in these parts it's wacky wednesday sue brinkman is with us we're going to be talking about a couple of semi-wacky things today one of them really wacky really far out like you know what on earth is happening to us in this country in this culture in western civilization it makes us sit up tall in our seat and say oh you know we've got to start to pay attention so we've got a really big topic coming up for you in just a few moments but first i want to remind you about some things that are going on in the women of grace world we've got lots of things that are going on in the women of grace world not the least of which is our upcoming women of grace retreat that's going to be held in san antonio texas i'm looking forward to being with you in san antonio texas the whole event gets started with the benedict enrichment seminar which begins on thursday september the 16th and runs through friday the 17th yours truly will be presenting it we're going to be talking about leading like the lady what does it mean to be a leader uh like our blessed mother and in what way was she a leader and how does that inspire us move us and direct us in the way in which we as women should go when it comes to this big area of leadership now you might be sitting there saying well this isn't for me i'm not a leader but i want to tell you something every one of you is a leader by virtue of your baptism every one of you is called to lead others to our lord jesus christ that is the call and the mission of evangelization so i don't want to hear i'm not a leader you are a leader you've been baptized to be a leader a leader of men to jesus christ amen so we've got all kinds of beautiful ways in which we are going to explore that according to the reality of our feminine genius in what way does a woman using the fullness of the gift of her gender become a leader for others leading them to virtue leading them to holiness leading them to blamelessness leading them to love leading them to their ultimate goal which is life on high in christ jesus it's a really really terrific uh enrichment seminar and i certainly do want for you to join us there again that's september 16th and the 17th now the evening of the 17th begins our retreat and it runs all the way through the evening of the 18th ending with a healing service i am so excited about the theme made for joy the call and gift of the catholic woman made for joy the call and gift of the catholic woman we're going to be talking about joy yes we are and joyful things and how we are able to acquire this fruit of the holy spirit so there and read all about those event details do want to remind you also that this month of august is dedicated to the immaculate heart of our blessed lady and i have a beautiful quote for you today that gives us insight into this beautiful heart of our mother this is given to us by saint louis de montfort and this is what he said if you put all the love of all the mothers into one heart if you put all the love of all the mothers into one heart it still would not equal the love of the heart of mary for her children i don't know if you're aware of it or not but you are a child of mary you are whether you accept that reality or not is another question but the fact is you are mary's child and you are mary's child because jesus christ is your brother and she is the mother of our lord so that makes her your mother too your spiritual mother to whom you can turn in times of difficulty and times of trial in times of controversy in those moments where you are uncertain which way to go your mother will be there to give you guidance and we have this beautiful passage i just wanted to read this to you in light of this motherhood of our blessed uh lady uh and in light of who you are and in in an effort really to help you to enter into this child of mary that you are called to be because when you enter into that and you accept that then you're able to really relish the graces that come by way of her spiritual maternity they're always coming to you but it's like a great big present that comes to you in the mail if you never open up the box you're never going to see what's inside of it and so it's like that with our mother she's always there mothering you but unless you you accept this motherhood of mary's unless you take it unto yourself right you really don't have the capacity to begin to experience it to live in it and to let it live in you and we need to do that we need to have it live in us because mo our mother only wants the best thing for us and the best thing for us is union with our son our lord jesus christ and she leads us there and this passage that i want to um read to you comes from revelation 12 and it is in verse 17 then the dragon was angry with the woman that's the evil one angry with our lady and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring on those who keep the commandments of god and bear testimony to jesus and he stood on the sand of the sea if you are keeping the commandments of god and you bear testimony to jesus you can be sure that the evil one is making war on you and our blessed mother wants to smite the head of the demon that's afflicting you in this moment we're going to be right back stay with us [Music] a lot of people that i think are holy and then you five years later you find out oh yeah ah yes and then the other people that let's just say maybe lack lack some social suavitate some sophistication and you think