Why Everyone Is Talking About REN | (required viewing)

oh yeah we're back [Music] Michael palmisano here I hope you're all doing well everybody and their brother their mother their third cousin people that aren't even related to them they don't know them are asking about Ren I mean I have I'm on my reacts request page on guitar game and just in this page right here I can only see six and three of them are Ren and two of them say required viewing and they're not from the same people so I guess we're gonna have to do it quick concert Public Safety announcement or just a rant if you will um just got back from dead and Company playing in the sand tremendous time but I have to say this it's my only gripe about any of it since when are you allowed to sit down in the pit and lay out a blanket and reserve your spot in between sets I've never heard of such a thing if you don't have a ticketed seat it's a battle not just to get there but to keep your spot you know how many pits I've been into where I refuse to go to the bathroom or go get a beer because I knew I would never be able to come back that is life this the laying on the ground and pretending like you're asleep and setting up camp so that no one steps on you on the rail is the softest most Preposterous thing ever I could not believe that hundreds of people were doing it literally laying down in the field sorry gotta say it ran here we go Matt Carson lifetime member thank of you that are new here I try to teach you something along the way C sharp minor root and the minor third a major root in the major third E major root in the major third um I want this to all be like the natural room Echo and have him be like in the padded cell or in the jail or something I don't even know what I want but I want I want it to go all the way [Music] Let It Be in The Gallows a balance on my toes so I can breathe but little by little bit Barbie I push it back down with a new habit if not for long just for a while I'll bury myself with a great big smile [Music] raise ourselves [Music] okay wow look at her nails um this is a subject we've talked about a great deal on this channel um we're always trying to push it down we're always trying to meet find a new thing to either make it tomorrow let us not see what we see in the mirror let us seem perhaps what we imagine someone else would see or tells us that they see um I think you know a lot of us have known someone that's thrown in the towel you know we've had dark days ourselves where you know we've thought about it or romanticized it and feel guilty about it but then also kind of like it it's like a weird terrible thing and this is a fresh new take on it this is one of these Universal truths that we that we all know in our hearts and we think that not everybody fights but everyone is fighting it in their own way and you know it's true by the way don't sleep on that seven that snuck in there give you that that leading tone to bring you back home [Music] exactly [Music] take this one wash it down and you'll be fine do anything except the work on you right so go ES [Music] on my toes now that is I missed that line before that is a hell of a line right Let It Go the soul will go right but on the Gallows I'm on the tips of my toes so I can breathe I watched a couple videos and I've read some things from people that have survived a suicide attempt and um not that this is only talking about suicide right um but you know most of them most of them you know even if they're not done with their demons have said that in that one particular moment um that they wish that they didn't do it like that it was that that that they um knew it was wrong and I don't want to paraphrase I mean I I feel like I have to I mean I just get it man I feel like that's why people jump off the tallest bridges or use handguns or whatever it is because it's so much force that your decision can't be taken back and and and and the ones that survive I I suppose um you know uh feel an unimaginable thing on the other side that but but that still doesn't mean that anything else has been solved right and and it's it's just a fact it's a fascinating and terrifying subject um that touches every family I mean every socioeconomic everything there's no immunity to this uh if if you've spent you know any real time alive uh somewhere somewhere a ripple of it will touch you oh mama we Trace ourselves [Music] [Music] we Trace ourselves erase ourselves [Music] things [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] just for a while I'll bury myself with a great big smile s erase ourselves in these choked [Music] okay huge huge um so many things to say first off um that last part sent it way over the top it's a beautiful day take it just in case I'm afraid to be okay right you never know what's going to change and I'm paraphrasing um that is the Hope at the end right that is the Hope at the end that they give you it's a beautiful day take it anyway take one more day make one more phone call go see one more friend go do something but not that thing huge um I think it's so easy to forget that everything happens in an instant every part of your life is instantaneous we don't live in this vacuum where we have uh 10-year perspective at a time my favorite quote about this I think it's T.S Eliot we cannot rip out a single page of our lives but we can throw the whole book in the fire and that's it exactly this is your whole life right which day perhaps is a page and each one line is that moment where again and again and again you have to choose you and give yourself a chance because you were afraid to be okay perhaps heavy stuff man I also say the stripped down arrangement if we had some big funky chords and crazy changes we would not be paying attention to the power of of what they're saying just having [Music] even that for the first few verses and then have it pick up to full chords sometimes it's the Simplicity of Arrangements that people sleep on it right you don't you don't always realize how important it is but when you're in a really noisy room like that and all the Reverb and you're trying to have the vocals blend like you want basically nothing there you want basically nothing and so it's perfect one last thing love the shots love the single camera following them around you don't see her at first and how different they look how well they blend um how they're not really like happy about what they're doing it's like a true artistic expression where it comes from necessity and I have to share this love it absolutely love it Ren chinchilla chalk outlines there you have it thank
