YOU CAN'T TRUST THIS GAME - Cooking Companions

welcome back for the first time to cooking companions now a lot of people have said Eddie you need to play Doki Doki literature Club but I've already played that game a long time ago when it came out and I thought it was amazing so there's no point in me replaying a story game I've already played however I saw that cooking companions what happened what happened to the happy music I'm just going on help us what happened to the Happy music this turned all demonic and [ __ ] in the menu [Music] we're back with the happy music um okay enough said uh this is definitely not what it looks like and I'm sure it's gonna get really really dark and you guys already know I love story games like this I don't know if I'm gonna make another episode on this that's completely up to you guys if you enjoy walk was brutal but this cabin is amazing where these guys all right let's see full kitchen running water it literally has everything finally a place I can read a good book in peace I can't wait to oh we'll have to go out to get what we need there's a fireplace for making stew so uh let's gather up some firewood okay leave that to me little guy I'll tidy up in the cabin um need to save Mariah from dying due to this dust foreshadow hey allergies are nothing to joke about Karen oh her name's Karen dog oh [ __ ] okay I don't trust her she's not dead yet pipsqueak calm down oh yeah I hate her already um thanks Anatoly and Annette and Natalie oh that's his name that's this Fool's name anatolio I think I'll go foraging outside with over 450 mosses 900 fungi and 70 slime molds there's bound to be Treasures up here uh Jesus Christ roughing it is fun and Natalia knows so much about edible foods we're in good hands um is there unedible Foods I think the slime molds will be the most delicious most certainly not what about the fungi do you even know which ones are poisonous anatolio I um I can figure that out you can be the canary in the coal mine anatolio I'm not ending up a corpse here keep both your eyes open little guy plenty of wolves and brown bears around and they they won't be a problem I write up on 10 different techniques to incapacitate them now number one is um Lee oh yes sorry Mariah um I got carried away again um I'll help and Natalie look for food I'm definitely better at warding off wild animals if we come up empty-handed we can always eat some of the food we brought you mean the emergency rations bad idea chump hey Anatoly and Mariah getting food Gregor is gathering the firewood that makes you our designated Chef you talking to me [ __ ] everyone's looking at you expectingly you nod all right okay I'm a part of this too I didn't realize um very excited to try your cooking all right everyone let's go to work where there's still sunlight later oh no I'm stuck with Karen Mariah and Natalie and Gregor the three exit the cabin leaving you and Karen alone I think a Natalie put the supplies in the kitchen thanks for helping out with the cooking do you have any experience making meals uh um I'm gonna I'm not gonna say nothing I'm just gonna chill don't be looking at me like that if you're a mute you can tell me now I'm [ __ ] do I do I sound like I'm mute yes I am oh she's so annoyed right now you're pretty bad at lying we were talking earlier remember yikes looks like lying doesn't work on Karen yeah unfortunately not um looks like Karen will remember that God damn it I didn't know I was making choices I got dusting to do in the living room no need to respond chump by oh Jesus Christ okay you know what I'm doing everything possible to piss her off Karen heads to the living room and starts dusting a little bit you decide to look around the kitchen to find the ingredients for the meal tonight you never know what you find around the cabin Clues and secrets may be revealed by searching an area more than once why not give it a try what area do you want to search first okay let's see let's look in the cupboards and see what's in there the first few cupboards are empty and Natalie must have put the supply somewhere else okay uh let's look behind the wood pile there's nothing but cobwebs back there so my favorite food crickets thankfully no spiders yes yes yes big yes I like that all right the drawers check out the drawers on the left just some dirty knives all right well what else do you want me to check out I've checked everything you checked the cupboards again hmm just some moose turds and cobwebs what are moves towards mouse that was Mouse that had an e at the end wait but uh stop [Music] I'm a total idiot I'm an uh I'm drinking my coffee man oh no let me check the drawers again you check the drawers above the mouse hole some kind of mold is growing on this one maybe Karen will find it appetizing ah stupid [ __ ] behind the wood pile you let the wood closer uh this is just a pile of Norway spruce okay how many times do I have to check the same [ __ ] let me check the cupboards underneath the sink I found a dead mouse oh nice dude this would be a great gift to give to Karen a hundred percent that sounds like an amazing gift for Karen I think she's gonna love me if I give her that it's gonna be such a satisfying gift the unboxing experience is definitely