okay we are pressing the cam gear off [Music] okay I'm sure they probably didn't the key there's a new camp oh gosh do them phone in it hey guys they're on this bull Val told me to buy these Hamilton gams and I got to look it out of him $1,500 for a cam for a little five nine i put a crankshaft in a six seven Cummins a couple years ago when i fatal 1,100 bucks for the crankshaft yeah I'm not spending $1,500 on the camshaft that ain't gonna happen or some people must just have a lot of money maybe I'm not galilean people were enough I don't know I don't know how people can do [ __ ] like that I just mean that Derek from Monterey we're talking about go buy a brand-new pickup first you know if you buy a new Super Duty you're gonna pay sixty seventy thousand dollars for it and then I see these people do this and then it's still under warranty and as soon as they get it off the lot they take it down they go put lift kits and tires and power programmers and and you're taking shipping just have another ten thousand into it at least and I just wonder where do people get all their money at it just blows my mind I'd get along like that's what he did because he sounds like he's the same wage like how the hell do people do that there's no key in it I think I could have figured that much so then doing a little bit here learning a little bit up and down underneath this thing I've had some Lucas assembly live here and it's pretty thick tacky stuff but not tacky and not because I was trying to I tried it first lifter right it's easy with the first hooker you can hold it in with your finger right through the cam hole but the second one back no way my fingers ain't that long and I'm by myself as usual my kids I'm here at home by myself anyway I'm not gonna cry a river the assembly move wasn't thick enough I thought it was gonna be tacky enough where it would just stay up in there and I could get a zip tie on it out here if it wasn't so number 2 grease works pretty damn good so we've got some number 2 degrees here just get it all slimed up here and then what I did I got this magnet telescoping magnet no like that and I grabbed a screwdriver oh no but all my lights are down the main shop so I can't see [ __ ] I mean here what I do is I get it started with that magnet and then I push it up with a screwdriver and pull the magnet off hold it with the screwdriver and the grease it's tacky enough to hold the damn thing look at that just stand right we're supposed to man I going here and I grab me a zip tie I've already got a loop in it yeah works out pretty damn good you know somebody get me another zip tie and I get it ready to go give me a loop in it and we're not [ __ ] around here with that and that person repeat the process all over again Betty this money lifters oh they're right here finger full of little red number two grease okay till the other day you don't want that number to grease and your motors and I said if that diesel engine can't take a little bit of number-two grease and that thing's a pile of [ __ ] anyway oh I got a creeper there but I hate getting under there trying to hold still and do something like this with Dam creeper underneath you well I gotta turn the engine I gotta turn the engine over cuz I can't get to them two holes the connecting rod during the way well should we shimmy shimmy back here and do let's check it back in a new one these holes in ones we can actually get to but my mind it's telescoped out too damn long I'm backing out of here get a zip ties I'll be kind of glad when I get this part done you get the cam in it and buzz off I got connecting rod bearings and meinen Ross main bearings for it too so didn't I already have one with the loop in it being gone you know sometimes get ahead of myself there [Music] so well you guys get the gist of it all uh go ahead and rotate this thing around and run get to the other ones and all that good stuff and then we'll have to read time it but that's no big deal at all all right okay so we're putting in a new campaign and we did not put Ken Burns in it I really looked at him hard the one I could see here in the front yeah it looked a little bit where somebody kind of scratched it there with something like a pic or something but other than that another than all that can bury it this whole lining up your timing marks before you pull the cam out you don't have to do that just pull the cam out of the son of a [ __ ] you know and then turn your crank to where the zero is right there and when you're putting the cam in line the mark-up with it and the injection pump gear you can pull it out you don't even have to time it either and then just I'll show you that in a minute I mean all that stuff you can do I just saw that and I was like oh my god really wasting a lot of time there the Raiders force hitting you right now right in the tit I might have to climb up in there I'm having a hard time here getting to where I wanna be where's your happy spot at little time here ah ah do I need to climb up in there it's kind of a pyramid I'm gonna have to something I'd want to lift her that's not up as far as it should be this one look like it might be but which genders were she to just unbolt the little guest to get out of my way okay I'm gonna climb up in there she [ __ ] stand-in here somewhere I'm having a hell of a time here look at that once you can get in there kind of eyeball it and see where your straighten where you're not squirted up you can get right in there and do it cam this plate here there's a lifetime and mark at right there's my zero and you get over here right in there somewhere having trouble getting in that back back ambushing he's definitely fighting me every step of the way Oh even I should have my fair share of troubles myself not twenty years ago I was a young guy doing this I'd have been about three-quarters pissed off by now and throwing [ __ ] cussing and screaming horn being a fool but I'm a little better about that now I sure we get this on there and that'll be going I'll just stick it right there keep it from falling a little pin I climb back up in there and more wrestler some more it's got to be sagging on that end a little bit or shot down there she goes okay finally found the sweet spot now time and Mars which is really tough to see now there's a zero there there's two zeros there which is where we want that zero in between those two zeros one tooth loss really all right so should be I can't really tell us what's hard to see and I think