Why pro supports are better than you

hello it's ti season which means every pro player ever is queuing on the same server including the ones that were too to make ti and the meta is still to block these goddamn creep camps if you want to win the laning phase in 2021 you have to block these camps with centuries otherwise you're not a good support and you're not going to win lanes but the saving grace is that these pro players have invented some really cool warding positions and warding tricks that you can use to win the laning stage by blocking these camps and that's what i'm going to show you in this video today hello future why i'm speaking like that is a rewarding trick that you can use these camps now have verticality don't ask me why but if i take a ward a sentry i should say and i try to place it as close to the edge as possible and then place it as soon as it allows me while i'm moving my mouse up and i go up here and we look at the camp which of course has not spawned yet uh this actually blocks the camp and the cool thing about this particular ward here is that if somebody puts an observer ward on the high ground here and then they century somewhere here they're still not going to get vision vision of this piece of because it's blocked out by the goddamn tree so you might be thinking jenkins why the hell are you in a practice lobby sir that is disingenuous clearly this is impractical because otherwise you would show us pub footage and that's true sometimes it is actually really hard to find clips for the things i'm talking about in videos just because stuff in dota doesn't happen that often but this is so goddamn common that you can beat people with wards like this that i could pull up like five of my recent replays and it happens in more than half of them and here's one of those so i want to show you in this clip number one a nice war that you can place as a dire offlane support and uh what you shouldn't do as a safe lane support and this goes for on both sides this ward blocks the camp right and so this guy is engaging in this meta of i'm going to century block your camp you're going to century block my camp neither of us are going to be able to pull the lane's going to be 50 50. but this is a dog ward never do this the reason you shouldn't do this award is because if i century block his camp with a century ward not only will i be blocking his camp but i can also deward his ward so you always want to make sure that your blocking sentries are out of range so that they're not just going to be hit by the blocking century in your camp so this is a a very suicidal ward right here and here we can see there i am brother bear equals ester which by the way is bsj's opinion he genuinely thinks that's an s to your disney movie so go ahead and flame him for that this is one of my favorite wards on the dire side offlane the reason that this ward is nice is because usually the radiant supports will place a sensory wart over here this ward they never see it they have to walk all the way around here to see this warden even then there's some weird tree blockages happening and so this one you always get a bunch of century awards where is this that's what my tidehunter said and we horribly lost this game but i want to show you this replay anyway because there was a dank ward that i placed or d ward so look at where the where this is placed uh this is kind of a hard one to place in that there's like two pixels in which you can place it what you want to do is take your ward and then try to place it on this tree right here and just spam click it and then move your mouse slowly to the right until it allows you to place it and the ward will be blocking the camp but it will be out of vision of anybody that's standing up here you actually have to wrap around the tree and come at it from like the right angle in order to see this so you can see in this game that i'm not invisible by the way this is a glitch i was able to deward the century ward that this dude placed after i had placed my century award so when it comes to the dire hard camp my favorite place to put this is in these trees here where you can take the ward and then slowly move it down towards the camp and you'll see that there's some point where the camp turns red and the century ward is still placeable and so if you place it like that in order to see this century ward you have to like literally manually walk through the trees here so the next trick that i want to show you is a two level trick where the first level is extremely useful at every level of pub and basically doubles the amount of wards that you can d ward which i know sounds insane but just wait until you see the trick and then the second level is something that i see these ti players doing right now that only works against supports that are doing the first level of the trick which a lot of people aren't doing it so it's not that useful but the first level is very useful okay so if i'm this big fat pudge here and i want to place a word on the high ground what most people do is they'll just walk up and they'll place it directly in the center because there's a little eye there you know among other reasons people will place it directly in the center and this is actually not good if you're playing against really good supports because what a really good support will do is they're not going to walk up and place a century award on the high ground because let's say pudge is actually a good support what he's going to do is he's going to place the ward over here and so that way if i place the sentry reward on the high ground i'm not deboarding this ward and my team has a false sense of security that the area is dewarded so that's really bad so if i'm bane what i'm gonna do is i'll place the century ward on the low ground here so that way i can scout all the way over here to the left to see if there are any observer wards there and then when i get to the cliff you know you can use your courier to check this but sometimes that's not practical uh in a situation where you're trying to be quick with this uh and what you can do is use your directional move uh movement hotkey to move as close to the cliff as possible at every single angle that you possibly can and then as you can see i can actually see up the cliff and deward this ward and the reason for that is because every hero has a little bit of flying vision around their hero kind of representing you know obviously even if somebody puts a thing over your eyes you know where your body is at all times you know so a hero can kind of see themselves at all points in the game and so this can be abused to to see up high grounds and so you don't actually need to use your courier for most high ground d wards and so that's a free d water i don't need to use a courier i don't need to have any sort of high ground scouting ability but what the ti players are doing to avoid this is they're using trees and other things other you know blocking mechanisms so like over here there's there's these cliffs that can block uh but these trees they'll use these to their advantage so they'll take this ward and they'll place it really close to this side of the cliff and so that way if i try to walk up and deboard this with bane you can see that i'm still using my directional movement hotkey and i can't see here we are again in a practice lobby where i just accidentally placed a ward i thought that i thought i had infinite of these okay item sent item sent very cool uh and i'm gonna show you some cool camp blocking areas although there's only one that really matters but a lot of people don't realize this but there are a few camps where there are little secret high ground or low ground positions or areas behind trees where you can block them and against certain heroes this is very important especially like mid alchemists mid tas heroes are going to for that are going to farm the nearby jungle camps but up up here is a good example of that this is a century war that's almost never going to be able to get dewarded you have like in this area here which is a little bit easier because you can just cut cut through some trees to get there just like a single tree but these don't matter as much as the ancient camps these are the camps that matter the most outside of the laning phase because uh people are just stacking and farming ancients all all day with sven and medusa and these boring heroes so this is a really nice low ground area that can work and a lot of people instead of putting it here they'll put it kind of closer to the center or maybe over here to the left so that way the support actually has to come down and around in order to to deward this thing anyway anyway guy anyway guys thank you for watching
