place around them the gorons during the reign of king tall tiss had still not managed to remain at mount Crennel their former homeland the force era continued until eventually the volcanic mountain of Elden was named Death Mountain and the Goron settled their society deep within the mountain in a network of caves fittingly dubbed Goron City however this new homeland of the gorons had a problem according to their ancient lore the dragon volvagia once terrorized and gorged on the gorons until one fed up goron fought back armed with the divine hammer that was almost heavy enough to move mountains the Goron pounded volvagia until the dragon could eat no more the hammer referred to the Megaton hammer was left in the Fire Temple encased the dragon would ever return the Goron society flourished on Death Mountain living off the rock sirloin minded the dodongos cavern slowly but surely the ties between the mighty gorons and the hylians turned into a rock solid alliance and when the great civil war engulfed Hyrule the gorons took the victorious side of the hyrulean royal family the Goron patriarch of the time and direct descendant of volvagia slayer darunia was a sworn brother to the king of hyrule and as such refused the Gerudo king ganondorf's demand to hand over the Goron ruby for this act of defiance Ganondorf filled dodongos cavern with fire-breathing dodongos and blocked off access leaving the Goron starving faced by this imminent crisis darunia refused to listen to the young hero of times plead until he played saria's song to him resulting in a magnificent dancing performance [Music] [Music] convinced of links good intentions he tasked him to clean out dodongos cavern and when this task was accomplished the grande patriarch bestowed the Goron ruby to him little could darunia know that link would be tricked by Ganondorf to pull the Master Sword and open the gate to the Sacred Realm and the Triforce the king of thieves a seven-year long reign of terror hid the gorons hard as Ganondorf resurrected volvagia and shortly prior to Link's Awakening by rauru capture nearly all of the gorons and threatens to feed them to the fire-breathing dragon seeing this darunia who avoided capture hurried to the fire temple will in order to slay the dragon but likely died in this attempt as he had to face volvagia without the Megaton hammer luckily link managed to free the gorons claim the Megaton hammer and finally pound full vaaya to its demise outside of being great miners the garance were also renowned for their craftsmanship specializing in skills such as smiting different types of swords and hammers crafting bombs selling hot spring water and mining stones and minerals this was greatly helpful for the hero of time who thanks to the bigger on sword was able to easily take down Ganon when he knocked away the Master Sword naturally as one of the closest allies to the hyrulean royal family the Guren celebrated along with the other races of the land the ceiling of Ganondorf and thrived until he broke out of his imprisonment and sent monsters after the hylians and their allies when king Daphne's no Hansen Hyrule left the fate of the kingdom to the gods they decided to seal the land of Hyrule the gorons did not have to evacuate as they already lived at the top of Death Mountain along with a much more peaceful dragon Baloo who guarded the pearl of DIN nonetheless the tragedy of the sealing of the lowlands of Hyrule resulted in the Zora as a seeking refuge on the mountain now turned Island seeing as the gorons and Zoras had over the years shared a rivalry between each other this turn of events could not end well the gorons were forced off of the island that had been their home ever since the time of the great slaying of volvagia from this ground zero the gorons had no other choice but to either leave the great sea or turn into mobile traveling merchants in this regard it is worth mentioning that the gorons in the era of the great sea are found with big hats on the different islands of the Great Sea on goron island on the way to new Hyrule and finally in Goron village in new Hyrule we know that all of these gowron's derive from the same tribe as they all kept the tradition of tattooing the go on Ruby on their bodies in the child timeline there exists a possibility that the gorons of Death Mountain and Hyrule and the freezing gowron's at Snowhead temple in termina might have had mutual business contacts this connection is further supported by the fact that Hyrule historia confirmed that termina is a parallel world to Hyrule and at the hungry garage with the dawn Goro mask set this delink upon being delivered Rock sirloin from the mountain village the that's it it's so good that I dream about it the dango caverns finest quality Rock sirloin this is my absolute favorite blessed be this meal as we all know dodongos cavern is located along the death mountain trail in hyrule this leads us to the several century long timeline gap to the Twilight era where the gorons of Death Mountain over time became far more technologically advanced and industrialised compared to the other races in Hyrule the key to this giant goron leap was implementing new mining techniques lifts and magnets within Goron mines former dodongos cavern and often forgotten fact about the gorons is that they tend to isolate themselves from the rest of Hyrule during times of hardship and do not want or seek help from outsiders the first example here is obviously the dodongo cry and Ocarina of Time where Ganondorf blocked the entrance to the gorons food source dodongos cavern and twilit princess on the other hand the fuse to Twilight shadow corrupted the gorons patriarch darvis this