World War II Veteran delivers a promise after 73 years...

[Music] [Music] so I just began now yeah I was born in plenty with Montana 1923 and both the farmers we had a farm out there about 1927-28 I had a drought and so my dad wanted to go someplace where there's a lot of water so that's when we come there to watch their Montana horse after school in World War two come along and I wonder marine corps and that's where this all started and so when you join how old were you thank you but but my mother had to sign the release because my age and she started crying because you know she already had three starts in the war we've been fighting in the mountains and the hills and so then we got the cue okay to go there so we went down the next morning and they tried to talk us out of it and lieutenant did he said like he said he said tomorrow about lions did the Japanese fertilize this that's no man's land we didn't get very far I gotta remember but Oh hiya nice tired to walk after him and I noticed this soldier Japanese shoulder laid on the ground and I walked over to him and he had a saber on so I knew he was an officer he had this flank right next year's oh goodness underneath his coat first semester whatever door sources a Chinook to omars I didn't really want to take it because it's kind of sacred to me no that doesn't mean so much to him figure but I knew I didn't take it somebody else would and maybe never hear of it again so I reached over and he puts on his laying down on his back but he's kinda honest left short side it almost like a visa sleek there was no bullet bones or shrapnel wounds so I knew right away he was killed by a mortar blast you fold a flag out and I kind of made a promise that some way or another [Music] [Music] [Music] baby figure all right [Music] please gonna take care of you okay [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] for your feet so you can get into that when you want to okay [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] whoa essential Moo's - Cara Jared essayist and accurately create a moment [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] my name is Rex Zeke co-founder of evil on society on behalf of the staff of open society we would like to sincerely thank that yesterday Bentley and all the citizens because she she Arakawa for the invitation to visit them today for the past eight years the Oval Society has helped connect families to provide healing and closure over the loss of their life of the warm Martin strombel has made this long long journey from his home in Montana to personally return the spirit of their missing brother this generous act represents the true spirit of a United States Marine we want this historic meeting of families to be known as the final chapter of the war and the first chapter of a new era that makes and marks true peace and lasting friendship between the people of the United States and the people of Japan [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh [Music] you can say yes a vertical thank you all so glad to meet you family but after 72 years and the problems about next time I would return to the black I'm 32 to family it took a long time but your hope on society view and take : Braxton other people and I thank you [Music] you [Music]