well that that was rude and then you get to know them and five years later you realize you know beneath that rough exterior there's a heart of gold called to communion with dr david anders this afternoon 2 eastern on ewtn radio when we pray we should talk to god it sounds simple it's not always that simple it's just like making any conversation though so sometimes we need prayer starters things that will give us a boost and get the conversation going the formal prayers we have in their church like the our father the hail mary the glory be even the creed all of these things are ways that we can begin to talk to god god doesn't get tired of hearing us say the standard prayers of the and i was just reading to you about that beautiful reality of being a child of mary that we are a child of mary whether we realize it or not and then i back that up with a passage from sacred scripture that i think is beneficial for us to read and read off and it's revelation 12 or 17. so you might want to mark that down take that into your time of meditation and see what the lord says to you in the midst of it all also reminding you once again about that beautiful event coming up in september starting on september 16th with the benedict enrichment seminar and then ending september the people say it's over the hump day but i like to say it's a wacky wednesday and we have sue brinkman with us we're going to be talking about some wacky things that's what we do on wednesdays sue is our staff researcher for women of grace and she researches the new age for us and does a marvelous job on the blog keeping us informed of things that we should be aware of that are going on in the culture of the day tackles the big issues and i want to tell you what this woman takes it on the chin and her research is deep so she is a very very valued part of of our evangelization efforts through women of grace and i want to welcome her today hello there sue hello there i am so happy to be with you and i'm glad you're giddy we always have fun when you're giddy we have so much fun with your giddy i know oh i know uh just thinking about a lot of things though that's going on i mean there are serious issues that are facing us right now and the more that that comes out like through the cdc and other places you know the more you know we we look at it and say on earth what is happening lord uh you know i'd rather be in the heavenlies where all glory is but lord we're not experiencing the glory of man here we need your glory uh lots and lots going on and the influence on the culture of our day by the occult continues continues to ramp up and now it's even being made apparent in big major brands and we're talking about sneakers here yes converse now converse is doing it it was nike a while ago now it's converse although nike nike claimed that they weren't behind that that was the satan sneakers and this was just some little group that bought a bunch of nike sneakers and then put blood in them and different you know demonic symbols and stuff on them and nike claimed no we have nothing to do with that only because there was so much blow back from it so now converse is now coming into the same amount of blowback by their new sneaker that has a inverted pentagram on it and and this sneaker was designed by a designer who was a a former catholic uh by the name of rick owens and he's talking about using this thimble as a upside down pentagram as a geometric diagram like that because in a very primal way they are a cultures grasp for control and a way to organize thoughts and systems i think what are you talking about it's an upside down pentagram where and the pet the upside down pentagram is exclusive to satanism it represents the bafflement which is the goat the goat's head and that is really only used by people who are very involved in satanism and i i put a symbol on the story on the blog so people can see it it really just looks like the star the pentagram inside of a circle but the pentagram is slightly on its side and they refer to that as the upside down pentagram but just to show you how they're marketing this now owens of course goes out and he's he's giving all the the 30 second sound bites on it he's saying you know a pentagram in this day and age with all of his associations i like the fact that it refers to an alternative system so this is what satanism is becoming now an alternative system and that suggests openness and empathy he says it suggests the pursuit of pleasure this pursuit of sensation but one of the main things that i think it suggests is empathy and a consideration of systems of living that might not be standard so that leads us to be more accepting and tolerant of other systems which i think is a good thing well yeah rick except if you're talking about satanism because you want to be accepting of them and make friends with them well sure you know they like to put curses on people and hex people you know are these the kind of people you really want to be friends with the satanist i mean the whole thing makes no sense and it and it's it's stated from a viewpoint that is not educated as to who satan is he's got some kind of idea of him that he's concocted in his mind and he's going out there and saying oh yeah this is great and converse is going along with it and selling these sneakers so um the next was his father vincent lampert he told the catholic news agency he doesn't agree with what they're doing there and he