incident left the gorons without a leader and caused them to further isolate themselves until Link's arrival with his courage he was able to get rid of the Twilight in that region climb his way up to the top of Death Mountain and Challenge score koron to a sumo wrestling match upon beating one of the Goron elders he was finally tasked to free darbus from the Twilight spell on his way to darbus in the Goron mines the hero of Twilight had to face Dan Goro who also was the guardian of the hero's bow but treasure that Dan Goro stated after the battle was a weapon that once belonged to the hero of the past which could indicate that the hero of time returned to Hyrule after his commitment in termina since the heroes bows first found by link and would fall temple one more thing that is worth to notice is how the Goron and highly in relation was continuously strengthened within the child timeline for instance in the Twilight era the groans came down to Kakariko village after link broke the Twilight curse from the patriarch gone merchants were allowed to sell their goods in castle town and one gone even survived impact with a molten rock was able to breathe in the depths of Zoras domain more importantly the mutual interest went both ways in this timeline since the garance were seriously concerned about the barrier blocking hyrule castle and the block roads to the town from Kakariko and hyrule field in the shadow era of the child timeline the gorons continued to thrive and reside at Death Mountain until the Helmerich king decided to move to the mountain and harass the Goron inhabit luckily thanks to the four links the Helmerich king was defeated and the gorons could once again live in peace at Death Mountain in the fallen hero timeline where the hero of time failed to take down Ganondorf the King of Thieves claimed the Triforce of wisdom from Princess Zelda and the Triforce of courage from the corpse of the hero and then influenced by the complete Triforce transformed to the demon king man dragged Ganon seeing this darunia and the other sages had no other choice but to seal Ganon with the complete Triforce in the Sacred Realm which slowly became more and more corrupted when unaware treasure-hunters as seeking the Triforce instead ended up as cannon fodder and Ganon's growing army eventually after some time Ganon launched his army of demons upon Hyrule despite the successful effort to seal the Sacred Realm completely away Hyrule after the great imprisoning war was left in great ruins being tired of constant invasions due to the hylians the gorons in the Zoras decided once and for all to depart from Hyrule to holla drum and labraina where they remained even after being visited by link or isn't as in elite between worlds Rosso a likely descendant of darunia and his is a strongly built highly in with clear goron character traits but from a mixed Hylian goron bloodline even though we have no idea how that would work but the go on history doesn't end there far from it and no we will not place it in any of the timeline branches but let us just say that tens of thousands of years after any of the previously mentioned events that a member of the Goron tribe was appointed as a pilot divine beast of Aradhana to successively support the hero in beating a calamity Ganon 10,000 years passed and the signs of calamity Ganon's return became more and more undisputable as a result king rome of hyrule called in the different tribes and ordered to select new pilots dubbed champions to steer the divine beasts in the Goron tribe this led to the appointment of the brave and gifted warrior as divine beast bauru Tania's pilot he was through this obligation that he came in touch with link Zelda and the other champions the roof like most gorons was a heartwarming but at the same time determined warrior who was kind to Lincoln Zelda but determined to fight calamity Ganon unfortunately for diruk he was never meant to face his nemesis alive since when he was about to launch his divine beast on the great calamity fireblight Ganon attacked soaked into the Beast and eventually murdered Derek with his soul trapped within the Beast Derek waited patiently for the hero's return 100 years passed until the resurrected link with help from the young goron you know Bo penetrated divine Beast borrowed Anya and freed diruk spirit to receive Derek's protection and the boulder breaker with his weapon back the grateful diruk could once again set his aim on calamity Ganon despite being freed the route was anxious of whether the gorons had prevailed through the calamity and was beyond relieved when he learned that the Goron civilization was as strong as during his lifetime and that he had a bloodline descendant you know Bo who would continue his legacy the gorons of the era of the wild remained being minors with a network of minecarts in a proper city where the greatest gorons have been carved into the rocks surrounding the settlement these include diruk darunia and gore core on suggesting a continuous line in the child timeline with link fully prepared diruk fired off divine beast Varadhan eeeh and greatly weakened the monstrosity well aware that his mission was complete and that his bloodline descendant would continue where he left diruk could finally pass on along with the other deceased champions and the king of hyrule and on that note we conclude this goron timeline despite the lack of any evolutionary changes the tribe has remained one of the most unique and beloved in the series with incredible depth and an identity the gorons will definitely reappear in this series as they are an inseparable staple that let's be honest are the best brothers link could have ever
