[Music] [Applause] ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the channel and welcome back to ex defiant one of the most common questions I get in regards to this game are what are my controller settings how did I adjust to this game because no matter what so many people keep adjusting all of their settings and they can never find anything that works for them something about xde just feels off to them as compared to a game like cod and admittedly this game is different different devs different engine it's not going to feel one toone similar to Cod it's going to take a period of adjustment what I thought I would do today is show you guys my controller settings as well as give you some general aiming tips within this game because while yes it is similar to a lot of other Shooters out there there's definitely some quirks and some things about this game that are different and I'm hoping to share some of that with you guys here today so here we are within the firing range I made a video on this already but the firing range is so fantastic with the exify it's a great place to go tune your attachments tune your weapons tune your recoil as well as mess around with your controller settings with without having a bunch of people shooting back at you all the time when it comes to my controller settings they are very very basic and the advice I give everybody is just set your controller up the way you think you would like it and then from there just continuously play the game going through and changing your dead zones after every match is not going to help you changing your multipliers after every match is not going to help you changing your sensitivity constantly is not going to help you I set these settings back during one of the play tests last year and I haven't touched them and as a result I've built up that muscle memory within the game and I feel like that's why I'm not having as many issues as others when it comes to the button layout I go with brawler this is the equivalent of the Tactical button layout in COD all it does is it takes your melee off of your right stick and moves it towards the B button and then takes your Crouch button and moves it from B over to your right stick the reason why I do this is I like having all of my movement controlled within my sticks as compared to having to go over to press B it is a little wonky at times CU if I have to like Panic melee somebody because I'm out of ammo I typically lose because I have to take my thumb off the right stick and put on the B button and as such I can't aim anymore and therefore I usually die but regardless if you're having to panic and melee to get your kills you're probably not doing that good to begin with when it comes to the rest of the settings again very basic right standard aim assist we have disabled and standard you're going to want aim assist if you're playing on a controller don't adjust these the aim assist strength and follow it the lower you put it the less aim assist you're going to have period you want aim assist within the game obviously if you're playing on controller when it comes to the aim response curve type I put it on linear and that's because of the description aim rate speed is tied directly to stick movement with no dampening or boost based on input value maybe better for more experienced players basically what linear means is what you do with your stick is what your character is going to do within the game it's not going to be sped up it's not going to be slowed down the input you have as a player is going to directly tie into your aim there's going be no other funny business going on it just really comes down to your own personal aim that's why I went with that and I recommend it for other people now when it comes to sensitivity that is on you I personally have always rocked a relatively low sensitivity in COD so I put on 25 which I think might actually be the default sensitivity in this game and I haven't touched it I don't move very quickly if I have to turn yeah it takes a little bit but I'll tell you what having that lower sensitivity definitely helps you aiming down range on your targets so I recommend lower sensitivity if you're having a hard time aiming a lot of people like to you know Max that out to 100s they can spin around be movement gods and whatnot but how many movement gods do you see in this game that can't aim for that's because your sensitivity is too high definitely recommend lowering it until you get comfortable and then maybe increasing it later on when it comes to your multipliers 1.0 1.0 and your dead zones are literally just going to be dependent on your controller for me personally I use an old crusty ass Xbox controller that I bought at Walmart a while ago and it's got some pretty bad stick drift and so therefore I adjusted my dead zones to get rid of some of that stick drift but other than that yeah it's really dependent on your controller and then your acceleration speed multiplier your access and all that that is just personal preference then I don't have vibration on I usually do in a lot of these games but for whatever reason I just don't have vibration on EX defiant and it feels pretty good to me one of the things about EX defant in general I think a lot of people are struggling with is recoil and time to kill if you're coming over from a game like Modern Warfare 2 then subsequently Modern Warfare 3 those games have a much faster time to kill in this game you can actually test it out in the firing range a P90 at 50 m is a 10 shot kill it's a six shot kill up close the M4 I think is like a 7even shot kill at 50 m you have to land a lot more of your shots in this game and recoil is also a major factor as well as we have a little bit of bullet velocity which can cause your bullets to feel like they're missing a lot of people are talking about hit registration and things like that well I think a lot of the time while there is hit registration issues for sure I