warns that that there's a danger with these types of designs and that they create a fascination with evil you know he says at first glance it might seem innocent you know who cares it's harmless fun right but he says we may think of it as nothing more than some form of entertainment but the devil can use this interest in things associated with the occult as an entry point to enter a person's life and that's how satan does it he does it in little things like this that you would think oh come on what's the harm in it it's just a little bit you know upside down pentagon on a sneaker what's the big deal but that's how he does it you know he never comes in the front door he always comes in the back door so you know you've got this this designer here southern california native he's very very popular he thinks it's it's oat couture to have an upside down pentagram on your converse sneakers and you know what he's not alone you look at what's going on with witchcraft and what they call the witchy fashion out there and these are designers like alexander mcqueen they're walking runways in milan paris new york and this is all these this dark witchy clothing that supposedly is just so in vogue right now and i think you know the public is not really going along with it i went onto their instagram page converse's instagram page and i read dozens of comics i did not find a single comment that supported these sneakers not a single one um the one lady said you know um what what is up with this ad i love converse but i can't be part of this darkness it's totally messed up another one is called it tasteless and then and one and i love this guy um his comment was it just sums it up so succinctly you all need jesus that's what he puts on the conference says you all need jesus yeah yeah that's it you said to me from the south that's it you all need them and but i didn't find out a single one so i'm thinking you know although the sneakers are sold out they sold out because it's a gimmick well yeah and they're well and they're sold out to a certain subset of our young adults because they're the ones that that are are deeply entrenched in this although i have to say that this fascination with satanism is something that and spiritism and all of these kinds of things but especially satanism is something i think that that has had a resurgence probably in the late 70s uh you know and we can think of a lot of rock groups who that were involved in all that kind of stuff you know i'm thinking of and and people out there are probably ticking them off in their head i don't think i need to name them uh you know we're we pray for these people right and lots of them are dead now because of of the abuse of drugs etc but we we know that dark music and that heavy metal music that was taking place in the late 70s um on into the 80s and the themes of that music and the lifestyles of those individuals was very dark what people don't know and don't understand is what goes on in satanic covens and there is ritual satanic abuse uh there is raping of women impregnation of of women uh purposely for the uh for for the distinct uh uh end result of sacrificing those babies uh you know on on halloween night and in other high holidays so these kinds of things this is part of that and people don't want to look at that it is not an alternative system and that brings up another point that i think that we should talk about for just a moment here and that is the use of language how language is used today to disguise evil or to to uh uh you know in some way begin to marginalize individuals and here you know when he's talking about you know it's an alternative system okay listen it's not an alternative system it's it's it's an abomination it's an abomination to god that comes from the pit of hell it's consorting with spirits it's a consorting with demons and people even if they you know think that this is all about fun they're dabbling with something that's very powerful and they're dabbling with things that are very dark and whether they intended or not they are providing an opening for any demonic spirit that that seeks out uh to to convolute their lives uh they're opening a door for that that demon to have activity in their lives and they're giving a consent though it's not an intentional consent it's a consent and so then that demon has a right to be there and to get extricated from that demon is a long and difficult process oh it so is and we get letters and emails all the time from people i just had one again within the last few days of someone saying you know she has a friend who's they everybody believes who knows this person they're suffering from horrible oppression their life is nothing but but one uh episode of bad luck after another and of course when you when she explains a little bit more what's going on there you know you find out well they've got ouija boards in the house they're involved in these different kinds of of new age type things and it's it's um yeah you can't play around with this there's no such thing as playing with this there's no such thing as just oh it's oh i'm just like reading my my horoscope just for fun it's never just for fun that's how he lures you in by making you think it's just for fun and i love what you said about the language on that because you're absolutely right and satan he spearheads that you know yoga is just exercised um ricky is just a massage uh potter's sorcery oh it's just