what is up everybody it is ogg here back with another video and in today's video we are going to be talking about the top 10 frequently asked questions that i get and that pertain to aoe farming whether it be gold farming or power leveling with a mage so i get questions a lot during the stream if you guys haven't checked out the stream and you want to see some mage farms or even paladin farms now that we're working up with our paladin or even hunter and raids and things like that definitely check out the twitch linked down below where i'm happy to answer any questions you guys have and walk through some of these farms as we're doing them but during those streams i get a lot of questions about you know what farms to do what should i be doing you know what kind of gear do i need etc and so i wanted to compile a list of the top 10 frequently asked questions run through them so that everybody who has questions has a place to go for them so let's jump into it coming in at number 10 we have what are the best professions for aoe farming so ultimately this is going to come down to the farms that you are going to be doing if you're going to be doing a farm like dmes for example you're going for a gathering and you're going to be using herbalism and things like that to make extra money or maybe jump runs where you're going to be using mining you're going to need you know herbalism or mining but in general the best professions are most likely going to be herbalism and engineering engineering gives you a lot of viability with grenades in clutch situations where you need them or just to do extra damage or pool extra mobs there's a lot of different uses you can get on engineering and herbalism is useful in zg it's also useful in dm and mara even as well for some extra gold so at number nine we have how to properly loot fast so there's a bunch of different add-ons out there liatrix plus has a looting fast add-on there's monk or speed auto loot or something like that fast loot loop plus there's a bunch of different add-ons out there that basically allow you to loot faster but ultimately the way that i found to loot the fastest possible which really helps speed up your runs is through a combination of keybinds and add-ons so i already made a full video describing how to do it but it's basically interacting with mouse overs plus other add-ons that allow loot to pop up on the middle of the screen and stuff like that so i'll link that up above and i'll also link that in the description down below if you guys would like to check out that video at number eight we have how much resistance do i need for each farm so believe it or not you actually don't need resistance for most farms you don't need it for zg i personally don't even use it for sm armory but there are two dungeons in which i would recommend resistance and then there's also brd where you definitely need a lot of resistance but we'll talk about that in a second so for mara and sm cath these are the two common dungeons that people are doing that i would recommend having some resistance for for mara the resistance is going to be nature because we're trying to resist the nature bolts to try to get back mana but also just to keep up our shield so we're not getting interrupted so i would recommend having a minimum of 50 nature resistance if you're level 60 doing it if you're a lower level get as much as you can if you're trying to solo it at 54 just try to get as much as you can if you can get the trinket if you can get the cape and if you can get you know some rings and things like that maybe glowing brightwood staff that'd be great and you can have you know as much nature resistance as possible however if you're level 60 you don't need as much nature resistance because you already have a lot of resistance implicit in the fact that you're level 60 versus a level 43 or 44 mob for sm cath kind of the same kind of idea where you already have a lot of resistance but that being said there's frostbolts and there's arcane slows now this arcane slow when you look at wowhead says that it's nature i just don't think it's nature it's an arcane ability i do not see it being nature so i personally would probably say arcane resistance for that would probably help with the slow but i can't confirm 100 on that but frost resistance is definitely necessary one frost bowl could really be a game changer if you're getting slowed and if you're not used to the ron once you get used to it frostbolts won't matter as much because you'll be used to handling it but definitely would recommend having at a minimum 50 frost resistance maybe even more it's let's say let's say 30 unbuffs so that when you're buffed you can have a decent amount i personally run with 90 frost resistance when i do sm calf and i don't actually switch over to armory to get any fire assistance if you do want to go over to armory and just have a little bit more resistance so you aren't getting hit by any fireballs and you're just resisting more which you should already resist most of them then you can go ahead and get some fire resistance for armory but it's not really useful or not necessary rather but with cath you for sure will need frost resistance so i'd recommend at a minimum 50 i personally run with 90 and then for mara i would recommend again a minimum of 50 if you're 60 and if you're a lower level as much as you can brd is a little bit different because the mobs are actually going to be green to you and so the fire elementals are what you're going to be concerned about now the fire elementals the way that the scaling works is you have a percent chance to resist and then you have the actual damage getting resisted and so you're taking less damage i would recommend 150 fire resistance at least for brd if you can have more that's even better but i believe that 150 if i remember correctly back when i did the calculations