Why do the English Love Non-League Football?

welcome to bakeup burough this is the 10th tier of English football why on Earth am I in the 10th tier of English football when I could be watching the Premier League hello I don't think you need to watch any football to be you see you don't get this at ult Trafford [Music] no Brent Peter's manager of bakeup burough some people say I'm the longest serving manager in in worldwide football how long have you been managing at B uh 26 year what goes into each match in terms of your preparation I mean I re first thing in the morning first thing I did was cleaning the the beer pumps in the back I were out on the tractor and I were rolling and brushing the pcks ready for a game today and then I had to go out with Deborah to get all the catering and then I started to focus on um on the team selection ready for today [Music] yeah bakeup fans yeah who else do you support or is it just bakeup Burnley Burnley I've been brought up with Burnley and that it's my local team most of my family is sports Bly and I've just been coming back up with my dad for years Man City and man united how come you don't support them because we're not glor owners do you prer the Premier League or the championship uh Championship championship by far V's rubbish get it gone yeah [Applause] yeah well I'm the can the manager always have been the first thing that that I want to see in a player is uh what rate the late Ken Fury when I was a at Blackburn Rovers he once came in the changing room and he said listen I I want 11 workers and not 11 George [Music] Best he finishes what's Deborah's role at the club Deborah's been very close to me for in the 26 years that I've been at the football club she'll be making everybody welcome and she's like a at the football club in a football club sense she like a rock to me you know when I have uh my bad days you know and I'm I'm like a bit down because things aren't going to plan and things aren't going out how how you want things to go she's always been someone there that listens and you know kind of thinks positive usually Friday I start I go get all the all everything in for the game and I just start doing the the prepping for the pie I'm usually till about 9:00 on a Friday evening match before a match it let it b b b right back well done I was working for a local radio station and I spoke to Brent and that's how I ended up at at Baker bur we're not uh a sford city we don't have a class of 92 here it's Brent Peters and Deborah or Conor and and and that's about it but we we're [Music] trying [Music] that's how long do been coming to the games uh well just this season cuz I only got her in February yeah so we come all the way from Conway how far is that was that it's 125 miles 250 m round [Music] trip Bella I will say one thing to you the match is that way [Music] [Applause] [Music] Lewis burn Striker Gareth wager played for B for 12 Seasons what's it like playing under Brent yeah Brent's Min honestly he's different no matter how I'm playing he's always behind me he's pushing me on he's honest brutally honest if you're not on it he tells you and he's just honest with you and he's fair and these Lads especially the younger LS need that if you can't handle brand you're not going to be able to handle it at this level it comes across like a tiger but really is a car yeah and he cares a lot doesn't he he cares a lot for the club this is this is what I mean this is his life isn't it football just comes out of every single por of his body he just eats sleeps and breathes bakeer bur and [Music] [Applause] [Music] football all the effort that you put in you must think yeah no it is absolutely worth it I the manager of Rosendale United now Rosendale United were my own toown club I grew up with Rosendale United I was a ball byy father was a director and when you see that that that club's no longer in existence and his houses on it the last thing I want is to see you know a football club that Steed in history B up burough to lose its football club and lose its history so that's why I've done everything I've done to try and make sure um that the the club is still alive and kicking despite all the C with won my greatest achievement has been that I wake up in the morning and this football club's still going that is the greatest achievement cuz that's what it's [Music] about I'm a Sunday League player everything I've I'm used to playing in front of just an old an old man and his dog so obviously when come here and there's quite a lot of people there it's good and you can see what it means to all the fans and everything it's the real family feel and Year and be be the go be understand you feel it in the game you know the Gaffers were saying you know who you doing this for today and for the fans really you know for people who come and pay the the money to come in that's what the lads need to do week in week out can't do it one week and turn it off the next week would you ever consider going to a a more local Club this no Bob Bob is in my blood even though Brent's Manchester United and I'm Liverpool we still love each other this club will be here for a long time we're just passing through it's the younger ones that are going to look after it we're passing through we're just make everything better for him yeah and you're setting the best example for the Next Generation well hopefully hope oh yeah I hope so I've got two daughters so hopefully I like to see that you've got a hot bimp toe as well on the men any a few hot B toes today I see you grave it Tommy you've not have you not eaten no like this is I'm not doing this [Music] anymore
