witch hat in october apparently and plays the game the new rule and plays the game but that means that i must be the game's master meaning box facts all about vampire knight oh oh that's night with an end not a k it's something vampire day not about uh kit or mitchell no uh it's not about batman camelot or batman no it's about a night of vamps a knight of vamps yeah am i gonna learn all about it cut scene i think okay i will tell you the vampire knight aka van paya naito is a light gun game oh good developed by wow entertainment and published by namco in 2001 for the ps2 who shall live who shall die whoa so it's a light gun game that i get to play on a controller yeah ready for this oh no what are those those heads no that's the vampire knight he's gonna get here that's him there he is of course there's a little girl this is all very normal and fine the vampire big sword the knight now there is a knight you're a genius there is a knight dark mind queen of ours he's just so stupid the vampire he's just the vampire there's only one seemingly yeah this looks like something i'd play in an arcade for a quid it is a port of a game originally released for arcade a year before in 2000 so oh god i've got bloody curse yeah um if we if we emulated the flipping pc version i could use a mouse there's a mouse right here that would be way easier than having to use the bloody left stick can you see there isn't a pc version is it not no it's just ps2 well maybe we could emulate on some sort of arcade i don't know there's probably there is a second cursor there you see the blue one yeah there's um it's a two-player game why is it just there though do you think there's another controller yeah well i don't i think it might always be there unless like i think it's just always there and then you can like move out the way if you've got a second thing but um there's probably stuff you can get that will help you like emulate light guns and stuff but we're not doing that we'd never waited for this moment where do they find these people whoa i've waited long for this moment they're coming it's going to take me six years to move the cursor over to him oh this is going to be it doesn't help with it didn't tell me i'm sure it's supposed to well maybe it's coming up later there's a mechanic in this game that allows you to potentially save innocence but um and then it tells you about it but maybe not right i know it's like aware thing um a struggle between light and dark from three centuries back is about to ensue the parties involved this is all from uh wikipedia is that him shouting really loud the parties involved are michelle and albert the two vampire hunters representing light and the vampires representing dark no the story takes place in the year 2006 that was in the future so far away when this game was released and uh uh in an unnamed village in france oh what are they digging through snow on ice i don't really know what we're stood on i'm assuming it's ice it's like a frozen oh here you go so these guys yeah who are these guys michelle and i'll bear rescue a 12 year old girl named caroline caroline oh her hair went a bit funny there what's this weak point okay i can't flip and see it really oh no they've gone all tentacles oh no you didn't oh flip it out look at me here oh wow okay he turned that's is that a vampire start i guess oh weak point is his face now oh reload so caroline witnessed a couple of villagers held hostage by the vampire sarcoma oh omar of course being a at the end of a word means a kind of tumor oh does it right yeah so after rescuing the villagers caroline villagers and caroline the vampire hunters proceed into the castle to destroy the remaining forces of dark it says i rescued one man okay if you shoot the little thing yeah you go oh yes right and that's what you need to do i wasn't very accurate you need to shoot the sarcoma they have an external tumor that you can just shoot off you know that's what happens in um a lot of hospitals nowadays you go in really and they say bang sorted got you that'll be 12 million 12 million please um and you you pay up so it works [Music] as might have been expected of a vampire hunter oh the genius they are they are as expected not bad oh this is like the league of evil they're all just here's the night let's see them do better what they're better than what are you talking about the emphasis on them there he meant let's see them do better everybody said let's see them do better it's really like what is happening i know these games for their story but this is especially mm-hmm you we need a reason why are they coming vampires so quick he's picking up so much meat reload i can't aim fast enough oh crap oh christ what's that is the vampire back the camera's moving too quick i can't keep up oh my goodness so as you can see this you know technically speaking not a oh right is that game over was that michelle yeah not michelle caroline she's a caroline yeah she's horrible now okay uh technically speaking not a not a terrible game it's just another light gun game uh but and it's