fiction it's just juvenile fiction what's wrong with it this is how he does this and and and and like rick owens oh it's an alternative system well he's that's taken right out of satan's playbook sure let's just call it something that sounds fine and and it's going to make it fine it doesn't make it fine and satan just gets right on in there and he ruins people's lives and i mean he ruins their lives that's right we've had too many testimonies from people whose lives have been ruined by this stuff and we've seen it happen uh and we've seen it happen in families eight three three two eight eight ewtn that's 833-288-3986 it's the way you can join us live say well why do you keep talking about i mean it's just all so dark and it's also miserable well because you know remember hosea 4 6 my people perish for lack of knowledge we don't want for you to be uninformed we don't want for you to perish we don't want your kids to perish we don't want you to invite and consort with things that are going to cause you great spiritual damage and possibly even you know begin to manifest themselves in your lives this isn't a scare tactic this is reality we see it over and over and over again you know recently so i had the opportunity to interview adam bly and adam bly is what's called a peritus and that means he's an expert what's he an expert in demonology he works for the diocese of pittsburgh in pennsylvania and he is is part of the exorcism team there and he is a psychologist and he provides valuable information to the exorcist as an exorcism is taking place he he has there's two days of the week not going to name him two days of the week when this man is kept busy with this so think about this right this is one diocese two days of the week this is when he's doing this this stuff uh and you know so why do i say that because it's real and oftentimes people are unsuspecting when they get involved with this but it doesn't mean that the evil one uh is not uh as you say using the opportunity to bring havoc and misery into the lives of god's children oh he does and we let him in there so easily because of the language um what we do uh what what he does he tries to disguise everything as being innocent and and i'll tell you one of the reasons that if you remember 10 11 years ago when we started our new age blog the whole reason we did it was to give people information you know my background is as a reporter so i'm just bringing the facts boom boom boom boom these are the facts this is what it is um this is what the church says about it um and i lay it out there you know you can take it or leave it and like you say we take it on the chin a lot a lot of people who don't like what we're writing about it but then there's also a lot of people who do and they say hey thank you for giving me this information because i didn't know it and as soon as i learned this i stopped doing it right you know that's music to our ears here i'm gonna embrace when we hear that from people and and that's why we do what we do we just give them the facts and especially for those who have family members who are involved in this you go out to these blogs they're easy to read they're usually 800 words or less and and it's just got facts boom boom boom boom and you can just give this to the person and say look why don't you just you know check it out you know it's not just me saying it you know here's some people who are you know here's some facts and i have always put the links in there so they can go and read more if they want to um it's a great way to help to evangelize family members who are also involved in an easy way rather than you sitting there preaching because if you're like you know the way it is in my family they don't listen to us yeah you know the prophet isn't listened to in his own home it's it's you know other people can speak to them better so use the blogs for that that reason and that's why we wrote them and they're not preachy um we really just lay out those facts and just say okay this is what's going on here and this is what's wrong with it so um yeah and there's a lot and when these converse sneakers and these places come out with this stuff all it does is desensitize people to the presence of satan in the world um and you know children they don't know how to they don't know how to process this kind of stuff they think well maybe satan's not all that bad look he's on my sneakers right and it's like no no he is bad and he shouldn't be on your sneakers right and you should and he shouldn't be in your in your cartoons and he shouldn't be in your your literature that you're getting in your your uh government schools he shouldn't be in any of that i've got a book here it's written by dr edwards three and i love i love ted it's called the art of living the cardinal virtues and the freedom to love i'm going to be interviewing him this week for two programs on women of grace television he's going to be our live show guest on friday which is in our show on one of his other books but i just want to read this because it fits really well with what we're talking about here so um just bear with me and he's talking about this under the virtue of prudence and he says uh he says our secular world does not have the patience for a thoughtful consideration of what the purpose of human life might be it also sets aside our true destiny namely god himself and rejects the idea that god has revealed to us how we should live so