and a non-tuner monster and their levels have to
equal the level of the synchro monster you want to summon, then you put it on the field. - But what's a tuner? - Next, there's XYZ monsters. Take two monsters that are the same level and you overlay them. The two monsters' levels
equal the monster's rank and ranks and levels are
two different things. XYZ materials on the
card aren't considered cards on the field, but it doesn't come up
that much I promise. - How do you overlay? - Next, there's pendulum monsters Because they're actually
monsters and they're spells and they don't go to the
graveyard, they go face-up in the extra deck. Taking the scale numbers on the left and right side of the card. They used to have their own zones but now they're considered a different thing. And then there's Link monsters. Really simple, I promise. They have these link
ratings that don't have defense points, they
can't go to defense mode, and their link rating
determines how many extra monster zones you can
