I don't know if I'm a bad person or not but I love seeing Adam get so worked up. Like his passion for The Lion King and Oldboy is immense and seeing him just get so mad and flustered about their remakes and people's shitty arguments regarding Kimba is hilarious.

These Adum rant highlights are fucking gold. I love watching him go deeper and deeper into this Kimba/Lion King rabbit hole.

Want to throw out there that the last clip is from The Lion King 2 (1998). The comparison is still BS though.

Furry Wars, episode 3

I love this rabbit hole and the passion put in to actually researching this topic.

Also, Adummm--perhaps your Kimba vid is already made, and maybe this is too obvious, but TLK and Hamlet have more similarities than TLK and Kimba. May be interesting to note, considering SO MANY blatant iterations of Shakespeare. (and obvs copyright laws dont apply to a super dead dude, but the intent would be to point out lifting of plot, themes, etc--in stark contrast to someone seeing a kimba trailer and saying "hey let's make a lion movie")

simba versus kim by the pride of lions who wrote this Robert Layden and Fred Patten in 1964 s to the good I'm just trying to find because there's like a some sort of publication by this guy who's like who lists some very specific complaints that I don't even think were in the complaint from Tezuka but they're sourced and cited like on Wikipedia and a bunch of other [ __ ] so like you'd think it would be important okay let's do table of contents Simba versus Kimba the pride of lions here we are unpublished paper presented at Australia's second international conference on animation Sydney March 3rd through 5th 1995 can we just say that the Lion King took some inspirations from Kimba that's entirely possible that's entirely possible but that's not what my arguments about it's not whether or not it's entirely possible ok he admits that Lion King as king of the jungle is a staple of Fork folklore going back as far at least as far as Aesop's fables 2500 years ago yeah ok he's saying a lot of my points here interesting all right and then he goes on to point out 8 points of similarity which seem to go beyond reasonable coincidence I can't believe people he's drawing parallels between Zazu and Polly still I can't believe people do that they're entirely different characters and then he's saying that Timon and Pumbaa Oh God Simba and Kimba yeah their main characters Mufasa and Caesar yes the main characters dead and they died childhood sweethearts Nala and kitty that's an unreasonable comparison you can't say just because the main character has a love interest that they're the lovin or anything like each other at all they're not the villains lion the villainous lion scar and claw yes those are very similar in ways but also very different in ways and the Panther Cassius scar combines elements of both I think that that's reaching that's reaching so far why is baboon advisors Rafiki and Dan'l as I'm gonna point out as I'm going over more kimba footage Daniels most common character trait is that he's like kind of a [ __ ] punching bag like he's not it's not like he doesn't really have the same role as Rafiki at all right he's not really an advisor he's just a friend that like tries to convince him to do different things sometimes Zaza would Paulie are not similar at all they're just Birds and then now he's saying Timon and Pumbaa are like also like Paulie and Bucky which doesn't make sense the evil hyena is it's like yeah there's only so many animals that they're going to use if the villain has like any kind of like sidekicks it's like it's it's integral to the plot you know it's not like they're not the same characters they really aren't anyway the wise Lion King is killed and the young Prince is driven from home he returns to find that the throne has been occupied in his absence by a brutal scar-faced over one I older lion with whom he must defeated battle to be cupcake yeah in like maybe two Episode it's kind of it's like when you're going over like the 3,000 minutes worth of Kimba the story really isn't about that it's really not and like if we're talking about the original series like I don't even think they say that claw has like like assumed power of the throne or anything like yeah the villains in these types of stories are gonna be like yes I want to have I want to control things that I want to have power that's like a very common villain trope and so it's weird when he gives the Lion King credit on these other these other things saying like oh yeah this is folklore this is a trope sort of thing but not on other things that are like really obvious true he already listed these how is this point three y'all relisted those characters comically excitable bird of the same size as a parrot in Kimba a hornbill in the Lion King plays a pompous functionary a herald or its equivalent this is supported by a team of comic relief Carolee why is this a third point you just listed this in point one oh that's really pushing it that's really really really really pushing it what what that's so oh I can't agree with 0.5 at all here eating bugs is not being an herbivore first of all you're not vegetarian when you eat bugs those are still creatures first of all second that wasn't Kim Simba's philosophy Kimbo was like yeah guys we're nobody wants to fight - we'll go with you well yeah everybody couldn't be vegetarian that was that was Kimba whereas Simba was like hey what do you guys eat like oh we eat this because there's no antelope or whatever they're like Kim but Kim it didn't just decide to become vegetarian first of all bug eating is not vegetarian Simba did I say Kimba or Simba he didn't just decide to do that he was like making friends with these people and they were like here's what we eat and like it the entire philosophy that drives Kimba to do this where he's like no animals can fight each other ever that's completely contradictory to one of the main core central themes in The Lion King which is the circle of life his dad's like yeah we eat the antelope the antelope eat the grass whatever when I die my body becomes the grass that is completely contradictory to what drives Kimba to do that how is this a point I don't agree with this at all and this is uh the image apparent in the sky plays an inspirational role of the jungle Emperor novel is a memorable scene at the beginning where infinitely o'seas mother image in the stars and night into a little bit and again this is a trope seeing like dead people or visions in the clouds or sky or moon or stars or whatever and if Kimba did every single one of them it's like well the Lion King can't do any of them because it's already done I guess stampede The Lion King Mufasa is killed while risking Simba from a tree emits a wildebeest stampede as a result of stampede if this impeded in his photos distant history kind of linger in the episode running wild Kimba and his friends are threatened by a stampede of antelopes Kimba my saved Bucky deer who is clinging to a tree in the midst of a stampede later Kimba is so despondent that he could not stop the antelope so I'm gonna look up this specific episode running wild let's look at this [ __ ] stampede hey why are they why did I give a [ __ ] about cabbages okay so he's already like crushed also okay here we are here's the yeah that's the example Oh No okay I got a listen to why he justifies like going over there hold on so he's trying to he's going to the antelopes to get them to come back and fix the [ __ ] farm this is it [Music] like what about this with the Lion King need to rip off what about this what about this scenario is like so good that The Lion King needed to rip it off they didn't do anything close to this like what are you talking about this is all over the place [Music] what the [ __ ] here's my [ __ ] issue here's my issue that I think is going to summarize like most of my thoughts on this whole controversy first of all let me remind everybody again this is episode 39 out of like 52 of the original show so that like a small section within the 3,000 plus minutes of Kimba right it is that this scene is insignificant to the entirety of Kimba really and when people write things like this a key event in the hero's life there's an implication there that like these events aren't just like completely separate from all the other events in the show or in the entire series there's an implication there that something important is happening in this moment that affects the plot of the entire show but it doesn't like this show is all over the [ __ ] place it's all over the [ __ ] place like there was another episode where their crops got ruined from like what was it locusts or something or like ants like it's so ridiculous it's so incredibly ridiculous and yeah so come comparing the moment in the Lion King where Simba's dad dies a pivotal moment in that 90 minutes of The Lion King that is absolutely necessary for the story - this one off [ __ ] II like kind of slapstick II comical dumbass [ __ ] that only exists because they're on episode 39 and they just don't know what to do with the show comparing those two things and saying that like oh yeah The Lion King ripped it off the issue that I have is that when you look at every single one of these comparisons whether it be scars claw or Zazu is Polly cracker or any any one of these these scene similarities or anything it only works the only way you're able to convince people of this is if they haven't seen the show either they haven't seen the show or you can convince people who view media in the most reductive simplistic way possible to say like yes if you if you reduce something to a single sentence then they're kind of similar sentences aren't they but they're not that's not what they are that's not what they the film is not that the show is not that the show is not a single sentence of a summary of events that's not what it is they're completely different products it's so annoying because yeah the Lion King just needed to rip off the idea of there being a stampede in the jungle not allowed to show a stampede you can't do it Kimba did it you're not allowed to show us stampede