will help you to at least mitigate half the damage a good amount of the time so that you can then keep up your shields longer and keep those blizzards rolling typically though you only want to have two to three fire elementals on you so it's not crazy that you have 300 but it does definitely help with the more fire resistance that you can get because you should hopefully not be getting hit by melee at all throughout the run coming in at number seven we have how much gear do you actually need for each farm so a lot of people ask me this a lot about what specific gear that they need for each farm and we just talked about the resistances but at the end of the day you really don't need a ton of gear for any farm so here is one of the challenges that i recently did where i did a no ui no gear zg 11 pack pool and so granted gear is definitely going to help gear is going to make every single farm easier especially if you have the five piece another one set but at the end of the day you do not need to have gear to complete really any of these farms but it does help a ton so what i would recommend as far as gear for each farm as a minimum just to make it a little bit easier is for sm i would recommend having about 2500 health and 5500 mana for mara i would recommend the same maybe a little bit more mana if you can working your way up through some of the more challenging farms brd you definitely want to have a good amount of mana so you can try to outlast as much as possible and then for zg you probably want to be looking at about 6500 to 7000 mana and if you're gonna do the panther pack with the 20 pack pools you're probably going to want to have you know 8 to 9 000 mana ultimately though the kind of gear that you want is with intellect and stamina so you want as much intellect and stamina as possible and then if you're going to do a long fight kind of or a long end phase kind of like zg you're going to want some spirit as well or some mp5 so you can continue outlasting overall though the gear does not make it it's really the understanding of the pools the repetition of the pool is the practice and things like that that is going to make it so you can do this 10 out of 10 times and number six we have the question of how do you kite with cone of cold and so this is a question i get asked all the time because a lot of people when they're first getting started with their majors they see crazy kona cold farms and even going back to the very beginning of classic when mages were farming cf and things like that they're using kona cold to kill you know 40 mobs at once but kona cold kayak is a little bit more different or a little bit more challenging than it just looks at face value there's leeway involved there's other things like that and so you really have to practice it a lot so what i did was i want to made a video about kona cold kiting and maybe just some like early tips for helping people whether they want to use the back pedal strategy whether they want to use a strafe strategy just to kind of help them get used to how to conical kite in general and then what you have to do is you have to go out there and you have to practice a lot and that is really what's going to get it down once you learn the leeway once you learn the mechanics you're gonna be good to go with conical kiting but i'll link the video down below and up above so you guys can check that out and watch that if you are more interested in some in-depth tutorial of how to do cotton cold cutting another question i get a lot is what are good solo leveling locations for aoe farming and honestly i'm going to refer this right over to joker so basically joker'd leveled up and he was the first person to hit 60 and he did it all from aoe farming with his mage and i am eventually going to be trying to do this myself where i go from 1 to 60 with aoe farming as fast as possible but for now i don't have a bunch of tutorials about how to exactly do that or the locations or things like this and so feel free to come into my chat we can try to talk about those exact locations but overall i would definitely just recommend looking up a joker's guide because it is probably the best out there currently about the various locations to go to they might be overrun so you might need some backup locations but that'll be a great start for you coming in at number four we have what kind of add-ons should i use so i have a full video on the add-ons that i use and things like that some of the best add-ons but obviously you're adding add-ons over time and so i'm going to touch on a few right here that i highly recommend having the first one is going to be details so details is obviously nice for raiding it shows your damage you're doing it you can show your healing done d spells etc etc etc but one really nice thing that has is frags so frags is actually a kill track of each individual mob type so this is very useful for something like mara where you want to see how many slimes you're getting but what happens is that as soon as you kill a mob it actually will show you you killed x number of mobs in your run the next really useful add-on is this add-on right here which shows our shields this is nan shield and what it does is it shows you any type of shield that you throw on it shows you your various kind of colors of various shields you have so if i throw on a fire shield i have orange and things like that i'll have a link down below where you can download that but the thing is that a lot of people don't know how to get this colored because when you just first download it everything has the same color so it's just one big shield the way to do that is to go into your weak aura so slash wa go to nan shield conditions and then scroll down here and you can see you know the various colors so you see a magic shield is this color physical damage shield is this color arcane is this color fire