You will NEVER get Discord Partner, Here's why!

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but most of you will never be a Discord partner you won't get the partner hoodie you won't get that succulent free Nitro and you won't get that special badge to tell people that you spent every free second on a chat platform however after trying to get partner and failing miserably and extensive Googling I can help you increase your chances of becoming partner follows you need an eight weeks old server you need 500 members you need 50 active Chatters per week 100 visitors per week two-factor authentication for Server moderation and you need 20 Week 1 retention analytics now what does all that gibberish mean well week one retention analytics are basically what percentage of new users come back to chat after a week of being on the server if you meet these requirements you can submit your application newsflash you probably got declined in fact I'm almost certain that you got your partnership application declined I bet that if you didn't get a partner you have to subscribe that was super cringe and hurt me to say anyways to better understand why people get their Partnerships declined it's a good idea to see what those partnership badge holding cucks did so after scouring pages and pages of saferwork e-girl Chit Chat servers and other partnered servers there is a clear trend of what characteristics a partnered server has the first characteristic is that the server is unique it actually offers something discord's partnership program is basically like a stamp of approval from Discord and Discord wants partnered servers to be the beacon for newbies to flock to if you can't figure out what chill anime server you want to be on well that Discord partner badge shows the best of the best now at this point on Discord almost every single thing you can think of in a span of five minutes has already been done I hate to burst your bubble but Discord doesn't want to partner the 90th anime server Discord wants to partner a server that pushes the boundaries of discord's presence on the internet if you want a good chance of becoming partner your server needs to be a unique and fresh idea that people haven't done well on Discord the second characteristic of a partnered server is the outside presence of the server's Community discord's main goal is to get more people on its platform to gobble up those Nitro subscriptions if your Discord server is a place for your large community outside of Discord to chit chat on then you actually have a pretty good chance of getting partner for example if you made a large Facebook Pokemon go Community for your large city organizing on Discord would bring your community to Discord and make Discord happy because it's free advertising another form of an outside presence is being a content creator if you create family friendly and brand friendly content Discord would absolutely love to partner with you unless you are beluga Discord hates beluga and refuses to partner with them so hopefully you understand what Discord is generally looking for in partnered servers now I'm going to explain why most people don't get partnership even if they have a partnerable server the top reason why people don't get partnership is poor moderation in fact I got my partnership application declined for poor moderation from what I gathered Discord wants your server to be so heavily moderated that it's against the rules to talk just kidding Discord wants you to have a very strict moderation team that basically dedicates their lives to making sure your chat is clean what is a clean chat in discord's eyes well minimum swearing no offensive memes and minimal offensive conversation basically take all the fun banter out of Discord and that's the perfect server I can't call a teenager a little for sending me the phallus of the one-piece guy your mod team should also be substantial enough so that every single hour there is someone actively moderating chat sounds like working your unpaid moderators to death oh and your staff they can't be edgy they have to be the biggest role models on the platform in close second place the reason why people don't get partnership is because a poor Community engagement Community engagement is focused on new members and old members for new members you need to make them feel welcomed and basically try to convince them to join your community this is actually a good thing to have because it helps you grow your server and also shows Discord that you are wanting to continue to build your community welcome new members personally by saying hi to them in chat make it easy for new members to understand what the server is about and make it easy for them to to contribute to conversations this also helps with increasing your analytics and discord's partnership requirements are a bare minimum like bottom of the barrel bare minimum but having a good new member onboarding system will boost those numbers and discord's gonna see that you know monkey brain sees big number and monkey brain gets happy and gives partner but monkey brain doesn't like number go down so make sure to apply when your server is growing and not dying now have you ever played a game that got boring after a week well Discord doesn't want your server to be like that you need to keep your current and old members entertained with constant events and other things going on doing giveaways that's nothing having art contests gaming nights Community puzzles and other crap that I honestly will never participate in will make it so that your Port members will remain glued to your server you are basically committing psychological incarceration you fiend now the third reason why your server won't get partner is because of risk Discord doesn't want to partner with a server that will generate any sort of controversy or brand risk remember how Discord looks for family and brand friendly content creators well Discord will not partner with a complete edgelord content creator that harasses other people Discord will also not partner with communities that pose a threat to discord's guidelines so here are two very good examples that you probably know one Beluga Discord is reluctant to partner with beluga because beluga's Community does consist of a lot of people who are under discord's minimum age of 13 years old and Discord would look like a complete idiot partnering and endorsing a content creator that brings an audience that is not allowed on the platform and second you might not have heard of this person but it's uh me no text to speech a Discord would be reluctant to partner with me because I talk a lot about better Discord and other Discord client modifications I'm a massive advocate for people customizing their Discord experience despite it breaking the terms of service once again if Discord partnered with me and I am a person that showed people how to break the terms of service Discord would look brain dead to the general public like the Articles would be hilarious now if you don't dabble in the use of tubes then you still have to think about risk on your server your server should be non-toxic and stable you know your server shouldn't just magically disappear the the second you get partnered Discord considers partnered servers as role models for other community servers if your server has other people tearing each other apart then you won't get partner a friendly relaxing and welcoming environment is right up discord's alley with their vomit inducing Zoomer advertising the fourth and final reason why your server won't get partnered is simply luck becoming a