apparently what about this is the same other than stampede and then one character was like hanging on to a tree at a point it's not the same it's not the same at all all right later Kimba a status planner that he could nest up the antelope that he declares he is not fit to roll and runs off that's it that's the author justifying why it's a major event in his life ah that's so funny because the conflict is resolved by the end of the episode the conflict is resolved by the end of the episode its episodic it's not like it's not super linear at all there's plenty of things throughout the show that they completely contradict there's parts in the show where they're like oh yes implicit ugh and then other parts are it's like no you can't talk and it's like it doesn't have consistency it's like it's like expecting Family Guy to have consistency from one episode to the next there'll be like characters like it's like it's like South Park even or it's like a character will die and then they'll be back like Kenny or something like you can't portray pretend that that's like a major event in a character's life in the grand scheme of the show when it's literally just contained within one episode and every episode is just all over the [ __ ] place again like going on with these [ __ ] cliffs saying like you're not allowed to have a cliff in the Lion King like [ __ ] off like okay lightning starts a fire see this quote from this book was mentioned on the wiki page it was sourced on the wiki page for this controversy and other articles The Hollywood Reporter article the red Bettis lightning starts a fire and rain puts it out like what you're not allowed to have lightnings start a fire and rain putting it out how many different scenarios do you think are possible within a show that has lions in the jungle how many different scenarios do you think are possible and so that's that's why I want to check out the jungle book from 1942 because if that's anything like the animated movie which I'm pretty sure I don't I could be remembering incorrectly but I'm pretty sure lightning starts a fire in that movie and rain puts it out or something pretty sure that happens doesn't it there's like a fire near the end of the jungle book isn't there pretty sure lightning did that so if like that kind of makes this point moot then if there's like the Jungle Book any of its iterations that it's so stupid oh yeah he kicks burning sand into claws eyes in one of the episodes that's just like when when from cipa oh wait when scar scoops a powerful of hot coals into Simba's eyes reverse the characters and change what they're flinging into the other characters eyes it's like you can't this is there's 3000 minutes of Kimba there's 3000 minutes yeah that's a trope we've covered this okay so the main character is not allowed to have like a female companion that he plays with [ __ ] they were playing in this episode so that's the Lion King rip the Lion King ripped off the original idea of having lion cubs playing no they didn't even sue they didn't even go to court they literally didn't even go to court then it didn't even go to court what about the name Kimba and Simba well Simba is Swahili for lion it's Swahili for lion that's it's as simple as that it's literally as simple as that like and and then the Lion King there are other characters names that go along with that exact same motif Mufasa means king like it that's how the characters are named and Nala means love or some [ __ ] like that's how they named the characters to employ like even this authors that like doesn't think that the Kimba Simba name name thing is like a legitimate criticism even this author doesn't think so I forget exactly where they said it all right so yeah that's a bunch of [ __ ] that's a bunch of [ __ ] yeah Kimba invented stampedes yeah yeah that's what I watched in that interview that you sent said X 96 the in the in the American adaptation Oh of jungle Emperor Leo which is known as Kimba the lion or Kimba the jungle and Kimba Kimba the White Lion in America they came up with that name because Simba means lion in Swahili and then they decided Simba wasn't that marketable because other people could use Simba because it's a common thing so they changed it to Kimba exactly that's my point and then the Lion King they just did Simba because it means lion and Swahili that's that's literally the point is that it is entirely reasonable entirely reasonable that both could have come to that name independently there are logical reasons for that that's the point haha he is hallucinating in the clouds - that's how much of a trope it is is that supposed to be tits like what is that that's his face who is that is that his mustache friend yeah this parts so funny he teaches them to sing [Music] the best song wah wah wah wah wah [Music] well wha-wha-wha wha-wha-wha-wha [Music] [Laughter] [Music] colonialism a core theme of this show this also so here's something that like directly so like yeah this completely contradicts him being like this wise mentor cuz quite often in the show he says some stupid [ __ ] and Kimber's like no that's wrong he's like yeah you should get revenge kimba's like no you like we shouldn't get revenge cuz then I'll just go on forever oh no look at him with his raised fist again it's almost like this is like a defining character trait that the people making these comparisons are conveniently ignoring it's almost like this defining character trait separates him immensely from Zazu and nobody [ __ ] talks about it the [ __ ] that I'm finding here that's like so contradictory there's more of it than the [ __ ] that they're saying is stolen [Laughter] [Music] oh this is the this is the clip this is this is the clip that they is like see dental has a stick to this is literally what episode that's it that's that's literally the length of the clip out of 3,000 minutes falling from a cliff is such a cliched thing especially when you have characters that are animals in a jungle like they use it a billion times in this show way maybe baby yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah way baby they sang this song like 50 [ __ ] times in this episode was so annoying if people actually watched this show there would be like a hilarious Kimber out of context Twitter account is what there would be those dogs of yours are bullies and kill attack them to fame that put me save a [ __ ] [Music] so that that whole story was literally for Kimba to get to see you should never judge a book by its cover I guess because the cat turned out to be more valuable when it wasn't dirty they're like look at that it's actually a cat that has a reward attached to it what see what I'm confused about is like why didn't they say this was the same as the Lion King because Pumbaa stinky like the criticism would hold just as much weight like there's a stinky character that people don't want to be around it's like yes one episode okay so now we have now we have the warthog character so this is the shot-putter in those videos that are like okay shame is Pumbaa but it's like first of all this is episode 18 and this is the first we've seen of this character 18 episode 18 and I'm pretty sure they're like not even in the rest of the show it's like - it's so misleading it's so incredibly misleading he's got some weird ass fetish spank me boom bye everybody likes [ __ ] off what the [ __ ] is going on this is literally this episode is about him cuz this is this episode you know it's not like it's not like he's a main character in the show they just like it's one of those hey this so it's about a certain character that we'll never see again I'll show them all don't go to school tomorrow thank you so much thank you thank you thank you thank you [Music] episode 22 oh yeah this is the one where everybody gets purple AIDS stupid what are you doing I feel like I should also be organizing every single time Kimba fights claw cuz like I think a good point to make would be how like yeah there's like the you know that people argue like oh well there was a cliff one time he fought claw it's like yeah but they did like there there's a variety of ways that they fought cuz they fought a billion times they fought a billion times in this show so it's like what if he did any one of these other things that would have been a ripoff - you know like I didn't know it was a series versus movie yeah exactly nobody note when people don't understand and nobody's done their research it's like nobody everybody thinks it's ninety minutes versus ninety minutes and then at that point you go like oh there's so many similarities not ninety minutes versus three thousand three thousand minutes not even [ __ ] kidding literally three thousand minutes worth of kimba [ __ ] that people are comparing to The Lion King it's such an unfair comparison such an incredibly unfair comparison they've done everything look at he was only at the beginning of the episode you didn't even do anything there's 52 episodes of the original series then twenty-something episode of the sequel series from a year after that there's a movie in between those two series there's another movie after that and another series that's like 52 episodes and then like two more movies there's 3,000 minutes there's 3,000 minutes of Kimba we doesn't know he hated this father okay yeah and then literally they're just at the beginning and they don't come into play at all they do Lyra I'm just gonna add that I don't how every article uses [ __ ] like this where it's like 1966 I'm sorry that image is not from 1966 it's literally not it's literally not this is from one of the like post Lion King movies you can tell exactly by the animation style it's literally not from 1966 and yet these images exist and they're just considered as fact like okay they're like evil plan is to like get the kids to eat meat they do this [ __ ] all the time and it lasts forever and it's so annoying it goes on for so long the tickle-tickle tree that's the restaurant it's got the [ __ ] logo this is what I'm skimming through them even if I don't have specific notes because it like there's certain points that I'm making that like I don't know