gonna be incredible the Norway spruce won't burn as hot as Vlogs from the oak tree these would be useless during a snowfall okay um the drawers you check the drawers above the wood pile something's making it difficult to open you pull it open with all of your might [Music] catches it's time uh trumpet sound off never fear onion is here oh I am cornbread I will rise to the occasion okay narrator raspberry potato sure this counts as kidnapping what we're the trumpets of the trumpets white talk with those boring humans all they have to give you is drama you ever go on Twitter to celebrate here's your first recipe card roasted eggplant with Sesame pomegranate meat free why I like meat oh dude I did find that dead rat easy you unlocked your first recipe if you ever want to talk just come to the drawer trumpets out all right not gonna lie that was kind of adorable cabbage rudely slams the drawer closed you wonder if you if what you saw was real wait a minute for real you're slightly worried about what this means for your mental state but only slightly now I must have had some really strong mushrooms before I walked in this cabin because that [ __ ] don't happen oh God hey did you find the supplies you shake your head that [ __ ] I didn't Natalie lied he actually put them in the bedroom idiot here you go you got the emergency supplies Ching going okay disappear [ __ ] you start a fire with some of the wood and get to work on cooking dinner tonight's entree vegetable soup in a large saucepan over medium heat you heat some water with potatoes carrots and celery in it 15 minutes later you drain the pan and set the vegetables aside placing some butter in the saucepan you melt it over medium heat throwing some chopped onions in you could get about 10 minutes the onions are tender and translucent perfect you next mix in some flour salt pepper and heavy cream into the saucepan adding the vegetables to the mixture hours pass then I burnt the whole thing oh hey what's up dog oh we're back more firewood than you'll ever need we found some wild sorrow because that maybe tomorrow we'll have a bigger Bounty and Natalie's burying the lead we saw a red deer um Mariah spotted it he likes her they like each other they're into each other not like that but you know what I mean all right yeah that's great anyway killed 17 spiders today while you were out cooking a deer that she screams too much this should come it's no surprise there's over 160 species of spiders here oh wanna 160. don't worry Mariah I'm sure they were all in the bathroom or something no almost all of them were near the couch I don't think that's I'm portraying her right I was going to sleep on the couch that's where 16 of them were dude Karen sucks I'm not sleeping on that couch then hmm and there's only two beds in the bedroom hey don't get any ideas Gregor you opportunist you you saw that opportunity and you immediately immediately took it upon yourself to say those things don't sweat it Mariah I can sleep anywhere so I'll sleep in the rocking chair oh there okay well you were just trying to be nice I'll sleep with one eye open just in case any of them swarmed the couch thanks Gregor up Karen and Natalie you two take the bedroom what about me thanks big guy chokes on you Gregor I always plan on taking one of the beds hey Natalie I soar louder than a lumber yard oh God she's one of those sweet dreams chump you turn back to your bubbling vegetables too and try a bite oh that looks delicious actually this tastes pretty good it's missing meat you cooked vegetable stew chingon you set the table and ask everyone to dig in oh nice oh wow this smells delicious thank you you must be a world-class chef Karen takes a bite come on you're blushing say something nice it's bland as hell you're Bland as hell [ __ ] tastes like every other vegetable soup I've ever had so generic I could probably use some meat next time if yes thank you gross for a side dish oh we could make some bread and utilize the fragaria vesca also known as strawberries for some Jam nobody cares pip squeak everyone laughs at Karen's polite ribbing nothing makes you happier than cooking great meal for friends except for Karen this could very well be the best day you've ever had you go to bed stuffed all right all right all right I wonder how this is gonna go because so far it's friendly I'm curious how this goes from friendly to dark that title don't lie hey you up how'd you sleep I was so warm last night I didn't even need a blanket Mariah is my favorite so far what time is it about one hour until dawn well YouTube piped down trying to sleep over here oh God I stand her Gregor the birds outside aren't making much noise yet we didn't bring many supplies remember better go get our head start on Gathering food I honestly can't see the trees outside right now Gregor did you see any bathroom toilet bathtub and a cabinet underneath the sink open the cabinet uh yes let's check it you appear into the cabinet um you found a spider oh God it's pretty small but it's hairy it's far too gross to even squish [Music] why did my mouth just water then stop there's a note buried in the spider web what is that good day we have received a fair number of complaints from ruslana or Ulrich