hey everyone mr sugano here in this video we're taking a look at yuzu a nintendo switch emulator let's get started alright to kick things off hopefully by the end of this video you'll be set up and running with yuzu but there are a couple of things i want to say first and foremost here the performance of yuzu may vary from system to system there are a ton of different things that factor into the overall performance of this emulator if you're running an older pc you might be struggling if you're running a newer pc you still might get some technical hiccups for the most part here yuzu is still fairly early on in development they have come a long way but they still have a ways to go on top of that individual game performance will vary from game to game some games work great other games not so much to get started here head on over to yuuzu.emu.org once you're here click on that download button on the left hand side of the page yuzu is available for both windows and linux and hopefully android in the future in this video we're going to go over the windows build you will need microsoft visual c plus plus 2019 and fortunately yuzu does provide a link if you click on it the download here is 24 megabytes so go on ahead and download it next up scroll down and click on download for windows x64 and this is downloading yuzu the file is 6.6 megs the first thing to install here is microsoft visual c plus plus it was the first thing you downloaded so feel free to open it up and install it it won't take that long now unfortunately after you're done installing this you will have to restart your computer so feel free to hit that subscribe button remember where you're at in this video restart your computer and then meet me back here next up open up the user installer and you will have a few different options you'll want to make sure that install yuzu is checked if you want to check out the install yuzu early access you absolutely can but i do recommend just the regular option here of installing yuzu and if you want you can have this highlighted to create a desktop shortcut after here click install along the same lines that i just said earlier yuzu does remind you that it's an experimental emulator and stuff will break once yuzu finishes installing feel free to open it the very first time you do you'll get this message that says derivation components missing click on this blue button that says the yuzu quick start guide the quick start guide gives you an awesome step-by-step way to get the files you need to run yuzu you will need an existing nintendo switch now the specific file you're looking for is called a prod key if you don't know exactly what that is you can always just google it there's a lot of great information out there once you have your keys downloaded on your computer open up your file explorer and type in percent app data and then percent from here find yuzu in the list it should probably be right on the very bottom then you should see a folder called keys paste your keys in here when you're done the keys folder should look like this from here feel free to boot up yuzu you might be greeted with this message asking about anonymous data if you're comfortable providing it click yes if you don't want to provide any click no the next step is to add your games in it works best when all of the switch games are in one folder to add your games just double click here and then select the folder where your games are located once your games are loaded up depending on the games that you have it might let you know the compatibility for example i have ultra street fighter 2 here and says the compatibility is great before you start playing a game head into emulation here go to configure and we'll want to configure a few things the very first thing i like to configure here are the controls just make sure your controller is set up correctly by default the controls are set to keyboard and mouse but i do have a name the doe pro 2 controller plugged in so i'm going to use that and if you take a look here it is coming up as an xbox 360 controller and that is absolutely fine just make sure all of the buttons here are working correctly and mine seem to be for the general settings you don't need to change anything here you can go to the ui and flip it over to dark mode if you'd like to but aside from that you don't need to change anything at all on the systems menu you don't need to change anything here either on the cpu menu you don't need to change anything here either on the graphics menu if you are running into issues you can try changing it from opengl to vulkan but i do recommend checking out opengl first and seeing how that works if you're running into issues with both opengl and vulkan you can take a look at this option here it says gpu decoding you can switch it to cpu decoding and see if that helps it probably won't but it might be worth a shot on the advanced tab it is set to accuracy level high you can put it at extreme if you have a really powerful pc and think it might be able to handle it but more than likely you can leave it at high if you are running into some issues you can try normal to see if that helps and last up here the anisotropic filtering by default it's set to default you can change it if you want but yuuzu says it will break things so it might be best not to change this one either aside from that that's really about it feel free to boot up your game and see how it runs just to prove that yuzu's working here is ultra street fighter 2 up and running you can see everything is running absolutely fine the game is actually playing really nicely now for games that support amiibo you can go to file here go to load amiibo or just press f2 locate your amiibo files and load them up unfortunately this game doesn't support any now in today's day and age some games do receive updates ultra street fighter 2 is one of them if you have update files you can install them to your game all you have to do is click file install files to nand locate your update file and click open and it will let you know what update file it's found from here just click install once you've updated your game under the add-ons column you will see where it says update update 1.1.1 so i'm good to go now the game's been updated and there's nothing really left for me to do here but anyways that is all i've got for this video hopefully you're able to get yuzu up and running and hopefully you're enjoying some nintendo switch emulation let me know which games you like to emulate on the switch in the comments below and if there's another emulator you want me to check out let me know in the comments below if you like this video leave a like if you didn't like this video
