Working in Rivian's Electric Delivery Van During A Snowstorm

hey guys Chris here and welcome back to the Amazon Vlogs it's already 10:00 and New Jersey has declared a state of emergency for 1 to 3 in of snow and as you can see it has already started but we're still delivering anyways I have my lunch right here Bagel apple turnover and banana as well as the body armor we'll see how today turns out it should be an interesting day [Music] today even with the weather I know we want to get done as soon as possible but remember it's better than do it the right way then just do it fast so dve extra careful spots that make look wet could possibly be eyes some of these neighborhoods they don't use their front door so they don't shovel it they just open a garage in though so be [Music] careful con you want me in the blog yes sir oh you're famous bro you're famous dude you got the um snow cleaner thing whatever I'm taking this home he's ready I I need one of these bro I don't have [Music] one ss pretty good all right [Music] visibility zero it's like I'm driving into an abyss take it in guys it's like I'm in a Skyrim feel like I'm in Game of Thrones right now winter fell of course our first stops our Apartments we'll just double park I think our apartment right thereo all right all right let me show you what you need for a day like this always come prepared cuz I do first up we got our boots you know keep our socks dry cuz having wet socks during the whole day sucks of course I have my signature short always you guys like that if it's not too windy I recommend ear muffs go around your ear keep your ears cold or keep your ears warm I should say or you could use the I forgot What's this called baklava bakal laava one's a dessert and ones put over your face it's a face mask I usually wear this when it's so like windy and cold and of course our Amazon fat fleece jacket don't know what to call it I love this you see reflective all the way around and it keeps you warm keeps you really warm I really like this jacket I don't know why love the color love everything about it oh and I also have my thermals on to keep me warm so I got like three layers on try to stay dry we'll see if the snow starts to stick and deliver nine times out of 10 you rather be at home chilling in your warm room have the fireplace on on your computer watching Netflix whatever but we got to get to work so let's [Applause] go yeah it's been a while since Jersey got snow maybe like a year a year and a half where it actually stuck to the floor and stayed for a couple days cuz what usually happens here that it snows and next day it rains and the day after that everything's back to normal but this here might be a little different in the best case scenario today it gets really bad and my dispatcher tells everyone to come back to the station ah yes the UPS Store the enemy I always feel like I'm at The UPS Store [Applause] what's up guys Amazon have a good one oh thanks [Applause] yep yeah always be careful with your steps don't want to fall the last few days I think I almost fell like 10 times looks like we have our first driveway delivery uh it's a dangerous game going down these driveways but you know what we're going to test the limits of the eeve see how hopefully this isn't a death sentence I'm hoping not I hope not hopefully you can get back up here let's make this delivery put right there oh crap almost fell I don't know if I have enough room to reverse kind of looks like I do I can't tell which part is driveway and which part is grass oh I'm slipping all right we should be good let's see what we can do I am slipping a little bit but I am doing fine here we go made [Music] it got delivery at the bagel store this place is really good I stopped here once so good but I don't know if it's open looks open oh yes is this The Bagel Box it is oh someone here I'll leave right here for you guys just one package okay good parking spot for a second I thought we're going to have to double Park but we are good so we got the vacuum cleaner store very interesting store what's up man just got one for you that's it God damn it no problem all right we got a shop in the corner of two main streets uh I guess we'll park like right here oh man not ideal but we got to do what we got to do Fine [Applause] Art what's up man H are you just got this one for you oh yeah good stuff I hope so have a good day no problem off this for all right man thanks take care that was an interesting space you got in there the restrooms so now I know there's a restroom here yes the motel hotel Holiday In hello hey how goes it just got two these packages for you thank you have a good day thanks all right we're two 3 hours into the route and I got to say I don't think it's going to snow that bad so I woke up today checked Instagram scrolled down the post and I saw that New Jersey was having a state of emergency I was like ooh it's gonna be a good Vlog today but as you can see not that bad so I was like huh let me read more into it and it seems like down the shore they got like 4 to 8 Ines of snow and more West they got like four to five and apparently we only get like one to around three s sticking on the the street which is very sad I was hoping I can show you guys the struggles of being being a delivery driver in a snowstorm but it seems like it's just going to be a light flurry nothing crazy but everything is going well so far the only thing is my hands my fingers are a little cold you can see how dry they are all right lunch time kind of hungry it's all I can think about is food here at Burger King oh thanks man all right can I get um the number one Whopper meal which cheese Yeah medium large can I get large with onion rings and let me get the cheesy tots the eight piece yeah that's it onion [Applause] rings cheesy tots guys check this out it's like macaroni cheese but lugg it form here's the Whopper American Whopper it's hot let me tast zesty very zesty so I can't really confirm or deny that these electric vans are good in the snow cuz as you can see there's barely any snow on the streets but one thing I can tell you is that in the mid Midwest where it's like subzero temperatures right now Teslas are dying and the Tesla Chargers don't work so that might be a future problem with electric cars when you can't drive in the cold cold areas oh fancy hey Amazon where do you want these right there oh everyone always ask me about the signing thing well their name receptionist and for a signature go back to my f days covid-19 C9 not trying to let anyone touch my scanner but please advise do not copy me if you get in trouble with your DSP and try blame on me it's not going to work all right headed back to the station to put our bags away mad bar and we got two packages we have to return all right guys I'm going to end the Vlog here got to recharge and next time I hope it smells more so I can show you the real life and the hard life of an Amazon driver there we go plugged in blinking