think a lot of time people are just missing their shots because of recoil down range here we are back in the practice Zone which is a great place to test out your recoil the thing about The Recoil with an exify is it's very predictable on every single weapon and it's virtually the same every time it's not going to be random we can figure this out by simply testing out our gun as you can see we have that recoil plot right there we start shooting again and look at that it's virtually the exact same recoil every single time the bullets go virtually the same place every single time and as such learning your weapons and learning how The Recoil works is very important but also making micro adjustments outside of your right stick can help you out a lot a lot of pro players do this in Call of Duty but instead of using your right stick to help you aim and mitigate that up into the right recoil you can also pull down into the left with your left stick and use it that way so what we do here instead of really adjusting things with our right stick we can just slowly move back into the left a little bit with which gives our character a little bit of movement makes us a bit of a harder Target but also it helps to mitigate a lot of that recoil that we have down range obviously it's going to be harder the further out you go but you can actually hit a lot of your shots on those 50 m ranges by simply pulling back into the right on a lot of the weapons while trying to adjust with your right stick just a little bit this will definitely take some getting used to but I think that's one of the best tips I can give for a lot of people on exify is just to Simply go ahead and do that when it comes to the time to kill again it's like a seven shot kill down range we can go very slowly here with the M4 and and thanks to the firing range that we have here in this game we can see it takes seven bullets to kill hitting seven shots that far down range can definitely be difficult but it takes a little bit of getting used to honestly mitigating The Recoil is a lot more difficult here in exify as compared to Cod because in a lot of Call of Duty games you just get the right attachments on and eventually your gun just becomes an absolute laser beam you don't even have to try I mean look at what people do in war zone virtually every meta war zone build out there there is zero recoil on the weapon whereas here next to FY even with a lot of the good attachments you're going to have a good amount of kick and a lot of time that kick is going to be up and to the right depending on your weapon again whatever weapon you're looking towards you just go into the practice range equip that weapon put on your attachments go test out the recoil patterns practice mitigating that recoil and then try using your left stick a little bit to help mitigate it by moving in the opposite direction of where your recoil initially wants to go that can help you out with aiming a lot here in this game I think for a lot of people the lack of aim assist plus the fact that the guns actually have recoil and you have to deal with that down range coupled in with the longer time to kill in this game are causing a lot of people just feel like the game doesn't have very responsive controls and they're having difficulty getting used to it I promise you if you go practice your weapons and if you stick to one button layout one sensitivity one multiplier one everything eventually you'll build up that muscle memory and then it's all going to become second nature and you're going to start seeing a marked improvement in your aim as well as your scores while playing the X defiant multiplayer now one thing I would like to point out here Mark ruin did make this tweet here the other day PSA for controller players one thing I do in the settings menu is turn acceleration speed multiplier to zero and then raise my sensitivity to 4040 or higher let me know if that feels better for you as well so I thought I would test that out here today and just see how things are feeling so immediately I can tell you that the game does not feel natural for me which is one of the things I keep saying to everybody pick your controller settings and then just stick to them like if I'm constantly jumping around and trying out different things like this things are just going to feel really weird and really awkward like right now I do not like my sensitivity I'm used to the sensitivity that I have switching to this I know my aim is going to be worse I know if I jump into the multiplayer I'm not going to be doing nearly as good because my sensitivity and everything feels a little bit off feels a little bit different isn't unplayable no but because I've already built up that muscle memory with the previous settings I was using I feel much more comfortable with them and therefore I'm going to do better with them now this may work for you you guys can go ahead and take Mark rubin's tweet to heart and go try it out for yourselves and maybe you'll get used to it maybe you'll like it but for me the settings that I've had with this game since it came out are the settings I'm going to keep on using again 25 sensitivity works for me me then when it comes to the acceleration speed down here just keep it at 1.0 these are the settings that I like these are the settings that I am used to and this is how I personally like playing X defiant but again it may change a little bit based on you and based on how you like to play and your own personal sensitivity preferences and things like that but guys there's my video for you here today A lot of people keep asking me about my sensitivity and my button layouts and how I'm doing all these things with the NEX defiant well there's the answer those are my controller settings that is my setup I hope you guys enjoyed the video leave your thoughts and feedback down there in the comments thank you all so much for listening and I hope you you guys all have a wonderful day [Music]