spooky and it's spooky but it's it's it's one comes and fun i can't i genuinely can't move the look how slow it moves can you change the sensitivity do you think in the option right question no but this was submitted to us as the worst games ever and having looked today and it being halloween i thought let's play this we'll make it are you a baddie oh god you've got to shoot those those there did i get hit no i don't know if i did would you like a spoiler for what happens at the end of the game no yes it would although the forces of evil reveal that they there's a couple of tiny peters running around oh no get him well don't actually i feel for them that was you that escaped gee i was scared please get them oh god do i have to oh flip that oh look at them what what what is that what was that a magic stop it oh you're gonna shoot the projectile stop firing the jam at me [Music] although the forces of evil reveal that they created michelle and albert to kill themselves what they became afraid of death and tried to stop them that's crazy so they created their own their own death machine but then regretted it and then tried to stop them from doing it it's a bit late for that isn't it it is what's that thing what's that thing i'm gonna shoot it reload i gotta get that that's really hard to like get the timing down it's really tough it is important to note that the hunters are in fact vampires vampires d-h-a-m-p-y-r-s vampires empires in brackets parentheses half vampires now that was actually hyperlinked to a just another wikipedia page about vampires about damp so they are actually a folkloric being in somewhere in europe i think it was which is a totally real and normal thing yeah hello uh this is foreshadowed by their glowing eyes oh it's a side scroller now um yeah for a second look at the clouds oh my goodness the outcome is a pyrrhic victory for the forces of goods that's a quite an academic term meaning they win but at such a such a cost that like it's kind of oh my god they're so fast not worth the victory so the right you know it's almost a tragic victory um it's a victory for the forces of good as the forces of evil are stopped the vampire hunters decide to let the rising sun end their own lives as well oh so they can be affected by sunlight they can in this game they couldn't in the last one that we played the worst games ever do not fear me i am like you a natural vampire right um six months later caroline pays her respects to the vampire hunters at their graves glad that she is alive by putting one of their guns in front of one of their graves stating that her heart shall remember all that day that moment and what happened what comma before her summer hat flies away too her summer hat flies away to the camera to end the game no oh man that doesn't sound like a beautiful ending here's the vampire oh you're going to get him no because it's he's got a boss bar because it's an arcade it's a flipping arcade shooter so he has to like legally he he will hit you three times during this fight no matter what you do yeah see there you go how am i okay so he does have a blue bar oh oh oh oh oh god that blue bar's taking a while isn't it it really is oh here you go moving on the tower lady d a little bit a little bit re-re re-re-reload according to the ricky of the dead which i believe is a house of the dead wiki and sort of you know spin-offs or related material this isn't a spin off as such but it's just somewhat related so there's an article about it on wiki of the dead yeah um wow entertainment collaborated with sega on vampire night wanting to wanting to distinguish the game from house of the dead with a cool aesthetic it's pretty cool it's pretty cool i mean you know how's the dead boring this cool we re i hate it running through the woods in the forest stop it stop he's firing two now oh he's got double swords i'm doing such little damage to this guy it's taking forever this morning it's going to take you so long you've got one health left now what oh i don't know flawless thing now don't you he's nearly dead i have one more continue after this okay and then hopefully it might be level by level yeah not boss well it won't be no it won't but boss fights will hoping there's a just an insert coin mechanic some of these games did they some of these games don't know no i know and i've not played enough i've only ever played house to dead and stuff like that on in in arcades so i don't know if they included it in um the console port that you can just like put a coin in uh-huh you thought it'd be a cheat code you could enter for that you would have thought if you shelled out to buy the full version for pick what are these well that's what i mean for ps2 yeah you should just be able to play until you get to the end you shouldn't have to put up with these stupid mechanics what they got what is that oh what is that game over gummy over that's it okay uh did we go for long enough it's going to show us how far we got i mean we didn't oh look at that it actually shows your physical route what were the other right