over her perceived harassment of her nephew Marco russlana alleges that you have been frightening him and are causing a public disturbance when traveling into town her list of complaints are as follows erratic shuffling sneering at Marco in an attempt to intimidate or frighten babbling incoherently we understand that this is by no means illegal but humbly request that you stop immediately go greet them oh wait a minute I wanted to look in the mirror okay I loaded the save again because it looks like if I inspect the black markings and ends the bathroom sequence and I didn't really get thought maybe something would happen if I kept clicking on the mirror but it didn't we're back D Knock It Off Mariah why she's laughing it's pretty rare to be scared of one oh God wait hold up what happened it's it's not who knew the big guy would be so scared of [Music] shut up you don't understand I don't think anyone understands Gregor it was just a marmot Gregor not a monster Mariah laughed so hard that your ears ring [Laughter] sorry I [ __ ] love her man she's such a little crackhead tears are rolling down Mariah's cheeks she's just laughing dude she's laughing so hard she's about to hyperventilate I stopped Mariah from hyperventilating now just let her laugh absolutely not one less mouth to feed right [Music] okay you don't get it it's uh it's pretty personal uh then please explain big guy Gregor looks incredibly uncomfortable let's leave him alone we found some raspberries and elderberries near the cabin quite the selection of berries we also found more wild sorrow is this going to be enough for a good meal everyone is looking at you for an answer um you decide to do an inventory of all available ingredients it takes you a while but you decide your specialty cabbage rolls cabbage rolls yeah what about the meat can we please get some meat in my food you first bring a large pot of water to boil you let the Cabbage leaves boil for two minutes draining the pot onto the sink in a medium mixing bowl you combine some cooked rice onions and egg salt pepper along with some tomato sauce you use your hands to mix thoroughly and decide to wash your hands after it won't come off dividing the rice mixture evenly between the Cabbage leaves you then roll them up and tie a string around them so they stay in one piece I love the descriptions of how they make the food because it actually sounds appetizing and I want to eat this you place the cabbage rolls in a large Skillet over medium heat pouring the rest of the Tomato mixture over the top covering it you bring it to a boil um you reduce the heat to low and let the cabbage roll simmer for about 40 minutes being sure to baste it with liquid mmm bruh that looks delicious you've got cabbage rolls Mariah looks optimistic Karen looks skeptical and Natalie looks curious and Gregor looks thrilled nice you watch intensely as everyone takes the first bite oh God here we go again what's Karen gonna say this time that's pretty darn good what Karen excuse me wow I could eat the whole batch myself I think the vegetable stew tasted better but I'm loving how tender the cabbage is the sauce is pretty red um did you use fresh tomatoes for it it really adds to it spoon some of the liquid on top of it you'll think me later incredible it's definitely growing on me thanks again for cooking this really was something special everyone leaves the dishes behind for you to do up [ __ ] no one helped me with the dishes you serious not happening you settle in and go to bed everyone goes to bed full tomorrow will be another great day oh boy I have a bad feeling the way it switches days it starts off all innocent and [ __ ] man I don't trust this game good morning everyone me in the morning she is definitely me in the morning again Gregor can't you just let us sleep in not today why storm clouds are gathering outside we need to find some food before it begins to downpour Gregor you're overreacting we have enough food to last us a while enough food I thought we used most of the supplies for last night's dinner he's right Amelia made with delicious but he used a lot of what we had Gregor's also correct precipitation is unusually high in this area with many areas being high risk of flooding and if things flood then there's gonna be a lot of water and less food and all we're gonna have to do is drink water do you want to have water for the next three and a half days okay um it'd be foolish not to go out and look for tonight you really think it will blood thankfully the cabin is on high ground but that doesn't mean we're safe from flood waters it's always a possibility so it can't hurt to be prepared you're losing it Gregor Karen there's nothing to worry about I think Gregor's right Karen huh it won't hurt to prepare for the worst I think she's right Karen fail to prepare prepare to fail I'm Natalie let's go out and prepare for the storm foraging should be key priority today there are plenty of edible foods and it has better odds than trying to hunt give me a few minutes and I'll plot out the best route on some paper let me help little guy all right um what do I do now a Natalie and Gregor heads to the bedroom to consult the map Mariah and Karen are still hanging around unfortunately in