this color etc and then you just change the color of those icons and that will change the color of that respective damage shield for yourself the number one add-on is going to be nit so nova instant tracker what this does is it shows you trade logs of every kind of you know gold payment that you got from anybody to boost them but it also shows you all the runs that you've been doing this is very useful to keep track of when you're going to get locked from an instance whether that be in an hour or 30 dungeons for the 30 instance lock per day this add-on is huge and i highly highly recommend getting this add-on some other ones you can check out in the video like scrolling loot text there's parrot too which is great to show you you know your blizzard ticks and things like that but those are going to be the key add-ons you're definitely going to want to have coming in at number three we have how do i gear my mage for aoe farming so you can see right here that i am my mage and i have 6048 mana that is actually all with just pure leveling gear i have not really bought anything at 60 i have not done a raid not done a dungeon on this tune or anything like that so i'm going to show you guys exactly how to hit 6 000 mana without a lot of gear now you could go in and you could do dungeons like skalomance scholamance is great to do once you get 60 because you can get necropile gear or devout gear magisters etc it has high intellect and high stamina which is what we're going to be going for or you can go hit up some raids t1 is great for the amount of intellect you can get t2 obviously with a 5-piece t2 would be amazing so you can do dungeons you could do raids but even easier you could just go to the auction house so if you take a look at my gear all of these pieces are actually boe pieces they were all bought off the auction house and they're all just intellect stamina maybe some spirit mp5 things like that and these you know it's even just as simple as sm gear i have two pieces of sm gear including my weapon but just having high intellect and stamina gear is plenty to get enough mana to be able to do these farms and i do zg on this tune one easy way to get all that gear is to search for of the eagle on the auction house of the eagle gear is the affects that has intellect and stamina so if we go to armor we go to cloth and we search here and then we flip the minimum item level to 60. you can see this master's vest with 19 and like 19 stand these legs with 18 intellect 18 stam you know boots of the eagle things like that buy some of the eagle gear and then go ahead and buy some devout or some magisters or maybe buy some dread mist treadmis is great and the nice thing about these pieces is that you have set bonuses so for example the two-piece set bonus is an additional 200 armor 200 armor might not sound like a lot but when your base minimum for armor is 900 or 700 rather because i have the 200 bonus that's actually a massive increase in the amount of armor that you're going to have and it's really going to mitigate the amount of damage that you take when you pair that up with your ice armor you're looking at about 21 damage reduction from a level 60 which means that that 600 armor right there is about a six percent so you're looking at about an additional two to three percent damage reduction from a level 60 mile which could make the difference in your forms and number two we have what level should i boost in each dungeon so this is more of a power leveling question or a question for somebody boosting their alts but it's basically what dungeon should i do at what level so the starting off zones are going to be a little bit different but from there between the horde and the alliance is going to basically be the same so when a horde hits level 8 he can get into rfc and i recommend you do rfc until 16 or 17 and then you do sfk until anywhere between 20 and 22 and that's when you head over to sm and you do sm cath s sm cathedral and or sorry sm cathedral sm armory and sm library with the first few rooms just to maximize the 30 per day lockout for the horde or for the alliance though obviously it's gonna be a little bit difficult to get to rfc at level eight so i recommend at level 10 that they head over to deadmines or whaling caverns so whaling caverns while it might be a little bit of a trip honestly is a great place to go because of the amount of experience that they can get and whaling caverns is a fantastic instance to run through whether it's a little bit slower or if you're doing a very quick pull through railing caverns i can give you some really good xp once you hit level 15 if you're not worried about hitting the 30 lockouts you can swap over to stockades and that'll get you the highest xp per hour rate but unfortunately with the lockouts you will get locked out very quick in stockades so you just got to keep that in mind but that is a good option for you and then once you hit level 20 i recommend going straight into sm then once you level 20 recommend you go straight in to sm from there we do sm until 38 to 40. now the reason why there's a range is because the experience that you get is variable it's not always the same it's not that you just do the run and it gives you xp it's based on your level and the group's level so if a mob is read to you xp is pretty much capped but if a mob is orange to you or green towards you it's completely based off of the average group oval that you have in the dungeon so for example if you have the perfect average group level you're looking at with the mobs being three levels above your level or four levels above your level average group level that is the perfect level to be in that dungeon so you could stay in sm until 42 because if you're bringing in a bunch of level 20s or something like that you're bringing down the average group level to the point where you're going to get