I was right the first time come off the tooth let me go back Hugo beers it's got her to see now I'm gonna tell him okay we're there to zeros 1 0 & 1 0 up here we got er all right all right I gotta get to find the bolts for this and since the thrust plate back down I kind of had to force myself at Sunday come on I need to get this done really bad I need to get to using it quit messing around get it done but you really forced myself to come out here today I wanted to just sit in the house and relax and drink beers but I really wanted to do today but okay I'll be back or zip ties off now me and Ron are pretty tight alright I think what I'm gonna do though so I can just see him better I'm gonna go ahead and shove those push rods back in there I can see that holds real nice and clean right now so it's easy to do well I guess I better wash these up in the porch washer first okay yeah it's a lot easier to do it right there when you can see those boards and lifters three more all right Oh that's screwed up there new gasket for this put it on there should be it was just front font right there okay and the bull by two fitting it at the back so this would be the front [Music] you know what the deal is there you painted this thing or something at one time it just all right that's a lot there that gasket is on her it was all split and cracked and just knew that that was gonna create some kind of problem for me somewhere along the line I hate leaking [ __ ] I just can't stand it okay two of those little fiber washer stayed on there coppers and the rest of them are on these bowls so that ones there okay so I'm steeper going up there I'm havin problems Oh nibbler something on that deal there hold me up no the intake manifold there nothing integrity my gaskets stayed on there time to wrestle it in there everyday they're wrestling match around that stud now on your compressor mound this gasket here is the one that really sucks if it leaks is you got a full bunch of [ __ ] off to get to it and I'd better make damn sure that's right let's see what the torque supposed to be on ease there's a common service manual right here and see if we could find it he gets back here I said you gotta go so gonna pop some rod caps off in the main caps off and roll bearings in it engine assembly so we're gonna cover that there's our front cover your housing rear cam shaft there's the tappet do not force camshaft in the camshaft for ya you think that they would put that right there somewhere but they did not do that every week you can remit there's someone putting the injection pump on why wouldn't they show the lifter cover oh there it is right there so attempt ever seen washers yeah we did that some of the type of cover mounting screws also secure that he'll drain 18 foot pounds the same as everything else on it that's the same torque the front cover was torque to and the what the hell else was torque to 18 foot pounds on this thing I'm gonna have to get an extension get out there a little further I don't know how much further I'm gonna go to dam just just tired I'm just starting the middle and working away outlook or everything else you ever do all right let's get this one here next these over there in a chair snoring all right okay it's all on there let's get the flashlights on home make sure everything looks kosher there all right well now I'll put lift pump on blow bye to all that apparatus all that crap on there and then we'll start stacking her back up on this side get the injection pump on there I might go ahead and do that next I could probably put that on yeah anything no I don't know if I'd be in the way huh I might be able to put the lip pump and step back on there first would be better yeah let's do that we'll put the lift pump on there first okay so this little deal here turn your you can this actually goes in like this usually and the plug goes in over the top of it but turn around and then turn this toward you'll see the slot stick up in there and although we can't probably see if here of it the little slot will pop up and then you'll stick this on there and it's in time I got a new o-ring on here oh you big ol boat anchor they're tightly knit there it goes then bolt that motor melon again jack that inch if want to do that forget the mains and everything in it you get to your compressor and so that's fully why we do the rods and means before we put the air compressor in what does 5/16 or 15 million or something yeah I just I'm really looking for reliability I want to start every day and run lots of miles without the least amount of problems as possible and the less downtime I have with us the more money I make and I know guys I used to do I used to have six litre Fords and I used to hop them up and I was constantly putting injectors in them you know and I just finally enough of this [ __ ] I mean this is ridiculous and then I left them alone like that oh six out there service truck and I just drive it I don't ever have any problems with it hardly I mean I lost an injector the other day but it's got three hundred sixty-five thousand miles on it I'm still a little different situation there okay I was a kid one time - you look like 9/16 see what they are there's a 14 I actually had an O 3 6 liter which is a piece of [ __ ] the O threes were terrible but anyway I I had put all kinds of bullied all different Entei all that stuff on there and reigneth around on a performance or extreme setting all the time and just [ __ ] eight injectors I mean I was putting injectors in it about every year is terrible and I finally stick it out and then after that it was just fine I really didn't have very many problems after that it's like well why didn't you do that a long time ago there genius that's definitely a money-making deal these diesel shops these diesel pickup shops were these kids come in there and he just got to have the latest and greatest on everything and you had to have this hot rod [ __ ] boy they sure see him coming them all away don't they they start licking their lips when they show up let's put that Mingo that back in there take that loose I know it's fun I used to have fun on it too but I just finally grew up and I figured why am i spending all my money and looking in the mirror and it's going on out the tailpipe you know there's way better things I could be doing with my money and my time and then doing that [ __ ] a really good really good friend of mine that used to work with Kyle got it ready it all happens to all of