hey everyone mr sugano here in this video we're taking a look at ryujinx and nintendo switch emulator let's get started alright to kick things off if you're looking at emulating switch games on your pc ryujinx is a great choice just like yuzu the other switch emulator performance of ryujinx will vary from system to system there are a ton of factors that play into the overall performance of this emulator if you're running an older pc you might not have the best experience if you're running a newer pc you still might get some technical hiccups this emulator is still fairly new they're still working through it they've made some great progress but they do have a ways to go on top of that game performance will vary from game to game some games work great other games not so much some don't even work at all to get started here with ryujinx head on over to ryujinx.org i'll leave a link in the description below once you're here click on that download button over on the downloads page you can see ryujinx is available for windows and linux at the time of filming it's not available for apple but it will be in the future i don't see an android icon here which is a bit of a bummer i want to see this ported over to android so for the purposes of this video i'm going to be installing it on a windows machine so i'm just going to click this windows button here it's currently version 1.0.7047 when i click on this it'll bring up a download window the size of the file is 47.2 megabytes once the download finishes extract the file and then open up ryujinx if you've done everything correctly so far you should have a couple of screens that look like this one is the console the other one is ryujinx from here click on file and then open ryujinx folder from here open up the system folder and double check to make sure you have prod dot keys in here this is a very important file if you don't have product keys in your version of ryu jinx you will have to supply that if you do a quick google search for product keys there are a lot of sites with a lot of great information here the next thing to do in reutings here is to install firmware you will have to provide your own to install it go to tools install firmware and then install a firmware from xci or zip if you're not quite sure on what exact firmware you need you can always do a google search to see what firmware works with ryujinx if you type in ryujinxfirmware there are some resources that might be helpful so i do have my firmware ready to go and installing it is really simple and straightforward you just select the firmware file and you're good to go if you don't get this installed firmware confirmation screen you might have some issues with your firmware just double check to make sure your files are okay so from this screen here it's asking me if i want to install firmware 11.0.1 and the answer here is yes at this point here we're almost ready to launch a game but there are a couple of things we still need to configure go to options here go down to settings and the very first thing we're going to do is go into input and configure our controller so it says player one configure go on ahead and click on it the default control method is set to keyboard if you have a controller you can select it here now for this video i am using an 8bitdo pro 2. it's coming up as an xbox 360 controller but that is absolutely fine as long as the button mapping works i am happy also this is a matter of personal preference but it is set to joy con pair i like setting it to pro controller mapping controls is pretty straightforward just click the direction you want to map and then hit the corresponding button on your controller when you're all done with that go on ahead and click save back on the input screen here just make sure that enable docked mode is checked if it's not it might cause you a headache later on for system here you don't really need to change anything on the graphics menu you can change a couple of things i don't necessarily recommend it but you can give it a shot on an isotropic filtering it is set to auto you can crank this if you'd like but it might cause some performance issues that might cause things to break the resolution scale you can crank this as well you can crank things up to 4k if you'd like i don't necessarily recommend it but you can try it if you want now for powerful systems out there if you have a powerful system you've cranked your resolution scale you're not running into any issues with emulation you can try going into system here and changing the memory manager mode from host unchecked fastest unsafe to host fast or even software this will increase cpu load i don't necessarily recommend doing it but you can try it out maybe you'll surprise yourself if you go into graphics here as well if you don't have a powerful pc you're struggling to run reujinx there's not really a whole lot you can do ryujinx is very limited but you can try something here this might work it might not the graphics backend multithreading is set to auto you can try forcing this to on or you can just try turning it off i don't know if this will help but maybe it will fingers crossed but aside from that we're pretty much done in the settings menu so i'm going to click save here and now it's time to load a game to add your games into ryu jinx go into options here and then click settings i know i just had you close this out but there is one last thing we have to do so in the game directories here go to add and then add in where you keep your nintendo switch games after that click save and your game should populate in this list once your games are populated feel free to open them and play them now if you do have any updates you want to install on your games or dlc if you have those files you can use them just right click on the game here either go to manage title updates if you're updating something or manage dlc if you're adding dlc for ultra street fighter 2 here i do have an update file so i'm going to click on manage title updates and from here i'm going to locate my update file by default it does say no update but i'm going to click add and then i'm going to select the file that i have to update so it is one file up i have it in this folder here and this file is my update file it's coming in at 42.8 megabytes it lets me know it's version 1.1.1 from here i'm going to click save the update takes no time at all now you can see my game is updated it said version 1.0.0 now the version says 1.1.1 so i'm pretty much good to go my game is updated now let's launch this game and play it so i'm just gonna double click it and just like that you can see ultra street fighter 2 is now running on ryujinx and just for the record i do own a copy of this game so if we take a look here it is running at full speed which is amazing there's no issue if you take a look at the bottom of ryu jinx it will let you know the frame rate so right now it's sitting at about 60 which is relatively perfect so there's not much of an issue at all this game is highly compatible it's partially why i showed it off partially because i absolutely love this game so you can see the game is running it's not having any issue whatsoever this won't be the case with every game out there some games might not work there is a game compatibility list for ryujinx i'll drop a link to it in the description below feel free to check it out at the end of the day here ryujinx has come a long way it's still got a ways to go but they're doing an excellent job with this emulator if you're having issues with ryujinx you can always try out ryuzu it's a little easier to set up i do have a tutorial i'll leave it in the description below feel free to check it out i encourage you to check it out i do recommend checking out both emulators and seeing what one works for you best anyways that is all i've got for this video let me know your thoughts on ryujinks in the comments below what switch games do you like to emulate and if there's another emulator you want me to take a look at let me know in the comments below if you like this
