foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign the convergence mod [Music] while there are many great mods for all of the souls games convergence is one that consistently has all the souls players excited due to the sheer scope of the changes that it makes the alpha test of the olden ring version is available currently and after doing my first playthrough of it I thought I'd make this video to try and convince anyone who can play it to do so and show anyone who can't what mods like this are all about again this is an alpha test so I'd expect many more things to have changed in the four-wheel Ace this mod adds in new spells new builds new weapons new bosses and even new areas to elderly it also changes the balance and progression route of the game but what's most impressive about this is that the mods creators have managed to do it with such a high level of Polish the biggest compliment I can pay convergence is that if I never played Elden ring before playing this I think I'd struggle to work out which bits have been done by the modders and if your work could get mistaken for from softwares for me that's as high as praise gets welcome to the convergence [Music] so the first thing you see is 27 new starting classes all with immensely cool looking starting gear and designed with certain builds in mind um not today this was such a tough choice but eventually I settled on the aberrant heretic as it was kitted out for an in-arcane build which isn't really something you can do in the vanilla game due to how rubbish the two Thorn spells are and as soon as you load into the game you can already tell that things are a little different so I run over to grab the finger and this should totally be an option in the main game the convergence adds a whole bunch of little quality of life changes like this and starting a run without having to grab this stuff was awesome so time to get started and immediately I was bowled another curveball from what I've seen I'm relatively sure that every starting class has a different starting location and mine was the artist Shack in Leonia and there was a welcome package waiting for me I picked up these two items one of which I investigated immediately and the other I completely forgot about for an hour or so popping this fancy looking Rune gave me three spells the famously [ __ ] Briars of Sin from the main game and two new shiny ones so the first thing I had to work out was where to start I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to start here in the hernia or head back towards Lim grave so I thought I'd go find a couple of nearby bosses to find out whether the area scaling was different in this mod this was also the point that I realized that the broadsword I thought my character had in the class selector was actually the regalia a video checked but not just the standard weapon it also has in a blade sounds pretty op already after trying out a couple of bosses I decided that Lim grave was the place to be so I started making my way there a quick note about my starting class although it ended up being ridiculously cool it probably wasn't the best class to pick when it comes to showcasing the plethora of new spells and incantations in this mod as I could really only use the thorn ones I'll definitely be doing another playthrough of this mod with a more versatile character very soon if you'd like to see a video on that let me know in the comments so as I headed to South Leonia I discovered the first noticeable area change yeah the broken bridge between limgrave and Leonia has been fixed and just as I thought my first impressions of this mod couldn't be any better as I headed into Lim grave to light the storm Hill Grace something amazing happened [Music] I took the chance discovery of my tiny Shield as a sign that I should head to The Crucible night in the evergel but as I was making my way there I noticed a new tiny urge tree and this chap standing guard he didn't seem particularly bothered by me so I left him alone and continued down to Old stompey considering this Crucible night has way more Health than anything else in Lim grave and my damage wasn't that bad I figured Lim grave had to be the place to start my two new spells were awesome one encased me and thorns allowing me to proc bleed by rolling into enemies and the other coated my sword in Thorns for extra damage and more bleed after brushing up on my Crucible parries something that I'd be very thankful for later in the game I headed down the hill towards the gate front and watch what happens when you try and light this grace I've always found it funny how melaner casually gives you a varti video around the campfire whilst sitting 10 foot away from these nights in the main gate and I guess the more creators feel the same way so I rested at the other Grace and continued on towards weeping peninsula on my way I killed this Scarab and grabbed what is usually a somber smithing one but convergence deals with weapon upgrades in the same way that the Dark Souls games and bloodborne do with there being four different tiers for each system with no strict numbering mercifully this is the same for smithing weapons too so upgrading both weapon systems in this mod is far less tedious so the reason that I came to weeping was for the sacred tears which are exactly where they are in the main game so I rode through and grabbed them speaking of General setup no sleepy caled dragons were killed in this video and no Bridges were yielded off of but Grail and the Knights Cavalry are both unchanged in this mod so if you want to get overpowered early you can you can weeping seemed pretty standard but I did want to investigate the minor Earth tree as that earlier encounter suggested they might have more significance in convergence when I killed the tree Sentinel here I got two new items instead of the physic tears and the teleporter in front of the earth tree activated and from it I found that I could walk directly to every other minor archery in the game so pretty much every area is accessible right from the start it's for those new items the new Remnant craft ing menu accessible a Grace you can craft these into a selection of physics tips one of the