instead of forming our minds with the right principles to make decisions that bring about what is truly good we are told from a very young age think for yourself be your own person do whatever you want in life instead of pointing us on the path that leads to virtue and true happiness the individualistic modern world trains us to follow our emotions and appetites go our own way make up our own path to happiness and even make up our own reality you be you be true to yourself be true to your feelings and then um he he ends it and he says you know we can't do that he says it's not surprising therefore that many people growing up with this mindset even christians find the decision-making process very difficult which of my many conflicting emotions and desires do i follow and in so many cases what happens is the evil one stirs up these appetites he stirs up our emotions we live in a world that says exactly what ted is saying in this book be what you want to be make up your own reality it's all about you it's not about anybody else uh you know just you follow your own compass you know follow your own star all of that kind of stuff and it leads people into misery and it leads people into perdition and so we've got to wake up you know so i want to say wake up america wake up wake up christians you know rise from your sleep as it says in sacred scripture i know he's so true he is so right what he's saying we don't have the patience to look this stuff up and i wonder what sometimes what do people do on the internet all day because by the time they type the question to me and sent it to my email address they could have looked it up and got the answer well you're absolutely right usually sticking their nose in can't hide yourself from him he wants honest prayers because he doesn't just want your words he wants your heart and when you pray with all your heart the answer you might get might not be a change in at a doctor's office asked her how long she has been a woman our world has gone nuts now first of all first of all we have gone nuts second of all that's not a compliment to your friend michael you know uh in the sense that you know this this receptionist is asking her that question we're talking about things being topsy-turvy it's not just pentagrams on shoes you know our minds are topsy-turvy our actions are topsy-turvy our mindset is topsy-turvy i don't know we're recreating everything janet that's what we're just recreating i go back to what what dr sri was saying in there people are letting their emotions and their feelings rule hey i feel like i want to be a man today so i'm a man you know right this is this is what they're doing they're they're they're letting their emotions rule this is okay i want to be spiritual but not religious you know which is transcendentalism you know i'm just going to let my feelings determine what is right for me feelings of all things feelings which change with the wind right and you're going to let your feelings lose you in life oh my gosh yes this doesn't make any sense at all know hormones can get us into a lot of trouble you know so you know hormones emotions all of these things they they get us into a lot of trouble we've got larry out there he's in new orleans louisiana today listening to us via serious good morning larry how are you uh good morning i'm doing well i hope you all are as well thank you for taking my call you're quite welcome we're happy to have you i had uh i have been listening this morning obviously and just had had a couple of comments um uh you know number one i uh if you ever read uh a compilation of the dreams of saint don bosco there's a book in particular i think it's called 40 dreams of saint don bosco and it's it's interesting to read through that and to read about the broad range of attacks subtle not so subtle and there's one particular section that that discusses his his visit to hell and the road to hell and and what that is like which is is quite sobering to say the least uh second of all i don't think that there is any more powerful sword than the rosary and you know i can't stress enough the importance of saying the rosary in this world where good has become bad and bad has become good well larry i think that sue and i would both agree with uh what you're saying you know and and you are right we have a great book out there that my friend tom sullivan and i wrote together uh called the rosary your weapon for spiritual warfare and it's a very important book because it talks about the power of the rosary uh and and it says exactly what you're saying that this this is the this is the weapon god's given to us and our lady at fatima told us that if we didn't pray the rosary every day you know that the the the sins and the lies of russia would spread right the doctrines of russia would spread and they have spread and and some of that doctrine is the marxist doctrine that we're seeing being implemented in so many ways within our own country and in addition to that uh part of that doctrine has to do with the the uh relativistic way of looking at the world so we've got a lot that's going on here and i i can't disagree with you on anything that you said sue do you want to comment i just i've read that book of the 40 dreams of saint john don bosco i mean they that his his recounting of hell is horrifying that's all i can say he was horrifying i mean don't let your kids read it or maybe we should let our kids read it but i mean