us he he was big-time he had a Dodge pickup that was a running the son of a [ __ ] five nine it's an old five I mean he spent eight grand on that transmission having it hopped up he even blew it up you know launching and for high off the line racing people I'm I'm finally glad to see he got a woman got married he's got a kid on the way and he sold that piece of [ __ ] and and and got a went and bought a new pickup but [Music] he said he said I'm just gonna leave it alone he says I don't want to work on it all the time I said there you go just leave the sumbitch long remember this one here don't have it see there's no key way in the gear then really matter we put the damn thing I scratched a little time and mark on it right there and I got a look at the torque spec in the book there I think it's like a hundred and forty seven foot pounds or something like that Oh pull that back I don't think a guy needs to be torquing that gear and have something turn on him with that plastic you know the little of time and lock in their place break that off in there maybe the next thing that happens okay yeah I gotta see what the torque is on that let's see here if we can find that little quick in here pump in line okay yeah there's our little tool I told you to move the excess plug over the timing and timing tooth is not aligned with time in pinhole rotates gonna be stuff that's all the time into the lines that's it uh push the pump forward until the mounting plans and oring are properly fitted into the gear housing do not attempt to pull the pump flange into the gear housing with the mounting nuts as damage to the housing can occur yeah that's why you see me we're going to shake that and get it to work popped in and solve the mounting up those are 32 sort port bracket I get to put that on but we're gonna looking torque these down and sold 200 gear pump shaft so the retaining nut and washer torque value 133 inch pounds prevent damage to the timing pins do not exceed the torque value given this is not the final torque value for their retaining nut so let's go will do exactly like they say well we probably won't do it exactly like these I will give a crescent wrench you just kind of snug it up release the timing pins you get the walnut okay just tight enough let's pull this time in pan out and we got the one on the timing cover backed off you see here that little nose pliers right here then we got that much attention of it already yes Oh where's the plug that let's put this back on there right okay - unlike copper washer or something goes over that I would think there would be some kind of seal on that um think on that nut just pull that stuff off right here yes look at the book it should be some kind of seal on that nut I would think all right timing pin were stealing okay Ruth the timing you yeah there see there's a copper washer I'm missing there yeah I gotta find that that's why I'm having a little gap there and it's not found it should squeeze our gas now there we go you go smoke that's 20 foot pound this is my truck ain't doing I'm just gonna snug it up Paul good enough all right some extensions and stuff and get back in there and tighten them up but let's work this okay so talk that and that I just told you 20 foot pounds which we didn't even technical injection pump drive not torque value a pump p3000 P 70 so the P pops both of 3070 100 says here 144 foot dollars what size does that look like you guys I don't remember it looks like an inch and an eighth so let me go get a half inch drive for cranks out of the service truck outside I think it's in chandni that's why I would do for the day my buddies 2011 the reductant heater went bad in it and do some cardboard on the ground pulled it out then I called and said I would get a pump [ __ ] nipple on that the nipple on the hold a little quick connect I had a hell of a time was wiggling it and pulling on it and that where's it at the nipple right here broke off on the pump now I gotta buy the new pump what do you do sometimes so it's obviously inch-and-a-quarter so now I get to make another trip back out to the service truck it's too small okay [Music] I've done the 14 did try to turn it wasn't gonna turn that didn't work for a [ __ ] did it cuz I put it on the wrong side of that [ __ ] gear there we go [Music] we're there we're under there just get it back around I'll get center if you can put this nut Rick and stand around here that's not what she's got pretty good compression just gonna back off see all right let's put the timing pin back in and just get it where we know they're just right there we are in time yes sir okay all right we can run the bells on it and all that stuff meet the doll come back on here this will grow ready for action but you know what guys it's Sunday I'll probably make a short video about what I've done here that's far I'm just kinda burnt out I'm tired it's about time is it that's about five o'clock and Sunday evening I think I'm gonna go grab me a Colorado kool-aid and kick back in the old chair there and maybe I'll start making this video and get it going and edit it and all that happy horseshit and we've got the hard part down this I got some Lawton main bearings over here go ahead put bearings in it I looked up in a cylinder bores in this thing and that's another thing I wanted to know along here here's the main bearings interstate McBee I got some of the stuff coming through some stuff from interstate McBee Eva there's our main bearings you're our nicking log bearings anyways I looked up inside the cylinder bores and rolled the engine around she looked wonderful up in there and it's got good compression you can hear it so when I rode it up here at Hadlock yes well it didn't didn't lock on power really I thought it was great for what it is just a little five nine at this big of a truck I thought it actually had excellent power so anyway I'm gonna come in here every night now when I get home and just do a little bit at a time till I get it back together I mean it really in comparison of that is X down there this is easy money I mean I can have the same together if I wanted to keep going tonight I'd probably have I could probably have it back and run denied Dino thought it's Sunday night and I'm gonna go relax so for the rest of the evening and get a good night's sleep and then tomorrow I'll be starting that is X I'm to the point where I can start it now so anyways give me a thumbs up and we'll show those naysayers so alright guys thanks