Discord partner requires a lot of luck when a staff member goes through your application there will be some inherent bias and luck in getting your application improved sometimes the staff member going through your application might not just fully understand what makes your server unique heck they might hate the content your server is focused on Discord staff try to be as objective as possible but there will always be some sort of bias when evaluating your server furthermore sometimes the staff member just needs to rush through 15 applications before their lunch break and unfortunately they just don't spend enough time on your server to figure out what's special about it I'm going to be positive for a nice change of pace if you truly believe your server is Discord partnership material then it might take a couple of applications so don't give up and keep trying alright enough with the happiness and back to the Bleak reality of the Discord partner program you might ask why is Discord so harsh about their partner program well to put it simply Discord needs to keep the partner program exclusive because the Rarity of being partner makes it valuable imagine if every single server had partner discord's partnership program just wouldn't be special and wouldn't mean anything anymore and of course it's time for the business talk yay Money numbers so discord's partnership program cost a considerable amount of money you first have to consider the cost of employing people to maintain the program you need to hire employees to go through the partnership applications employees to make sure that the partnered servers are actually following the rules and employees to assist partners with any issues that's a lot of people and chances are Discord is being cheap and has very little people working on this kind of the reason why your partnership application will be rushed you also need to consider the Lost cost of the partnered server perks Discord Partners get better server infrastructure and server boost level 3 for free that means that it costs Discord more money to run your partnered server to be fair people will still boost a partnered server for those pointless cash grabs server boost perks or whatever role it is now predicting the cost of all that stuff is far beyond what my peanut brain can think of with the three hours I have to write this script properly so I said that however I can tell you some numbers on how much it costs Discord to send out the free merchandise to Partners so generally speaking each partner will get their welcome to Discord partner box that contains a pin some fire kindling and a hoodie all those items cost money to design produce ship and organize I'll slowly be focusing on the production cost to start the pins require a custom mold for each new shape that Discord makes I went on a local website and went through their process of ordering 500 pins and it ended up being about a thousand bucks which is two dollars per pin the fancy paper and packaging that Discord does is probably about two to five dollars per partner package that's a bit of an overestimate but the hoodie is usually a premium version of a Bella in Canvas OR Gildan zip-up hoodie which is about 20 to 30 dollars per blank hoodie then that hoodie is embroidered on the bag with a large partner logo and has printing on the front add in the extra large custom drawstrings and the unit price of the hoodie is probably about forty to fifty dollars therefore the whole package itself can range from fifty to sixty five dollars assuming normal shipping prices now sometimes Discord can be a little cutie and offer a holiday gift box for partners it contains two pins a mug a drywall cookie some hot chocolate mix and more stuff to put into the recycling the mug is most likely a print-on-demand option or something curated by Discord staff and is about 25 dollars per mug the dry Bland drywall cookie and the hot chocolate mix are probably worth two dollars in a McDonald's Sprite so adding everything up the holiday box is between forty to fifty dollars and a McDonald's Sprite altogether so this means that Discord is basically wasting a hundred dollars for each partner and we didn't even consider the cost of employing people to organize the production of merch and the logistics of shipping so this means that your server should at least provide a hundred dollars of value to Discord for this to be even worth it for Discord that was actually a lie Discord probably doesn't worry about the losses of the partner program but they just can't overspend so it's like an advertising budget at the end of the day and Discord hopes that your server just doesn't die and continues to actually Supply new and fresh members to Discord I'm turning the lights down because now Discord partner might seem like an amazing program and almost everyone wants to be in it however there are a handful of reasons why you don't want to get that shiny partner badge that's quite dramatic But first you should know that building a partner Discord server takes a significant amount of time I would easily say over 100 hours just to have everything in place you need to consider the time making the server the time growing the server the time curating staff the time creating events and my favorite the time solving server disputes and crap spending time solving all the server drama and dealing with crying children is a massive waste of time it's painful seeing people complain about who's the hottest character in OverWatch or what's the true lore behind gentian impact and to be completely honest person to person here you might be better off spending that time getting a job and just buying Discord Nitro and discord's merch at the end of of the day you get something comparable to partner but you also get work experience that you can use once you get old and don't care about Discord anymore the second downside of being a Discord partner is the increased stress while using Discord you spent so much time getting partner and it would suck to lose it so now Discord will become less about having fun and will act like a completely unpaid full-time job third when you have that Discord partner badge it feels like a flex symbol however it surprisingly makes you a target for a lot of Bad actors on Discord if people don't like you or anyone on your server they would love to troll your servers so hard that you'll lose partner it'd be hilarious for them and partner Discord servers and accounts are worth a lot on discord's account reselling gray markets so you will guarantee to be exposed to more scams than a normal Discord user and those scams are more sophisticated and if the scammers get your Discord account they might promote some scam on your partnered server so you know not very good now finally if you get Discord partner you might feel some selfishness or remorse in your ruthless journey to get partner you had to make your staff work harder you had to moderate your servers so much that it's less fun for everyone involved there's no more goofy banter your staff don't get any benefits of partnership and while these feelings can vary or just not exist at all depending on your age and your empathy it's important to consider what sacrifices are made to get a dinky little badge a hoodie you can feasibly make yourself in an unlimited supply of free Nitro I think people glamorize Discord partner too much and it's important to consider whether or not you want to turn your free and enjoyable Discord experience into a regulated and mundane job anyways hopefully this was insightful and once again thank you to World of Warships