life you can't make everyone happy when given a choice to speak to a character Choose Wisely you can only select one of them try to max out your bond with certain characters for Unique dialogue and scenarios which one would you like to talk to Karen or Mariah and [ __ ] Karen I want to talk to Mariah Mariah seems cool as [ __ ] so that's what I'm gonna do Mariah is paging through some of the books on the bookshelf you walk over to her she looks so [ __ ] happy why do I love her so much there's some great books here um which one is your favorite um the scary one I already read the entire thing it wasn't scary at all very surface level horror a cheap imitation of Real Horror sounds like most of the [ __ ] I play anyway ending with a woman screaming does that even count as an ending you tell her it's a prequel to another book you're kidding right I've lost all faith in authors you know Frankenstein right I don't mean the 1931 film I mean the book by Mary Shelley it started with a boat around the North Pole it definitely had more to say than the film or this book right is judging your choice partially you're pretty sure she'll remember that ah come on Mariah did you want me to pick the Romantic one did I even save what was my last save okay I've reloaded the file I'm gonna choose a different one she looks like the type of girl that would be interested in crafting oh me too Metallurgy is so interesting I knew it I knew it I'm curious no thanks um that vegetables stew gross he already stunk up the cabin last night sparrows are repeat onion it almost smelled as bad as you stinky almost um aren't you going to give the recipe onions I guess um hey ever noticed those four humans don't give you any recipes those monsters that's why you should spend more time with us right of course um I'll have the perfect recipe for you today it will make the kitchen smell nice afterwards and it will impress dinner guests I received the borks recipe what is that don't burn down the cabin making it okay okay um and don't be a stranger Chomp beds out Christ they're cute as [ __ ] but oh Mariah's back early today hey the others are still looking for food outside and Natalie found some berries but nothing that will feed all of us please don't tell the others I'm a little worried about our supplies I crunched the numbers and we don't have enough food even with ratioing to last if there's a big storm and we get stuck here Mariah seems disappointed in your inventory management can you try cooking with a little less this evening okay yeah sure thank you you've done such a great job with meals so far um you're very sweet is Mariah blushing a little bit yeah yeah she goes she kind of is she trying to be my waifu Mariah will remember that action gone already all right all right maybe you can teach me to cook some time yeah snow on the tips of the mountains oh everybody's hungry that Rumble sounded like a dying calf you look from person to person trying to determine who it was it's definitely Mariah Mariah I'd recognize that sound from anywhere guilty my head looks embarrassed but the group laughs at her honesty except for you you search your mind for something to say but all you can think of is an old riddle um those who have it do not want it those who have at least succeed I also have it for too long perish when you feed it it gets smaller what am I hunger hmm dust try again big guy everyone is pondering the answer Mariah's face lights up I got it it's hunger oh God yeah nice yeah I was going to guess that um so um what's on the menu tonight Chef uh Brad and Jim you crush the berries into your small mortar and pestle spreading it on some crusty bread and there we go that jam looks a little too red it could almost Be Blood you cooked raspberry jam and bread the bread's a little tough Gregor don't look a gift horse in the mouth what does that mean but this homemade jam is to die for sorry no you you're right Gregor the spread stinks Mariah everybody laughs you're not sure this could be called a meal but I got the job done everyone thanks you for dinner and heads off to sleep you go to bed wishing you had more you have a strange dream something is riding on your back and it's becoming a nuisance you try to see it in the mirror you can't get a good look at it try almost everything but it won't get off pain between your shoulder blades is getting worse by the minute you wander away from the cabin stumbling by a river to soak your pain in cold water you didn't want things to come to this but you've exhausted all other options you swim out in the middle rocks on the bottom cut your feet you slip and fall to your knees you lean back trying to submerge the thing underneath the water but it won't drown it won't drown it won't drown you Splash frantically plunging your head beneath the water the current takes you Downstream you try swimming to the shore but it's no use water fills your mouth and nostrils after a minute you stop struggling against the current as you gaze up at the sky you feel it leaving your back drifting into the sky as you sink to the bottom as you take your last gasp you see what was on your back staring into your eyes you don't even have the air in your lungs to scream you awake in cold sweat huh