alone sure yes say yes just in case it helps it might just be what a boring dialogue box just blew up oh wow this is crap well have a look at the other oh there's training special special special mode what is special if we're lucky it might just be a different level and then we can at least oh it is a different level yeah excuse me the game buy things for me welcome i've got no i want nothing strange melt melt exit by your mouth what would you like to do what are you melting i'll just start i haven't got anything have i you've still got credits though so got credits we can run out starlet snow oh no is this the same scarlet's no uh be gone now for your time has long since passed yeah this is the first level again it's just you know i was just giving you a bonus objective so you have to also find the doll maybe well you're rubbish okay well i'll just play well okay i'll route through the facts i guess um due to the team's unfamiliarity with uh namco's system 246 arcade hardware the port required lots of trial and error according to the developers um there were ideas to add more enemies levels and branching paths in the ports special mode but they could not be realized within the timeline they just released it again yeah as is is that the doll i don't know what to do just keep shooting it i just shot it load oh okay here's an oh mission complete you did it i'm so happy thank you very much mister maybe i'll let you go through all the other missions in the game and no we're going to keep playing oh no it's just are we just going until we die how do i get silver is that just by completing missions i guess so um however another version of the game was released five years later in japan with additional game modes so in 2006 when this game is set they eventually released another version in japan um with the stuff they wanted to add in the first place how much do you think a brand new copy of this game goes for on ebay according to rarity.club website rarity.club uh let's say 150 pounds 199. oh okay so it's about 150 000. yeah kind though yeah that was only one listing i think it was a brand new wrapped coffee you genuinely can't see where these guys weak points are actually yeah uh where is it so i'll read the reception section from the wikipedia article but yeah it's not necessarily indicative of the rest of it okay in japan game machine listed vampire night on their may 15 2001 issue as being the fourth most successful dedicated arcade game of the year wow that's a weird that's a weird thing the fourth uh on release famitsu magazines called the playstation 2 version of the game a 32 out of 40 and ign gave vampire knight a 7.3 stating that the game was good good good it's good it's good but those aren't our metacritic scores those are just little bits and bobs on wikipedia what do you think this game got on ps2 uh based on 18 metacritic review scores 18 metacritic review scores there's quite a lot of messages it is yeah for this game uh well the average average 61. 65 percent the highest score came from two different sources both gave it the same score right uh game zone said if you really like light shooters and are looking for something different than a modern setting you will probably find the game a breath of fresh air re-re-reload uh and gain sports silver found it nice yeah said unquestionably the best-looking light gun uh light gun game ever released this is in 2000 yeah as well as a game that will seem instantly familiar to house of the dead fans while still pushing their skills oh pushing their skills huh yeah i don't know can you just shoot what's her name to death uh she's there so no so what do you think those two both gave it as the highest score they gave it 70 no it must be higher than that they gave it 85 81 oh okay and the lowest score came from play magazine who said the graphics those slick lack the sort of interest i expected and they're actually quite bland so they're slick but they're bland and don't look have the interest that the reviewer expects not a bad looking game just looks bad it's got it's got a pretty good visual style so that's the lowest review score yep going to play magazine uh let's go for a healthy [Music] forty percent exactly forty percent yeah uh and i also just to prove that this game did sometimes review badly because some people will be thinking well have you brought this to worst games ever i don't know i brought the second lowest which was very close to that it was 42 percent from gaming who said as bland as they come the cheesy plot and acting come with gun game territory but the horrendous gameplay doesn't do much to make this game a keeper oh dear in some ways i'd say that's harsh i don't think it's terrible gameplay it's just standard light gun for it gameplay definitely the hammy dialogue and stuff is the one the lowest point it's big it's big it's got a big light gun energy or in some ways the highest point i mean that's it's why it qualified for worst games ever in the first place i think very true so there you go fantastic uh thank you everyone for watching this
