Window Treatments for Sliding Glass Doors

hey guys this is lori from homestead window treatments sliders nobody seems to know what to do with sliders anymore um we've been using those vertical shades forever they're a little a little outdated you know some of the newer fabrics are pretty but i wanted to show you some other options of what we can do these are the hunter douglas luminettes they pretty much do the same thing as that old school vertical but they have this nice sheer vein inside so it kind of just filters the light a little bit so you can still see outside but when need be you can just close them there's a vein inside so you have full privacy so you could do that and also if you it's a gorgeous day you need to get outside and open the slider you can just open it and push it out of the way you could either do a left stack or a right stack depending upon how your slider works or sometimes people do a center stack and just have it stack off and it just looks like beautiful drapery on the sides another option it are these uh styling panels a little more contemporary looking and they're just simple panels this particular one we have not motorized but you just open them up and they just slide over they do stack so they do take up a little bit more space on the window sometimes we'll make it a little bit larger than the door to kind of stack off onto the wall it's not where the veins open so you either have it open or closed but this is also a nice look [Applause] another way of treating a sliding glass door is doing something horizontal instead of vertical we've been doing a lot of horizontal products on sliders lately the plus side is you can just push it up and get it totally out of the way so that if it's a door that you're going through all day long and you don't want to have that stack on the side you just push it up and get it out of the way the most popular one i do a lot is the honeycombs this is a duet and it literally just lifts up this stacks up pretty tightly this particular one also has a top-down bottom-up option where sometimes maybe if you want the privacy in the room but you still want a little bit of light to come up through the top you can do that one thing i suggest sometimes on a slider you don't want to be bending all the way to the floor with a cordless option so we would do something you know with a wand to raise and lower that makes it a little easier so you're not really crouching all the way down to the floor just about any horizontal product you can do on a slider another pretty one is this vignette the only thing with this vignette is that it stacks up kind of high so we usually mount it a little bit higher than the molding so as it goes up it pretty much will just look like a nice balance going across the window so it kind of treats the window with a blind and drapery as well so you can eliminate doing anything extra on it