talking about the walls of hell being white hot and it just it was very a very frightening recounting of what happened to him there and he actually when he came back from that dream he touched that wall and his hand was burned and when he woke up the next morning his hand was burned from having touched that in his dream remember that part about it um larry that was just really yeah yeah and that's intense that was the outermost wall that was i don't know a thousand leagues or whatever away from the center of hell and it still burned his hand [Music] yeah that was very intense that that particular all of the dreams are in there are very are very intense um but that one in particular uh was enough to give you nightmares which i guess he considered that to be a nightmare when he had that yeah for sure well you know there is that word that our lord gives us in sacred scripture when i return will i find any faith upon the earth right and so it lets us know that that and it talks about you know the elect even even if the elect right even among the elect so we we have to be very careful this doesn't mean that we live in fear we have enough fear-mongering going on it doesn't mean that we live in fear what it does mean cautious we're called to be hopeful uh but we're called to soldier on and uh i think our weapon as soldiers of jesus christ the rosary of course adoration of the blessed sacrament and prayer larry soviet union in particular and and your bridge to what we're seeing today around american essentially american marxism i had never never considered that i had always looked at at that as her am just so heartful heartfully sorry that i ever allowed my son to get involved in it um this was many years ago he was you know adhd and he wanted he always was bored he was very bright and i allowed him to get involved in this game think and and the funny thing well it's not funny but the serious thing about this is that many of the cards have like biblical um ideas in them so and that's what unfortunately trapped me thinking oh well this is you know this is historical biblical stuff well guess what i'm fast forward to my life now and my my poor son's life he has gotten into so much trouble i believe i truly believe he's demonically possessed i do believe he has he also has you know serious health problems he's been um diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenia he's been in and out of psychiatric hospitals now he's in jail because he went against i know it's horrible it's horrible it has ruined his life it's ruined his married life all i can do is i i of course now am pr i'm a prayer warrior i pray the rosary all the time i have done forgiveness i've i've been i've been to confession i have to keep going i just i feel terrible as a mom and i'm just warning other mothers this is not fun and games it's it's a disaster and um i just i really just want to warn everyone it was it was not a good choice and now i've got to go and talk to my daughter-in-law who allowed this and it's ruined their married life like i said and i'm very concerned for my grandchildren that she has got to get rid of all that stuff that's in their house oh yes we gotta get it out we gotta clean that house out and you know i just hope to god she doesn't give me a hard time because this is really really a frightening situation and it's not getting any better oh that's that's so sad did you i'm so sorry to hear that but you know what your prayer your choice of prayer is exactly what you should be doing um as as for magic the gathering uh yeah that that game is not good um it was it was created by a a mathematician it's a very complex game um yes there was a dungeons and dragons enthusiasts um and it uses cards that are linked to five different kinds of magic and we're talking about sorcery now not as mad latin magic tricks we're talking about slavery right so players who role play they role play as sorcerers and they use the cards to destroy their opponent before their opponent destroys them right you know through the use of spells enchantments yeah i was thinking it was a game like chess you know a war game which i don't know i guess yes it is very complicated and it is for the very bright but unfortunately sometimes the bright people think too much and they get too involved in it and it does just like uh you were saying about the you know the um symbols it it makes them curious about sorcery and about you know the demon life and and it's all i can say is don't go there yeah don't go there don't go there it's interesting it's interesting what you say there judy um about you know uh people that are very intelligent the uh years ago i knew a man who had been involved in the occult he had come into the faith uh subsequent to that and and really had repented renounced and rejected everything that he had been involved in it had gone through a lot of deliverance prayer and things of that nature uh but he was very bright very intelligent man and he said you know it is far easier to um to trap a bright person in the occult than it is to trap someone you know who is less intelligent he said he said the uh reason for that is because those individuals who are very very intelligent want to try to figure things out and they have the capacity to do so and so they get they get tricked by their own capacities right and this becomes an area of real fascination and they get so involved uh and and they're too involved by