until after I've seen so many episodes where I'm like wait this happens a lot yeah see there's there are things that I'm realizing it about it as I'm going along because like they treat Dan'l the people making these criticisms say like O'Donnell's the same as Rafiki cuz sometimes he gives Kimba advice but the truth is like Daniels character they said before he's like the oldest in the jungle but there's far more references to him just being an old kook like he's just the old one like that's more of his character he's not like some crazy witch doctor who gives like tons of advice and doses the main character and [ __ ] you know it's like it's completely different context and for many parts of this show he turns into kind of like a punching bag later on - it's kind of weird it's like haha Daniel got hurt there's three thousand minutes of Kimba there's not just 30 there's 52 episodes of the original series the original series and when people claim that The Lion King is ripped off Kimba they're not just talking about the original 52 episodes they're talking about all of it even after the Lion King was made so that's why I have to go through [ __ ] all of it because these people are [ __ ] sorry my god this is like it's infuriating that I even have to make this video it's infuriating that people are this [ __ ] stupid and just listen to whatever they [ __ ] say sorry listen to whatever they hear believe whatever they hear sorry Jesus Christ I'm just actually mad and it's [ __ ] ridiculous that when start when I start saying [ __ ] like yeah you know what I'm not sold on the entirety of all this [ __ ] people show up in my subreddit arguing with me and they haven't seen Kimba and they're arguing with me and they haven't seen it and they're arguing with me and they're convinced they're convinced of their own position against the person that is researching the position thoroughly that pisses me off a little that pisses me off a little like very frustrating very frustrating huh yeah you thought it was a movie everyone does because it's presented an incredible incredibly manipulative way everything you've ever heard about the controversy is so [ __ ] manipulative that anybody who hasn't seen Kimba thinks like oh yeah it's another movie no it's not it's three thousand minutes versus 90 minutes an incredibly incredibly unfair comparison ridiculous [ __ ] ridiculous oh my god this is about the point in the show where I got like really [ __ ] annoying because like these characters would just tag along for every [ __ ] episode I don't know why they were so annoying their voice acting sucked it was really high-pitched oh is it another cliff scenario yeah it is I'm angry all the time but particularly angry about this [ __ ] because when I when I saw that huge long detailed reddit post in my subreddit that was also cross posted to the like flix subreddit or something I left the tab open I was like I'm gonna read through this later this person has clearly done their research read through it and there's so much in there that makes it so incredibly clear that they did not watch the show they think they think that there's a Pumbaa sidekick in this show they think that there's a warthog sidekick I'm sorry there was a warthog in one episode you've seen what other people said about it you didn't watch the show you didn't watch the show if you're making the compare person between Pumbaa and a warthog who just appears in one episode that has nothing to do with Pumbaa whose character is not the same at all literally one episode out of 52 is about this warthog rest of the series he's like non-existent if that's in your [ __ ] reddit post you haven't seen the show if you're making the comparison between Zazu and Polly cracker you have not seen the [ __ ] show you're in I'm sorry I'm about to get really [ __ ] mean here well I gotta stop myself hey you haven't seen the show and I'm upset that you would you would make that entire post and pretend like you have pretend like you're an authority on this when you're not you've read what other people have said you've listened and you've believed to what other people have said and you didn't do your own research I can't believe it it's so ridiculous and it's not just that one person it's so many of these people so many of these people as soon as as soon as the YMS highlights channel published me laughing about Kimba and saying a lot of these same things there were so many people out from the Woodworks ready to defend Kimba over The Lion King and they haven't seen the show and so many people were saying that my subreddit but they hadn't seen the show and they're arguing they're arguing against my position without having done any actual [ __ ] I say I was about to say research but it's like yeah you research meaning people can consider research like oh they said this and I believe this but that's not real research research is actually watching the show the you're repeating opinions that aren't yours is what my issue is oh my god it's like you haven't formed your own opinion on the subject so why are you arguing about it I couldn't imagine arguing about a subject that I haven't formed my own opinion on that sounds [ __ ] insane to me that sounds ridiculous right but apparently a lot of people do that and it's not just Kimba it's a lot of things I [ __ ] argued about some of the more controversial things I've argued about people have very passionate opinions on without having done their research very clearly like people are [ __ ] stupid I can't believe it how can you argue how can you argue what do you don't even have your own opinion on the subject and you're just listening to what other people have said and you haven't done any research I don't understand the type of person that does that but apparently that's a [ __ ] ton of people oh look it's it's looking look at how much this character is like Zazu Wow I'm I'm being so dishonest and manipulative with these like 800 clips that I've pulled so far of this character doing this exact same thing this exact same character trait that he does over and over and over again that is in complete contradiction to Zuzu's character I'm being manipulative here I'm just picking and choosing what I want to see I'm biased because I like the Lion King that's the story here I'm the biased one it's not it's not the people who really love Kimba and are upset that the Lion King is more popular they're not biased they're not biased and I trust that they're not biased because I don't want to watch the show alright is this the elephant graveyard thing oh god I almost missed a clip of Polly being an aggressive [ __ ] as if I didn't have enough of these already so I might throw this into the I might I might make a new category here called racism and I know that this clip in of itself it's like not really you could be like mad but as soon as the second series starts you'll be like holy [ __ ] holy [ __ ] man there's a lot of problematic stuff in the second series oh boy no this part this this was the line I was looking for the realization that Africa is changing the continent is coming a page the people must say goodbye to tell us masks and voodoo drums the continent is coming of age the people must say goodbye to Devils masks and voodoo drums all right that's pretty good yeah right holy [ __ ] Japan yeah we built a [ __ ] amusement that's what they were building an amusement park [Music] they were building an amusement park [Music] why how I don't know what I bank Laden no no I would not there's no character there I need the character this show is all over the [ __ ] place for people to argue that the Lion King ripped off its themes would be to imply that it has a consistent theme which it does not it does not have a child [ __ ] see here's the [ __ ] thing the reason why I'm compiling all the clips of Kimba fighting claw is because there's only so many [ __ ] things you can do when your characters are in the jungle right so if the Lion King it like that this is part of the argument that I'm gonna make I'm gonna be like okay so if you're not allowed if you're not allowed to have Simba and scarf fight on a cliff if you're just not allowed to do that because Kim has done it then it's like well how about you knock over something and I crushes him and it's like oh no that all right that already happened how about you get the other animals to help no Kimba did it you know how all these different scenarios have you tried drowning him no Kimba did it try crushing him with rocks Kimba did it so it's like how many possible scenarios do you think there could possibly be for the Lion King writers to have Simba fight claw we're sorry scar I'm interchanging the names already it's so funny that like this is used as the example of like oh no the stampede from The Lion King this is the same cuz like when I watched it I didn't even know like I was taking notes of like similarities this was not one that came up as I watched the show it's [ __ ] ridiculous that people would try to say that this is anything similar that's ridiculous I'm sorry that's [ __ ] [ __ ] yeah if you switch around several of the characters in the entire point of the scene the tone the goals literally everything if you boil everything you watch down to like two sentences and leave out everything else about it it's it's it's a classic Simpsons did it scenario literally like what could the Lion King have done that wouldn't have been done by Kimba write a [ __ ] script right now introduce some [ __ ] conflicts right now to me about like a lion in the jungle introduce some conflicts to me at this moment Chet and what I'm gonna tell you is Kimba [ __ ] did it okay literally brainstorm right now brainstorm right now for some reasonable conflicts that would appear in Africa cliff water fire what they did everything they did everything do you want to deal with a brainstorm with me right now try to write us cryptic Kimba didn't do AIDS Kimba did it Kimba [ __ ] did it they had purple AIDS not even kidding a giraffe attacked the Lions I'm pretty sure that was actually done yeah I'm pretty sure that was actually done Kimba I believe there was a conflict with