but what's that what was that I just got an achievement called Just a Dream wake up sorry you were making strange noises in your sleep what's going on Gregor did the lightning wake you up it would woke me up tried to fall back asleep but it's so loud ugh let's just get back to sleep and talk about this in the morning everyone nods in agreement and gets back to bed except for you you can't fall back asleep you still have Goosebumps from The Nightmare Karen's snoring is louder than a sawmill you find it very loud and very distracting you don't sleep a wink everyone is now up and awake in the cabin you hear the front door open and quickly slams shut and Natalie sounds petrified what happened I looked out the door and we're completely surrounded by flood waters looks like the sailors take warning was more appropriate for today maybe it'll clear up tomorrow probably not you can't steal big guys optimism Karen why the hell not that's all he has going for him egg he's also good at chopping wood though knock it off you two Mariah do you think it'll clear up tomorrow I gave it a 27 chance of it clearing up tomorrow based on what I was bored stiff so I read a book on local precipitation levels for the last 20 years in the living room sounds like you're stealing a Natalie's Thunder and Natalie you're a book nerd right why didn't you read it I couldn't make it past the cover is that right yes that bookshelf has some great books on artists and crafting and Natural Sciences why let them sit there Gathering dust how did you arrive at 27 chance of it clearing up tomorrow it's easy take the time of the year multiply by a factor of oh God she's doing a thing Mariah begins to explain meteorology to you she isn't dumbing any of this down it's similar to up that where so the first thing you need to understand minutes of explanation feel like ours oh God you look over at Natalie he's listening intently to Mariah yeah he looks like he's listening intently I just noticed his motherfucker's got a squirrel on his shoulder who is that I just noticed that why does he have a squirrel on his shoulder so intently he hasn't blinked yet you can see his eyes drying up a tear rolls down one of his cheeks this is brutal to watch Mariah finally wraps up her lecture she ends with a bow nobody claps tough crowd Mariah that was uh oh inspiring you lost me a few minutes in but it's okay I didn't understand a word of it huh Natalie turns to you anyway there's no telling how long this will last uh we can't leave the cabin until these flood waters stop I know our food Situation's a little tight but I know you'll make the right decisions just look at her face bro she's looking at me like she really wants to eat some food I believe in you me too it looks like we have enough berries left over for more bread and raspberry jam I'll pass on the jam just give you more crusty bread everyone laughs except for you why with everyone stranded in the cabin you need to keep everyone fed and happy you sneak out to the kitchen while everyone's still talking should I cook the rat I got a rat you get some crusty bread and get to working making some more Jam with the kitchen to yourself you decide to check on the chompets hello don't worry as the leader of a chump hits I'll make sure none of you humans Know About Us well really that big guy would try eating me like an apple so definitely don't tell them about us huh are your plans going all right [Music] shut the [ __ ] up got another cornbread classic for you did you hear about the bread makers bakery burning down no her business is now toast [Laughter] that one's been done to death do you know how raspberry and milk were introduced no raspberry milkshake oh shut the [ __ ] up red I got time for your [ __ ] right now did cornbread teach you that one no wasted an entire day thinking about that terrible pun oh Jesus Christ uh it was well worth the time and Everett raspberry uh maybe you'll win the annual trumpet comedy competition this year oh God okay not while I'm here I'm about to throw up I won't choke on stage this year is it that every year we trumpet somehow managed to close the drawer on themselves you bring the crusty bread and jam onto the living room oh God okay um why do I have a terrible feeling Karen interrupts as you bring in the food took you long enough Karen looks at the two slices of bread left and the Mason jar jar of raspberry jam there's mold on these last two slices of bread uh yeah that's bad Karen is right um what the hell is the matter with you you grip the knife tightly in your hand [ __ ] don't you dare you think this is enough for five of us wait wait we can't throw this right away it's all we have left Gregor's right and Natalie will mold spores give us food poisoning I'm I'm not scientist I'm sorry um let's pick off as much mold as we can we can't leave with the flood water so this will have to last us another day everyone grimly nods ripping apart their piece like a pack of wolves uh-oh you don't want to be stuck in a cabin with a bunch of hungry humans Gregor seems to unhinge his jaw and eat it in one bite poor Gregor he looks like a duck eating bread thanks again bread and jam isn't much of a meal but it's more than we had when we left Ukraine plenty of