Will Ferrell Goes Sneaker Shopping With Complex

shopping today going to see what he's feeling what he's not and then hopefully he's going to buy some sneakers looking forward to it let's [Music] go will I want to take it all the way back obviously we're in like the Jordan one section when did sneakers start to matter for you I think they always mattered you know even as a little kid you know we didn't have a a a ton of money growing up so you'd get your new pair of shoes probably to start the school year off and it it became that thing I tried to keep my my shoes looking as pristine for as long as I could you know other kids would try to step you know do that right yeah right on and uh which was always were you defending them of course I I was punching other children to to keep them them away from my sneakers but no I always love shoes yeah and then like fast forwarding you know three sport athlete in high school University High 63 Center it was right around the time that Jordan was but even magic bird Converse ads when you were playing basketball do you remember any of that I remember all of it I remember that you know magic and bird that was the converse was really the big shoe I always wore aidas cuz I have a very narrow foot okay okay got a narrow skinny foot all right very European petite foot uh and uh my my my foot smokes cigarettes that's how European okay okay my foot just chilling outside the cafe but uh exactly and then but I remember that uh yeah it would have been 85 86 it's right around the time so my senior year in high school and a lot of the high schools were getting samples of these new Air Jordans and and I literally had one of yeah you had them I had them cuz you were playing basketball playing B no but for basketball and we got to order them and they were super cool but ours were our colors were white and navy blue okay and wearing a pair of Jordans I averaged 1.2 points a game okay but I was Captain of our team I thought I was a lot no I was Sixth Man a lot of hustle rebounding cheing the guys all the intangible yes maybe not in the box score don't show up in the box score awesome let's go to the second section we got to talk some low profile Adidas and some new balance oh I'm all about low profile let's do it okay will there's a special pair of sneakers that you kept throughout the years from a movie an iconic scene the old school streaking sneakers right the uh you want on damn Patrick the green Adidas yeah what made you keep those and such a special pair for you do you still have them I just remember the the costume designer on that movie was like I think you need to keep these shoes and uh they were kind of a wild design and the weird green and I mean if you're going to run naked in a movie and the only article of clothing on you are the shoes you might as well hold on to them you put them in the museum one day you put them in the museum exactly you put them in the museum one day and then we're in this section because I feel like you know you talked about Adidas back in the day but even now we'll see you and like lowprofile suede Adidas classic SAS gazel all like Rod labors all kind of like in your lane what do you like about Adidas I just love kind of the classic design and the fact that they've started to play around with that uh with the color schemes I also it's funny I used to run marathons and I did them all in the Cayu it's crazy because like the gel kyanu and A6 mesh right in general has been such a big Trend off so I was way ahead exactly 20 my last marathon was 2003 okay see so it always takes 20 years to catch up to what I'm wearing that's what we're saying this shoe I don't know though this looks like if you if a shoe was a burrito I think this is the design cactus plant flea 2 yeah released this year right flea 2 yes after flea the basis for big sneaker head but no unrelated yeah this is uh can we see you in one this is a lot okay this is a lot so you were running in the Kano and you see like you know we talked about the Jordans but just to see like the mesh Runners and the lowprofile Adidas is it something that you like to see the parody kind of in the market no I I mean yes I'm all about parody in the marketplace I've always been it's like the salary cap in the NBA uh no I mean it's I think it's fun to see all these I mean competition forces all of these kind of innovative fun things things that you're seeing in the shoe space it is called the shoe space right you sneaker Market shoe space sneaker space you're good you're good another pair you actually brought yes the Jackie Moon ones yes right these are the actual shoes we wore or I wore in Semi-Pro yes they're kind of amazing because we were we were shooting basketball scenes for 60% of that movie and despite the fact that they don't you know these shoes don't have the technology that shoes have today these were still pretty comfortable and they're just it's just a cool looking [Music] shoe will we see you Courtside a lot and there's a few moments I want to talk about we had Jason sedus on the show boo no no I love Jason and he's wearing like a classic pair of Nike Dunks the Argon and you have your Puma s yeah Puma Classics are you ever for big games picking out like certain Footwear or or it's just how you feel that night I no there I mean if I have a certain shoe like I have some purple and gold Adidas yes that I'll sometimes wear for the Laker games but otherwise I'm just kind of randomly mixing things up are you ever talking sneakers with the people you're sitting with or no yes I'm talking sneakers though as a commodity okay yes F low sell High okay uh is the right place for no I'm never talking sneakers okay and I want to get to elf I don't like to tell didn't wear shoes he didn't no but there's a there's some great lowkey sneaker moments for related to elf obviously elf it's the number one movie of the Season still but someone who's playing Amazing in 2022 did you see Tyrese halberton I never saw those Tyrese halberton custom elf shoes that is hilarious dropped 29 that night it was in December of 2022 but what's it like to see just the love of that movie even expand to like NBA players like all stars wearing them on their shoes yeah I mean you're you know working in this business you're lucky to to have one movie or one project that anyone recognizes you for so to have something that is kind of lives on and on like elf is uh is incredible and uh and to see it pop up in really interesting in different creative ways yes the fact that it could you know get into the NBA Zeitgeist is is is really cool considering while I was making it I had moments where I thought this could be the last movie I ever make yeah well so crushed it amazing it all worked before we go got to give you a gift I don't know if you ever seen these have you ever seen these Nike SPS no so these are the Anchor Man Nike SB dunk that takes design design from your character we got them for you in your size smells like Scotch see yeah it does and yeah so these were and men's cologne these were released I think 2009 and we found a pair for you so these are going to come home with you god thank you so much and your si inredible uh 15 right uh-oh look our producer we messed that up 11 and A2 perfect right here thank you thank you so much thanks I appreciate it absolutely I can't wait to