the giraffe you guys ran out of ideas already you guys ran out of ideas I thought it was so easy to do things that Kimba hasn't done yeah he is hiding inside his dead daddy yeah kind of get desensitized to this [ __ ] after a while I can't imagine how invested one must be in Kimba to come up with all these crazy conspiracies and and draw these conclusions to such a ridiculous degree there was a stampede in one episode out of 3000 minutes yeah Kimba invented stampedes did anybody die in the stampede anybody die in a stampede no nobody died they trapped the [ __ ] antelope or whatever yeah yeah yeah here's the [ __ ] crazy part here's the [ __ ] crazy part so this [ __ ] I guess I guess you weren't here I bought this book on Kindle of this this book that has been cited by Wikipedia and all these are other articles including Hollywood Reporter this book is what people cite for these comparisons to The Lion King and Kimba and like literally they they include this [ __ ] Stampede scene in here the wildebeest stampede Kimba running wild the antelope stampede this is the episode that they're talking about and this is included unlike Wikipedia and all these other articles as yeah they wrote a book the book is called watching anime , reading manga 25 years of essays and and Kimba and The Lion King is one chapter on this and so their argument for including this particular seed is like oh yeah remember when Simba was like dangling from a tree well they're part of it for a brief moment in this episode the what's-his-face character is dangling from a tree and since this character is a zoo and is flying there it's like oh no that's the same scene that's the same scene guys see it's literally the Lion King guys it's literally the light blanking The Lion King watched this scene as it was like you know what this is the perfect set piece for a dramatic moment when Simba loses his dad they saw this scene and they were like yeah we're gonna rip off this scene for when Simba's dad dies what I'm sorry this is [ __ ] this is absolute [ __ ] [ __ ] and the people who believe that this has any weight have not seen the show or are incredibly biased weeb furries I get it you might be like emotionally attached to these characters you might be obsessed with these characters in a way that shouldn't that shouldn't take precedence over over having any kind of attempted objectivity in your own thoughts it's ridiculous it's absolutely ridiculous and the same author petals the same [ __ ] of like oh yeah well the character Paulie cracker is just like Zazu and yet look at how we're on episode 40 look at how many [ __ ] clips I have a polly cracker being an angry [ __ ] this is his character he's got anger issues this is him this is the most defining character trait look at all these clips I have this is more clips more more episodes in instances of this than there are of claw being a villain in the show does anybody remember Zazu being anything like this at all what the [ __ ] just cuz they're Birds this is [ __ ] this is actual [ __ ] they're not the same character at all look at how much [ __ ] it's like every episode just cuz they're burnt you're not allowed to have a bird you're not allowed to have a bird in your lion show yeah there's there's there's a warthog first time we've seen them since that one episode looks like yeah just like in in the scene I guess here's Polly bein mr. angry again notice I have like infinitely more clips at my disposal to prove my arguments then then the counter arguments that exist notice how I've got like an entire [ __ ] wealth here I mean at the end of the day comes down to perspective it really does cuz like if you're willing if you're willing to believe that very minut things that can either be chucked up to tropes or coincidence very easily as I'm going to prove with my video like they can fall into either of those two categories if you believe that those things are like literally just like justification for for accusing artists of copyright infringement or plagiarism if you believe that then there's nothing anybody can do to change your mind like you look at several different copyright places cases throughout history there's tons of music related ones like I consider myself to be somebody that knows a decent amount about music not necessarily like music history but at least how music works from from a this is funny image right here how music works from a musicians perspective I guess and there are so many instances of I guess I'll add I'll create a human conflict section like so there was like the I think it was like Coldplay versus Joe Satriani and the average person will listen to the two songs and be like yeah he stole it they're the same but none of those people write music and none of those people understand how music works and they just like they listen to the chord progression it's like yeah it's like kind of the same chord progression not understanding that like if you're going to make like a 4/4 time accessible radio song there's only so many chord progressions you can work with it wasn't the same tempo it wasn't the same instruments it wasn't the same tone right like they can it exists completely independently from each other just because they have the same chord progression for one part and not even like the same lyrics not even the same melody not even the same places in the song where the lyrics are that's it and people are like it's the same people just believe this [ __ ] it's insane like people don't understand how any of this [ __ ] works they really don't a bunch of people who don't create art pretending like they have some sort of authority on what copyright infringement is or like trying to pretend like they have some sort of authority on like the inner workings of the mind of a person who creates art of like oh they must have stolen it they couldn't possibly have come to that same idea independently of the other of the other property existing right it's so stupid it's incredibly stupid people don't understand how this [ __ ] works music movies etc like these are people that don't create anything they don't understand how the creative process works there was like I wish I could find this because it would be actually really good to use in this video as an example there were there there's tons of posts on reddit I don't see them as frequently as I used to but there's like a bunch in my memory of people going like they ripped off my song and gets like a billion up votes and it's like my song was used in a commercial and literally all the song was was like they took a classic royalty-free song and added a beat to it and it was like a really generic beat and then they saw this commercial where basically the same thing had been done but their original creation wasn't original to begin with like there's nothing about it that you could say like oh yeah that's that's an original thing that someone had to have ripped you off that someone if they came to the same idea would have had to have ripped you off to do that right there's so many of those there's a lot of those and I wish like I didn't save them or anything because I didn't think I'd need to use them as context for a point that I'm making in a review but I've seen those so many times before where people are convinced that someone has ripped off their work but their work wasn't original to begin with that's a problem that's that's a huge [ __ ] problem and it's it's a delusion it really is and in terms of like this whole Kimber [ __ ] from what I've seen so far and I've I've obviously gone through the vast majority of the 3,000 plus minutes of Kimba at this point from what I've seen it really just seems like another one of those cases where Tezuka who is familiar with his own works notices a couple similarities here and there and is like what how did they come up with this but what they came up with wasn't exactly original to begin with being having lions is like the king of the jungle that's like Aesop fables level [ __ ] right like that goes back way far in time that's but that that's that's folklore that's not a thing you invented people falling off cliffs and fighting each other that's not a thing you invented you know the Lions being the main character and then other characters existing in the show one may be a warthog one may be a bird one may be a [ __ ] baboon there's only so many animals in Africa like you didn't invent that [ __ ] and I can understand if if you are delusional enough to be like they must have ripped off my [ __ ] but at the end of the day it never made its way to court and I don't think Tezuka brought it to the same degree as all of these dishonest manipulative youtubers and article writers have that's my main argument here is not with Tezuka cuz I don't even think his initial complaint was like that extreme at all I think he was like oh there's a couple similarities here I wish they would have credited me I I I love Disney I credited Disney as my inspirations I'm upset that they didn't credit me that was basically his complaint right whereas like everybody who heard that and then made these comparison videos where they literally took footage from the 1997 Kimba movie as a comparison to support their claims oh holy [ __ ] or like one-off characters in a single episode out of like 3000 minutes of Kimba footage you're gonna say like oh look there was a shot of a warthogs but at one point they did that in the Lion King 90 minutes versus 3000 minutes you're full of [ __ ] you're dishonest [ __ ] your actual terrible people because you have to know that you're acting dishonestly you have to know that you're acting in bad faith and since I've started these streams some of them have they've disabled their comments on some of these most popular Kimba versus Lion King videos they've disabled their comments since I've started these streams and it's been like somewhat public and it's like well what the [ __ ] clearly you're ashamed of something they have to know they're acting in bad faith they have to know that there's no doubt in my mind because they checked their comments before and everybody leaving comments were like I can't believe I you know