rain water outside so at least we won't die of dehydration but until the storm is over nobody would leave the cabin should clear up if we could just give it a chance and Natalie where are you getting that information from one of the books on the bookshelf about the climate here you're illiterate so that is definitely a lie I've seen him reading little guy's been studying I'm serious he pretends to read those books because he wants us to think that he's smart but I can tell he's just staring at the page faking it what do you think uh Natalie can read I saw it with my own two eyes man leave the guy alone you must be going and that's how fast the deer could run if it startled whoa incredible um impressive um I wish we had a deer here the food getting lower let's just skip today's meal oh no everybody's just getting hungry huh no it's only for one day various cultures and religions have practiced fasting throughout history that doesn't make us feel any better at Natalie what options do we have our food wasn't rationed properly and Natalie leaves mumbling to himself so passive aggressive of him now everybody's leaving ah Jesus Christ everyone goes to a separate area Karen in the bedroom Gregor in the living room Brian the kitchen and Natalie in the bathroom who do you want to speak to Okay um listen things are definitely getting tense around here we don't have any food we can't go out and hunt for food oh are we about to oh are we about to start eating each other ah I sure hope not maybe I'm jumping to some really far out there assumptions here but if the storm continues I don't I don't think we'll have any other choice I hope my assumptions are not correct and the game doesn't go this route but if it does that would be some crazy [ __ ] okay look I have two hearts with my relationship with Mariah and I want to max out my heart and see what happens so I'm gonna go talk with her I'm gonna take this opportunity to talk with Mariah and see what's up oh I didn't hear you coming I was just cold sweat ah okay day five okay things are moving very fast now since there's no food everyone seems to be sleeping later than normal their stomachs must have kept them awake all night the rain is still pouring outside you can barely make out the trees from the windows you hear a stirring of blankets arms and legs Mariah looks petrified Lee has bags under his eyes no he doesn't he looks chipper as [ __ ] this storm is loud Karen looks out of it the cabin was creaking so much last night it sounded alive Gregor looks a little gaunt oh got a good look out the window and couldn't see anything due to the Rain great observation Gregor I was so hungry last night I kept pacing around my bed Karen turns to you when is it going to end I checked outside the door again flood waters keep Rising unfortunately we're going to need to stay put unless one of us wants to drown in Rainwater as soon as the weather lets up we'll be able to scavenge for supplies how close is the nearest town I don't know did you have a map on you you guys should have thought of this the very first day it started raining I think I dropped it while running after Gregor I'm sure it'll show up eventually Ryan and Natalie go white as a sheep we don't have a map now how are we going to find our way back now we will um have to ride out the storm Mariah looks at you we're down to our last slice of bread I don't know how much longer we can put off eating the group stares at you why are you looking at me looking at me like you haven't had Mexican food in like five days it will clear up in no time maybe you're right um the group looks worried they all gravitate to an area you can tell Gregor's putting on fake optimism and Mariah is having trouble which one do you want to speak with today I'm going to speak off of it you instruct everyone to take a pinch and slowly all five of you tear it apart like a wishbone everyone studied their piece of bread carefully wondering how long it will last Karen is the first to eat hers she chews each bite a few hundred times before swallowing and Natalie chews it cautiously opening his mouth once he finishes each bite Mariah nibbles on it silently eyes wide moving from person to person just imagine her Gregor just pops it in his mouth like a cherry it was gone in an instant okay this is sad we have now have no food the group thanks you awkwardly it's not much but you've run out of options you wish everyone a good night and get ready for bed go to bed starving what good morning why does she sound so chipper morning let me check if the rain has stopped I don't know has it it's still flooding what are we gonna do humans can live about two to three weeks without food water isn't a concern okay rainfall should end in a day or two right um actually precipitation can occur more than to 215 days a year here where are we but do you really think it will rain that long a Natalie it's been days already what makes you think it will stop soon relax everyone let's see how long we can ride this out fingers crossed it's done by tomorrow no one likes this Panic is slowly creeping in everyone's looking scared but you need to survive what do we do father was a farmer and extremely bright but extremely stubborn after they took him we