the time they realize what's going on there uh and and i always thought of that as being very interesting because if you look back really see what the at the history of the people that have have really uh been champions of the occult spiritists for example and and uh those that have been you know the neo-pagans and people that have been involved in this neo-satanism even uh we we discover that generally speaking they're very very bright people oh absolutely they are yes that's that's the truth but but i'll tell you some of the people that are involved in this particular game you know they're they're role-playing as a sorcerer so they're putting on the habit of a sorcerer they're they're using cards the different kinds of magic and and who how do we know that they're not and this is an online game so they're playing with all kinds of people that you don't know um how do we know if if they're not invoking those spirits truly and bringing those spirits such as chaos i had no idea there was so much strength in that and i'm oh yeah you know like i said i'm just i am just so hardly sorry that i got roped into it and now i'm trying to backpedal and and i have a very serious seriously ill son and i blame half of it for that i really do so or maybe more you know i'm just sick about the whole thing but i just want to pass it on and i just hope to god that and i pray every moment of every day that uh he forgives me and and puts us back in a state of grace well you know what judy often times we find ourselves through ignorance getting involved in things we ought not to be involved in god understands that we're weak human persons we have concupiscence we've got a san andreas fault that runs through our soul which is called the effects of original sin so the fact that that we fall victim to these things is one thing staying in them is another thing rejecting them as you are doing is what the lord would have you do and his mercy is greater than any kind of sin uh his mercy is greater than any kind of ignorance that we might have and he will come in and he will he will restore and he will renew he promises us that he says that romans 8 28 for god works all things to the good for those who are called according to his purposes so good can come out of this and you're you're you're illustrating a good right now by sharing this information about your your son with everybody that's listening today because you're giving credibility to that which is not to that which uh the world says is not or is just fun but you're giving credibility to that which is and evil is evil does exist so you're already living out romans 8 28 just by this phone call um he tells us you know in um uh joel i think it's chapter 2 verse 25 he says um that he will restore what the locusts have eaten and your prayers for your son are about that process you know you're standing in the gap there and you might not see it in this life but it doesn't really matter as long as that conversation between him and the lord takes place and he says yes to him and as the soul is separating the body all is well and all ends well so you keep praying for him and pray for yourself and if you feel that you need to go and talk with a priest about this somebody that uh you know has knowledge of these things i don't think that would be a bad idea because the evil one they don't play fair do they sue i mean we might not know that we're invoking spirits when we're just reading these things our intention might be there but the spirits take advantage of that so absolutely absolutely i suggest judy go ahead they don't want you to know they don't want you to know they're they're happy that you're you're doing this in ignorance they they truly are yeah i will definitely go speak to a priest and and get involved maybe even the youth program just to warn parents about something like this because i think we all are confused you know i mean i shouldn't say all of us but some of us just don't understand how serious this is and just to go back to the uh roman day 28 that's the date of my birthday and i is so important he you know he says that you know we we don't even know what virtue is anymore you talk about the cardinal virtues you talk about you know uh you know what is it prudence and justice and fortitude and temperance we talk about these things but people don't they don't even know what that means we're not raising our children according to virtues you know we're out there trying to figure it out uh and many times we're reactors rather than actors we've got to be actors with our children we've got to raise them up in the virtues we've got to train them in the virtues as their children you know uh and and he goes it's a it's an excellent book because he goes into the subcategories it's all based on the summa but you know how ted he's a very good teacher and and so he delineates it and explains it extremely well so it's it's quite a valuable book but invaluable for as you say this topic because we're not acting with prudence today we're just doing whatever we want to do we're not like you said sue we're not thinking it through no we're not thinking we're not using our heads anymore we don't think anymore we're an unthinking people we have determined nope just however i feel that's how i want to go with it and we have to be intentional about it so there are some words of advice for all of us including sue and me today right let's just be about the business