what when I heard the Lion King Kimba controversy I thought maybe they just ripped off the name Kimba and Simba but now after watching this video I realized that they ripped off the entire movie from people leaving these comments who think that Kimba is a single 90-minute film not 3000 minutes worth of a bunch of [ __ ] it's an entirely unfair comparison I think that is absolutely [ __ ] and I am I am [ __ ] ready I am eager for someone to make a gigantic reddit post who has actually seen all of the show or any of it because it seems like everybody that's been arguing with me over the past three or four months has not seen the show and I'm waiting for someone to be arguing with me that is actually seen it it's [ __ ] ridiculous I can't believe people are so stupid it's ridiculous why are you arguing with me if you haven't seen the show how can you be confident in a position that you know nothing about you're repeating your parenting what other people have said this is stupid by the time my video is made I've done all the [ __ ] research there that I've done like 90% of it there's only a few stones left unturned at this point which is why I'm so confident in my position now because I've actually done my [ __ ] research and watched the [ __ ] watch the [ __ ] read the [ __ ] books downloaded the Kindle of people making these arguments that are sourced and cited on the [ __ ] wiki okay like I'm doing my [ __ ] research Jesus Christ it's it's bad enough that it's like common knowledge that that something is just completely wrong it's bad enough that people are just stupid enough to just believe what they hear on the Internet it is an extra level of bad that people are actively white knighting Kimba who haven't seen it that is a whole new level of crazy and I'm sorry to the person that made that gigantic long thoughtful reddit post in my subreddit and also the flix subreddit detailing the Kimba controversy but it was very [ __ ] clear from your post that you have not seen the show why are you making that post why are you so passionate about defending Kimba when you don't know anything about it you've only heard what other people have said that's ridiculous I hope that none of you are harassing this person I hope that that's not why they turn their comments off because when I looked at their kind even after I'd like seeing their streams I didn't see any harassment I saw some like criticism but I didn't see any harassment so I hope that nobody's harassing them I don't think anybody is I just I just think that it's those videos are so so incredibly dishonest and manipulative I can't believe it all right maybe maybe maybe let's watch this let's see if this is some dimension and by the way I want it I want to make absolutely clear I'm not [ __ ] on kimba in its place in history because it has a very important place in history Kimba is is a monumental show that is paved the way for animation it was the first color broadcast animated show on Japanese television it Tezuka inspired what you currently see as anime today not gonna take that away obviously but I have many many many issues with just how far people take The Lion King controversy that's my criticism sound degrading though anyway on with the interview I'm I'm trying not to read into this too much but already I'm getting like the impression like yeah they've they've got a chip on their shoulder about Kimba like that's the entire why would you I'm sorry like like you you wouldn't make a video like you wouldn't make a video like this where you're using footage from the 1997 film did you see how quickly I was able to skip to a point in the video where they were using footage from the 1997 film that came out three years after the Lion King yeah that's just like it's a third of the video there's no way you would make something like this unless you've got a chip on your shoulder about The Lion King for being a popular thing that people can talk about when what you really love is Kimba and you're sad that you can't talk to anybody about Kimba you're sad about it that's whatever that's fine but like that doesn't mean that you should start throwing accusations of plagiarism at the artists who created the Lion King in ways that are entirely manipulative and now your comments are turned off Wow [ __ ] off I'm trying not to be a bully I just this is incredibly immoral to me you know like this is a smaller youtuber and in a way I feel like kind of bad cause like I'm directing some negative attention towards them but like this is a big issue like that without this video I don't know if many people would believe the kimba controversy as what they think it is right now without this video and other videos exactly like it look at this [ __ ] see this white line down the center of this look at the Hollywood Reporter look look at the first thing they use look at this this is from the 97 film they don't know that they trusted this person who used who made this comparison with this white line down in the middle this is their editing and it spread to other articles it spread to other articles huffington post look at this look at this oh where is it is this the one no it's not it's not having Tim post where's the other one oh look at this the white line and where did they get this footage where did they get this footage from in this article where did they get this footage from you have to know that you're doing something incredibly immoral here you have to know that this is from the 97 film nowhere in the article does it mention that because they don't know they trust that you've done your research but you're being dishonest and manipulative you're being a liar you're lying to people I'm pissed off and this is why they've disabled their comments cuz finally after [ __ ] two years I guess somebody did their [ __ ] research oh my god sorry I'm fired I I'm so mad [Music] well what are some of your favorite items they're an obsessive fan they have an animal avatar dude I get it I'm a furry - okay I get it I get it there's tons of obsessed people in the fandom this was your show this is what you had as a kid it probably made you a furry I get it you want you want to have more people that you can talk about Kimba - you want to have more of them but you cannot you cannot exaggerate the claims of plagiarism against actual people in the film industry who have worked hard on these projects and who are very talented passionate people that you are tarnishing their reputations just because either you think like I don't know more people will watch Kimba this way or maybe I'll get some views I don't know it's just it's a terrible thing to do to people plagiarism is a serious offense that's not to be taken lightly yeah plagiarism is a very serious offense and when you create a video like this you're kind of being like well whatever I can accuse anybody a plagiarism bribry bear it doesn't matter they're not me what the [ __ ] I'm sorry this is terrible I'm sorry this is the nerdiest [ __ ] I've ever seen in my entire life and it explains everything I'm downloading this video like I'm a my judging this person in a inaccurate way am i judging them inaccurately by saying that they're like a super fan of Kimba and this is like driven them to make this kind of content like this explains everything this is literally what I would have imagined if I hadn't seen this video I don't like internet drama I really don't and I feel terrible that I'm publicizing my distaste towards this individual but plagiarism a is a very very serious accusation and when you make videos like this and they get republished in articles like this in this that do not know that the side-by-side comparison is not from the 60s and it's actually in fact well I guess this one's from the 80s but this one's from 97 like they don't know they don't know they're just they trust that you've done your research and whether or not you've done your research you clearly have you clearly know that this is from the 97 film you clearly know that you're a Kimbo superfan why is this in your video because it's titled how similar are they and not a direct accusation of like oh they ripped it off oh yeah yeah I can get away with that I can I can weasel my way out of that title [ __ ] off so manipulative incredibly manipulative Oh do I still have those [ __ ] hmm I'm so mad I I'm so mad three million views three million views because this is this the resource that people use this is what people share if anybody asks like hey do what is Kimba the lion III what what is Kimba the White Lion did did the Lion King rip it off and people go like oh yeah check out this video this proves it that's why it has three mmm in views that's why how do you not you have to know you have to know that this that this manipulative insane video that you've made is being used as justification for people coming to the wrong conclusion about something if you want to say like hey there is a possibility that the Lion King was somewhat inspired in some senses by Kimba that's a completely different thing than this video that's a completely different thing and there's other videos on this person's channel where they go into more detail and they don't make statements that are as egregious or exaggerated as this particular video but this video exists you know it exists and you know the conclusion that this that people walk away from by watching it by the way I am NOT when I publish my video I am NOT gonna like show their channel name I understand that I'm already directing like some negative attention towards them right now but like I'm not a drama oriented person I'm gonna be I'm gonna be talking about the type of video that they're making and I'm gonna be showing clips from it but I'm not gonna be directing hate towards them and saying like hey guys tell them like what you think sort of thing bye-bye bad I'm not the type of person at all but I'm still mad I'm still mad and I guess they didn't TV etc but out of all those different versions which one is your favorite well she likes the 97 movie the best I already know this one called it to me it's just like the most when I say called it it's because I've watched some of her