remnants allowed for the stat boosting ones including some new hybrid tiers and the other for the more defensive ones [Music] I went for an in-arcane booster and a stamina recovery tier at this point I went and fought some side bosses around limb Grove and explored a little more at the minor archery in the Miss Wood I found convergence's first additional enemy this Earth tree Sentry shares his moveset with the zamor Warriors and was really fun to find [Music] now I hadn't come across any talismans yet and since I started with all of the slots unlocked I headed across to the Mist wood ruins to see if the ax Talisman was there it wasn't but in its place I got another remnant and nearby I found a strange note and this reminded me about the strange note I received right at the start of the game this told me locations where I could find new spells and armor specifically for my class and build so the forlorn ever jail was the place to start before this I headed to Fort height which led to a surprise trip to Fort Yale and galet while I was here I grabbed what is usually the star Scourge heirloom but again it was another groovy Remnant thing see what these were I traveled up to the new massive four in the center of dragon Barrow to find a Grace turns out it's the same deal as the physic you can craft these remnants into talismans from all over the main game along with some additional ones I went for the wing Sword and the blue dancer charm here after a little more caled exploration I headed back to the forlorn evergel for the first Rune on my build list killed the Bloodhound Knight and grabbed some new spells and to test them out I headed to Market both the Briar spell and the thornburst seemed pretty weak so I stuck with my original buff spells and went for standard Parry strats and this is a good opportunity to talk about the theme that runs all the way through this mod which I like to call the [ __ ] rule if there is a boss an area or a particular attack in the main game that regularly makes you slam down your controller and loudly Proclaim this is [ __ ] there's a very strong chance that this mod has done something about it you can see this here with two particular attacks the fast one too that's very hard to dodge even if you know what you're doing in this fight and the double slash into the slam which I don't think I've ever dodged once both of these attacks have been slowed down a little to give you a Fighting Chance of dodging them then on to godric and I absolutely love what this mod has done to godric and what it's done is give him more Health than album Beast made him hit like a train and sped up most of his moveset meaning that those cavernous openings we usually have for attacks aren't an option honestly and I didn't expect to be saying this in a video anytime soon but I spent half an hour dying to godric and loved every second it felt like fighting him on my first playthrough again godric is such a cool boss but it's sometimes hard to appreciate him fully due to how slow and easy he is once you've fought him a few times even rl1 with the plus zero club isn't that challenging but in this mod he is fierce and dangerous and actually beating him here although I didn't feel particularly under leveled actually felt like an achievement [Music] then I headed to rail Lucario and there was one thought bubbling through my mind the whole way through the largely unchanged dungeon if they've given Red Wolf eldenbeast's health bar and decent damage then this is going to be a 50 hour run because as the eagle-eyed regular viewer of my channel will know I still utterly suck at fighting him however when I walked in bowls is here instead like wolf bowls as imposing as he is isn't that dangerous he even got a bit confused and ran into a wall at one point don't worry mate we've all been there on a Friday night then up to Ronaldo Moon groom was full of beans that day and even jumped on the lift with me after dealing with him I found another beautiful quality of life Edition from the convergence team I'm Really Gonna Miss This one in standard runs now despite my earlier statement about Lim grave being the place to start when it comes to the Legacy dungeons You may wish to consider Reya Lucario first because of how ferocious godric is in contrast a very balanced ranala and bowls running into things may be a better option for some other than a bit of a makeover the Ronaldo fight is unchanged [Music] from here I went up to mount gilmir for some weapon upgrades and into volcano manner for Noble nothing new in the noble fight parries reposts and my trusty thorny Buffs then to the Shaded castle for the second Rune on my build list ellermere has a lot of health and my raw damage wasn't great but luckily the bleed did most of the heavy lifting foreign [Music] outside Langdale for some extra runes [Music] to the outer splato for the third Rune I needed in the unsightly catacombs and obviously I know where the unsightly Care Homes are I definitely didn't go to the sages cave instead so to get the Rune I had to kill the perfumer and the Miss begotten the Miss begotten was easy enough with standard melee and for the perfumer I used another new spell telekinetic assault is very similar to the projectile sword thrown by the Bell bearing Hunters this kept me well out of the way of the perfumer's range now as I had three I figured I'd go grab the final room which is in ah well surely it will be in a nice chest in elphil somewhere I'm sure the one boss in elphil won't have it um so I walked to the Earth tree in the snow field headed into ordna town and then into the halictory now the third Rune had given me one of my favorite Spells Of The Run sadistically as well as buffing your physical attacks it also gives you melania's life steal ability so even though it injures you to cast you can make back that Health by attacking and negate damage you get in fights allowing you to play far more aggressively think bloodborne's rally system only stronger for Loretta I used all of these character Buffs which can all be used together in convergence to make a light work of her with just parries and r1s [Music] then into l5l the first max level somber I found was here where