good morning another beautiful friday morning let's rejoice and be glad in his new mercies this morning [Music] this morning i just want to briefly share a word of of putting jesus at the center of your life how it changes everything my dear mum shared this word with me many years ago and she was actually making a star patchwork cushion at the time and as she looked at the cushion that she was preparing to make she saw that life is like a patchwork a star patchwork it starts from the very center and it starts out with patches and she had these patches and on their own these patches they could look insignificant patches may be bright they may be dull they may be busy they may be dark and even black patches are used and as the maker brings the patches together not only something beautiful but something useful is being created and even the black patches will be added in the patchwork to add a richness a beauty that otherwise would not have existed life is like a patchwork there are days there may be seasons that are so bright and so light might be the excitement at the birth of a child it might be a new job a holiday a promotion but then there there are days or there may be seasons that feel dull or dark it may be the loss of a loved one might be financial difficulties sickness it could be a family breakup and christians go through all kinds of patches in life just as a non-christian does the difference being though that when christ is the center of our life no patch is ever ever wasted romans 8 28 says all things work together for good for those who love the lord and are called according to his purpose and when we take this verse for ourselves we can we can face the worst patches with confidence and we can experience god's peace and his power in our lives and god also offers us his protection often when we look back at those dark times then we see how god used that situation maybe to mold us to change us to help us increase our faith our trust in him it strengthens us maybe it gives us a new vision and when we live life in the power of god's holy spirit we begin to understand the meaning of paul's words in two corinthians four eight to nine we are hard pressed on every side but not crushed perplexed but not in despair persecuted but not abandoned struck down but not destroyed the lord god works every patch in our lives beautifully perfectly together to make a beautiful precious peace a work of art no patching life is ever ever wasted and in jeremiah 29 11-13 for i know the plans i have for you declares the lord plans to give you hope and a future you will seek me and find when you seek me with all your heart jesus be the center of it all is our prayer today putting jesus at the center of your life it changes everything [Music] amen weapon is a melody [Music] heaven comes to fight for me and i'm gonna sing in the middle of the storm louder and louder you're gonna hear my praises roar up from the ashes hope will arise death is defeated jesus is alive [Music] i raise a hallelujah with everything inside of me [Music] i will watch the darkness [Music] in the middle of the mystery i raise it hallelujah [Music] louder in the presence of my enemies i see the little louder louder than the unbelief singing louder [Music] i'll [Music] hallelujah [Music] and i'm gonna sing in the middle of the storm louder and louder you'll hear my praises roar up from the ashes hope will arise death is defeated jesus hallelujah hallelujah just want to give an invitation just now that if jesus isn't the center of your life and you want to ask him into your heart right now just cry out jesus be the center be the center of my life lord lord i want you to take every patch in my life lord lord and just work it into your perfect plan jesus be the center [Music] are you hurting and broken within are you overwhelmed by the weight of your sin jesus is calling have you come to the end of yourself do you thirst for a drink from the whale jesus is calling [Music] oh come to the [Music] forgiveness was broke with the precious blood of jesus christ leave behind your regrets and mistakes come today there's no reason to wait jesus is calling bring your sorrows and trade them for joy from the ashes a new life is born jesus is [Music] arms are open white forgiveness was bored with the precious blood of jesus christ just come to the