other videos and I knew that already I feel bad this is like a person that's like passionate about something that they love I just like like I can't honestly say that this is like anything but a very immoral thing to do like I feel really like I'm a [ __ ] hippie you know like when I think of other people every human being on the [ __ ] planet is like diluted right every [ __ ] human being is diluted in some sense and I much more quickly assume ignorant over malice like that that's a part of my character and so I feel [ __ ] bad that I've created this villain on my stream already like unintentionally but you know just because I'm researching this [ __ ] I feel bad about it I really do but like how how like you've seen the cut you responded to the comments you've seen them you see you you whether or not this video was intentionally created to leave people with that impression you know that that's what you did you know that that's what you did and now you've turned comments off cuz I've started streaming about it like come on I'm not saying remove your video like I don't know I don't know what I want I'm just like this is terrible yeah the other videos they've made so I'm going to re-watch a couple of these I've seen I believe I've seen this one before yeah so this is basically like a love letter to the 97 film which she is completely familiar with and uses in this video which is just ridiculous I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm trying not to be mean here I'm trying really really really hard not to be mean here so yeah she talks about how this is her like favorite version I don't know how many of the other videos I've seen from her I feel guilty I feel bad I don't like painting people in a negative light I really don't I know people want drama I like I just don't like involving myself in joy which I know is like really weird to say after I've already talked about this person a lot on my streams Jessica wiki or fan page or what a maybe seven we cancelled vert my noise Oh God oh no no oh let's watch that part again Claire mm Kong country for a Nintendo 64 in 1997 both were canceled for racism that is a subtle implication that those video games were cancelled because the Lion King video games exist that is a subtle that that whisper and then showing the Lion King video game she she has a bone to pick she has a chip on her shoulder those video games were cancelled because the Lion King video games exists let's look at the okay okay let's do some [ __ ] research right now let's do some [ __ ] research right now all right what were the years of these Kimbo games I need to find these in Kimba video games this is ridiculous I'm sorry this is like parody level this is ridiculous one of oh my god my god what a moor it was going to be released hmm I'm so mad jungle Emperor it was going to be released November 1990 November 1990 and here you are in your YouTube video making an implication that a video game for a film that wasn't released until 1994 is the reason that it didn't get exist what this is [ __ ] this is [ __ ] I'm sorry what the [ __ ] 1990 is four years before 94 I don't think the Lion King video game was released until after the movie I don't think it was released until after the film why oh my god you've got such a chip on your shoulder you hate the Lion King you honestly hate it you hate it because you love Kimba and you're mad that the Lion King was successful in Kimble wasn't I mean Kimba was in Japan but Jesus the second was that's the wrong game she well she says both she says both both were cancelled for she says both so weather what do you mean the run like the other one cuz she says both so yeah there's a there's one made released later 1997 yeah that's the one after but she says both she says both and then just points to the Lion King as though there's some massive conspiracy that The Lion King was responsible for canceling their games when it didn't exist it didn't even exist yet I'm sorry that's [ __ ] that's incredible [ __ ] the second are you just gonna like whisper the Jewish conspiracy or some [ __ ] you're gonna like put three brackets around the Lion King what is this what is this kind of implication when you're doing [ __ ] like this then I can't possibly believe I can't possibly believe that this video was made with like ignorance instead of malice this was totally malice you you hate the Lion King oh my god you're you have a bone to pick holy [ __ ] christ just like have your fandom enjoy your [ __ ] don't lie don't lie about things what the [ __ ] in the first episode of your you can't even claim ignorance because you're a kimba fan you know all of this [ __ ] not only that but Kimbo was never a coward she's so attached my name was little coward well yeah so basically all right so anybody none of you have watched this show obviously none of you have watched this show so the there was a sequel series to Kimba in 1966 or 67 either a year or two after the original show it didn't get an English dub until the 1980s and when it was dubbed it was dubbed by the Christian Broadcasting Network the dub was [ __ ] awful it was the worst dub I've ever heard in my entire life and what basically what they did so the original Kimba in Japan his name was Leo and then for the American version as you've heard the the person through NBC that was localizing it for America was like okay we need a different name they decided oh yeah Simba is lion in Swahili we'll change it to Kim because it's more marketable so that's why he's Kimba and not Leo and then when this series got created because it was under an entirely different group of people basically they were like oh well let's keep his name Leo but then one of the people that was creating dialogue for the show was like oh no we need to explain in case people have seen the original American show why his name is Leo instead of Kimba so they added in some [ __ ] into the show saying like oh yeah my name used to be Kimba because it meant coward and now I'm a big boy Kimba was never a coward it's like there's such a very clear emotional attachment very clear emotional oh oh you're right I might like this video oh god hold on I see this title huh I'm not gonna be happy with this am i this is you understand why I'm making my own video about this right why can't just possibly be with in the Lion King review there's such a gigantic rabbit hole that I've fallen into that like apparently nobody else has except for like diehard Kimba fans that are willing to lie about the Lion King because they love Kimba so much and they're met at the Lion King [ __ ] christ this is ridiculous this is ridiculous this is absolutely [ __ ] ridiculous all right oh I'm so mad I'm so mad should I check out all the videos from this channel' like God well before I get into this I wanna cover my time a little bit I love the Lion King along with the Land Before Time it's my favorite movie franchise as a kid so I'm by no means hating on the banking right the first and second films were fearfully animated big strong stories and great music hahaha you can tell the guy's a furry cuz he likes this the second line let that that's a dead giveaway if somebody says I liked The Lion King to furry my favorite movie franchises by no means hating on the Lion King wait the first one second films were beautifully animated but I mean if the animal avatar didn't give it away already but music but it is awfully suspicious that the Lion King features almost exact copies of several characters written by the white line including but not limited to a gang of cowardly thugs who work for the main bad guy and provide comic relief and evil lion who views himself as the rightful heir to the throne has to take it from the main protagonist to violence and me please don't say oh that's bad that's bad already why why does anybody think this why does anybody think that oh I need to hear them justify this why is that funny old baboon who has a mental figure giving advice to the main protagonist and telling him off when using matura and it's more traffic alert who's the advisor to the king and considers himself cultured and refined but it's constantly the bottom jokes you were you're oh I never used the term reductionist much before but this is reductionist that this it the only way you can make the comparison between Zazu and poly is if you boil it down to the most basic basic elements to the point where it's not a true representation of the character it's not a true representation of the character anymore when you get to a point where you say that Zazu and poly are the same character I'm sorry either you don't understand the characters and you didn't pick up on anything about the characters or you're just being dishonest and you and you want to believe you want to believe that Disney ripped off this film and it's fine and I can understand if people believe that Disney ones ins inspired by some parts of this movie that's fine that's totally logical and plausible but to go to this degree I don't understand why people push it to a degree that is so out of reality I don't understand that why does it need to be times a billion of what the original complaint is by Tezuka I don't think Tezuka mentioned what I'm gonna have to do more [ __ ] research but I'm pretty [ __ ] sure Tezuka didn't mention these two birds I'll have to find out I could be eating my own foot right now but if Tezuka mentioned those two birds as being the same characters that I'm gonna have to disagree with him to right now I don't based on what I know about his original complaint but if he if he says that Polly and Zazu are the same character I'm gonna be furious about his original complaint and what it's spun because that is [ __ ] that is absolute [ __ ] this is pushing it this is pushing it they're entirely different characters they're entirely different characters there's just the same animal really and these are so far gone that like I cannot take you seriously when you say Paulie and Zazu are the same character I can no longer take you seriously and I believe you are incredibly biased there's no like you you lose my ability to believe that you're acting in good