struggled like other families but people kept calling him a traitor even after he was gone our village went mad from starvation after the rationing got extreme parents sending their children to orphanages instead of letting them starve at home it was terrible absolutely terrible eventually we decided we needed to escape so we stole surprise supplies until we had enough for the journey to keep our spirits up Gregor described it as a vacation you usually don't face death during a vacation though thanks for listening Mariah walks away saddened by the memories oh damn it I shouldn't have done that you can hear Gregor calling everyone together for a meeting I don't think any of us can take this much longer Gregor's voice starts to crack I don't want to ask this but it's time one of us needs to go outside and search for food everyone is silent I'll go Mariah I used to swim all the time near my house so I probably have the best chance of swimming through the flood waters oh no no let me go instead you won't get very far if anything happens to your glasses and Natalie you're blind is a mole rat remember that's true but little guy let me go Gregor Aya sounds good to me Karen his arms are definitely the longest so he's probably the best at climbing trees out of all of us no that wouldn't be right Gregor let me go instead I get none of these options or good ones but we need to find food or help Gregor grabs a branch from the wood pile he cuts it into different measurements since we can't come to a consensus let's draw for it we'll each pick from my hand and the shortest will go outside to search for food oh God they're gonna do the thing you're not worried about drawing you saw Gregor cut the branch lengths so you can tell which is the biggest one of the bunch you pick it you watch the others intently I'm a dick will it be Gregor Natalie Karen will it be looks like I've got the shortest oh no oh no [Music] Mariah Mariah it's okay [Music] I watched a Natalie forage earlier so I'll know what to look out for just swim until you find Higher Ground then Scout the area maybe waiting and waiting the sun is completely set one by one each person quietly shuffles off to bed you get ready for bed and easily pass out I just got an achievement called dead to me did Mariah just die you have a strange dream the two women in front of you could be twins one of them you recognize the other is a guest you asked the guest to sit on a shovel and then you try pushing it into the oven her legs are so strong you can't get her into the oven you curse at her repeatedly like this you hiss you stretch out your legs until your toes are almost sticking in the coals you feel Four Hands grab onto your shoulders and both of them push you in the familiar smell of smoke and burning hair cause you to throw up on the Embers why am I having dreams of getting cooked alive you can't let it end like this you rip the metal door off the oven tearing through the wood logs of the cabin screaming you chase the two through the woods your Burns chill with the wind the guest looks behind her and her eyes widen when she sees you she's terrified your Fury rips trees out by their Roots soiled from the ground rocks from their pits you've never been this angry in your entire life their stamina can't last forever you're gaining on them as you trample through the field of wheat the guest throws a piece of cloth behind her you catch the glint of it in the sun golden as if by Magic the Earth splits in front of you creating a Chasm of fire below you fall into the pit screaming as your eyes begin to sizzle from the Heat Hellfire fills your lungs you're unable to scream anymore you awake in a cold sweat ah scare me every time okay um day seven let's see what happens when everyone wakes up is Mariah back good morning do you think she made it to Higher Ground I believe in Mariah me too she'll be fine right little guy so what do we do now just wait wait what happened to the squirrel on Natalie's shoulder where they could have just eaten that [ __ ] are they dumb Karen how long it's been almost a day since she left Natalie and Gregor look nervous someone needs to go look for her we need to wait Karen wait for what the nearest town is Miles and Miles Away waiting is all we can do for now so it could be days before she gets back what are we supposed to do eat mice Karen I'm sure Natalie will agree but we'll discuss next options when we get to it every waking thought is about food now I never should have eaten that much Karen's hands are involuntarily shaking Gregor and Natalie just not in agreement they don't even need her to elaborate you're sure Mariah will make it back she promised everyone retreats to their areas what do you want to do today all right this is a good place to stop um I'm Gonna Leave the game right there uh I didn't expect Mariah to leave first of all she's probably dead and now I'm wondering what's gonna happen next because nothing is solved we're still hungry and we're all together I'm excited to see what else is going down I like stuff like this because of the characters especially a Natalie and Mariah Karen can eat a ball sack and Gregor is just he's just a nice dude okay um this is my bread and butter I like stuff like this