more experience you can stay in assembly it's going to be amazing experience but typically i'd recommend between 38 and 40 you swap over to mara and then you do mara until anywhere between 50 and 52. now again this is average group level but with mara it's also interesting because you have multiple different pools so in mara you have two kind of sections that you're pulling you have you know your waterfall side with all of the earth elementals and the ventrions and things like that and then you have the rest of the purple side which has the seders and things like that the seders are going to range from 43 to 44 some go a little bit higher but mainly 43 and 44 while the demetrions the hydras and things like that can range up to 48 and so the mobs are level 48 are gonna give you a lot more experience if you're reaching the higher levels so if you're doing those large pools if you're doing the 220 the 300 the 290 something like that if you're doing those kind of pools definitely it's perfectly fine to stay in amara until 50 to 52. alternatively i would recommend swapping over to zg at that point and getting boosted in zg a lot of people are confused about the way that zg experience works but zg experience will for the most part scale the exact same percentage of your level as you level up until you hit about 55 to 59 you'll get a little bit more experience percentage-wise but it's pretty much the percentage of your level that you're getting also unlike the party if you're at a party you want to have four people in the party including yourself that's gonna be the top experience in a raid like zg you want the minimum number of people so one booster plus one boosty will be the most experienced you can get and with the 20 pools you can actually get up to around 150 000 experience per hour potentially if you have all the mobs that you're pulling and you just have one person with one booster so that is probably the level range that i would recommend get up to level 20 with your individual sides go from 20 to 40 in mara go from 40 to 50 or sorry 20 to 40 in sm 40 to 50 in mara 50 to 60 in zg coming in at number one the most popular question that i get is what dungeon should i be doing for the maximum gold and ultimately this comes down to whether or not you want to do just you know boosting or whether you want to do just solo farming on your own that is what's going to dictate it and also it's going to come down to your individual professions so for example as we talked about professions before if you have herbalism you know that's going to open up a lot of avenues for you because you can get a lot of money just solo farming and zg and dm and things like that but the best boost and just raw farming potential if you don't have any professions is going to be mara now the reason it's going to be mara is that edge masters drops here as long as as well as other epics and if you're doing the large pool you can get elemental earths and things like that and ultimately you're just killing the most mobs for you know your time with the 300 mara pool you're potentially killing a thousand mobs an hour which is giving you a very high chance to get some good gear to make some really good money and things like that for boosting it is also going to come in the number one reason being you can do four runs per hour with perfect efficiency you know that's the exact amount that you could do per hour continuously selling runs for anywhere between 12 and 15 gold consistently so you're making a ton of money and that's with reserving epics i also have a friend who's doing the 300 plus pools and he is actually not taking any of the loot and selling each run for 23 gold per run which means that each run that he does he makes 100 gold and he can do about three runs per hour he's making about 300 raw gold per hour it's absolutely incredible kind of rates you're getting just in raw gold if you were to reserve the loot you wouldn't be able to sell it for as much because people want their chance of edge masters but you could still sell it very well and if you get lucky with the edge masters drop that could be anywhere from a 2k gold bonus to a 7k gold bonus or more depending on your server if you're talking no boosting though you just want to make money by yourself if you have a herbalism which i highly highly recommend if you're going to try to just do it by yourself it is going to be dammies dm east right now with all the herbs herbs are always needed and they're amazing there's also some decent drops out of here but the amount of herbs that you're going to be getting especially if you can do the runs at the end and you have urban and mining you're going to make some serious serious gold about 150 gold per hour to 200 gold per hour completely solo and it's an easy farm at the end of the day you don't need a ton of gear to be able to do this farm as long as you're level 60 you can sneak through kind of like we're doing here and it can net you some serious gold but if you want to you know up the game a little bit and challenge yourself especially since we have the 30 lockouts per day i'd recommend picking up mining and liberalism doing not only the regular runs but also the jump runs as well and then with the jump runs you can get potentially arcane crystals as well which add an additional good amount of gold per hour so this is going to come in as the best farm to do mara however is a great farm as well and zg depending on your server could be the best farm but most often than not bg prices have really decreased a good bit and so you're probably not making as much in zg as you used to make all right everyone that wraps up today's video i hope you all enjoyed it and if you did please subscribe and leave a like and a comment below to let me know so if you guys have any other ideas for any other videos please let me know in the comments below also