faith when you say that these two characters are the same I'm sorry you're either stupid or dishonest I'm sorry just look at this video by my face I'm sorry wait hold on let's listen to that one more time there's no protocol bird who's the advisor to the king and considers himself cultured and refined but he's constantly divided up jokes considers himself cultured and refined I've watched through pretty much all of Kimba like all 3,000 minutes of all the shows right now I'm struggling to think of an example where he considers himself cultured and refined I'm struggling to think of an example of that I really don't believe that Paulie has an anger issue that's entirely different I'm sorry seven straight minutes it seems in close thought that a copy pasted straight from Kimba the White Lion need to go you're a Kimba fan and you're using clips that show the 1997 film against the 1994 The Lion King your entire channel is your your Kimba fandom it's one thing to be like oh yeah my friend made this video showing the clip differences between the two but you literally jumped straight its straight straight to the 97 film pretending the 94 film was ripping off of the 97 why are you using those clips so that's one 97 movie concept that with a copy pasted straight to him of the white line you could align the audio and dialogue that you are speaking should be supporting the visuals that you are using am I not fair in making that suggestion am I not fair in making the suggestion that the visuals that you are showing in your video should support the audio that you're speaking right now because if somebody's watching this video and they haven't seen Kimba what you're directly implying here downloading this [ __ ] what you're directly implying here is that the footage on the right is [ __ ] that came before the Lion King that's what you're implying right now in a very direct manner that is how editing works this is the 97 movie this is 94 I'm pissed off I'm very pissed off night I hope I'm not seriously wrong about this but I've seen all of it now I'm pretty sure like I know that this is the 97 movie this is 94 I'm actually mad I've seen some cons I thought that a copy pasted straight for him to the one lighting to the lighting yeah why no means am I saying the Lion King is an original one of my favorite things in any art form including animation is where someone takes a scene or character from the pizzas in work and puts it in your context giving a whole new meaning and the lighting does a great job at that George Lucas leader - it's Star Wars the same story elements and even musical phrases were exactly from another work but we're placing a new context even the meantime a new meaning I love that let's really cool the problem however is that while George Lucas gave credit to the original sources interviews and special features these neonates employers repeatedly denied getting any inspiration drinking with the white wine by just taking the scenes and characters these anywhere doing nothing wrong but by refusing to give credit to the writers and animators at montezuma production yeah but for countless Disney is an [ __ ] for for completely denying the possibility for sure I disagree with how Disney handled the situation publicly 100% no argument there my argument is use when you when you say in your video The Lion King ripped off concept art and visuals directly from Kimba and show the 97 movie seven straight minutes of scenes and concept thought that really copy-pasted strike for income of the white knighting into the Lion King what the [ __ ] you have you have to know this your your Kimba fan your old channels Kimba yeah you have to know that well how do you not what original one of my favorite things in any art form including animation is where someone takes a scene or character from the pre-existing work and puts it in your context giving a whole new meaning and the lighting does a great job at that George Lucas do the two it's Duggal's many of the same story elements and even musical phrases were it exactly from another work but were placed in a new context leaving them in entirely new meaning and not that that's really cool the problem however is that well done Lucas gave credit to the original sources and interviews and special features these neonates employers repeatedly denied getting any inspiration from him at the white line why just taking the scenes and characters Disney were doing nothing wrong but by refusing to give credit to the writers and animators at mushy and Tezuka productions who worked for countless how is the bring those scenes and characters to life and what did was unacceptable so that's what everyone's so upset about but why did it happen well to answer that we have to go right back to basics what do you copyright and how did it become a thing in the first place copyright basically means that the original okay i won I wonder if this person's going to mention the differences between American and Japan in copyright laws I wonder there's an image story or other creative work has the exclusive right to create and distribute copies at all though how does that work it was originally created so that artists could have exclusive ownership over their work for long enough to make enough money from it to survive if all the work could be released by the rest of society to reimagine and recontextualize elements of the work to tell whole new stories as people have done for centuries how long was long enough well when copyright was first introduced to the United States twenty-eight years yes that's right twenty-eight years if copyright law was still being implemented the way it was originally intended no one would even own star wars by now anyone completely disagree with how copyright law has gone 100 percent new movies with the characters and scenes from Star Wars and obviously that seems they're enough to me George Lucas made a lot of money in 48 years yeah we didn't need the franchise for any longer than that and stobbles is a central part of this needs to blame I hate Disney I hate Disney but I'm defending them on this particular instance my personal feeling a peer review evidence base 2009 study by The Economist Rufus [ __ ] found with 95 percent confidence that the ideal length of the copyright term the both artists and the economy as a whole he's between 0 and 38 years so what changed if the length of copyright terms was originally 28 years and evidence suggests they should be 38 at the very longest why is the length of copyright in almost every country on Earth now the authors in Peyer lifetime plus 50 years yeah agrees happened yeah nobody to lose the 1% is Disney and similar organizations lobby governments can increase the length of copyright again and again yeah that's true so thanks to the law that they themselves pushed for but his new corporation wasn't allowed to use scenes and characters freaking with the white lion and if they're not well that's where you're wrong copyright law is not international I'm sorry you you you've made an entire speech on American copyright law that does not apply in Japan he'll be writing again throughout the 20th century so thanks to the law that they themselves pushed for a lot that doesn't apply in Japan I'm sorry role characters isn't even seen thanks to the law that they themselves pushed for what do you mean that's not international that's federal lobbying governments to increase the length of copyright again and again throughout the 20th century so thanks to the Lord that they themselves pushed for the Disney Corporation wasn't allowed to use scenes and characters breaking with the white lion and if there's just a bane there I Lauren not using the content they just decided to deny any connection to the original reckon it would be entirely hypocritical blah sorry it would be entirely hypocritical i 100% agree if Disney ripped off Kimba the White Lion I'm unconvinced that that is the case though if you get the fact they could bankrupt the Phoenix PD I'd like to see productions repeated appeals would be enough to discourage any potential lawsuits which was of course tsuki productions have never pursued legal action at this point copyright is gone from away of protecting authors in small studios from having their profit stolen from them to abide medical durations bullying small creators stealing their ideas without credit and getting away from it while small creators are barred from reinterpreting significant cultural works like Star Wars and Mickey Mouse even sold the work or even passed away longer protects creative people instead forces them to join a mega corporation and tell their stories that company want them to tell or just being bullied around and having their original work taken without credit so help me fix it well in terms of the law itself we need to change copyright law so that after 38 years at most anyone is free to reproduce and reinterpret if I agree but indefinitely after the work is created anyone who does reproduce all the interpret it should be required to get credit the original creator is that was the law in 1996 then didn't he would have been free to create the lion team without any fear of legal repercussions if they admit to taking scenes written with the white line and Kimba the White Lion wouldn't receive the credit it deserved and have been introduced to a whole new audience so we need to take the lorry again again people just upset that Kimba didn't get the promotion it deserved in Kimba the White Lion would receive the credit it deserved and perhaps be introduced to a whole new audience so we need to fix a lawyer and make it like that moving forwards but the more fundamental problem here is with our legal system big corporations can effectively buy their way out legal trouble as long as people have to pay for legal fees corporations are able to just bankrupt any ordinary person or small business wants to exercise their legal rights even if the corporation is legally speaking completely in them all right hold on I'm gonna look at this image here so ask for boys at the bottom here corporations are able to just bankrupt that's that that's a part that's a part of