the usual plus 10 is in convergence you generally find the weapon upgrades of the same value are found in the same place as the main game so by this time I'd come to terms with the fact that my final Rune wouldn't be neatly tucked away in the chest and headed down to Millennium now many things have changed about the Millennia fire on this mod most notably her quick one two has been slowed down so that it can be parried or dodged without lizard-like reflexes I was actually a little nervous that that might interfere with the Parry timings but thankfully if you parry as usual you'll still get it and the wind-up on waterfowl has been extended so you can now run away from the first two flurries at Point Blank Range now controversially I am a fan of vanilla waterfowl but I know this will be very popular with a large amount of plights the best change in my opinion though without can be parrot and the final addition to this fight thank you yeah if you haven't seen that before it's the original design for waterfowl this was present on patch 1.00 but before you get the clock bases out this is Parable too Melania definitely isn't scaled as high as usual in this mod and he's designed to be full earlier but she's still very dangerous compared to a lot of the remaining bosses so for the smoothest ride I'd leave her until a little later if you're not doing a thorn build and she didn't drop the rune oh [Music] now back to Langdale for Godfrey and in convergence it's not Godfrey instead we get Sega and I use this as an opportunity to try out some new cool spells again a lot of these were passive Buffs for physical damage and spell casting but strangling Briars did a little tick damage before exploding and doing a big chunk this will be great for a really passive play style another was a bleed version of Korean slicer which I didn't even try because I was certain it would be too tempting to use for the rest of the Run and I also had blood Comet which deals a fair chunk and propped bleed Sega is a really cool fight great moveset he's really nice to fight melee but also had some great long-range attacks if you try and kite him I thought this was a really solid choice for a mod So based on spells as Godfrey is so cheatable from Rage on checking out the mezzanine upstairs I found the Albury set which was one of the sets on my build checklist for a nice change of fashion nothing new in the morgock fight but here I discovered another awesome spell I'd picked up in the crimson grayblade it dealt massive damage and propped bleed in two hits in a moveset that reminded me of bloodborne's holy Moonlight sword [Music] then I headed back to caled for red main castle and radar and this was the first really notable change I'd found in convergence red main Castle has been completely transformed into what I think it always should have been a legacy dungeon that you have to fight your way through in order to get to radar after a good half hour of battling through it I was out of flasks low on health and hoping for a gray suit a true Dark Souls experience this was epic and I eventually got to the plaza there was a boss door despite the fact that there wouldn't be in the main game at this point and in here was Dak a humanoid boss with a very cool ruins Great Sword move set like a lot of the additional bosses he was parryable nothing new in the radon fight and at this point in the mod I felt very over leveled for him so definitely do this one a little earlier if you want a good scrap with your cool convergence weapons and spells next up was the mountain tops and fire Giant nothing much to report here however I think I did break my own record for the longest fire giant Phase 2 I've ever done I was playing it super safe but Phase 2 lasted nearly seven minutes due to my relatively low base damage and Reliance on bleed now this part is a little different and when I let the grace here this doorway also let up all the way through the playthrough the demigod bosses had been dropping the first second third and fourth keys to the forge so I was confident I was okay here but when I tried to get through it it told me to seek Malika now the forge is usually the way you get to Malachi and after checking my warp list I realized I couldn't walk to faramazula either but there's one other method in the base game to kind of get to Farah so I headed up to the four belfreys and took the teleporter to the usually isolated area of front and this is what I found a massive platforming section down to the main dungeon going through this section really made me think about how much I love these sorts of things in France off games I know from software isn't synonymous with platforming but every time they add a little section of it it's always so so good so I really hope that we see stuff like this in the DLC halfway down Grace and a Boss Arena through the fog gate I found a fight with lanciaks now I will admit that I think I fought Lancy ax in the main game twice so I don't know the move set well enough to know whether this is just vanilla lanci ax or it's awkward but either way it's a really cool boss fight and this wouldn't feel at all out of place in the main game [Music] thank you with a little more platforming I made it into the dungeon and through to the transep grace through forearm I picked up enough upgrade materials to Max both of my weapons which was a good thing because I didn't have any sleep pots for this next fight all right come on then oh [ __ ] so in place of the sticky Bandits we have serum a red main lion with a bunch of insanely cool lightning attacks and again I think the biggest compliment I can give to all of the bosses added to this mod is that if you told me they're actually just bosses from the main game that I'd missed it wouldn't be that unbelievable this is a really cool fight and certainly a little less tedious than this room's standard residence foreign nothing new on Beast or malacath as far as I could see [Music] so with matter cap down I could finally access the forge but before I headed to the late game I wanted to do some more exploring and a visit to the town of Celia in caled ended with an unexpected trip to ainsel River and then to the lake of Rock