like the idea here that is perpetuated by this controversy is that like Tezuka just didn't have the money cause like it didn't have the money to pursue Disney in court and yeah Disney's a huge company I understand but it's not like Tezuka was like some poor person like Jessica was like the godfather of anime right even if the corporation is legally speaking completely in the wrong they can get away with it I'm the parent system we need to change our justice system so that whichever party spends the most on legal fees in a case needs to pay the other party in the case enough to cover the difference so that neither side has even have sailed in advantage so in this case if Masuka productions poop Disney decourt cazuca productions had say a million dollars they were willing to spend him Disney had 10 million then Disney would give 4 million through what's bazooka productions legal expenses and both parties would spend fighting that's weird no one would have an unfair advantage and Disney wouldn't be able to make rap to Zuka productions with repeat Appeals the case we actually decided based on the evidence and arguments both sides provided and not based on who had more money to spin we place of these improvements to our legal system place a missing life the king of the white line / The Lion King drama will never happen again and we'll have a fair system to protect all the world hottest and encourage creativity yeah I'm sure I'm sure it is like I think it might be possible to do some sort of like international lawsuit but I think that's more complex than what this video is suggesting encourage creativity assistant up your humor and SEMA would be proud look at this free art ooh two minutes of black screen very artistic all right um I'm mad cleans the blanket but we don't use clips from the 1997 film please stop using clips from the night oh it's so manipulative also no it's the mother my client was created in 1950 by Japanese comic artists with some Jessica there's a comic book NL made a series a megacity 5 here the general falls the story of Kimba the White Lion must reclaim his kingdom if anyone just be honest about it just be just say it dynasty as it comes extremely popular in some countries but that's rewarding part of success look another second often referred to as the what is new Japan there's reference forgive me was no secret pianist video really admitted but came by was heavily inspired by them and didn't even pro teams would have to conform for the W market in 1853 our natives do probably in Japan given the kingdom s confer products across the country we the same lines basically here the double enjoyed popularity from 1950s to 1980s ending the death of its creator and make an eighty nine just still using clips from the 97 movie eighties ending the death of its creator in the key nine that senior the wine can be a version it was at least a critical claim the 1984 why are you like what you're not being honest you're not being honest at all it's 97 I've seen I have the blu-ray I own the blu-ray I've watched it it was released in 97 it was released in 1990 set why are you using clips from this I have the blu-ray I've seen it is there any debate over like when it was released I don't think so oh no boom oh my god one episode episode it was in one episode ok hole oh ok good you did say 1989 on that one good it's so lame it's so lame and manipulative it's so manipulative uh what are you do what is that what is this like I'm in the water what is this shot as if this is supposed to rule it like Disney ripped off this scene what are you doing what are you trying to say here that the what how are these the same just people trust that they've done their research this is ridiculous linking the Lincoln and you have a massive chip on your shoulder because of it the breakfast after the line thing is looking for use importance of the story behind [ __ ] works cited as inspiration for the film including articles is almost like a single trig period they'll have to be apologized after being compared to a certain exit okay hold on each an extraordinary but in interviews and behind-the-scenes footage works cited as inspiration for the film include Ben Hur King Arthur's Old Testament tales Moses almost like a fable Shakespearean Bettelheim Bambi in Africa with Hamlet thrown in the film continued to be mythologized often being compared to Western extend Bible Italy became even close today I don't know how big the Lion King was it is a huge name and you just used clips from a 2000 film year 2002 zero zero zero is this this is what this short film is from this animation is from the 2000 film what are you doing you're you're implying in this video him circling around Simba that there's a ripoff element from Disney why if your case is so strong that Disney ripped off Kimba why would you resort to using footage from Kimba related properties that were released after the Lion King if your argument is already made without those clips why would you use them why would you use them this is [ __ ] and the fact that it's the one that's from 2000 that's from 2000 quote your own [ __ ] video let's let's look at this [ __ ] hold on hold the [ __ ] on oh my god I'm mad I'm mad everybody I got the timeline here too look see this mm that's that's the same that's where this is from that's where that is from why would you use that's your own video that you you poor that's your own video that's your own video that said the year you are not ignorant about this you're intentionally manipulative you are lying to people you are lying that's your own video oh my god and people eat this [ __ ] up the register the line technically I'm mad I'm so mad why would you do that if your argument stands already why would you resort to that why would you resort to that why would you do that it is a huge [Music] I'm so mad and the fact that it's the Lion King is it's just one of those things like my fair lady that everybody why would you do that 1989 Tezuka productions created a posthumous film adaptation of king of the jungle I deliver Leo it was a people adaptation of the last half of the job called sorry wait a minute shouldn't productions create 1989 Tezuka productions created a pop ooh they didn't create it in 1989 they started production in 1989 they didn't create it until 1997 stop lying to people I hope you mentioned that it was a people adaptation of the last half because it wasn't the joke according only because I feel is 10-year production was trouble however it wasn't released until making 97 there you go thank you trouble too however it wasn't released until 1997 three years after the lightning Julianne rinse we're gonna go in the Cathedral in festival Disney company policy said this is where to get some wonderful hydrogen literally over there 1987 Oh yep [ __ ] that that Disney did that I don't think Disney is a good company either complete [ __ ] that Disney would make a cease and desist letter towards that film no argument there 100% that is not an excuse to lie to people the jungle Emperor Leo was released after liking fulfils the impression so what she's doing here is she's like implying a grand conspiracy by showing these clips together she's like yeah it was released in 97 but the people at Disney that worked on it see how these clips are exactly the same there's two lion cubs and a bird see how they're like the same within the context of the film especially it's like The Lion King just ripped it off even though it didn't get released until 1997 Disney they had moles at at Tezuka productions and they had spies to steal the valuable concept art to steal the valuable animation from a project that was not even deemed to be successful because it's so valuable the shot shot of two lion comes with a bird that is invented by Kimba nobody's done that before and it's such a valuable concept as soon as they saw this piece of animation they were like got it cut Ching that's some gold right there we're gonna we're gonna make sure we make a conspiracy and delay Kimba by 10 years so we can steal it for our our ninety-four movie The Lion King what the [ __ ] are you saying this is [ __ ] the jungle Emperor Leo was released after the Lion King both films began production in 1989 what are you implying despite the cease and desist order jungle Emperor you know screen to a full house though this would be the last North American screening with them ever seen this day the well Disney Company's official stance is that nobody on the team is ever good this seems unlikely yeah yeah 100% it seems unlikely I'll agree with you there Matthew Matthew Broderick is not an argument a voice actors saying that he was familiar with the original Kimba show and thinking like oh when I heard Simba I thought they said Kimba that has that literally doesn't mean anything towards your argument and I don't know why this is such a popular argument among the kimba conspiracy theorists Matthew Broderick the voice of Simba says he was familiar with a [ __ ] wait isn't yourself also refer to the language protagonist my prodigy message one year for the films we sinned Japan as production technology I discovered cousin 33 works but I don't have a bunch of eyewitnesses did not have the funds Tezuka productions was [ __ ] broke the similarities between the works but did not have the funds to file any lawsuits the controversy received little press coverage outside Japan with the notable exception of a nod from The Simpsons do most of it again making this comparison here this actually might be from the 87 show actually what was it 86 was it was it 87 or 89 this is probably from the 80s show because he actually has a scar on his face so I'm not gonna criticize that yeah you can't have the characters posing in a group shot that's copyright infringement there's nothing wrong with taking spiration for another look but whatever you Nelly is going to do so and we hundreds millions of all user it's a look at your Chinese stop using clips from the 97 movie hey guys thanks for watching as always I need to give a shout-out to my $5 patrons Mecca dong Brandon stupor Brandon J Barnard Pitt Wang Rasmus Matthew Clark bigweld from robots the