and yeah it's changed a bit the lake of rock was probably my favorite part of this mod rather than the standard panicked run through the swamp the lake is now a massive platforming section filled with those archers that can snipe you from a thousand yards away and although on the surface this seems like a positively evil choice this whole section was evidence to me that not only this mod is made by from software ferns that part is obvious but made by people who understand the magic of from software games by which I mean challenging sections that cause you to supper but in a way that you immediately look back on fondly when you spend half an hour losing both your sanity and your hair dying to the same section over and over again while shouting [ __ ] at the top of your voice between every attempt and then when you finally get through you say God that was Bloody brilliant I want to do that again that's how you know you're playing a from software game and this mod Treads that very thin line beautifully The Dragon King Soldier now has his own bossary so I went down to fight him my sadistic Glee spell meant that I could completely negate the effects of the rock as long as I kept attacking after the lake I continued exploring some of the other underground areas most of which were unchanged from vanilla foreign check out deep root depths not expecting anything new but as I got booted off tauren on my way through the roots and noticed this ladder [Music] I realize convergence had another surprise install again deep root has been transformed into two mini dungeons that you have to fight your way through to get to bosses the first was hard as nightmares fighting for a sea of hard-hitting scaly Miss begottens to get to The Crucible night the other was filled with Knox Warriors and iron balls leading to an incredibly beefy dragonkin soldier with a supercharged and unbelievably brutal Frost moveset thinking that this was all the mod had added to this area I headed up the branches towards fears Champs and then found yet another new area filled with Undead fighting through this led me to another added boss fight with the blighted Knox ancestor who had some absolutely insane Frost attacks and I realized just in time that like the undead he can resurrect when he was down I got a message saying that the Lich Dragon was now accessible so no fears Champs in this mod and I can't say that I miss them the fortissac's fire was unchanged but I sure will miss having my blood Moonlight spell when I fight him in the future because this was really good for him last up before the end game I headed to mogwyn's Palace and while the area itself didn't seem much different I did notice a new teleporter near the palace Grace and here is a great example of why you should never grab snacks during a convergence mod loadings group Moog is again unchanged but I think he might be the highest scaled boss in this mod this monstrous bleed build I'd made was theoretically the perfect build for him and yet this was still a very long fight so this is probably one to leave until later in your playthrough foreign capital and whilst being able to use torrent here was a nice addition it didn't do much to quell the crushing dread I was feeling about the next fight fighting old wanky MC spamalov on a mod that adds hundreds of new spells okay here we go let's um let's let's watch that again shall we feel like I didn't see it properly maybe maybe one more okay last one all right definitely last one this is the best mod ever made yes in convergence the [ __ ] rule has deleted the Gideon fight from the game in a move that prompted from me anyway thunderous Applause in his place we get scarred who's effectively just a really tanky and dangerous Crucible Knight at least that's what you think until you get him to 70 health at which point he goes absolutely batshit he gains moves from not only The Crucible Knights but also from Beast clergyman and the Bloodhound Knights he's insanely fast chaining his many spells together which forces the kind of concentration required for late game Sakura and quite a few of his moves were able to one shot me even on this muscular looking health bar so has the convergence swapped out one annoyingly overtuned spell spammer for another not really because although this scarred fire was incredibly tough thankfully tough enough to knock the godric fire off the top of the death count after this run beating him felt like a real achievement [Music] whereas every time I have a half an hour soul-destroying scrap with Gideon I always walk away thinking well that was harder than it needed to be scarred is the most impressive boss in convergence mod for me because he feels more like a from software enemy than the boss he replaces honestly Sterling work on this one while the Godfrey horrorlu fight is unchanged from vanilla the horaloo fight did allow me to show off another really cool Thorn sorcery this massive blood Hammer that deals a massive amount of boys damage this was really fun to fight orally win [Music] and finally radagon and eldenbeast and as you might expect my groovy bleed build really wasn't the best for this one so I had to really get stuck in with melee and parries I'm sure this fight would look very different indeed with some of the new flame spells added in this mod [Music] and for the olden beast fight convergence gave me a Parting Gift of being able to use torrent in the fight allowing for much easier Dodges of some of the Spells along with some very cool looking Dismount Dodges of the melee attacks and as a final nod to the [ __ ] roll convergence transformed Elden Stars into a much more manageable AOE [Music] so there we are the convergence mod Alpha test playing through this mod was an incredible experience the team behind it deserve massive credit for the Polish and incredible design of the new content that has been added and I absolutely cannot wait for more the mod also serves as a perfect reminder of just how good the source material is the community around these games is only as strong as it is because of the Exquisite way in which from software builds and Designs these worlds I hope you've enjoyed this video if you have do let me know
